Brāv Aims to Provide Trauma Therapy to Victims of Child Abuse and Neglect

Brav Lift is a proposed non-profit organization (working on forming the 501-C3) affiliated with Brav aimed at providing trauma therapy to children who pass through family courts because of abuse and neglect. Sometimes abandonment is involved in these cases. We are also lobbying to get a bill passed that encompasses the rights of children. Children are not treated fairly in the justice system and are seen as little adults rather than what is akin to their mental development. All children have been born with the inherent right to be protected by the law and to not be harmed in any physical or emotional way. Platform: Using psychologists and support staff trained in trauma counseling to work with the courts, CPS, and the foster care systems. Just as a child is appointed a guardian ad litem, Brav Lift would appoint a therapist. Brav trains anyone in conflict management strategy. These Brav Ones in turn help manage the  Conflict managers, who are unknown to any and all parties, called Brav Ones, are ordinary people like you, trained through our virtual games to manage issues amongst others. During a session, parties, together with the aid of a Brav One, discuss specific disputed issues in order to develop options, consider alternatives, and reach a consensual agreement which assists all parties’ needs. Brav claims: We create a technology paradox: often heralded for its speed, we use tech to help our users slow down, listen, think, and ultimately have successful conflict management. Price is the Voice Behind the Music. He goes on to say more about Debra, The paramount difference between a good recording artist and a truly great one, is the voice behind the music. This is particularly true of the remarkable & awe-inspiring life and career of the gospel recording artist, Debra M. Price. With 2 albums & 4 awards on her musical resume, & her acclaim as a speaker, Debra has proven the relevance & popularity of her music & her other skills before an audience. Because the voice behind Debra’s transcendent music, & the inspiration behind her speaking, is not hers alone. Debra has found it in her Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ, & as she often charmingly refers to Him — her Daddy GOD. Strong in the Lord, Debra believes, I Declare, I cast All my cares & concerns on The Greater One who lives inside of me for He Cares about me. I Cast doubt, fear, anger, fault finding & all past hurts on JESUS to be Dissolved & HEALED. I Receive Healing & Deliverance. Thank You, JESUS." She does this by sharing GOD’S word in songs at clubs, conferences, churches, concerts, radio, festivals, movies, etc. Her goal is, through the power of music, to help young women uncover their inner beauty, confidence, & strengths. According to Debra, "There's healing for depression, death, divorce, low self-esteem." Coming out of an abusive marriage forced Debra & her children lived in a shelter for battered women. 3 weeks after the death of 1 of her twins, she filed for a divorce while battling hopelessness, depression, bitterness, anger, & fear of rejection. Debra had to learn to love herself & that there’s Hope & Healing for all broken hearts. This, in turn, taught her how much she's loved & approved by the One who created her.  Emily Wallace, a motivational speaker & inspirational author, is the mother of a young daughter with a disability that medically leaves her unable to speak. That daughter, Bessie, is making strides in an unconventional way. She's beginning to break her silence by singing along with her big sister, Ernestine, a/k/a EMW. However, she turned those negative experiences into an unforgettable inspirational autobiography, Scarred for Life, illustrating the struggles she faced during her childhood. Today, Emily has successfully raised her family. Her son, Larry, is becoming a TV host of Metro Arts Detroit for the next 2 years. The Story Behind the Story: "My grandmother & my mother taught me great values, but it wasn't until I came to womanhood that I appreciated what I was taught. I lost my first-born child to SIDS, & that was when I understood how to let go of things. Life is too short to bitter over things that I can't control. I can own my stupidity because I don't have higher expectations from imperfect people. I don't need anyone's validation to feel complete. I am going to make it. I hope that I encourage you by hearing my story. I want to reach the younger generation & urban communities because I believe they can identify with it." ~ Sids Ahky Stevens, Author From the Director: "As a product of a fatherless home until the age of 13, I can remember growing up faster than some of my friends. Since I had to look after most of my brothers & sisters, this helped with understanding the idea of trust, forgiveness, & mercy. First, I had to trust that my mother was giving her best & that everything will go according to plan. Even when things went sideways, somehow, we were led back to the path. I saw my father every now & again, & sometimes he would miss important moments. However, as the oldest, I never had the opportunity to hold guilt or to blame, so I was forced into learning the path of forgiveness. Forgiveness & Mercy go hand in hand." ~ Lee A Smith, the Director The Big Picture: "Our dream is to make this into a feature film so that we can bring this book, this message, & this conversation to the multitudes. Your donations will start the process. A successful festival run with this short will be the launching pad to accomplishing our ultimate goal!" ~ Management

During the next couple of Sundays we shall present Parenting Righteously from the Natural and Spiritual Viewpoints with Etienne A. Gibbs covering the Natural psychological aspects and Bishop Herbert Hucks and Pastor Kim Dial covering the spiritual aspects. Here are some of the topics we shall cover: Falling Down Is Not Such a Bad Thing: Children Do It All the Time and Mommies Come to their Rescue with Her Loveaid in Hand.  "Every Behavior, Good or Bad, Starts as a Goal," aAccording to the creators of STEP, Dr. Don Dinkmeyer, Sr., & Dr. Gary D. McKay. STEP (Systematic Training for Effective Parenting) began in 1976 when Dr. Don, Sr., & Dr. McKay expanded a successful book, Raising a Responsible Child.   A. Identifying the Negative Behaviors. To effectively help negative attention-seekers, we must first change our response to them.B. Who's the Boss in Your House, at School, or Workplace? Power-seekers feel that they are significant only when they are bossing or bullying people around. C. When Getting Mad Is Getting Even. I do believe that revenge-seekers are bullies who are somewhat paranoid in their thinking.D. To Suck It Up or Seek It Out? That Is the Question. Manipulators, rather than come right out with their wishes, wants, and desires, will find elaborate ways to get others to do something for them. Ultimate Goal: Turning the misconduct into super-performance at School, Workplace, or Home.

