Well Hello Disney
Genie+ Hollywood Studios in 2024

Well Hello Disney

Play Episode Play 35 sec Highlight Listen Later Mar 20, 2024 28:03

In this podcast, I will be sharing a comprehensive guide on navigating Hollywood Studios with the help of Genie+. Hollywood Studios has the least amount of rides of any Disney park, but it is packed with many exciting attractions, including several high-demand rides with height requirements. This can be a challenge for families with toddlers or young ones who don't meet those requirements. Therefore, intentionally planning your day is essential to make the most of your time at the park. One of the first things to remember is that even if a child meets the height requirement, they might need more time to be ready to experience some of the more intense rides, such as the Tower of Terror. Therefore, assessing if the ride is suitable for your child's age and temperament is crucial before using Genie+ to book your spot.Another thing to consider is that Hollywood Studios offers many shows and dining experiences that are worth experiencing. So, it's wise to have a balanced day and not just focus on the rides. Sometimes, the little things are what make Disney magical, and you want to take advantage of those moments. To maximize your day at Hollywood Studios, I recommend using Genie+ to book your ride times for high-demand attractions, such as the popular Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, Slinky Dog Dash, and Rock 'n' Roller Coaster. You can also use Genie+ to book ride times for the Toy Story Mania and Alien Swirling Saucers, which are family-friendly rides that everyone can enjoy. In conclusion, Hollywood Studios is a fun and exciting park to visit, but careful planning is required to make the most of your time there. By following the strategies I've mentioned, you can ensure that you have a memorable and enjoyable experience at the park. Support the showBlog Instagram YouTube Pinterest Amazon Shop LTK Shop

Disney cancels, then uncancels a train... the Eat to the Beat lineup, and lamenting the lack of star power for Epcot's 40th... trying to figure out who Stokely is... why Jenn hates Hanson... and the Boutique returns!  Plus, remembering The Backlot Tour, before doing a talk-through walkthrough of Toy Story Land, including taking a look at theming, Toy Story Mania, forgetting the game order, the old Pixar Place, Alien Swirling Saucers, Slinky Dog, and even a look at Toy Story Land in other parks around the world.  And at the end, some breaking news that came in while recording -- Pooh, Tigger, Lilo, Stitch and more return to dining as three character meals are returning!  Some big thanks to those who's contributions to the show have lasted 112 episodes, including Brady Novotny (theme music)... I had a fantastic chat with Amanda who vacationed to Walt Disney World in September with her husband and her brother. We discussed a lot of details, especially around the free dining promotion and the Disney Dining Plan. She also gave a great review of Saratoga Springs, so we talked a lot about that lesser-known resort, which I think is really helpful. We dove into Food and Wine Festival just a little bit and Amanda shares her FastPass+ strategies. Just wait until you hear the most FastPasses she has ever gotten in one day. Get ready. Is Disney World just for kids? So many people ask, can I go as an adult (without kids) or is that weird? A lot of people think that Disney World is just for kids and Amanda's brother was one of those people. He thought that Walt Disney World was just a place for kids and he wasn't going to enjoy it, but it really is just somewhere that you can go and relax and enjoy yourself. They've truly got something for everyone. It's fantastic. Resort Review: Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa Two-bedroom Villa, DVC (Disney Vacation Club) (I highly recommend Shipt or Amazon Prime Now for grocery delivery to the Disney World resorts.)  Disney Springs Trip Planning Details Park Hopper: Yes Memory Maker: Yes Make sure you ask for Magic Shots! Disney Dining Plan: Yes Dining reservations: Chef Art Smith's Homecomin' in Disney Springs. Yak and Yeti in Animal Kingdom. Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant in Hollywood Studios. FastPass+ Strategy: This was the first time Amanda has vacationed to Hollywood studios since Toy Story Land opened, so Slinky Dog Dash and Alien Swirling Saucers were first on her list. This episode we head back to Toy Story Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios to ride the area’s other new attraction, Alien Swirling Saucers.  The guide map describes this attraction by saying Hang on tight for an interstellar romp in a toy rocket - set to an out-of-this-world beat!  Guests must be 32” or taller in order to ride and the Thrill level describes the attraction as a Spinning ride.  Fastpass+ is available for this attraction. Before we spin ourselves silly, here are five fast facts about the Alien Swirling Saucers at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. 1. The Alien Swirling Saucers attraction was announced publicly for the first time at the 2015 Disney D23 Expo. 2. Though it had a few soft openings and cast member previews, Alien Swirling Saucers officially opened, along with the rest of Toy Story Land, on June 30, 2018. 3. The attraction is designed to look like a playlet that Andy from the Toy Story Films got at the Pizza Planet pizza place. 4.  The attraction, similar to Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree at Disney California Adventure can spin up to 66 guests at a time for the 1 minute 30 second duration of the attraction. 5.  As guests spin in their rocket ships beneath the giant claw suspended from the ceiling, ‘space jazz’ versions of songs from Toy Story are played. Enough talking, let’s get spinning!  Joining me today is John B. deHaas and this is our first ride on the Alien Swirling Saucers so after the ride audio, we will give you our thoughts on it.  This is a binaural recording so if you have headphones, put them on now.  Also, when recording this attraction, I was able to record the music of the ride that happened before ours.  Since the ride is so short and the music is different every ride, I’ve included both for you to enjoy!  Here now is Alien Swirling Saucers at Disney’s Hollywood Studios!
