Send us a textIn this jam-packed episode of "2 Giants Goofballs: New York Giants News & Updates," Drew and Rob dive into the latest developments surrounding the Giants following a disappointing 34-7 loss to the Atlanta Falcons in Week 16. Injuries continue to plague the team as QB Drew Lock undergoes an MRI on his throwing shoulder, while LB Micah McFadden deals with a stinger. Aggravated injuries for RB Tyrone Tracy and C John Michael Schmitz add to the Giants' woes. Coach Brian Daboll updates fans on their status, leaving uncertainty about their availability for the final weeks of the season. Amid the challenges, Andrew Thomas provides a glimmer of hope for the future. Speaking to the New York Post, Thomas emphasized optimism, highlighting the potential of the team's young core and the need for continuity along the offensive line. While sidelined by injury himself, Thomas's comments serve as a reminder of the Giants' potential if they can maintain health and cohesion moving forward. One unexpected highlight comes from former Giants QB Daniel Jones. Despite being released by the team and now on the Vikings' practice squad, Jones showcased his character by sending a classy gift to his former offensive linemen. Each received a limited edition bottle of Clase Azul tequila, a gesture reflecting his appreciation for their efforts during his time with the team. Jones may be remembered for struggles on the field, but this move cements his reputation as a class act off it. The episode also unpacks a curious moment from the Falcons game, where Assistant GM Brandon Brown was spotted on the sideline, engaging with QBs Tommy DeVito and Tim Boyle. Daboll explained the situation, claiming it was due to logistical reasons during road games, but the unusual sight raised eyebrows and fueled speculation. Drew and Rob question why the Giants haven't experimented with moving Evan Neal to guard, a position that might better suit his skill set given the challenges he's faced at tackle. With little to lose at this point in the season, this remains a puzzling decision. The episode wraps with a recap of Week 16 NFL action, including thrilling games like the Eagles' narrow loss to the Commanders and the Lions' dominant win over the Bears. The upcoming Christmas slate is previewed, with matchups like Chiefs vs. Steelers and Ravens vs. Texans offering fans a holiday treat. This episode delivers a comprehensive look at Giants news NFL, Giants news and rumors, and Giants football news, while offering insights into the team's struggles and glimmers of hope for the future. Send us a textIn this extended episode of "2 Giants Goofballs: New York Giants News & Updates," Drew and Rob take a deep dive into the rollercoaster season for the Giants, as frustrations among fans and players alike reach a boiling point. Wide receiver Darius Slayton's recent comments set the stage for a detailed discussion about the state of the team. Slayton reflected on the losing streak, comparing this season to past tough years like 2019 and 2021. The show explores the growing unrest among fans, highlighted by two weeks of controversial plane flyovers at MetLife Stadium. These planes carried messages reflecting fan dissatisfaction with the team's performance and leadership. Drew and Rob discuss insights from a fan who organized one of the flyovers, originally planning a "Fire Schoen and Daboll" message before it was rejected by the advertising company. Instead, the fan pivoted to align with another group's effort, aiming to send a unified message of frustration. The fan admitted their intention was to embarrass Quarterback uncertainty dominates another portion of the episode as the Giants face the possibility of starting Tim Boyle in their next game. With Drew Lock in a walking boot and Tommy DeVito in concussion protocol, options are limited. Drew and Rob discuss the potential scenarios, including signing a quarterback off another team's practice squad or bringing in a free agent. Looking ahead to the offseason, Drew and Rob dive into a hypothetical mock draft scenario that sees the Giants trading the first overall pick to the Raiders in exchange for a haul of draft capital. The trade would give the Giants the second overall pick, along with additional second- and third-round selections this year and next. With the second pick, the Raiders select Shedeur Sanders, while the Giants pivot to take Cam Ward as their quarterback of the future. The draft segment also touches on the offensive line, as Drew and Rob emphasize the importance of building a foundation to protect the team's next franchise quarterback. With picks like Wyatt Milum from West Virginia and Tate Ratledge from Georgia, the Giants would add immediate impact players who could stabilize the trenches. Other notable prospects include Domani Jackson, a versatile cornerback from Alabama, and Kaleb Johnson, a productive running back from Iowa. The mock draft showcases the hosts' vision for how the Giants can rebuild and return to contention. The episode closes with Drew and Rob's Week 15 game predictions, which feature some shocking outcomes. The Cowboys cruise past the Panthers, the Bengals outlast the Titans in a shootout, and the Bills win a thrilling high-scoring affair against the Lions. This comprehensive episode provides fans with everything they need to stay informed and engaged with the Giants. From Slayton's candid comments to the ongoing quarterback carousel, from fan protests to bold offseason plans, Drew and Rob cover it all with their trademark humor and passion. The Giants lost their ninth straight game and their fourth string quarterback, Tim Boyle, played after Tommy DeVito suffered a concussion. Boomer doesn't think it's 100% for Joe Schoen and Brian Daboll to come back. The Jets beat the Jags but the Jets defense gave up a lot of yardage to Mac Jones. Gio hates the narrative that this is what Aaron Rodgers looks like when he's healthy. With Bill Belichick at UNC, who would run the Giants if not Schoen and Daboll? Jerry is here for his first update of the day and starts with the sounds of Davante Adams having a great second half as the Jets beat the Jags. Lamar Jackson threw 5 TDs to beat the Giants. The Bills beat the Lions and Josh Allen made it look easy. The Eagles beat the Steelers and Boomer said they are the most balanced team. Boomer said the NY Rangers are playing with, ‘no passion, no grit'. He feels like a Giants fan. In the final segment of the hour, we talked about the Bills dominance this season. A caller wants Boomer to stop saying Aaron Rodgers will be back next year with the Jets. Gio said Aaron Glenn should not come to the Jets because it will ruin his career.

