YouTube LiveStream Show Replay - After losing their preseason opener, the Seahawks followed it up with another loss to the Denver Broncos at home. This game was just as ugly as last week, if not worse. Most of this can be point to the Seahawks starting their 3rd string quarterback and resting 21 players after resting 33 last week. The opening kick started with Ben Burr-Kirven tearing his ACL, and just went downhill from there. There were some bright spots. Rasheem Green continues to look good. DJ Dallas literally did everything for the Seahawks last night. The secondary played better. Lots to discuss. How worried are you? Come join the chat and Go Hawks! This Saturday at 1pm PT is the deadline for the Seahawks to have their roster cut down from 90 players to 53. Alistair Corp joins the show to talk about his latest roster projection going into the final preseason game against the Oakland Raiders. We start out on offense and discuss whether or not C.J. Prosise deserves to remain on the roster and whether or not the team will carry a fullback into Week 1. Wide receiver has questions regarding who will be the fifth and maybe sixth spot in that group and there are questions of who to keep at tight end. Fortunately there aren't any difficult decisions when it comes to the three special teams players. After the break we take a look at the defensive side of the ball and the many questions on the defensive line. Could they decide to only carry three interior defenders so the team can carry upwards of six defensive ends to help provide depth with so many injuries going into the first week of the season. Linebacker provides the greatest amount of depth, which means that it will be tough to keep Austin Calitro, Shaquem Griffin and rookie linebacker Ben Burr-Kirven. Alistair thinks that despite a strong preseason, DeShawn Shead may not be able to hold a spot on the roster considering the amount of depth and young talent competing at safety with McDougald, Thompson, Blair and Amadi all appearing to be locks to make the final 53-man roster. The Seattle Seahawks 2019 Draft class has been finalized and the team comes away with 11 draft picks after having only four selections a week ago. John Schneider made a record number of trades and even traded up on a couple occasions including a move up into the second round to pick up a wide receiver who was initially expected to be one of the first off the board in the entire draft.Rob Staton and Brandan Schulze run through the selections from the Seahawks draft and talk about what will be one of the biggest criticisms of the draft and how the team may have a plan for addressing additional needs along the defensive line. Rob talks about how Seattle could even consider going after Jadeveon Clowney, with the rumors that the Houston Texans may have been looking to get into a deal with the Kansas City Chiefs.A report came out during the draft that Doug Baldwin may have played his last snap in the NFL and is considering retirement. Rob talks about how that could have played a role in the Seahawks grabbing two receivers with their first five picks. The slide down the draft board for D.K. Metcalf was a long one and when the Seahawks selected him at the end of round two, the emotion came out in his phone call with Schneider and Pete Carroll. Tune in to hear discussions around each one of the Seahawks selections: L.J. Collier, Marquise Blair, D.K. Metcalf, Cody Barton, Gary Jennings, Phil Haynes, Ugo Amadi, Ben Burr-Kirven, Travis Homer, Memarcus Christmas and (announced live as we were recording the podcast) John Ursua. Ben Burr-Kirven is an absolute beast. I had the privilege of watching him dominate in high school, alongside my younger brother, but the spectacle that is Ben Burr-Kirven mauling dudes did not end there. Ben went on to become the nation's leading tackler this past season with 176 tackles. He is expected to get drafted in this weekend's NFL draft. We managed to have a nice conversation about his football career, past, present and future. --------------------- Here's his highlight tape from College. It's pretty sick. Readyforthedraft.com's Gregg Schutze shares his passion for the NFL draft and takes you on a journey leading up to the 2019 NFL Draft. Episode 13 kicks off with Gregg taking a look at Duke's Daniel Jones. Is he a sure-fire 1st Round pick in 2019? Should he come back for his senior season? Another year under head coach David Cutcliffe saw the Manning brothers become a more complete prospect. It may behoove Jones to do the same. Gregg also looks at players flying under the radar. Trayveon Williams and Darrell Henderson are putting up huge stats, but aren't getting the notoriety they deserve, while Ryquell Armstead and Karan Higdon lead the charge for seniors in the backfield. Andy Isabella is a viable possession WR while Preston Williams, Antoine Wesley and Jonathan Duhart can be weapons on the outside. TE Donald Parham of Stetson could be the sleeper of this year's draft while Max Scharping and Andre Dillard are sneaky good OT's up front. Jaylon Ferguson is closing in on Terrell Suggs' sack record while Oshane Ximines is putting up big stats, but isn't a name many are familiar with yet. Gerald Willis has emerged along the interior defensively whle Cortez Broughton has finally put it all together. Daniel Wise and Chris Slayton will be nice interior players, while Kingsley Keke looks more and more like a five-technique in a 34 defense. In the New NFL, a LB has to be able to run. E.J. Ejiya, Ulysees Gilbert III, Chase Hansen, Germaine Pratt and Terrill Hanks fit that mold, while Khalil Hodge and Ben Burr-Kirven are tackling machines inside. Looking for a big CB? You're in luck as Rock Ya-Sin Derrick Baity, Jamal Peters and Justin Layne all have tremendous length and have all proven to have the ball skills needed to succeed at the next level. And at Safety, we know that Deionte Thompson, Johnathan Abram, Taylor Rapp and Chauncey Gardner-Johnson are the top safeties in this year's draft class, but Cedarius Rookard and Darnell Savage, Jr. can make plays too. And if you're looking for FCS prospects, be sure to watch for WR Keelan Doss, RB Ryan Fulse, DE Derick Roberson, DT's Isaiah Mack and Sterling Shippy, LB Sterling Sheffield and CB's Jimmy Moreland and Nasir Adderley.
