Sigur Rós er einstakt fyrirbæri ? fyrirmynd og viðmið fjölmargra hljómsveita um allan heim. Sigur Rós á aðdáendur um víða veröld og er núna komin HEIM til Íslands til að halda lokatónleika heimstónleikaferðar sinnar í Laugardalshöll næsta föstudagskvöld. Sigur Rós er búin að spila 70 tónleika í útlöndum á árinu og lokatónleikarnir eru þá númer 71. Þeir fóru um Suður Ameríku, norður Ameríku, Ástralíu og Nýja Sjáland, Singapore, Japan, Thailand, og svo um alla Evrópu núna í haust. Þeir hafa verið fjórir á sviðinu allan túrinn, en á tónleikunum hérna heima verður strengjasveitin Amiina með þeim sem og blásarasveitin Brassgat í bala í fyrsta sinn í 14 ár. Sigur Rós hlaut heiðursverðlaun Íslensku Tónlistarverðlaunanna 2021 og þegar allt er tekið með hefur Sigur Rós gengið mjög vel í flestu. En lífið hefur samt ekki verið eintómur dans á rósum og liðsmenn hljómsveitarinnar hafa fengið yfir sig dálítið pus hér og þar á undanförnum árum. Sigur Rós er í aðalhlutverki í Rokklandi í dag og gestur þáttarins er Georg Hólm bassaleikari og einn af stofnendum Sigur Rósar.

Since beginning a Pateron account in 2018 enabling followers to fund his film projects, O'Reilly's camera lens is increasingly more focused on discovering and supporting little-known emerging artists, to help “represent some of the most talented but hard to pigeonhole musical visionaries in Ireland today”. Now almost a full time vocation, his efforts to seek out and endorse new music extends to the curation of an annual rising-artist stage at the renown Body&Soul festival, and the production of a critically acclaimed web series This Ain't No Disco, co-created with eminent Irish broadcaster Donal Dineen of ‘No Disco' fame. Hur gick det till när Island med sina få invånare skapade sitt världsberömda musikunder, där en rad fantastiska artister lyckats erövra världsscenen? Sofia Bagge hittar på Island en musikscen byggd på kamp, samarbete och viljan att realisera stora drömmar med små medel. Resan går från Reykjavik till fjordlandskapen i nordväst. Vi träffar den folkkäre artisten Mugison, som skapat den välkända musikfestivalen "Aldrei fór ég sudur", där lokalbefolkningen delar scen med några av landets stora artister. Vi hör även intervjuer med Grammyvinnande världsnamnet Emiliana Torrini, nyskapande Hildur Gudnadóttir, cellist och tonsättare, samt Sólrún Summarlidardóttir och Maria Huld Markan Sigfúsdóttir från den eklektiska gruppen Amiina. Alla ger de sin syn på det isländska musiklivet och  funderar om den majestätiska naturen verkligen spelar någon roll i musiken och varför så många islänningar sysslar med musik. Medverkar gör också musikskolerektorn Ingunn Ósk Sturludóttir och Helga Magrét Marzellíusardóttir, Islands yngsta kördirigent. På Island finns musiken överallt. Amatörscenen är stor, samtidigt har landet många framgångsrika professionella musiker och internationellt uppmärksammade musikfestivaler. Island har även en unik musikhistoria. Det är inte länge sedan symfonikerna spelade i en gammal biograf, konstmusiken gjorde inte entré förrän i början av 1900-talet och det karga klimatet har förstört både husväggar och ömtåliga instrument. Det borde vara omöjligt, men den lilla ön med lika många invånare som Malmö är en klart lysande stjärna på den internationella musikhimlen. En P2 Dokumentär i två delar av Sofia Bagge.
