What really happened inside the Haunted Fairbanks House of Sicily Island, Louisiana? In this episode of True Hauntings, we investigate the disturbing story of the Fairbanks House, a historic Louisiana home now known for paranormal activity, ghost investigations, strange noises, shadow figures, alleged EVPs, and the chilling legend of “Henrietta's Closet.”The story centres on Henrietta Fairbanks, a young woman said to have suffered from epilepsy and seizures before her early death in 1922. Over time, her real life appears to have been reshaped into something darker: a tale of confinement, a haunted closet, and a ghost story that has become part of the house's modern paranormal reputation. But is the Fairbanks House truly haunted?Or has Henrietta's story been transformed by rumour, psychic claims, paranormal investigators, ghost-hunting television, YouTube investigations, and the business of haunted tourism?Anne and Renata examine the history, the reported paranormal phenomena, the claims connected to The Dead Files episode “Bent on Revenge: Sicily Island, LA,” and the modern ghost stories surrounding the Haunted Fairbanks House. We look at the witness accounts, the investigation reports, the contradictions, and the way a tragic family story may have evolved into one of Louisiana's most talked-about haunted house legends. This is not just a ghost story. It is a case about illness, grief, folklore, paranormal storytelling, and what can happen when the life of a real woman becomes the centrepiece of a haunting. Was Henrietta Fairbanks truly haunting the house?Or are we looking at a constructed paranormal narrative built from history, rumour, suggestion, and spectacle?Listen as we unpack the legend of The Girl in the Closet: The Haunted Fairbanks House of Louisiana.

In this episode of The FasterFreedom Show, Sam and Lucas break down one of the most talked-about real estate stories in recent memory: Brandon Turner's $15 million real estate mistake. They walk through the history of the deal, what happened, and how an experienced investor can still end up on the wrong side of a major investment. Rather than focusing on the headline number, the guys dig into the real lessons behind the story and why investors at every level—from someone buying their first rental to someone managing a large portfolio—can learn from it.The conversation explores the importance of due diligence, market assumptions, risk management, and how even successful investors can get caught by factors outside of their control. Sam and Lucas also discuss how to think about mistakes in investing, why avoiding every loss is impossible, and how the best investors use setbacks as opportunities to improve their process.Throughout the episode, they connect the lessons from a large-scale deal back to everyday investing decisions, showing how many of the same principles apply whether you're investing thousands of dollars or millions.Adding a little extra fun to the episode, Lucas' son joins the guys during the recording, leading to a few memorable moments and making this one feel a bit different than a typical show.To wrap things up, Sam and Lucas shift into sports and react to the blockbuster trade involving Giannis Antetokounmpo, discussing the impact on the league, potential winners and losers, and what it could mean for the NBA landscape moving forward. From costly investing lessons to one of the biggest NBA stories of the year, this episode blends real estate insight, practical takeaways, and the candid conversations you've come to expect from the show.Join my PREMIUM real estate community on Skool: https://www.skool.com/fasterfreedomrelaunchproFasterFreedom Capital Connection: https://fasterfreedomcapital.comFree Rental Investment Training: https://freerentalwebinar.com

For years, we've been told to build an email list because "the money is in the list." But as social media algorithms become more unpredictable and AI transforms the way people discover and consume content, many experts are wondering if email marketing still deserves a central place in their visibility strategy. More importantly, how do you build authority and genuine relationships when so much online communication feels automated and impersonal? In Episode 496 of Amplify Your Success Podcast, I sat down with email marketing strategist Kylie Kelly to explore why your email list remains one of the most valuable assets you can own and how to use it to build trust, authority, and meaningful business growth without relying on social media. Kylie shares why relationship-first email marketing is becoming even more important in the age of AI, how interactive lead magnets create stronger engagement than traditional PDFs, and why creating memorable experiences helps subscribers become loyal buyers. If you've been wondering whether email marketing still works, how AI is changing subscriber behavior, or what it takes to grow an engaged audience that actually wants to hear from you, this conversation offers a refreshing perspective on building a business you own instead of depending on borrowed platforms. Key Takeaways: [02:55] Why email marketing is becoming even more valuable as AI and social platforms continue to evolve. [04:43] How building genuine relationships—not just growing a bigger list—improves engagement and long-term results. [06:31] Why AI should amplify your voice instead of replacing it. [07:25] How interactive lead magnets create better engagement than traditional downloadable PDFs. [10:24] Why your sender reputation is becoming more important than your subject line. [10:47] The "Start Here" email strategy that replaces the traditional welcome sequence and improves deliverability. [13:09] Four types of emails every authority should rotate through to build trust, credibility, and sales. [17:22] How to intentionally grow an aligned email list through relationship-based collaborations. [20:42] When it's time to move from participating in collaborative events to hosting your own. [23:42] The questions every entrepreneur should ask before saying yes to a collaboration opportunity. [28:24] Why meaningful relationships continue to be one of the strongest growth strategies in business. About The Guest: Kylie Kelly is a visibility strategist on a mission to help women stop building their businesses on borrowed platforms. She teaches entrepreneurs how to grow their audience and authority through email, collaborations, and search-based visibility, instead of chasing algorithms. As the host of The Email Growth Show and founder of a fast-growing off-social Skool community, Kylie helps business owners turn attention into ownership and subscribers into buyers. These engagement failures, and how to fix them, map directly onto the Octalysis Core Drives. Get the free Core Drives in the Wild guide: