A lot of what has been dug up from the 90s, mostly by Gen Z, has kind of been a rude look into the mirror for Millennials, but acclaimed, veteran screenwriter Victoria Male has cooked up a comedy feature, Whatever Happened to Baby J?, that is taking a much more favorable look into the 90s, so much so that the one and only Jodie Sweetin (as well as Drew Seeley and stacked cast) is going to be part of a staged reading of Whatever Happened to Baby J? at Dynasty Typewriter on June 9th (tix available here). This week's TCB Field Report follows Victoria's journey all the way to doing this big time staged reading that will be support of the AIDS Resource Foundation for Children. Follow Victoria @victoriamale1 and get tix to Whatever Happened to Baby J @ Dynasty Typewriter on June 9th here. This week, Jamie goes in depth with Zoë twenty years later about becoming a meme just as she started to form memories, how she's chosen to interact (or not interact) with it over the years, and why she chose to forge her own path. Happy Halloqueen! This year Bryan dressed as the skeleton of Vincent Price and Erin is a woman who can never get warm. Erin describes her gym's trainer "bate board" of guilty pleasures, and Bryan recounts a neighbor's on-the-nose costume party. Erin tells us about Olivia Dreizen Howell's viral tweet answering the question "Can my husband find out who I am voting for in the Presidential Election?", and voting gaps between married, divorced and single voters. Bryan rips apart Log Cabin Republican Charles Moran's false claim that the 2025 GOP Platform gets rid of all anti-LGBTQ+ language when it promises to ban content from schools, rolls back legal protections for transgender people, and adds protections for Christians to discriminate against queer people. Make sure to vote! Visit www.vote.gov to check your registration status and find your polling place. Bryan's show on 11/13 at Dynasty Typewriter in LA is selling out! Get your tickets here. Bryan's back from New York where he witnessed Nicole Scherzinger's star turn in Sunset Blvd. on Broadway. Aisha and Louie track their strikingly similar origins, their first brushes with success in Europe and their explosions stateside, which helped solidify the teen pop boom of the turn of the century. They then dig into their self-titled debuts, from Backstreet's blockbuster 1996 effort to *NSYNC's launch the next year, their short-lived runs as commercial supernovas with Millennium (1999) and No Strings Attached (2000), their diverging sounds and ambitions, final hits, intertwined legacies and finally, Aisha and Louie rank Backstreet Boys and *NSYNC in the Official Pop Pantheon.
