Here's what a perfect day in Hollywood Studios looks like! Morning: Rope Drop Energy & Star Wars DreamsIf you arrive at rope drop, you'll find excitement buzzing through the crowd. The sun is barely up, but everyone is already strategizing. For many, the first mission of the day is navigating Batuu.I headed straight to Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, where the sounds of droids and starships fill the air. There's nothing quite like wandering the market stalls as the land wakes up. I hopped in line for Rise of the Resistance, which—no matter how many times you've ridden—is jaw-droppingly immersive. From the First Order Star Destroyer hangar to the runaway escape pod, it's more than a ride; it's a cinematic moment you get to live. Then it was time for a little friendly competition on Smugglers Run. I'm not saying I was the best pilot the Millennium Falcon has ever seen, but I did manage to avoid crashing into anything major.Late Morning: Toy Story Fun & NostalgiaFrom the rugged outpost of Batuu, I strolled into the colorful world of Toy Story Land. Giant building blocks, oversized toy footprints, and Slinky Dog whizzing by—everything here feels like Saturday morning nostalgia.Slinky Dog Dash is the perfect family coaster: smooth, joyful, fast enough to thrill but still full of charm. Afterward, Toy Story Mania offered a chance to test my aim. I walked away with slightly sore arms and enormous pride at beating my own high score.Lunch: A Break on Sunset BoulevardFor lunch, I wandered to Sunset Boulevard, grabbing a quick bite under the palm trees. Street performers were out, adding a little showbiz sparkle to the day. If you're hungry and in a rush, the snack options here are ideal—plus, there's always the temptation of a Mickey pretzel.Afternoon: Thrills, Shows & A Touch of Disney MagicYou can't visit Hollywood Studios without feeling that mix of excitement and dread as you approach The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. The eerie music, the flickering marquees, the feeling that the building is watching you—it's chilling in the best way. The drop sequence? Still one of the most delightfully unpredictable thrills in all of Walt Disney World.Next door, Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith delivers a lightning-fast launch that sends you straight into a whirlwind of neon. If you love coasters, this is one of those rides that sticks with you.Needing a breather afterward, I caught a showing of For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration. There's nothing quite like watching adults and kids alike belt out “Let It Go” with absolutely no shame. The humor and improv from the royal historians make this show a must-see.Evening: Pixar Place, Characters & Golden Hour MagicAs the sun dipped lower, I wandered around Pixar Place, where character meet-and-greets and playful photo ops made for perfect golden-hour memories. Hollywood Studios takes on a special glow in the evening—neon lights flicker to life, and the park feels cinematic in a whole new way.Dinner at Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo hit the spot: creative dishes with that perfect Galaxy's Edge theming.Night: An Epic FinaleTo end the day, I found a spot for Fantasmic!, the iconic nighttime spectacular. Watching Sorcerer Mickey battle classic Disney villains while fountains, projections, and fireworks dance across the water is the perfect emotional wrap-up to the adventure. As the final burst of fireworks faded, I walked out with tired feet, a happily aching smile, and that warm, glowing feeling Disney seems to conjure so effortlessly.Final ThoughtsA day at Hollywood Studios is more than a park visit—it's stepping into your favorite movies, embracing nostalgia, chasing thrills, and soaking up wonderfully crafted storytelling from morning to night. Whether you're a Star Wars fan, a Pixar lover, a thrill-seeker, or just someone who appreciates Disney magic, Hollywood Studios delivers an unforgettable experience.

A nervous dad, two small kids, and a head full of Six Flags memories walk into Hollywood Studios—and everything changes on Slinky Dog Dash. We invited fellow creator Jarrett to share the real story of taking a young family to Walt Disney World after decades away: planning paralysis, stroller logistics, and the unexpected magic of cast members who turn chaos into calm.We dig into the moment Galaxy's Edge flipped a switch and turned a four year old's casual curiosity into full-on Star Wars fandom, from Kylo Ren's patrol to a life-changing meet with Darth Vader. You'll hear how a simple popcorn bucket became crisis control, why Pop Century and the Skyliner are clutch for parents, and how to balance the urge to “do it all” with strategies that keep toddlers regulated and adults sane. We also talk food realities when kids only want pizza and chicken strips, plus why Disneyland's snack scene and walkable layout might be the next best move. Then we stack parks against a Disney cruise: built-in childcare, stress-free dining, and slower rhythms versus kinetic wonder, character moments, and confidence-building rides. Jarrett shares what he'd do differently next time, how to time shorter Magic Kingdom days around party nights, and why the best plan is sometimes to plan less. Whether you're choosing between cruise or castle, or plotting both, you'll get practical tips, candid takeaways, and a reminder that the right moment often finds you when you stop forcing it.If this helped your planning brain unclench, follow the show, share it with a Disney-loving friend, and leave a quick review so more families can find us.You can find Jarrett at jswordsmith.com and on Instagram and Threads at @js_wordsmith.----Adventures & Mousecapades is a passion project from Alicea & Nathan Novak - two Seattleites addicted to The Mouse. Join us for a thrilling ride through the enchanting world of Disney World roller coasters with our special guest, Nolan, who teams up with Brittany to share their exciting experiences on seven of these magical attractions. Together with Ryan and me, who've braved all nine coasters, we embark on a lively discussion about the highs and lows of each ride. From the beginner-friendly Barnstormer to the intriguing debate over Rock 'n' Roller Coaster's Aerosmith theme, there's a lot to explore about what makes each attraction unique and memorable. As we wind our way through the magical tracks, we tackle the intricate balance between theming, storytelling, and ride mechanics. Our conversation takes a playful twist as we speculate on potential re-themes, like giving Rock 'n' Roller Coaster a Muppets makeover, and delve into the charm of rides like Slinky Dog Dash, which might benefit from a touch more backstory. Each coaster, from the classic Big Thunder Mountain Railroad to the nostalgic Space Mountain, is dissected with a touch of humor and an eye for the imaginative details that Disney does best.Brace yourself for the grand finale as we celebrate the groundbreaking thrills of Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind and the backward adventures of Expedition Everest. These top-tier roller coasters deliver an unforgettable experience, with Cosmic Rewind's cutting-edge mechanics and Expedition Everest's immersive theming setting a high bar. Despite the occasional dizzying effects, we all agree on the magic these rides bring, making us hopeful for even more future innovations from Disney Imagineering. Tune in to experience the joy, the laughs, and the dreams that these coasters inspire in all of us.Send us a textSupport the show

