The Minnesota Vikings have now lost 2 games in a row by a total of 4 points. People say it was because of just two plays. Do you believe that? If you win on a lot more plays, these two aren't necessary. It is however for health of the Vikings' season that they grab victory against the Seattle Seahawks. This has been a team that has beaten Mike Zimmer's Vikings every time they have played. Will this game be any different? This will be the first time the Seahawks have taken on the Vikings at US Bank Stadium. The stadium, packed full of fans chanting Odin, and SKOL, will make a difference. They should have the Seahawks offensive linemen false starting. The Vikings defense which has yet to jell in two games, can now feed off the fans making noise, cheering, and down right amped up energy that flows within that glorious bowl and ETFE roof. Russell Wilson is getting older, but may be wiser and can still hurt you. He has two wide receivers in DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett that the purple secondary will have to shut down. A hard task when Bashaud Breeland hasn't lived up to expectations. Will we see Cameron Dantzler eventually take over? The “Meaty Boys” on the defensive line should have a better day, but Wilson can still run. Can they contain him? Then can the Vikes' offense continue to cook? Kirk Cousins has been playing well and a legitimate WR3 has been found in KJ Osborn. Can the running game get going, and set up more play-action? Dalvin Cook is recovering from an ankle injury and hasn't practiced all week. We might see more of Alexander Mattison as a result. The big question though is can the Vikings get the win and beat the Seahawks? On list topics: 1) Chris Carson - who has averaged 4.6 yards per carry against us.  2) Russell Wilson and his career stats against the Vikings. 3) Conerbacks D.J. Reed and Tre Flowers. 4) What kind of performance will Justin Jefferson, Adam Thielen and KJ ‘Ozzy' Osborn need to have a day against those guys?  5) Vikings corners Bashaud Breeland, Patrick Peterson, and Mackensie Alexander expectations. If they don't play better Sunday it's going to be another frustrating day for us Viking fans because someone needs to cover DJ Metcalf and Tyler Lockett. We are celebrating the official end of the offseason! Next week we'll be previewing the first Seahawks game of the 2021 season when they take on the Colts. However, this week, we are running down the Seahawks roster after Pete Carroll and John Schneider made their cuts down to 53. There were some interesting choices on offense as Seattle kept three quarterbacks, but only decided to hold onto four wide receivers. We also look at the practice squad and that's where so many of the receivers ended up. On defense, there is a lot of optimism around the defensive line, but the team could still use some veteran help on the interior. The Seahawks recognize that they still need help at cornerback because they continued to add to the group this week after the cuts. Sidney Jones was brought it to compete at corner. Could he end up taking over for Tre Flowers who earned his starting spot to kick off the season? In the second half of the show, we talk about the 49ers quarterback situation and contrast it with what's going on in New England. We also follow up on a conversation from the previous show and learn from a listener how Abe Lincoln used to like to pick fights. If you're outside the Seattle area and struggle to find ways to watch the games, several listeners chime in with their different strategies for watching the Seahawks. Do better call outs go to Adam's neighbor for rejecting his fantasy football advice and to Scott Zolak for wanting Cam Newton to essentially get off his lawn. Better at life honors go to the suckers who bought Adam's old vehicle and to Blitz for helping to raise money for shoes for kids. The Seahawks are now into the second week of free agency and Jadeveon Clowney has not yet made a decision to return to the Seahawks or move on to another team. What is making this decision so difficult for Seattle's top pass rusher? In the meantime, the Seahawks made two moves that have some potential upside for the roster by sending a 5th round draft pick to Washington for a cornerback going into the final year of his contract. Quinton Dunbar received the 2nd highest coverage grade from PFF last season, but there is some important context for fans to at least be aware of before crossing off Tre Flowers as a member of the starting lineup in 2020. John Schneider also brought in a veteran wide receiver. Where does that move rank among his 10 best decisions so far this offseason? Especially considering what might be some of the best decisions on which players would stay in Seattle and which were allowed to move on. Despite the moves, there continue to be glaring spots for improvement along the defensive line. Mike Daniels in the interior should be a key target for Seattle while there are some veteran pass rushers who remain available as possible upgrades. In the second half of the show we learn that Germain Ifedi is heading to the Chicago Bears, which ads to a growing list of questionable moves that appear to be a desperate attempt to compete in the NFC North. Todd Gurley was cut by the Los Angeles Rams and since joined the Falcons. We also discuss how Tom Brady will look (and sound) while playing quarterback for Bruce Arians. Following the loss to the Green Bay Packers in the divisional round of the playoffs, we've heard a lot of the blame get placed on Pete Carroll, Lano Hill and Tre Flowers. But this