Denne gangen gjør jeg det lettbeint og litt flåsete som en del av underholdningen på filosofifestivalen i Kragerø.Jeg sitter i en bar på kveldstid for å reflektere litt uanstrengt om rettferdighet, og det er naturlig å utfordre konseptet opp mot spørsmålet om fri vilje. Hvordan kan vi egentlig bedømme noe som rett eller urettferdig hvis vi ikke engang er sikre på om vi har kontroll over våre egne handlinger? Det er som å prøve å dømme en fotballkamp hvor spillerne er marionetter, og vi er bare de forvirrede tilskuerne som prøver å finne ut hvem som trekker i trådene.I denne episoden skal vi grave dypere i disse spørsmålene med en spade av naivitet. Klokken nærmer seg 20.30 på en lørdagskveld i Kragerø. Det er sommer og varmt, og baren i Victoriahaven er fullsatt med filosofi-entusiaster. Mitt bidrag denne kvelden skal være underholdene, og dermed kan jeg ikke behandle tematikken med altfor mye seriøsitet. Karl Ove «Kalle» Moene er en norsk økonom og professor emeritus ved Økonomisk institutt ved Universitetet i Oslo. Han er vel sannsynligvis Norges mest kjente økonom og en fantastisk tenker. Han er hyggelig, klok og en viktig stemme. Jeg har stor respekt for Kalle Moene, og jeg liker at en økonom er så frittalende og tydelig som han. Økonomi er noe jeg selv har problemer med å forstå, og interessere meg for, men tematikken blir super-interessant når Kalle snakker om det. Denne kvelden skal vi imidlertid ikke snakke om økonomi, men vi er på hvert vårt lag i kampen om de beste «ideene». Det skal arrangeres filosofisport, og det kommer i kjølvannet av mitt innlegg som du akkurat hørte. Der RTX-50-Clusterfuck geht weiter!Die Nvidia RTX 5070 Ti wurde getestet und wie bisher: Eher enttäuschend, Preis wäre so halbwegs ok, wenn es sie denn überhaupt zur UVP gäbe. Es sieht inzwischen sehr danach aus, als wäre die UVP bei dieser Generation einfach eine Vorspiegelung falscher Tatsachen, um die Grafikkarten besser aussehen zu lassen. Langsam stellt sich die Frage, ob überhaupt jemand eine 5070 Ti zur UVP von 879 Euro bestellen konnte und die dann auch bekommen hat. Es mehren sich Berichte zu nachträglichen Stornierungen durch Shops. Und dann waren die Grafikkarten erneut zu höheren Preisen wieder eingestellt. Seltsam. "Glückliche" Besitzer von einer RTX 50 sollten nachsehen, ob sie alles bekommen haben, wofür sie teuer gezahlt haben. Bei vereinzelten Exemplaren von RTX 5090, 5070 Ti und inzwischen wohl auch 5080 sind nicht alle ROPs (Render Output Processors) aktiv, die aktiv sein sollten. Es fehlen dann acht Stück. Betroffen seien laut Nvidia zwar weniger als 0,5 Prozent der bisherigen Produktion. So etwas darf jedoch nicht sein. Und weiter gehts: Nvidia hat mit dieser Generation die Unterstützung von 32bit-PhysX eingestellt. Somit ist die Generation RTX 40 die letzte, mit der man Spiele wie Mirror's Edge, Borderlands 2 oder die Arkham Batman in ihrer ganzen GPU-beschleunigten Physikpracht genießen kann ohne massiven Performance-Verlust. Apple hat ein Budget-iPhone vorgestellt: Das iPhone 16e hat das Design des iPhone 14, den SoC des iPhone 16, mit dem C1 ein eigenes Apple-Modem ohne UWB und WiFi 7, nur eine Kamera und beginnt bei 699 Euro. Halloween approaches, and as is tradition, we're covering two Christmas tunes with a Halloween-y kick! The first is "Hell of a Holiday" by the Pistol Annies, which offers a mish-mash of Halloween and (select) winter holiday flavors, as well as some intriguing questions about what spells their respective cleric domains would have. Then it's "Flappie", a dark Christmas tune beloved in the Netherlands, hauntingly performed in English by Todd Rundgren. Oath of Miranda Lambert paladins would not approve. The intro music in this episode is the theme from "Goosebumps", composed by Jack Lenz. The ranking music is "It's Halloween (A Christmas Song)" by Randy Brooks.

