POPULARITY
Amanda Meadows is a comedy content creator from NC. You may recognize her from any of her many characters she portrays in her videos. Her most popular ones being "Trailer Park Dad" and of course, "Charlene the Trailer Park Queen." Amanda has made quite a name for herself in the content creation world with her hilarious videos that most southerners can relate to in one way or another. She joins Justin on the podcast this week and they share stories back and forth of their life in the south. There are a lot of similarities and just as many differences in the different regions of southern life. We hope you enjoy this episode. It is filled with laughs and hopefully, you will be too.Amanda Meadows: https://amanda-meadows.comJustin Stagner: https://linktr.ee/justinstagnerBusiness E-Mail: stagner@dulcedo.com

As always, we’re working really hard on new episodes of Audience. In the meantime, we're going to take a trip into our archives this week and listen in on a 3 Clips Episode. This one features the podcast Dirt Cheap. Dirt Cheap is all about the world of dirt cheap paperback novels, specifically old pulp novels. Host Evo Terra talks with podcasters Amanda Meadows and Geoffrey Golden about what it is like to collaborate with a loved one on a creative project, the importance of structure (even in a comedy show), and the balance needed with banter. At Castos, we can help you make your show. Aside from our suite of creative tools, we also have a team of professionals who can help bring your show to life. This week, we hit the links with returning friend of the show, Amanda Meadows, to figure out what the hell Will Smith was thinking when he agreed to The Legend of Bagger Vance. The magical negro in the purest sense, this movie opened up so many questions: was Bagger Vance a real person, can Black people take part in magical realism, and in 1930's Georgia there's...no racism? Maybe there's a reason it's Jada's least favorite of Will's movies. We also go on a tangent about the insane Rowdy Roddy Pipper film, Hell Comes to Frogtown. Follow Amanda and all her awesomeness at @amandonium on Twitter and @megamander IG. It’s almost a meme at this point. A group of friends sitting around riffing say “this should be a podcast!.” Often those podcasts don’t work because they lack structure and a clear direction. Dirt Cheap is NOT one of those podcasts. It’s funny, edgy and off the cuff but still manages to keep a basic structure that makes for an easy, entertaining listen. Husband and wife duo, Amanda Meadows and Geoffrey Golden teamed up with production studio Neon Hum to bring us this unique podcast. The premise is actually pretty simple. Geoffrey reads from a dime store novel called “Murder in the Glass Room” a baffling noir novel from the 1940’s, while Amanda reacts in real time (with plenty of commentary and bantering between the two hosts.) The result is a 22 episode story arc that will leave you laughing. The pair chat with Evo about the importance of structure within a show, how they take they goofiness seriously, and in general, their creative process for making Dirt Cheap. Break out the ceiling high blackboards, it's time to run the numbers on Hidden Figures. Released in 2016, it was the feel good Oscar movie of the season. Starring Taraji P. Henson, Octavia Spencer, Janelle Monae, and fictional white man, Kevin Costner. We're joined by the wonderful Amanda Meadows (Oni Press, Limerence Press) who helps us get to the bottom of who this movie was for (not Black people). We discuss white acceptance as a character arc, "racism-lite", and the fact that someone's grandmother 100% spit on Ruby Bridges. We sadly forgot to recommended movies to watch instead this week, but we all agree you should watch Summer of Soul if you haven't yet. There's surprisingly poignant space stuff in there. Follow Amanda at @Amandonium on Twitter and @Megamanda on Instagram. Also check out the newest book she's editing for Oni Press, Orcs in Space by Rick and Morty Co-Creator Justin Roiland, as well as (deep breath) Abed Gheith, Rashad Gheith, Michael Tanner, Francios Vigneault, DJ Chavis and Dave Pender. Time to hit the floor with the JCS crew (That's Jordan, Cameron, and Shawn) as we talk about the 1984 Hip-Hop smash hit, Breakin'. We've all known Kelly was trifling but we needed a special guest to help us...break it down (sorry). Shawn Pryor (Author of the forthcoming graphic novel Fast Break) joins us and talks seeing Breakin' in theaters as well as pitching us a movie with Ozone and Turbo as the stars. This week, Nadia and Steve talk to comic editor and podcast host Amanda Meadows (@amandonium) about the specific topic of how to begin taking care of plants in your home. What are the easiest plants you can take care of without killing them outright? How are your pets ruining that Instagram Millennial plant parent look? Is horticulture the It new thing for a while during the pandemic? And why are Diane Warren's bangs like that? Let's do this again some time!

A conversation with the two hosts, Amanda Meadows and Geoffrey Golden of this read through pulp novel podcast with fun commentary.