In this podcast, I will be sharing a comprehensive guide on navigating Hollywood Studios with the help of Genie+. Hollywood Studios has the least amount of rides of any Disney park, but it is packed with many exciting attractions, including several high-demand rides with height requirements. This can be a challenge for families with toddlers or young ones who don't meet those requirements. Therefore, intentionally planning your day is essential to make the most of your time at the park. One of the first things to remember is that even if a child meets the height requirement, they might need more time to be ready to experience some of the more intense rides, such as the Tower of Terror. Therefore, assessing if the ride is suitable for your child's age and temperament is crucial before using Genie+ to book your spot.Another thing to consider is that Hollywood Studios offers many shows and dining experiences that are worth experiencing. So, it's wise to have a balanced day and not just focus on the rides. Sometimes, the little things are what make Disney magical, and you want to take advantage of those moments. To maximize your day at Hollywood Studios, I recommend using Genie+ to book your ride times for high-demand attractions, such as the popular Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, Slinky Dog Dash, and Rock 'n' Roller Coaster. You can also use Genie+ to book ride times for the Toy Story Mania and Alien Swirling Saucers, which are family-friendly rides that everyone can enjoy. In conclusion, Hollywood Studios is a fun and exciting park to visit, but careful planning is required to make the most of your time there. By following the strategies I've mentioned, you can ensure that you have a memorable and enjoyable experience at the park. Support the showBlog Instagram YouTube Pinterest Amazon Shop LTK Shop

Hello and welcome to the Enchanted Ears Podcast, where we discuss anything and everything Disney. A few additional things came out of the Star Wars Celebration that give us the feels. A Gaya album will be dropping on May 4th. On the not-so-great news front, The Bad Batch will get a third and final season next year. We did Animal Kingdom and had so much fun, we decided to play Keep, Update, Replace: Hollywood Studios. We assess some of the most popular and, let's face it, unpopular rides in the park. And we even got your opinion on the matter using a poll on our Instagram @enchantedearspodcast. What should be done with Muppet Vision 3D, Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular, Slinky Dog Dash, Rise of the Resistance, Tower of Terror, Rock ‘n' Roller Coaster, Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway, Millennium Falcon Smuggler's Run, and the Frozen Sing Along Celebration? We think some pretty big changes need to occur to revive the tributes to movie magic while also teaching the next generation what amazing possibilities exist with a little spark…of inspiration. Some other big changes, in the form of locking restraints, might be needed if Frozen gets Angela's suggested update to keep Joe from charging the stage to meet a Disney (and cultural) icon. As always, thank you so much for listening! Have a magical week! Submit a question/topic for us to discuss on a future episode. In addition to her, you can also find Anna and Elsa in Norway, Mulan in China, Jasmine in Morocco, and Aurora in France. Lastly, you can see Winnie the Pooh, Joy from Inside Out, Mickey Mouse, and Minnie Mouse in various locations in Epcot.Feedback from the Parks:One of my clients is visiting Walt Disney World right now, and she gave me some photos to share as well as some great feedback on the parks. Here's what she said: “Just a few highlights. I saw the new lion king show yesterday. It's still great even with things left out. I managed to shut down the Toy Story Mania ride when our fan fell out of the backpack and rolled under the tracks. Lol. Lots of people here but it's not bad at all. Last night's fireworks were beautiful but people were packed in like sardines. The new fireworks show at Epcot is beautiful. Can't imagine how great Harmonious will be.”Connect with us! Coaster101 founder John Stevenson just got back from a 4 day trip to Walt Disney World, the first time any of us have been to the resort since it reopened. So this week John joins us to talk about his experience at the four parks. We get into what was good, what was less good, and how to cope with failing to get a Rise of the Resistance Boarding group (Eric and Andrew tried not to rub it in too much that they have both ridden Rise of the Resistance). We also realized there are a lot more discussions we need to have about Disney World, so expect more episodes about it in the future, and if you've got questions about Disney World or things you want us to discuss, email us at podcast@coaster101.com!Also, be sure to subscribe to the podcast so you don't miss an episode! Rockin' Rollercoaster, Star Tours, and the new Slinky Dog Dash!  EAT We visited Australia for a really delicious lamb chop with mint pesto and potato crunchies!  Awesome!  It is a staple of the festival and one you should try in 2019 if it returns!   DRINK We love the Canada booth at Epcot Food and Wine Festival and featured it last year.  This time we celebrated our accomplishment with one of our favorite beers from Canada.  It was Moosehead Lager! It was a refreshing and low ABV beer.  Light and not hoppy, it was a great way to toast and celebrate!   THAT'S A WRAP Thank you for watching!