Was für ein geiler Eventfilm war denn bitte schön “Avengers: Endgame”? Über zehn Jahre und drei Phasen lang ständig ins Kino rennen, die Lore des Marvel Cinemativ Universe einimpfen, Dutzende HeldInnen kennenlernen. Viel Arbeit, aber viel Lohn. Schön war das! 10 von 10! Der zwischenzeitlich erfolgreichste film aller Zeiten. Verdienter Lohn für ein herausragendes Kino-Experiment. Aber leider musste es danach weitergehen. Und noch größer und voller und verwirrender als je zuvor. Mittlerweile sind wir irgendwo in Phase 5 von dem ganzen Bums. Höchste Zeit, Phase 4 noch mal ordentlich Revue passieren zu lassen, nachdem wir einige Filme und Serien aus diesem paar Jahre umfassenden Clusterfuck bereits besprochen haben. Hier und da ein paar Highlights - und welche das sind, spaltet unsre Gruppe schon merklich. Was es aber noch viel mehr gibt, ist Verwirrung. Selbst wir als Marvel-Experten, haben längst den Faden verloren. Um was geht's denn eigentlich im Kern noch? Was ist für das nächste Endgame noch relevant oder arbeiten viele der Brocken aus der Bimmelbummel-Bowle auf das Finale von Phase 9 oder Phase 17 hin? Dann gibt's mehrere Ansätze von ‘nem Multiversum und alles ist plötzlich irgendwie canon, aber auch nich so doll. Und dann gibt's noch so Ringe und Elaine von Seinfeld taucht immer mal auf und rekrutiert für ihre Antihelden-Strohhut-Bande. Und wie is das mit den ganzen Göttern und Mythologien? Manche Götter sind so richtige Götter, manche sind aber Aliens, manche sind Roboter? Wir geben uns mehr Mühe, als der Baddel wert ist und versuchen, ein paar Logiklöcher mit Spekulations-Asphalt vollzustopfen. Aber ganz ehrlich: Kevin Feige und seine Disney-/Marvel-Crew haben schlichtweg den Faden verloren, als sie am Ende von Phase 3 ein Bad in ihrem Geldspeicher nahmen. Vielleicht finden sie ihn ja irgendwann wieder, wenn die Geldberge wieder kleiner werden - und das wird passieren, wenn's so weitergeht wie die letzten Jahre! So oder so: Viel Schaden wurde angerichtet. Eine Bestandsaufnahme.

Klaus Barbie, einer von Hitlers finstersten Vasallen! Um den geht's hier aber nicht, sondern um die Puppe Barbie. Wie macht man aus dem Thema einen Mainstream-Kinofilm? Das versierte Mumblecore-Autoren-Duo Greta Gerwig und Noah Baumbach (“Frances Ha”!) nahm die Herausforderung an und machte aus dem pinken Stoff mehr als nur eine weitere Toy Story. Es geht um Feminismus, das Patriarchat, um Kapitalismus, Existenzialismus, Bibel-Analogien, um Mütter, um mentale Gesundheit - um alles halt. Aber auch um das Spielzeug. Zu viel für einen Film? So viel vorweg: Ja! Aber wir diskutieren darüber, ob es nicht gerade das sein könnte, was den Film mit Margot Robbie als Barbie und Ryan Gosling als Ken zum vierzehnterfolgreichsten aller Zeiten macht (Stand Oktober 2023). Ein runder Film, der sich auf ein, zwei Kernthemen spezialisiert hätte es werden können. Ein kreativer Clusterfuck, der Dutzende Meinungen vertritt, ist es geworden. Und was ist nun mit dem Mattel-Expanded Universe? Wir erwarten mit Schrecken einen rasanten qualitativen Abfall und kreativen ausverkauf, wenn es darum geht, Marken wie Barnie der Saurier, Hot Wheels, Masters of the Universe, das Kartenspiel UNO oder Polly Pocket ins Lichtspielhaus zu bringen. Mal abwarten, was das für'n Quatsch wird …