This week we welcome two special guests--Amanda Meadows and Geoffrey Golden of the Dirt Cheap podcast--to discuss one of their favorite recent graphic novels: BTTM FDRS, by Ezra Clayton Daniels and Ben Passmore. The book has been compared to Jordan Peele's film Get Out, and features a many-tentacled monster that inhabits an apartment building in a gentrifying Chicago neighborhood. Our guests help us do some panel analysis of the book, and we talk about the horror genre, and dividing line between effective allegory and allegories that feel heavy-handed. We also talk about their podcast, in which they are reading a very bizarre-sounding pulp novel called Murder in the Glass Room, about an L.A. private investigator who is very obsessed with furniture and elevators. You can check out their podcast, Dirt Cheap, here: https://www.neonhum.com/show-pages/dirt-cheap.html You can learn more about the book, BTTM FDRS, at the Fantagraphics site: https://www.fantagraphics.com/products/bttm-fdrs And if you like our podcast, and want more of it in your life, subscribe to our Patreon. $5 a month gets you access to all our bonus episodes, including our newly launched Hunt for the Worst Book of All Time: https://www.patreon.com/BookFight Thanks for listening!
Dirt Cheap Podcast reached out to us for a chat. We sat down via Discord with hosts Amanda Meadows and Geoffrey Golden to talk about their poddy where they are reading a dime store novel Murder in the Glass Room (it's bad, it's really, really bad) chapter by chapter and commenting on it. What followed was a super nerdy chat on the nature of man, interesting comic books and reads that begin with 'Planet of...' Enjoy! Fun conversation with Amanda Meadows and Geoffrey Golden who read and comment on an old noir pulp novel.
"Dirt Cheap" is a new podcast from Neon Hum Media that digs deep into the dollar bins of used bookstores and your grandmother’s storage unit in search of pulp, sass and questionable grammar. Guided by hosts, Amanda Meadows and Geoffrey Golden, each season will explore a forgotten and discarded pulp novel culled from the dust-bin of literary history, reenacting it’s pages through narration and sound design---stopping and starting to respond and bring its oddity and hilarity occasionally into relief.Subscribe to Dirt Cheap on Apple Podcasts or wherever you listen to podcasts.https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/id1534147131

Welcome to our first episode of Book Club! Where we have fun and intriguing guests on our show to read some classic insanity. In our first episode, we have Amanda Meadows and Geoffrey Golden! Two goofballs from Los Angeles who founded The Devastator, which was the only comedy press in America, praised by The AV Club, WIRED, Entertainment Weekly, and more. They’ve also written and created podcasts and audio fiction for Stitcher, Nerdist, Wondery, and Campfire Media. Now, Amanda is a senior editor at comics publisher Oni Press, and Geoffrey is a narrative designer for video game studios around the world.Check out their podcast Dirt Cheap!
In the first episode of Dirt Cheap, hosts Amanda Meadows and Geoffrey Golden plunge into chapter one of Murder in the Glass Room, a Los Angeles noir novel from the 1940s. We meet Phil Norris, a misanthropic, furniture-obsessed bookie who seems to have more enemies than friends.
Editor/Publisher/Podcaster Amanda Meadows and Renie got that WAP for double sink bathrooms! Less so for privilege disparities, fake sticker wood, and healing crystals not pulling their weight in our time of need.
Guys, I am not going to lie to you--the horse is in flashback in this episode, and I was not amused. This is Lucy Lawless's first episode of THE ENTIRE SEASON where she's back in fighting form, and special guest Amanda Meadows (@amandonium) joins us to celebrate the occasion. This episode brings back Gabby's old friend Meleager, but it also brings up a ton of timeline inconsistencies. When Meleager is sentenced to death by a messy bitch who lives for the drama aka a reputably fair judge, Xena and Gabrielle are faced with a dilemma. Gabrielle, who can see the good in people, is convinced that Meleager is innocent. However, Xena has Seen Some Shit, and is torn between trusting her instincts and trusting her friend. Founded by Amanda Meadows and Geoffrey Golden, The Devastator Press is the only all-comedy book publisher in America. Amanda and Geoffrey created “The Devastator” in 2010 as a means to promote comedy books and writers that they love. Since then, their books have been reviewed by Publishers Weekly, Wired, The A.V. Club, Bleeding Cool and ComicsAlliance among other places. If you’re looking to create literary comedy, you’d be hard pressed to find anyone more knowledgable and passionate than Amanda and Geoffrey. Instead of talking about their growing comedy book empire, Amanda’s new book “We Don’t Think You’re Racist!” or Geoffrey’s “Dream It! Screw It!” we just sat in silence for 25 minutes. They took that time to read while I drank a coconut LaCroix.