Hour 2 The biggest winners this weekend were the Bucs and the Rams. Jonathan Taylor of the Colts celebrated early on a TD and dropped the ball on purpose before he crossed the goal line. Boomer said the Jets are where the Broncos were 2 years ago before they got Sean Payton and ate the Russell Wilson contract and moved on. Two different callers want Aaron Rodgers back and Gio wants no part of that. Jerry returns for an update and starts with the sounds of the Jets beating the Jags. The Ravens did to the Giants what we thought they would. Brian Daboll was not aware of the plane that flew overhead that said ‘fire everyone'. Dan Campbell tried an onside kick at an odd time and it backfired on him in the loss to the Bills. The Eagles beat the Steelers. Dolphins fans are not happy with Mike McDaniel, including Dave Portnoy at Barstool. In the final segment of the hour, Travis Hunter won the Heisman. Who is available that John Mara would choose over Schoen and Daboll for next season? Gio could see Cam Ward and his offensive coordinator coming here with Steve Spagnuolo as head coach. Hour 4 A caller wonders if Gio watched the Dua Lipa concert on CBS last night. He did. The Seahawks wore their highlighter uniforms which are intense. Gio is looking forward to Hard Knocks in season with the AFC North. Probably going to be a lot of Ravens with their beat down of the Giants. Boomer doesn't think the Lions will be the number one seed in the NFC. It will be the Eagles or Vikings. After a much needed bye week break, the Ravens got back in action on Sunday, heading up to The Meadowlands to take on the New York Giants. In a classic tale of a strong team taking on a weak one late in the year, Baltimore took care of business big time, with five touchdown passes coming from Lamar Jackson, and the defense handling it's business against Tommy DeVito and Tim Boyle, who spelled the former at quarterback. What does a win like this mean for a Ravens team heading into the most critical three game stretch they've faced all season? Jake and Banks discuss that and more on tonight's show. Send us a textIn this full episode of "2 Giants Goofballs: New York Giants News & Updates," host Rob dives deep into the latest developments surrounding Big Blue as they prepare for a tough matchup against the Baltimore Ravens. The Giants' quarterback situation takes center stage, with Head Coach Brian Daboll announcing that Tommy DeVito will get the start this week. DeVito, who has completed 21 of 31 passes for 189 yards over two appearances this season, will step in as Drew Lock remains sidelined with a walking boot. If Lock is unable to suit up as backup, Tim Boyle, recently re-signed to the practice squad, will likely fill the role. The episode also highlights the Giants' efforts to bolster their depleted secondary. With Tre Hawkins III out due to injury, Greg Stroman has been called up to the active roster. Stroman, who previously stepped in for Deonte Banks earlier this season, could see significant snaps with the team facing a barrage of injuries in the defensive backfield. In addition, the Giants have been busy making signings. Cornerback Divaad Wilson, nicknamed “Newt,” joins the team, bringing his experience from UCF and a brief stint with the Cardinals. Wilson has shown promise but is yet to carve out a substantial role in the NFL. Similarly, the Giants added Ekow Boye-Doe and Azizi Hearn to their practice squad, both young defensive backs aiming to make an impact despite limited opportunities in their careers thus far. The defensive line also sees reinforcement with the signing of Ross Blacklock to the practice squad. Blacklock, a former second-round pick, has struggled to find consistent success in the league but brings raw talent and a strong first step that could prove valuable in certain situations. Rob also discusses the Giants' workout with Stephen Gilmore Jr., the younger brother of five-time Pro Bowler Stephon Gilmore. While the Giants haven't signed him, the workout signals their continued focus on addressing depth concerns in the secondary. This episode provides a comprehensive look at the Giants' roster moves and how these changes could impact their performance against a formidable Ravens squad. Rob breaks down each signing, evaluates the new players' potential contributions, and analyzes the challenges the team faces heading into Week 14.