Da sind wir also. In Musks Mahlstrom, täglich neu angerührt, überwürzt und halbroh. Als ich Mitte November einen Blogbeitrag begann, der vor allem eine emotionale Momentaufnahme sein sollte, war mir nicht klar, wie chaotisch die kommenden Tage und Wochen in der Causa Twitter noch werden sollten. Jeden Tag, teilweise mehrfach, schreibt Musk selbst ein neues Kapitel der Seifenoper rund um dieses Medium/diese Website/dieses Social Network und inszeniert sich selbst irgendwo zwischen Troll, unbeholfenem Möchtegernkomiker und eiskalt kalkulierendem Geschäftsmann. Das Ganze ist so faszinierend und verstörden, dass Dennis Horn und Gavin Karlmeier sich in einem (nahezu?) täglichen Podcast ausschließlich mit diesem Thema befassen: „Haken dran – das Twitter-Update“ wurde dank dieser simplen wie anstrengenden Mission zu einem viel zitierten und verdienten Erfolg. Grund genug, Gavin Karlmeier spontan via Twitter (obviously) zum Gespräch zu laden, das den Hauptteil der zu diesem Blogpost gehörenden Audioebene bildet. Es war mir ein Anliegen und ein Vergnügen mit Gavin über diesen Clusterfuck an Gesamtsituation zu sprechen und ich hoffe Ihr genießt das Gespräch ebenso. Hier nun aus historischen Gründen der Originalblogpost: Calm your tits, Dominik. It's just a website. Guten Morgen Kinners. Ich bin heute Nacht gegen 2 Uhr morgens aufgewacht. Keine Ahnung ob es die Verdauung, die Harnblase, Existenzangst oder die Gesamtsituation war. Es ist 2022 und ich bin Ü40, es ist ein Wunder, dass ich überhaupt schlafen kann. Vielleicht war es aber auch mein sechster Sinn für Social Media: Was sich seit dem Kauf von Twitter durch Elon Musk abgezeichnet hatte, kickt langsam in den Super Pursuit Mode: Musk nimmt Kurs auf den Eisberg um zu schauen wie unsinkbar das Schiff Twitter ist. Also: Seine eigentliche Absicht ist seit Kurzem „Twitter 2.0“ umzusetzen und da man dafür „sehr hardcore“ sein muss, hat er Mitarbeitern das tolle Ultimatum gestellt, doch härter und mehr zu arbeiten (vermutlich bei gleichem Gehalt) oder gegen Abfindung das Unternehmen zu verlassen. Keine Ahnung in welchem Alphamalebullshitberaterseminar er solche Verhandlungstaktiken gelernt hat aber seine Motivationsdiarrhö kam bei einigen Hundert der noch verbliebenen Mitarbeiter (er hatte zuvor schon circa die Hälfte gefeuert) nicht so gut an. Mittlerweile sind so viele Arbeitskräfte weg oder werden es bald sein, dass einige ehemalige Mitarbeiter überzeugt sind, dass die Technik der Platform bald anfangen wird zu bröckeln. (Ich habe hier bisher größtenteils diesen sehr guten Artikel von The Verge paraphrasiert und kommentiert: https://www.theverge.com/2022/11/17/23465274/hundreds-of-twitter-employees-resign-from-elon-musk-hardcore-deadline) Die Tatsache, dass die Nutzer von Twitter aktuell natürlich vermehrt auf Twitter den potentiellen Untergang von Twitter vertwittern wird die Twitter-Server nicht gerade weniger stressen. Es könnte also sein, dass wir einmal mehr dabei zusehen werden, wie ein soziales Netzwerk zerrissen wird. Da Twitter für mich seit geraumer Zeit eine Art zweite digitale Heimat ist, ist dies wohl Anlass genug für einen kurzen Rückblick. Das wird heute in Teilen ein wenig überemotional. Verzeiht es mir, ich bin ein alter Mann ohne Schlafrhythmus. Wer mir auf Twitter folgt, kann dort nachlesen, dass ich bereits seit September 2009 auf der Microblogging-Platform (hahaha) unterwegs bin. Nur stimmt das so nicht. Meinen ersten Account hatte ich schon im März des gleichen Jahres, der war und ist aber ausschließlich englischsprachig. 