It's a small world after all, because we're welcoming back our pals from Devastator Press, Geoffery Golden and Amanda Meadows, to talk about their new book, Dream It! Screw It!: 30 Years of Rejected Disney Park Ideas by Imagineer Dipp Disney! Matty P Radio Presents: Marks v. Pros & Saturday Morning Cereal
Take some time this week to remember your original happy hour: Saturday mornings as a kid, waking up at dawn, jumping on the couch with a bowl of chocolate cereal, turning on the ‘toons, tuning out the outside world, and working your way into a sugar hangover before noon. Oh yeah, it's that time of year again: San Diego Comic Con 2016 is here! Whether you're here in town or wish you could be, this show is for you! Grim, Mark, and guest host Slick McFavorite from the Open Your Toys podcast keep the SDCC tradition going by talking about what can be found in the Gaslamp and, more importantly, what might be getting under your radar this year. That's right, it's time for the annual SDCC Alternative Spectacular! This year we once again offer up alternatives to plunking down in the Hall H line for 36 hours just to maybe see that one big panel, including such gems as the Nancy Cartright art exhibit at the Chuck Jones gallery, or some small alternative press from Devastator, or even the alternative "big panel" from major VFX firm Halon Entertainment tucked away in the cavernous Room 6A, and many many more. Featuring interviews with "Bart Simpson" herself Nancy Cartright (Chuck Jones Exhibit), The Music of DC Comics: Volume 2 music producer Peter Axelrad, Devastator Press's Amanda Meadows and Geoffrey Golden, and Halon's visual effects artists Tefft Smith and Ed W. Marsh from the blockbuster Alice Through The Looking Glass. We packed lots of bonus material (Transformers the Movie on Blu-ray SHOUT! Factory #4118, October Toys #5250, Nobility the Series #1949 ) in this one for all of you Cerealites needing something to listen to on the long drive or flight out to sunny San Diego, but all of you who can't make it this year (sorry Slick!) please feel free to listen and get excited with us! After all... This is the only SDCC Alternative show!
This week, the boys welcome Amanda Meadows (The Devastator Press, “We Don’t Think You’re Racist”) to discuss the endlessly entertaining trio of Xavier Woods, Kofi Kingston and Big E: The New Day! Joey and Nick gush about how “Booty” they think the New Day ISN’T, thanks much in part to the group’s charisma and how over Francesca the Trombone is. Also, Stephen tries to convince everyone to love Kombucha. Amanda and Joey enjoy it, but Nick is beside himself and rages because he thinks Kombucha is “bullshit”. Amanda is also a writer of books, her most recent of which is called WE DON’T THINK YOU’RE RACIST, where people of color assure white readers that they’re doing alright. Because no one demanded it...it's an ARTEMIS-centric episode! That's right--Artemis goes solo this week, coincidentally stumbling upon a Nega-Moon plot to...do something evil involving an animal shelter? It's all pretty confusing. Go Go Power Traders! It’s a new episode of Two Packs a Week, the trading card comedy show! Host Geoffrey Golden and special guest Amanda Meadows (The Devastator) take a break from finding moon crystals to open packs of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and Sailor Moon trading cards. While opening the packs, they discuss the Power Rangers monster who got involved with the OJ Simpson trial, scientists demoting Sailor Pluto from her scout status, and whether or not recording this on Valentines Day counts as a romantic date.
This week we take a more grown up look at San Diego Comic Con with our Alternative Preview Night. Sure, you could spend your whole day making it into the one single Episode 7 panel in the infamous Hall H - and behold as Grim and Marke walk you through the mammoth task that it shall be! - but why not take an alternative approach and see what other treasures lie in wait in this year's Gaslamp Quarter? From the alt press booths like our old friends from Devastorpress.com Amanda Meadows, Geoffrey Golden, and Patrick Baker, author of Devastator's newest book A Presidential Dickerbook (we chat with them all about the book and the Con and playing with stickers), to the independent documentary premeires like Byrd McDonald's Vintage Tomorrows, an introspective look at the growing steampunk culture (we talk to Byrd about the movement and get him excited for the glorious steampunk wonders he's sure to see at his first SDCC), all the way to the House of Blues for a fan-fueled night of sexy burlesque from The SuicideGirls (Suicide Girls co-founder Missy Suicide tells us why they trust the Con crowd to help shape the show), so get out of line for Hall H and have look around! Follow us @StayclassySDCC or check us out at Mattypradio.com
This week brings the closest thing to a Power Rangers/Kamen Rider crossover with Sailor Moon crossover when Sailor Moon (sort of) meets Monster Fighter Redman! Can she withstand his Redman Leg Attack? Thankfully, there is another champion of love and justice on her side...Tuxedo Melvin! Jordan and Chris are joined once again by Amanda Meadows of Devastator Press to decide who is the victim in the Molvin romance!
This actually might be the real-life, for serious, best episode of Sailor Moon. We're not one hundred percent sure just yet...but all signs are looking good. Why, you ask? Not just because it's an episode that focuses on Luna. Not just because it's Zoicite's greatest challenge yet. Not just for Makoto's Ami-ogling. It's all of it blended together into...an episode that must be seen to be believed. Jordan and Chris enlist Amanda Meadows of Devastator Press to help put this madness into words!
Asterios Kokkinos, Amanda Meadows, Andy Zaltzman and Josie Long join Dave Holmes for ice-cream tasting, extreme wildlife shows and slash/fic.
