When Andrea asked if we could do a “Rant Episode” of the Wake + Bake Podcast, I was … not interested. After all, who wants to listen to a couple of ladies diss on our favorite plant? But, she's persistent and came prepared to go off about some topics that had obviously been bugging her like… Budtenders being responsible for recommending medicine The dangers of the entire lab testing industry How terrifying frankencannabinoids are And more We spent some time passionately discussing these issues that are plaguing the cannabis industry. I'd love to tell you that by the end, we'd solved all the problems … but that didn't happen. Instead, we found hope in the value of sharing our love of Cannabis with the world so that eventually, we could leave these issues in the past (and we decided we'd need a part 2).
One of the major concerns and arguments about legalizing cannabis is safety. Will more kids get their hands on it and start using harder drugs? Will it cause our brains to turn into goo? Will it cause more violence? And… the biggie - will legalizing cannabis cause infinite 10-car pile-ups and untold amounts of fender benders in grocery store parking lots? For medical Cannabis users, this question is more personal. Is it safe to use my medicine and do daily activities? If I use Cannabis, will I lose my ability to drive safely? And if I am using Cannabis as medicine, can I get in trouble with the law? Andrea and Corinne sat down this week and looked at the data and the laws, and what they found was pretty incredible. If you use cannabis and drive a vehicle, this episode is for you. We'll cover: - [ ] Is cannabis more or less safe than allergy medicine? - [ ] Can you get arrested for cannabis intoxication if you haven't even used cannabis that day? - [ ] Is cannabis really causing more car accidents in legal states? We're so excited to share what we uncovered with you.
Maybe you've heard that cannabis is likely being "rescheduled" in the US. Since this all began in late spring, our calls at the Cannabis Coaching Institute have been filled with countless questions and speculations. To get to the bottom of things, Corinne sat down and closely read the proposal. And what she found wasn't exactly butterflies and rainbows. So, this brings us to the million-dollar question: Is this truly a step towards legalization, or is it something we've all been dreading—the corporate and Pharma takeover of this powerful plant medicine? Corinne sat Andrea down to share what she'd read and discuss what it all means. It was a real roller coaster of an episode for her poor Canadian heart. We're not just blowing smoke when we say that you will not want to miss this episode, and you'll need to hop on it ASAP. If you're a patient, industry professional, cannabis educator or coach, or you just love this plant, what's happening could change everything. Unfortunately, there's a deadline approaching—July 22, 2024. Listen in today to find out why that date is so important. In our latest Wake + Bake podcast episode, "Is Weed Going to Be Legal?", we'll cover: * What "rescheduling" of cannabis means * Whether or not cannabis will be treated like a pharmaceutical * What the new approach means for legal states and patients * The necessity of having "live freakouts" like Andrea does during the podcast * What we can (and should) do about it Tune in to get the full scoop and to find out how you can make a real difference in how cannabis is legalized in the US. Cannabis and cancer show notes When Dr. Joe Goldstrich's book - the Cannabis Cancer Connection - came out, we rushed to get him on the podcast. Tech difficulty after tech difficulty held that conversation from being published, but we're here with a short overview about what we discussed with one of the leading clinicians who uses cannabis to treat Cancer patients. Dr. Joe's book came at a time when cancer is on the rise, especially for younger people so we're so excited to share this with you. In this conversation, we share the science and tools he talks about using in his practice and in the book. We'll cover: What we do and don't know about cannabis and cancer. How to use cannabis alongside conventional cancer treatments. What the science says about difficult to treat cancers and cannabis. When NOT to use cannabis, or specific cannabinoids. What cannabis products to use for cancer, and which ones to avoid.
In this episode of the Wake + Bake Podcast, cohosts Andrea Meharg and Corinne Tobias dive into cannabis use between the sheets to see what science says about cannabis and sex. In this primer episode on Cannabis and Sex, we'll start the conversation about this powerful plant and whether or not it can help elevate your sex life. This week, we went down the rabbit hole to find out: Is cannabis good for sex and sexual health? How was cannabis used throughout history when it comes to sex? What does the data say about cannabis consumers and sex? Can cannabis really help you achieve a several minute long orgasm? What is weed lube? How to make weed lube (plus a NEW recipe from Corinne) We know it's a big topic and this short podcast just scratches the surface, but we're so excited to share what we uncovered with you. AND… because you're a Wake + Bake listener, you get access to the newest quick and easy, condom-friendly weed lube recipe we talked about in the episode. [Corinne also created a club hit called “Rocket Ship” at the very end at the episode for Andrea for Valentine's day and she thinks it's hilarious, so make sure to stay tuned for that
Ep 209 - Are Cannabis Vape Pens Safe? In this episode of the Wake + Bake Podcast, cohosts Andrea Meharg and Corinne Tobias dive into what we do and don't know about the safety of cannabis vape pens. Vape pens are the second most popular product in the cannabis industry (the first being flower), and they grow in popularity every year. It's no wonder why. Cannabis vape pens are convenient, tasty, discreet, and potent, but are they as safe as people in the cannabis industry want you to believe? We went down the rabbit hole to find out: What's in cannabis vape pens? How are vape pens made? What was behind the wave of vape related lung injuries and deaths in 2019? Could vape pen batteries cause injury (or even death)? Are vape pens safer for your lungs than smoking cannabis? Is there a way to use a vape pen without any risk? This research yielded some of our most shocking findings since we started this podcast, so if you're a vape pen user, cannabis enthusiast, healthcare or wellness professional, you won't want to miss the verdict.

Blunt Blowin' Mama connects with the brilliant Shanel Lindsay who founded a business that encourages a cannabis consumer to create their own edibles. Ardent Cannabis’s decarboxylator offers an elevated cooking experience without the mess or smell. Her product has been tested extensively and her team uses data to make sure the user experience is optimal. Shanel’s medical journey with cannabis started when she was diagnosed with an ovarian cyst, after researching the effects Tylenol and other pharmaceutical drugs can have on the body, she realized that cannabis was the best way to treat her illness. Living in a prohibition state created significant hurdles when it came to making sure she had access to her medicine. Back in 2010, before weed became recreationally or medically legal in Massachusetts, Shanel was arrested for possession of marijuana in the amount of 14 grams. Not only was this situation scary, the ramifications of being a practicing attorney with a possession charge could be a career ender. She expected to receive a ticket but was completely shocked when the officers insisted on bringing her in. Being an attorney Shanel knew that advocating for her rights was the only way she was going to receive fair treatment. From then on she was an avid petitioner for marjiuana legalization while fighting for social equity for people of color in the industry.