show is about focusing in on areas that go beyond the things that stood out most. One thing being overlooked in this game is the inability to come up with impactful plays on special teams. Travis Homer was targeted on special teams and exposed as an ineffective returner on kickoffs. Michael Dickson had a moment to take us back to that special season he had in 2018. Instead of spinning the ball to the sideline in the closing minutes of the game, the ball went into the end zone for a touch back. On the opposite side of the ledger, there were important moments and key plays to recognize as the most impactful if the Seahawks would have been able to pull out the victory. MNF in Review The Monday night football matchup featuring the Seattle Seahawks and the Minnesota Vikings super-ceded many of our expectations. As a matter of fact, Vegas anticipated a lower scoring game setting there total points line at 48.5 and as the seconds ticked away in the second quarter the score sat at 17-10 in favor of the visiting Northmen and it appeared that the American Football audience would be privy to another knock down drag out low scoring affair. Seattle punted on the opening possession of the game and Minnesota got the scoring started with a 6 play 80 yard drive capped off with a 2 yard td run by Dalvin Cook. Seattle quickly responded with a td of their own finishing off a 14 play 75 yard drive that all but ended the 1st quarter. 7-7 going into quarter number 2 and the first of many fireworks exploded and sent its sparks across the gridiron and throughout social media. The teams traded punts to begin the second quarter and after Minnesota floundered on their 2nd possession in the quarter, Seattle took the ball ready to do damage. Russel Wilson Dropped back to pass to Jacob Hollister sitting in the middle of the field for a first down. As Wilson lets the ball fly, #96 of Minnesota Armon Watts bats the ball back in the direction of Wilson who reactively bats the ball again. It then floats in the air like a stray bit of cotton from a cottonwood tree and eventually falls gently into the waiting arms of newly returned from injury Anthony Harris who in turn takes it into the end zone for a 20 yd Interception return for a td his 4th INT on the season puts Minnesota up 14-7 and momentum seems to have swung back to the Vikings, SKol. However, Russel Wilson, not one to be phased by flukey circumstances engineers a 6 play drive resulting in a field goal cutting the lead to only 4 points. Kirk Cousins replies with his own scoring drive capped off by a Dan Bailey 47 yd field goal. 17-10 Vikings at the end of 1 Half of play.  But of course, the 2nd half featured some of the most enjoyable football seen on Monday Night this season. The 3rd quarter began with a Vikings punt followed by a Seahawks drive that took 9 plays, covered 71 yds in 4 mins 20 seconds. 17-17 and it is a whole new ball game. Minnesota suffers a brutal loss on their next possession. A first down run by Dalvin Cook ends in a fumble and in his exiting the game, never to return due to an aggravation of an SC joint injury. SC stands for Stern O Clavicular joint. The joint between the sternum and clavicle bone basically speaking. Follow @ProfootballDoc on Twitter for the best in game analysis on injuries, Dr. David Choa is fantastic. Now, in-spite of excellent field position, the Vikings Defense held strong forcing Seattle to settle for a field goal taking the lead for the first time in the contest 20-17, with 5:46 left in the 3rd. Minnesota struggled on the ensuing drive to move the ball, a false start and dropped passes led to yet another Viking Punt, their 4th of the game. Now of course Russel Wilson wasn’t going to pass up on this opportunity and his streak of big play tds thrown against the coverage of Xavier Rhodes continued hitting David Moore on a 60 yd bomb, it looked as if Rhodes expected safety help and let Moore get by him more than he normally would have and the scoreboard read 27-17 Seahawks, scoring 17 un-answered points in the 3rd quarter. Kirk Cousins began the next drive with little time left to wrap up the 3rd quarter and after only having 3 INTs on the season, a quick pass to the sideline on an out route to Diggs goes through the normally sure handed receivers hands and bouncing into the arms of the Seattle defender Tre Flowers and it appeared that all was lost for Minnesota. It didn’t get any better, 3 touches of the ball for Rashaad Penny was all it took to get Seattle into the end zone once again and the score showed... Seahawks fans can be excited that DK Metcalf lived up to the hype by breaking a record held by the greatest wide receiver in Seahawks history. The Steelers are coming off an embarrassing loss to New England, and historically that was been bad news for their opponents when they play at home the following week. The Seahawks have completely eliminated paper tickets and Softy isn't happy about it. It's clearly an attempt to make it more difficult to re-sell tickets on the secondary market ...outside of their own platform of course. As long as the Hawks and the NFL can make a buck off of the resales, they don't mind. Hugh Millen weighs in on the latest news and notes from the Hawks and Huskies. Dick Fain talks with cornerback Tre Flowers about his first season in the NFL, and the step forward he hopes to take this season. Nobody is talking about Salvon Ahmed, and it's too bad because he may be one of the brightest stars on this Husky team. Softy and Dick read the same headline back-to-back. Vacation mode has been turned on already.

