Alex reviews the latest games for Syracuse, previews their upcoming schedule, discusses some of the team's upcoming charity initiatives, and ponders how the team is still performing so well given all the changes afoot.

While the Wildcast primarily focuses on University of Arizona sports, its hard to ignore Tucson first-place pro hockey team, the AHL's Tucson Roadrunners. The Star's Brett Fera and James Kelley chat with Roadrunners goaltender Matthew Villalta about first All-Star nod of his pro career ahead of the AHL All-Star Classic, Sunday, Feb. 4 and Monday, Feb. 5 in San Jose, California.

The burning question of today's episode of Locked On Stars is are the Dallas Stars frauds?? The Stars are off to a phenomenal start this season, heading into the All-Star Break they have 66 points through 49 games and find themselves fifth in the NHL. They have the 3rd best offense scoring 6.68 goals per game and flex that in the majority of their wins this season, but their are underlying issues. The Stars are one of three teams ranked in the top 10 in points this season, out of the top 10 in goals against per game and save percentage, usually categories Stanley Cup teams are very good in. Jake Oettinger has certainly not played his best hockey and if finds his rhythm the Stars will be very dangerous. Joey explains his reasoning behind the question and why might some people lean one side of the aisle versus the other. What is your answer to the question? The conversation then switches to the dominance of Miro Heiskanen and Thomas Harley. Harley has 12 goals this season after two on Saturday including his 3rd OT winner of the season, and Heiskanen has three points in his first two games back from injury. Joey then seaways into his thoughts on the Capitals game and once again how the Stars struggle to close out teams. This time surrendering two goals with under 5 minutes to push the game to overtime. The final segment revolves around Logan Stankoven of the Texas Stars. He becomes the first player in the NHL season to hit 50 points. He's on a four game point streak with four goals in his last five games including an OT winner. He's been helped out a lot by the emergence of the veterans on the team like Philippe Maillet, Lias Andersson and even fellow prospects like William Trudeau. Scott breaks down his best from the Rocket in the last week.The prospects are in focus in a big way for the Habs fandom this week, as Owen Beck's trade to Saginaw seems to have re-invigorated his game to the tune of nine points in three games for the Spirit.