professorgame.com/WildCD Episode Summary Rob breaks down why Amazon shut down KiroRank, the internal leaderboard that scored staff on raw AI usage on its Kiro developer platform. He shows how stacking Core Drive 2 (Development & Accomplishment) and Core Drive 5 (Social Influence & Relatedness) produced flawless compliance toward the wrong target, a textbook case of Goodhart's law: once a measure becomes a target, it stops being a good measure. Drawing on the Octalysis Strategy Dashboard and Toyota's Five Whys, he lays out the one question to ask before you measure anything. Listeners learn to measure outcomes instead of activity, and how to keep a proxy metric from quietly getting gamed. About the Host Rob Alvarez is Head of Engagement Strategy, Europe at The Octalysis Group (TOG), a leading gamification and behavioral design consultancy. A globally recognized gamification strategist and TEDx speaker, he founded and hosts Professor Game, the #1 gamification podcast, and has interviewed hundreds of global experts. He designs evidence-based engagement systems that drive motivation, loyalty, and results, and teaches LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® and gamification at top institutions including IE Business School, EFMD, and EBS University across Europe, the Americas, and Asia. Key Takeaways Amazon shut down KiroRank, its internal leaderboard scoring staff on AI usage on the Kiro developer platform, after employees set autonomous AI agents on needless tasks just to climb the ranks and inflated the company's compute costs. Goodhart's law explains the failure: when a measure becomes a target, it stops being a good measure. You get what you measure, not what you want, so raw AI usage climbed while productivity went unmeasured. KiroRank stacked Core Drive 2 (Development & Accomplishment) through a progress bar and ranking, and Core Drive 5 (Social Influence & Relatedness) through public status, producing flawless compliance toward the wrong outcome. The more powerful and expensive the tool being measured, the more a gamed metric costs you, which is why Amazon paid in real compute money rather than a rounding error. The Octalysis Strategy Dashboard starts with business metrics by asking what outcome you actually want, using Toyota's Five Whys to move from "increase AI usage" to a result worth hitting, like productivity per employee. Engagement is the value created for users and the business, not click counts or usage volume, which is why most dashboards measure activity when they should measure the outcome. The BMJ called Bad Influence "a timely and eye-opening investigation...essential reading," but spoiler: I don't agree. I found the reporting solid, and she made good points about how social media prioritizes stories over science, but I disagreed with nearly every solution. As an American who values free speech and medical autonomy, I want control over my health and freedom to speak. The author's UK, socialized-medicine perspective leads her to lean toward regulation and centralized answers — that's just not my worldview. I gave the book two stars: worth reading if you want to understand the problems, but don't expect the proposed fixes to support medical autonomy nor freedom of speech. I don't buy printable counseling resources anymore.Haven't for years. But to test a theory on the air, I broke that rule. I bought a popular, well-reviewed anxiety resource from one of the big teacher marketplaces and ran my paper test on it live.I expected to find junk.I didn't.It was polished. Thoughtful. Well-organized. It even cited real research. And that's what made the problem harder to ignore. In this episode, I look at what happens when a school counseling resource looks right, sounds right, and checks the boxes we've been told to trust… but still may not contain the thing a student actually needs. This is not a takedown of one creator. It's a closer look at a much bigger question in school counseling:If you took the worksheets away, would there still be an intervention?Fair warning: this one may change how you look at your shelf.********Join our new Skool for School Counselors community ********Want support with real-world strategies that actually work on your campus? Struggling with retention, churn, or adoption in your product, service, or program? Get the free Core Drives in the Wild guide and see how to apply real behavioral design to your engagement: professorgame.com/WildCD Episode Summary Alan Yeats, CEO of Pocket Sized Hands, a co-development game studio in Dundee, Scotland, explains why the best learning games start with play and add the curriculum second. He walks through real projects, a knife-crime prevention game stopped cold by school firewalls and a stem cell science game built with Cambridge University, to show how co-design keeps everyone pointed at the same goal. Alan argues that the job is to find the underlying play and the real "why" behind a request, not to cram years of lessons into one product. Listeners come away with a practical filter for any educational or engagement project: build a genuinely good game first, then weave the learning in so people actually engage. Key Takeaways Pocket Sized Hands built a polished Jackbox-style game to steer young people away from knife crime, then hit a wall when school IT firewalls blocked the phone-to-screen connection the experience ran on. The end user is never the only stakeholder a product has to satisfy. For Cambridge University, the studio corrected public misconceptions about stem cell science by running back-to-basics workshops to isolate the one message that mattered, rather than cramming an entire syllabus into a single game. Alan Yeats's rule for education clients who want to throw the whole textbook at a game: make it genuinely fun first, then layer the lessons in, because curriculum with no play earns no engagement to teach against. Co-design converts a client from someone who merely commissioned a product into an owner who evangelizes it, which is why Pocket Sized Hands opens projects with a workshop for facilitators and real users instead of a written spec. Pitching the visual register openly, from a corporate LinkedIn-style progress bar to a fully magical world, lets a team test how far it can push a client before the client pushes back with "that is too much fun." But Brian didn't stop there. He took everything he learned about money, leverage, and wealth creation and built a diverse investment portfolio spanning real estate, crypto, and beyond - and now runs one of the top investing communities on Skool. In this episode, Brian lays out his step-by-step investing plan for the next five years, what the current market is telling him, and why the moves you make right now will define your financial position for the decade ahead.
