This brand-new park is set to reshape how families plan their Florida vacations, and we're here to break down every detail. Will Epic Universe finally shift the balance of power in Orlando, or will Walt Disney World remain the reigning champion of family entertainment? With cutting-edge technology, immersive new lands, and an expansion unlike anything Universal has done before, we explore how this park stacks up against Disney's offerings. We'll take you through each new attraction at Epic Universe, from Super Nintendo World to the How to Train Your Dragon land, and discuss whether Universal has finally designed a park that caters to all ages—including toddlers and younger kids. For years, Universal has been known as the thrill-seeker's destination, but has this new addition changed that perception?Another big question: Is Universal Studios still a quick add-on to a Disney World trip, or has it become a vacation destination in its own right? We'll discuss whether a split-stay between Disney and Universal is the best approach or if Universal has finally reached the level where families can dedicate an entire trip to its resorts and parks. And what does this mean for Disney? With Universal aggressively expanding, is Disney feeling the pressure to innovate faster, or will its legacy and loyal fan base keep it ahead? We'll analyze the competition, speculate on Disney's response, and discuss whether Universal could truly rival Disney's dominance in Orlando. All that and more in this episode of Well Hello Magic! 2024 Character Dining Overview and Rankings

Play Episode Listen Later May 9, 2024 34:29

Send us a Text Message.Let's dive into the topic of character dining, which can add an extra layer of excitement to your Disney trip. Character dining is an experience where you can enjoy a meal with your favorite Disney characters. You can find character dining options in the Disney parks and the resorts. Some of the popular character dining options in the parks include Cinderella's Royal Table, Chef Mickey's, and Crystal Palace. Many people stress over getting all the reservations to character dining meals, but it's important to consider why you should or should not do character dining. One reason to do character dining is to save you time in the parks. Instead of waiting in a long line to meet a character, you can enjoy your meal and interact with the characters as they visit your table. It's also a great way to get pictures with the characters without worrying about the crowds. It's essential to consider the cost of character dining. Prices can vary depending on the restaurant and the time of day. For example, dinner is typically more expensive than breakfast or lunch. Some restaurants, like Cinderella's Royal Table, require pre-payment. To avoid any surprises, it's important to review the menus and prices before making your reservations. When considering character dining, you should also consider how long it takes to enjoy a character meal. Character dining experiences generally last around an hour and a half, so it's important to plan accordingly. You can consider whether it's better to do it on a rest day or use it as a break while at the parks. With so many character dining options, choosing the most suitable one for your family is important. Some restaurants have specific themes, like the Princesses at Cinderella's Royal Table, while others have a broader range of characters, like Chef Mickey's. You should review the restaurant's menus and characters to ensure that it's a good fit for your family. Finally, it's worth noting that there's no need to overload your trip with dining. While character dining can be a fun and memorable experience, plenty of quick-service dining options are available throughout the parks and resorts. You can always mix and match your dining experiences to create a balance that works for your family and your budget. Although it's a relaxed park, many visitors tend to skip Genie+ on this day, believing it to be unnecessary. However, I suggest that you consider using Genie+ at Animal Kingdom as it can make your day more enjoyable by allowing you to bypass the long lines. Moreover, it frees you up to experience all of Animal Kingdom's entertainment without having to worry about lengthy queues.Animal Kingdom has the highest average wait times due to Flight of Passage and Na'vi River, which can result in waits ranging from 45 minutes to 3 hours, consuming most of your day. However, you can prepare for those wait times by planning your day accordingly. Unfortunately, there are very few strategies to avoid the Flight of Passage wait time. Na'vi River is not worth an 80-minute wait time. It's essential to plan your day and prioritize which attractions you want to experience the most.In conclusion, I hope this podcast provides enough information to help you maximize your day at Animal Kingdom by using Genie+. Genie+ Hollywood Studios in 2024

In this podcast, I will be sharing a comprehensive guide on navigating Hollywood Studios with the help of Genie+. Hollywood Studios has the least amount of rides of any Disney park, but it is packed with many exciting attractions, including several high-demand rides with height requirements. This can be a challenge for families with toddlers or young ones who don't meet those requirements. Therefore, intentionally planning your day is essential to make the most of your time at the park. One of the first things to remember is that even if a child meets the height requirement, they might need more time to be ready to experience some of the more intense rides, such as the Tower of Terror. Therefore, assessing if the ride is suitable for your child's age and temperament is crucial before using Genie+ to book your spot.Another thing to consider is that Hollywood Studios offers many shows and dining experiences that are worth experiencing. So, it's wise to have a balanced day and not just focus on the rides. Sometimes, the little things are what make Disney magical, and you want to take advantage of those moments. To maximize your day at Hollywood Studios, I recommend using Genie+ to book your ride times for high-demand attractions, such as the popular Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, Slinky Dog Dash, and Rock 'n' Roller Coaster. You can also use Genie+ to book ride times for the Toy Story Mania and Alien Swirling Saucers, which are family-friendly rides that everyone can enjoy. In conclusion, Hollywood Studios is a fun and exciting park to visit, but careful planning is required to make the most of your time there. By following the strategies I've mentioned, you can ensure that you have a memorable and enjoyable experience at the park. Support the showBlog Instagram YouTube Pinterest Amazon Shop LTK Shop

However, our reservation at the Grand Californian for September 2020 had to be cancelled due to the pandemic. Nevertheless, we are determined to build our dream vacation and make the most of our trip.We cannot wait to experience the magic of Disneyland, from the classic rides like Pirates of the Caribbean to the newer attractions like Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge. Our plan is to explore every corner of the park and compare it to our home park at Walt Disney World. We are also looking forward to trying out all the amazing places to eat, meeting the beloved characters, and enjoying the shows and parades. Disneyland offers so much, and we are confident that this will be a memorable experience for us.