2009 war auch das Jahr in dem Kevin Körber und ich gemeinsam mit dem Podcasten anfingen. Die MedienKuH war von Anfang an ein Podcast, der neben seinen Hauptthemen (Film, Funk und Fernsehen) auch Twitter thematisierte und dessen Twitter-Account wir immer wieder nutzten um klassische Medien zu kommentieren und um mit Hörern in den Austausch zu treten. Da auch die Accounts diverser Fernsehsender mit uns interagierten wirkten wir schnell relevanter als wir vielleicht sind. Naja, nicht unsere Schuld, da seid Ihr selbst seit Jahren drauf reingefallen. Ganz persönlich hatte ich einfach Freude daran, ohne Fallhöhe sehr schlechte bis mäßig witzige Kurztexte auf Twitter zu schreiben, GIFs zu posten (GIFs sind das wichtigste Medium des 21 Jahrhunderts und egal was Stephen Wilhite gesagt hat, man spricht es mit einem harten G aus. Außerdem: Der Blog. Don't at me.) und mit Menschen zu quatschen. Den Außenstehenden Twitter zu erklären, hat bis heute nicht richtig funktioniert. „If you have to ask, you will never know“ ist hier wie so oft die Wahrheit. Was natürlich auch damit zusammenhängt, dass man von 10 unterschiedlichen Menschen 27,5 absolut andere Antworten auf die Fragen „Was ist Twitter?“, „Wie funktioniert es?“, „Was magst Du daran“ und „Wie nutzt Du es?“ bekommt. An dieser Stelle drücke ich auch meine ewige Hassliebe für Nutzer der Platform aus, die „Du hast Twitter nicht verstanden“ und „Twitter ist kein Chat“ gepostet haben. Wie Sprache, entwickeln soziale Medien nunmal Eigendynamiken und Nischen in denen Dinge jeweils etwas anders laufen als man sich das vorstellt und anders als es vielleicht mal anfing. Letzteres sieht man auch an Accounts, die auf Twitter einen großen Hype mit daraus resultierendem Business mitgemacht haben – Bücher, TV-Shows etc. und jetzt: Tweets des gleichen Stils, der gleichen Qualität und niemanden kümmert es. Mein Lieblingsfakt unter den absurden Twitter-Fakten: der Account „Shit My Dad Says“ wurde so erfolgreich, dass eine Sitcom mit William Shatner in der Hauptrolle produziert wurde. Shatner promotet jetzt übrigens irgendwelchen Crypto-NFT-Bullshit auf Twitter. Nun. Ganz persönlich und beruflich (kann man bei mir ja nie wirklich trennen) habe ich so viele gute und wichtige Dinge auf auf Twitter über- und erlebt, ich weiß gar nicht, wo ich anfangen soll. Kurz zusammengefasst: Twitter hat sowohl Jobnetzwerke als auch Dating-Plattformen (auch wenn das damals sowieso vor Tinder war. Ich richte hier auch ausdrücklich Grüße von meiner Frau aus.) für mich komplett überflüssig gemacht. Die erfolgreichsten Bewerbungsgespräche und Jobgelegenheiten sind über Twitter entstanden. Ohne Twitter kein Radio Nukular und alles was danach kam – klar, man kann natürlich immer argumentieren, dass die entsprechende Kommunikation auch über Facebook, Email, Telefon etc. hätte stattfinden können. Hat sie aber nicht. Darüber hinaus gibt es auch Momente, die so typisch für Twitter sind, dass ich sie mir auf anderen Plattformen kaum vorstellen kann: Ein direkter Austausch mit Neil Gaiman über unsere liebsten Versionen des Cohen-Songs „Tower of Song“ oder sein Porridge-Rezept. Interviews mit Tommy Krappweis oder Kevin Smith, die nur über Twitter-Interaktionen zu Stande kamen. (Im Falle von Smith wird mir auch zuweilen vorgeworfen, ich hätte ihn ja quasi erpresst. Verstehe das Argument aber teile es nicht, bester Beleg: ein zweites Interview, dem er ganz ohne Twitter-Kampagne zugesagt hatte). Aber selbst wenn ich Twitter nur passiv und privat (guter Buchtitel) genutzt hätte, hätte mir die Vogelseite einiges geboten. Der Mix aus schnellen Nachrichten, relativer Gleichberechtigung von kleinen Accounts neben größeren (die