In this episode of The Whiteboard, the guys break down the Canucks' 2–0 loss to the Rangers a game that felt more like a snooze button than a showdown. They talk about how mid the Rangers looked with Miller, and how mid the Canucks looked without him, as the crowd delivered a mix of boos and cheers for the former fan favourite. With key players missing and only Hughes and Garland showing flashes, the team's ceiling is looking pretty low kind of like the Blue Jays lineup lately. As long as a couple great house reps, Jeff Shipley and Sigourney-Kyota's own house rep, Helena Hayes, helped contribute to this episode. Coach Jensen joins the program to recap a complete playoff performance: a 45-0 victory over I-35 where offense, defense, and special teams all clicked. Sigourney-Kyota imposed their running game, forced turnovers, and limited the opponent to roughly 80 yards of total offense. Standouts included sophomore Blake Baker (125 rushing yards, two TDs), Lane Conrad, Carson O'Rourke, Aiden Galindo, and defensive plays from Landon Fish and others. Special teams improvements and strong line play were also key. Looking ahead, Coach Jensen previews a tough second-round matchup with Beckman Catholic and expresses confidence in the team's depth, JV talent stepping up, and continued preparation for playoff football.
This week we discuss the Chiefs total domination of the Raiders where they held them to under a 100 yards of offense. This Chiefs offense also is looking like the best in the NFL when fully healthy. And the sky's the limit for them. Then we end it with America's favorite segment: Drop the Ball!

The Chiefs won in a way NFL teams aren't supposed to win. They dominated the Las Vegas Raiders in a 31-0 victory and held the visitors to three first downs and fewer than 100 total yards. On SportsBeat KC, the sports podcast of The Star and KCUR, beat writer Pete Sweeney and columnist Sam McDowell explain how it happened and what it means for the Chiefs, who return to action on “Monday Night Football” against the Washington Commanders. Also, the Chiefs welcomed back receiver Rashee Rice — and he delivered a big game — but are still missing left tackle Josh Simmons, and now defensive tackle Omarr Norman-Lott could be lost for the season. The Sunflower Showdown arrives this weekend when Kansas State travels to Kansas. The Wildcats own a 16-game winning streak in the series, but beat writers Kellis Robinett and Shreyas Laddha discuss why both teams are feeling pressure in this game. Check out this week's podcast. The Nixon-Smiley Mustangs delivered a dominant performance on Homecoming night, shutting out the YMLA Lions 38-0 at Mustang Stadium to improve to 5-2 overall and 2-2 in District play. The win marked one of the most complete efforts of the season for Head Coach Paul Kirby's squad, as both sides of the ball controlled the game from start to finish. Quarterback junior Eric Rodriguez (2) led the charge, accounting for three total touchdowns. Rodriguez threw for 76 yards, with a 45-yard touchdown pass to sophomore Joe White (17), while also rushing for 84 yards and two scores on just ten...Article Link
Connect with Afua on LinkedInLearn More about the Leadership LoungeWhat if a shutdown could be your reset button? We sat down with digital strategist and communicator Afua Riverson to explore how a forced pause can surface buried passions, heal old narratives, and point you toward work that actually feels like yours. The conversation starts with a candid check-in on grief, time, and why a week of D'Angelo and 90s R&B can do more for your spirit than another round of headlines. From there, we trace a path many first-gen leaders know too well: the pressure to choose “serious” careers, the habit of overperforming to earn love, and the quiet cost of shelving creative callings.Afua lets us into her turning point - health challenges and the radical question: Who am I without the titles? What she finds looks like a treasure chest: sketchbooks, museums, movement in nature, the old dream of fashion and creative direction. She builds a “joy list,” a simple, repeatable practice that grounds her when anxiety spikes and imposter syndrome knocks. We dig into the leadership skills that emerge from this reset - creative direction, innovation, and culture-building - and how those gifts translate into real value for teams and brands. The Wisconsin Badgers were hammered 34-0 by Ohio State — and yet the administration is signaling full support for head coach Luke Fickell and committing to big investment in the program.
Coach Jared Jensen recaps the Cobras' 49-0 regular-season finale over Cardinal, highlighting defensive standouts, a deeply balanced rushing attack, improved offensive line play, special teams consistency, and smart clock-management as keys to their momentum heading into the playoffs. Ohio State improved to 7-0 after a 34-0 win over Wisconsin. The win marked the fifth time since Ryan Day took over as head coach that OSU shut out an opponent and the second time it's done so in a game where Luke Fickell was on the opposing sideline. It's been a busy week around here, and I've got a fresh episode of Better Lait Than Never ready to hit your ear holes with another dose of Oilers adjacent shenanigans. On today's podcast, I talked about the Oilers bouncing back from their season opener loss, Stuart Skinner doing what he can to shut up the haters, Jack Roslovic's Edmonton debut, and much more. After a tough loss to the Calgary Flames in the season opener, the Edmonton Oilers rebounded with a pair of wins over the Vancouver Canucks and New York Rangers. While those two wins came after very different games and with very different heroes, the larger point is that our boys found a way to win despite two vastly different styles on the ice. Not only were those wins important, but I also got the chance to pump Stuart Skinner's tires a little bit after quieting down the haters with his first shutout of the season. Finally, I wrapped up the news with a quick look at Jack Roslovic's Oilers debut, and wondered whether he can do enough in the next few weeks to cement his spot in the lineup. Finally, I wrapped up this week's episode of BLTN with a Righteous Sack Beating about player fines before wrapping up the podcast with another round of voicemails. The voicemail was quiet again this week, but the messages were as varied as they were entertaining. The voicemail is my favourite way to wrap up the show and give everyone a chance to share their thoughts. Another hearty thank you to everyone who contributed to this week's episode, because having all of you in the mix makes the show so much better.Want to leave a voicemail for next week's show? Send us a textIt was a weekend of highs, lows, and everything in between for the crew on Coach E: Game For All Seasons. Friday night brought tough struggles for the Twinsburg Tigers, as Coach E breaks down back-to-back shutouts and the lessons his team needs to learn heading into Homecoming weekend. Saturday offered some relief with tacos, tequila, and throwback performances from legends like Chingy, Ginuwine, and Lil Jon at Avon's festival. But Sunday? More struggles, as the Cleveland Browns took another tough loss to the Lions. The fellas dive deep into what's going wrong with Joe Flacco under center, Kevin Stefanski's outdated playcalling, and whether rookie Dylan Gabriel should finally get his shot. From Friday night to Sunday afternoon, that was the theme — but the question is, how long will it last?
Sal and BT explode over the Yankees' Wild Card series win, driven by Cam Schlittler's "otherworldly" 12-strikeout masterpiece that cemented a new, clean style of winning for the team—one that proves they don't need home runs to dominate. They celebrate manager Aaron Boone's managerial decisions and argue the victory likely saved his job. The excitement pivots quickly to Mets' "massive" coaching purge, with the hosts agreeing the firings were necessary after a disastrous season, before wrapping up with a look at the Giants' rookie QB Jaxson Dart and the usual "LOL Jets" jokes.
The Mets went silent when it mattered most, shut out and shut down without a playoff berth. Fans packed the seats all year, but the players never showed — leaving those fans embarrassed and furious.