With Trey Flowers (not Tre Flowers) reportedly agreeing to a $90 million deal with the Lions, Frank Clark must be a happy man. Clark has equal or better numbers in almost every category. The saga continues. Russell Westbrook can't stop getting into it with fans at games. This one might have been a bit more serious with the fan allegedly using racist language, although said fan tells a different story. It's one thing to boo a fan, it's another to use abusive language. There's another scandal in college athletics, with this one involving parents allegedly paying bribes in order to get their kids into schools. In some cases the kids were made out to be student athletes which they were not. Tomorrow we'll probably have a whole new scandal. Mike Hopkins was named Pac-12 Coach of the Year yesterday. The Dawgs lost their final game of the regular season, but still find themselves in great position for the NCAA Tournament. We get the latest on how the team is preparing to re-group after the last few games.

Before discussing some better than expected performances, particularly at safety, a few news items jumped out in the news today as the Seahawks reportedly met with Kyler Murray at the combine. Rob Staton from seahawksdraftblog.com is back on the show to remind us why that was a smart move even with Russell Wilson locked in at quarterback. Wilson is going into his final year and Joel Corry said on KJR Monday that Russell's contract will need to start around $35 million per year. The Seahawks also announced that they've placed the franchise tag on Frank Clark ahead of Tuesday's deadline. Jachai Polite reportedly did not interview well, but Rob thinks the reports could be based on Polite reaction following his talks with teams. However, scouts are calling him on bailing on the workouts and that could be what causes his stock to tumble a bit. There were a number of safeties that improved their stock in a class that was not expected to be as athletic as they proved to be on the final day of the NFL Scouting Combine. There were three safeties that ran in the 4.3s or better. The fastest player of the weekend was a safety who ran 4.29. Juan Thornhill had an impressive 44-inch vertical to go along with his 4.4 speed. Rob says there's one safety to look at as a possible safety to cornerback convert, similar to Tre Flowers last year for Seattle and that's USC safety Marvell Tell. Taylor Rapp of Washington had an impressive day, topping the field in the short shuttle, a drill that measures short-area quickness. Among the cornerbacks, there were five who tested very well and also fit the Seahawks profile: Mike Jackson, Miami; Isaiah Johnson, Houston; Lonnie Johnson, Kentucky; Justin Layne, Michigan State, and Ken Webster of Mississippi St. Of all those players, Rob says Lonnie Johnson would be the player most likely still around in the range that Seattle may be interested in taking a corner. The others could be going in the first two rounds of the draft. Rob offers some final thoughts on the class as a whole and the guys discuss where Seattle may be most likely to go while trying to project 2-3 years out. One of our listeners on YouTube says Khalil Hodge is a Seahawks linebacker and Rob says there is a lot to like about him and could be a potential late-round prospect for Seattle. What were the biggest issues coming out of the game against the Broncos? Was it the 21 pressures allowed by the offensive line or the defensive line's inability to get pressure on Case Keenum? Was it the inexperience of Tre Flowers at corner or the dominant performance by Emmanuel Sanders? Why does the Denver Broncos field crew seem to have problems painting a solid white line in the end zone? We hit all of the big questions this week while also looking at some of the positive aspects of the game. Will Dissly did something no other Seahawks rookie has done in the history of the franchise. Chris Carson came out of the game looking like the clear favorite to carry the football moving ahead. Michael Dickson was dropping mortar shells onto the field, or maybe it was some other kind of explosive. Will and Nicholas from Da Bears Brothers join the show this week to break down what we can expect with the matchup against Chicago this week. Have Bears fans had their moment yet that signals Trubisky as a clear franchise quarterback? The guys also let us know what matchups on the offensive line to watch as there are some questions over one lineman's ability to hold his job in the starting lineup with a clear favorite to succeed him waiting on the bench. The guys talk about how they were riding high at halftime during Sunday Night Football, until Rodgers came back and did Aaron Rodgers things. In the later part of the show, the guys make an important announcement regarding the pickem league and how listeners should proceed with caution when picking their Seahawks matchups. Mike emails in with a logical way to look at the loss to the Broncos. Do better call outs go to armchair scientists for their suggestions that Seattle handled the trip to Denver in the wrong way and to the NFL for an egregious app update. Better at life nods go to our wildland firefighters, including the brother of a member of the flock. With the Seattle Storm earning a WNBA title, they also get a better at life honor.