wiederum die kleinen Accounts durch einen einzigen Mausklick nach vorne bringen können), persönlichen und professionelleren Tweets… da ist wirklich eine süchtig machende Digitalmaschine entstanden – for better or worse. Twitter ist außerdem wirklich mitverantwortlich für oder zumindest direkt verknüpft mit so vielen Erfahrungen, die ich in den letzten 13 (!) Jahren machen durfte, dass ich gar nicht anders kann, als ein wenig nostalgisch und traurig zu werden. Auch hier gilt natürlich „your experience may vary“ und auch „wie man in den Wald ruft…“. Viele die das hier lesen, werden gar nichts oder nur wenig positives mit Twitter verbinden und ja: Die Dynamiken der Plattform haben auch viel Bullshit, toxisches Verhalten und buchstäblichen Faschismus befördert. Zeitgleich hat Twitter auch Minoritäten einen Platz gegeben, in dem man sich miteinander austauschen und gleichzeitig Menschen erreichen konnte, die man über die eigene Lebensrealität aufklären konnte. Nicht Betroffene konnten beispielsweise am Alltag von Menschen mit Behinderung teilhaben. Oder mit Menschen mitfühlen, die unter diktatorischen Regimen leiden. Diese direkte Teilhabe hat viele von uns ein Stück empathischer gemacht. Wenn aber diese menschlichen Bereiche von Twitter auf lupenreine Nazis oder Trolle treffen, wird es unschön. Ohne Blocken, Muten und ausgewähltes Folgen geht da nichts. Ein bisschen wie im wahren Leben. Auch meine Block- und Mute-Listen sind sehr, sehr lang. Auch weil ein negativer Aspekt von Twitter eindeutig der ist, dass Trolltum von einigen als Sport betrieben wird und das Resultat auf der anderen Seite des Bildschirms dann ein gesteigerter Blutdruck ist. Das muss man nicht haben. Ich kann mich allerdings glücklich schätzen, dass 99% meiner Follower mich auch wie einen Menschen behandeln. Ich bin mit kleineren und größeren Fehlern schon das eine oder andere Mal an einem Shitstorm vorbei geschlittert, der nicht passiert ist, weil meine Follower vorsichtig nachgefragt oder auf etwas hingewiesen haben, was ich übersehen hatte. Daher allen 10.000 Bots und 3.220 Menschen (Anmerkung aus dem Korrekturlesen: Hier sieht man den kleinen Exodus-Effekt von Musk, aktuell sind es fast 200 Follower weniger), die mir bis dato auf Twitter folgen ein dickes Danke: War ne wilde Zeit bisher und das insbesondere dank Euch. Ich sage bewusst bisher, denn obwohl ich gerade Twitter dank Musk beim Implodieren zuschaue, zeigt die extrem produktive Stimmung gerade einen Aspekt von Twitter, der die Plattform so einzigartig macht: Man hat das Gefühl, sich auf einer Party zu befinden, die bald von der Polizei aufgelöst werden wird, weil der Hausbesitzer gewechselt hat während die Party läuft. Der neue Besitzer hielt es für eine gute Idee, Teile des Hauses anzuzünden und eine Lockerungssprengung im Keller vorzunehmen. Statt an der Tür für den VIP-Raum wie gewohnt eine Ausweiskontrolle vorzunehmen, wollte er Tickets verkaufen und die Musik ist auch schlechter geworden. Aber in der Küche haben sich die Menschen zusammengefunden, die seit über 10 Jahren die Seele der Party sind. Hier werden zwischen Snacks und Getränken die besten Geschichten und die schönsten Witze erzählt. Gemeinsam wartet man mit Galgenhumor auf das Morgengrauen und die Antwort auf die Frage: Steht das Haus morgen noch? Wird es explodieren? Erneut verkauft? Oder Stein für Stein abgetragen, bis nur noch ein Limonadenstand übrig ist? So oder so: Jeder legt schon mal ein Handtuch auf die Liege drüben bei Mastodon, für den Fall.
