Louis the XIV made Paris the first city to be lit at night and now, ironically, it seems France may be the leader in mitigating light pollution. David tells us about France's law that shops must turn off their lights after the store is closed. Of course we have local ordinances in North America for that, but France seems to be better at enforcing the law. David contends that our cultures' fear of night and the dark is Alfred Hitchcock's fault. David is a French engineer, musician, amateur astronomer, and motorcycle enthusiast who speaks 3 languages and has worked in cybersecurity. He discovered the light pollution phenomenon 5 years ago, and is now acting to make people aware of this problem, and to fight it. David maintains that the difficulty is that people do not care, because they are not informed.
Recently Glenn ran into Austin at the local gym. The reason this is significant is that Austin, once a local, has moved remote with his family to run his full time job at Brand Makers AND his $10 million dollar real estate portfolio with short term rentals.Yes numbers get thrown around a lot sometimes and I don't know what you think when you hear the $10 million dollar evaluation BUT guess what? Austin picked up his first investment property in early 2020, just 4+ years ago.Glenn had the great opportunity of coaching Austin and has enjoyed watching Austin's success blossom over the years. It has not all been fun and games in fact Austin dives into just bits and pieces of his story...But one message was clear - what if you gave it your all, didn't quit and just did the work for 2 years? This is exactly what Austin's boss at Brand Maker's advised him to do and Austin went out and did it.This is a pattern in Austin's life - just go out and do it. Austin does have a certain set of skills and mindset that he's constantly refining but listen to his story, pick out some nuggets, wisdom and motivations and get out there and do your work.IF you want to learn more or connect with Austin start at instagram - @warriorethoslife - thanks for joining us on the show Austin and we can't wait to see what the next 2 years brings you and everyone else who keeps to the work.

There are timeless principles that underlie stock trading. In this episode we discuss Reminiscences of a Stock Operator, considered by many to be a classic work in the space. First published in 1923, Reminiscences of a Stock Operator by Edwin Lefevre is a fictionalized biography based on the career of legendary stock trader Jesse Livermore. Through the first-person recounting of protagonist Lawrence Livingston's career, Lefevre imparts hard won stock trading lessons. Through many booms and busts Livingston grows and forms a deeper understanding of the principles that underlie the market as well as the forces that propel it. The fictionalized biography has minimal personal anecdotes, concentrating almost wholly on Livingston's career and the events that shape the US economy during his exploits from the 1890s through to the 1920s. We were pleased to be joined by investor and entrepreneur Brad Mills on this episode, a huge fan of the book. Rome has never willingly given to the world a Bible in a vulgar language. She has permitted a few versions, as the French of Lefevre, of Etaples, and the English Douay. But it was only to countermine the influence of Protestants. Her people are only permitted to possess these partial versions, because else they would persist in reading the Protestant, and even her own are circulated as reluctantly as possible. -Article from The Critic - 1856
In this episode, you will learn: Making a significant change can catalyze personal transformation, altering both physiology and mental outlook. Luke dives into his belief that feeling restless can be interpreted as a nudge from the Holy Spirit, urging individuals to wake up and make necessary changes in their lives. Just as physical exercise is crucial for bodily health, slowing down and focusing the mind through activities like journaling is essential for mental well-being. There's no conflict between physical and spiritual health; both are vital for holistic well-being. God may use restlessness to prompt individuals toward positive change. Restlessness can be a wilderness experience, a time of formation and growth. It's essential to discern whether to stay and learn or move toward a new direction, avoiding running away from challenges prematurely. I also know what it feels like to have a stirring and know there is something more, and where I am now “ain't” it, but I have no idea what to do next. But, after over 20 years of stumbling, fighting, studying, researching, working through battles, and seeing this same pattern in hundreds of creative people in my C-suite, executive, and coaching roles, I have found there is a path and there are practices that can lead you from being stuck, restless and stirred to unlocked and thriving. God put something inside of YOU before YOU were born, something you can't help but be, and He is pulling YOU to it. There is a way to see where you are on this path and what it will take to continue to follow. These feelings of being stuck, restless, and stirred aren't bad feelings. These feelings are coming from God.He is pulling you!You are not stuck. You are not lost! You are on a path. This PULL will lead you to your PURPOSE. God wants to pull you through this path and create something with you through, through you, and most importantly...in you. It takes a lot of work, but it isn't just any kind of work, it is work that transforms us. This work will transform YOU in ways you can't imagine and YOU will create things you can't imagine! That process is more than just work...it is Holy Work. In his public art commissions, he has found ways to celebrate the collective stories of others, as well as sharing the personal stories he has lived. Gregg's public art career has been prolific. He has completed over 200 permanently installed projects, many in the USA with a dozen in his home of Manhattan. Library Walk, at Fifth and 41st, is the largest work of public art in NYC. His public art is all about exploring the history or character of the places where it is installed. Gregg has a particular interest in telling the lost and forgotten stories from people and cultures that have otherwise been excluded from the national narrative. Gregg's experiences in and around the world of art inspired him to create his podcast, The Compulsive Storyteller, where his short personal stories prove the adage that truth can be stranger than fiction. For more information on applying to Superfine Art Fair as well as recordings of this and all of our past podcasts, just visit www.superfine.world IG: @superfineartfairIG: @gregg_lefevreIf you want to submit a listener question you can email it to joshua@superfine.world for a chance of it being answered by Alex, James, and our guest!Hosted and Executive Produced by James Miille and Alexander MitowExecutive Producer/Producer : Joshua GuicheritWritten by: Joshua Guicherit, Alexander Mitow, and James MiilleAudio Edited by: Christian Parry

Eric Lefevre joins us to discuss the Concordia-Seminex Affair, in which the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod reversed a trend towards liberal theology in its flagship seminary and the denomination as a whole.
If we want a revival to happen in our generation, we have to have a hunger for holiness — but what does that look like? Guest speaker Luke LeFevre walks us through Matthew 24:37-44 to remind us that God's patience with us is not His passivity toward our sin, and if we want to experience true intimacy with Him we have to repent and start pursuing holiness.
