News: Some big updates are coming to the hotels at the Disneyland Resort. This Spring, Napa Rose will close to undergo a refurbishment that will bring French oak flooring and columns, which is the type of wood used to make wine barrels, new lighting, and materials throughout the restaurant. The High Key Club will open at the Disneyland Hotel, celebrating Disneyland in 1955. The overall aesthetic will be mid-century modern and will nearly double the previous club-level lounge in the Adventure Tower. A second club-level lounge will open at the Grand Californian. The new two-story space will celebrate the California Craftsman style and be located on the 5th and 6th floors overlooking the Great Hall lobby. New decor will added to every guest room, including the Disney Vacation Club Villas. The new suites will feature two bedrooms. The Coco Suite will have Oaxacan [Wah-Hah-Kihn]-style architecture with terracotta tiling, Mexican artisan quilted and woven pieces, a fireplace, and more. The Incredibles Suite will be a mid-century modern design with a “spy-fi” twist. A room designed by Edna Mode herself will be one of the spaces, along with a hand-scanning prop at the entryway, among other special effects. Disney Wonderful World of Sweets, which replaces Marceline's Confectionary opened last week. The shop is spacious and offers many of the same items as Marceline's. Storyland Boutique, which is in the old Wonderground location, also opened offering a ever-changing theme. Karl Bacon, who passed away in 2008 at 98, and Ed Morgan, in 2009 at 93, worked for Arrow Development, the company Disney hired to work with them to create attractions for Disneyland. Karl and Ed came up with the idea of tubular steel tracks to make the attraction possible. News: The original version of the Haunted Mansion opened this week, and with it a new bride has appeared! The new bride replaces the previous Constance Hatchaway bride at the end of the attic scene. The new bride appears to be floating above the ground, holding a candelabra instead of a hatchet, with the return of the beating heart effect. In addition to the new bride, her candelabra can now be seen in the endless hallway, and inside a crypt in the graveyard scene. She is joined by a one-eyed cat, similar to the one-eyed cat that was installed previously. A new Toontown sign has been installed at the entrance to the land ahead of it opening later this month. The entire path is being worked on not only to replace the entrance to the treehouse but also to re-grade the walkway as well. The one that we were most interested in was the fire damage to the New Orleans Square train station. Both ends of the building show signs of fire damage. Railroad Cast Members reported that some equipment in the building that operates the station lights was damaged, so they are using radios at the moment. February 24th is the date this parade returns to the parade route at Disneyland. The parade is coming back as a part of the 100 Years of Wonder celebration which is kicking off at Disneyland. Happy Tuesday, January 7th Everyone! Weather in the parks today will be partly cloudy with a high of 73 degrees. Park hours today, Disneyland will be open from 8 am - 11 pm and DCA 8 am - 9 pm. The Disneyland resort just announced Kids everywhere and Southern California residents can enter the parks for $67 per person, Per Day with 3 day, 1 Park per day Tickets. Park Hopper options are also available. Tickets are available for purchase through May 18th, 2020, Eligible guests may purchase up to 5 tickets per person, per day and prices are the same for adults and kids. This Special Ticket also includes Magic Morning. These tickets can be purchased online at Disneyland.com and So Cal residents can redeem their tickets on any 3 separate days through May 21st. For guests outside SoCal, these tickets can be purchased for kids ages 3 - 9 and up to 8 tickets per person. Tomorrow, January 8th is Anaheim Ducks Day. The event will be held in Hollywood Land in DCA from 8 am - 9 pm. With the Anaheim Ducks Cavalcade beginning at 1:30 pm.
