“NOW, go do something with it!” If there's anyone who believes that everyone has huge potential and it just takes hard work to realize your dreams, it's Adam Bighill. He grew up in the States where “Friday Night Lights” was actually a “thing” and he went on to play on the biggest stage in his world of football. He's been named the CFL's Most Outstanding defensive player three times, won multiple Grey Cup championships and is proud to call himself a Winnipeg Blue Bomber… still. No question, hard work is his mantra, but he doesn't just say it – he backs it up in a big way and his performance on the field proves that every single day. He'd love nothing more than to have us ALL live that way – so, listen and be inspired. According to “Biggie” – anything's possible. Thank you, #CatchSitkaSeafoods and #ACMEHomes, for your continued support!!!Today, we sat down with my former college teammate, John Hallead, one of the most talented athletes I've been around. Before attending CWU, he began a professional baseball career with the Colorado Rockies organization. He played four seasons of football for the Wildcats from 1997 to 2000. He was a first-team National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) AII-American as a sophomore, was named a third-team National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II AII-American by Football Gazette as a senior, and was the Columbia Football Association's Defensive Player of the Year in both 1998 and 2000.Today's conversation is about John the Dad. We explore #divorce, #abuse, #mindset, #service, and much more as John opens up with amazing #vulnerability. We discussed the importance of #empathy and slowing down to understand what your LEGACY will be like as a father. The Rouge White & Blue Podcast hopes all those who didn't sufficiently enjoy the CFL regular season in 2021 were tuned in to last week's playoffs, scintillating as both games were. For co-host Os Davis: the Montreal Alouettes-Hamilton Tiger-Cats and Calgary Stampeders-Saskatchewan Roughriders games boiled down to a single question each: “Does momentum actually exist?” and “Can a loss in football be blamed on one individual (particularly in a you-had-one-job scenario)?”, respectively. Naturally, RWB co-host Joe Pritchard deftly supplies answers. Then, as they say, it's on to next week and the CFL conference championships: the publicly-perceived coin toss pitting the Ticats against the Toronto Argonauts and the potential blowout of Saskatchewan at those ridiculously good Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Are we destined for the chalk matchup of Argos-Bombers? Could we get the Angleo Mosca Memorial Bowl with the Ticats enacting revenge? And do the Riders have any chance? All this plus a brief look at the CFL's year-end award nominees (mostly so Os can declare once again that Adam Bighill was robbed of the MOP) and Joe's fantasy football progress in the DFS-format CFL podcaster league.