Food for Thought: Loyalty, which derives from the Latin root word lex, or law, has as one meaning that of being allegiant or faithful to recognized authority, whereas obedience means a willingness to obey or submit to authority. Divine authority is inflexible law, and obedience to such authority determines true loyalty, for there cannot be complete loyalty without obedience.

Simply pick up your telephone anytime 24/7/365 and dial either of our prayer lines at 502-242-7148 or 502-219-4851. Repentance is the activity of reviewing one's actions and feeling contrition or regret for past wrongs. Today, it is generally seen as involving a commitment to personal change and the resolve to live a more responsible and humane life. In other words, being sorry for one's misdeeds. But it can also involve sorrow over a specific sin or series of sins that an individual feels he or she has committed. The practice of repentance plays an important role in the soteriological doctrines of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, where it is often considered necessary for the attainment of salvation. Analogous practices have been found in other world religions as well. In religious contexts, it often involves an act of confession to God or to a spiritual elder. This typically includes an admission of guilt, a promise, or resolve not to repeat the offense; an attempt to make restitution for the wrong, or in some way to reverse the harmful effects of the wrong where possible.

Unleash Ministry is a Christian-based support initiative for anyone looking to grow personally & spiritually, by walking in the victory of the Lord. This ministry is about overcoming life’s challenges, reconnecting to one's Christian walk, & recognizing that without fellowship we remain alone, isolated, & shame-ridden when sin & error enter our lives on a habitual basis. The unique nature of Unleash Ministry is that individuals can activate passion for Christ in various media such as support groups, 1-1 prayer, & fellowship times, via developing skill sets in writing, singing, speaking, evangelizing, & UNLEASHING  Power, Passion, Potential, & Purpose in their lives. In Unleash Ministry, support groups allow anyone to come together in one accord to be open & real before God in a non-judgmental atmosphere of love & caring. The online, groups, home settings meetings are typically unstructured giving way to the Holy Spirit to open avenues of brokenness, thereby providing an opportunity for Godly counsel & support. Unleashing in the context of this ministry allows for burdens to be lifted, transformation of lives, strengthened relationships, trust is built, & hope in Christ is restored and/or developed. Domestic violence (DV) is a form of violence by a partner(s) against another partner(s) in an intimate relationship. It is recognized as an important social problem by governmental & non-governmental agencies. Victimization from domestic violence transcends the boundaries of gender & sexual orientation, with significant percentages of LGBT couples facing these issues. Men are subject to domestic violence in large numbers but they are less likely to be physically hurt than female victims. Social & economically disadvantaged groups in the US regularly face worse rates of domestic violence than other groups. Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS), also known as cot death or crib death, is the sudden unexplained death of a child less than 1 year of age. Diagnosis requires that the death remains unexplained even after a thorough autopsy & detailed death scene investigation. SIDS usually occurs during sleep. Typically, death occurs between midnight & 9:00 am. There is usually no evidence of struggle and no noise produced. The exact cause of SIDS is unknown. The requirement of a combination of factors including a specific underlying susceptibility, a specific time in development, and an environmental stressor has been proposed. SIDS makes up about 80% of Sudden and Unexpected Infant Deaths (SUIDs), with other causes including infections, genetic disorders, & heart problems. Grief support for families impacted by SIDS is important, as the death of the infant is sudden, without witnesses, & often associated with an investigation

From Nicky's Facebook page: "So stop telling lies. Let us tell our neighbors the truth, for we are all parts of the same body” (Ephesians 4:25 NLT, 2nd ed.). Lasting change requires honest, authentic community. You need people in your life who will tell you the truth in love. There are some things in your life you will never change without the help of others. You may be so embarrassed by certain issues in your life that you won’t talk about them with anyone. But how well has that strategy worked for you? If you could change your life on your own, you would have already done it. You can’t! You need to stop lying to yourself. If you want to change, you will need other people to help you. You will need to be in gut-level, authentic community. This is why small groups are so important. But you need more than just a small group. You need one person within that group with whom you can be completely open & honest. You don’t have to open up to everyone, but you need to open up to someone. God wired us in a way that we need each other, but that means we cannot get rid of our bad habits & hang-ups on our own. You can’t do it alone, because God made you to need other people. The Bible says, “So stop telling lies. Let us tell our neighbors the truth, for we are all parts of the same body” (Ephesians 4:25 NLT, 2nd ed.). If you’re a believer, you belong to the Body of Christ. You belong to other believers. You were not made to live the Christian life alone. You can’t do it. If you’re serious about changing the deepest, darkest defects in your life, you have to overcome the fear of being honest. We waste an enormous amount of energy trying to cover up our sins, our hurts, our hang-ups, & our defects. Visit Nicky at: http://bit.ly/2iNbMzl
