Join us this week a Tom Welling and Michael Rosenbaum react to surprise after surprise after surprise in our rewatch of Smallville Season 4 Episode 12: PARIAH!. What could've gone on for the entirety of the episode, but was cut short, was Michael‘s fascination with the unconventionally absurd cold open and why it was wrong for so many different reasons. The guys go on to talk about Tom‘s cathartic performance after losing a loved one, how the sandman villain could have been renamed and improved, and the huge shock of Chloe Sullivan learning Clark's secret. Episode Type: BONUS Episode Title: Smallville S4E1 'Crusade' Inspired by Talkville Podcast Recording Date: January 19th, 2024 Recording Start Time: 5pm Location: Mostly Superheroes Studio Hosts: Logan The Meat: Smallvile Season 4 Episode 1 ‘Crusade' Rewatch and Explanation Reviewed by Logan Janis, Mostly Superheroes on January 19th 2024 Three months later. Lois Lane, the second cousin of Chloe Sullivan, arrives in Smallville trying to find the missing Clark Kent to help her to find Chloe's murderer. After being struck by a mysterious ray, she loses control of her car, and finds Clark naked with amnesia in a cornfield. She brings him to Smallville Medical Center, where Martha is with Jonathan Kent, who has been in an irreversible coma. Martha brings Clark back to the farm, expecting him to retrieve his memory. However, Clark is completely dehumanized, having been taken over by his alter-ego Kal-El, whose mission is to find three Kryptonian crystals to assemble into one. Meanwhile in Paris, Lana Lang has an American boyfriend, a young man named Jason Teague, and is having a good time with him, until things take a turn when she gets hit with a mysterious spiritual force containing the spirit of a long-dead witch. Elsewhere, Lex is struggling to recover from being poisoned as he travels to bring an ancient object retrieved from an excavation in Egypt which Clark/Kal-El is also after and uses his flying abilities to steal the crystal... in midair. Also, Lois visits the imprisoned Lionel to talk with him about Chloe, while Martha has a meeting with an associate of Virgil Swan's, named Bridget Crosby, who gives her a new type of kryptonite to combat Clark/Kal-El.—Claudio Carvalho, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil Coming Up: https://mostlysuperheroes.com/schedule ‘Madame Web' 'Blade Trinity' 4 Hands Voltron Volume 4 Apotheosis Comics Edera The Royale Food and Spirits Sources: Songs/Artist Features - Hear the Songs on Spotify: “Save Me” Remy Zero (not Sam Raimi) "Better Days Will Come" - Tahiti 80 "O Euchari" - Hildegard Of Bingen "Plus Pres De Moi" - Sandrine 67 - Crusade - Talk Ville: The Ultimate Smallville rewatch. Allison Mack is an American actor known for her roles as Chloe Sullivan on the WB/CW series Smallville and as Amanda on the FX series Wilfred. 10 Years Younger is a TV show where women try to reverse the ageing process by receiving complete transformations, from fashion to hair and makeup and at times including cosmetic surgery. Lily and Esther, flawed women and good friends, bring to light the ‘other' side of the so called “weaker sex” and put some truly horrible women up with the big bad boys. We're talking with Ratchet this week about problematic elements the real world bleeding into fandom and transformative works. Occasionally, our regular Perspectives contributor Elsa Glover decides to share the voices and opinions of other teachers or students with WNIJ's listeners. Today, Elsa brings us the wisdom of Kaneland 6th graders Chloe Sullivan and Katilyn Schuhler. During this pandemic, it’s hard to find positivity. More often we see people reach out to help. The thing is, we have to keep sending positivity to others. If we don’t, returning to normalcy will be harder. This is because positivity is what keeps people going. Positivity for others starts by caring for yourself. Some favorite self-care routines include meditating, quotes, and music. Thinking about quotes gives wisdom and motivation. Quotes mean something unique to each person. They give a different positive influence to everyone. One favorite quote is “No amount of guilt can change the past, and no amount of anxiety can change the future” --Umar Ibn al-Khattab. This quote helps you stay in the moment. Tread Perilously continues its primetime soaps months with the late 90s sci-fi teen drama Roswell. Specifically, a third season episode called "Control." As Max continues his attempt to save his son, his journey leads him to a big shot Hollywood producer who happens to be one of the shapeshifting bodyguards sent to protect him fifty years prior. When Max discovers the producer must obey his direct orders, they plan to steal their UFO back from a nearby Air Force base. Meanwhile, Isabel is stunned to discover no one is excited about her upcoming wedding to Jesse. Also, Liz and Maria are in this episode. Erik and Justin quickly get derailed to discuss Star Trek, which was also a UPN series for a time. They also express their puzzlement over Ronald D. Moore's producer role on Outlander. Colin Hanks gets compared to Chloe Sullivan, but NOT Allison Mack. Erik suspects Roswell may have been the source of some of Twilight's characters and structure. Both are surprised by Jason Behr's performance. They also cannot figure out why everyone is mad at Max and Isabel's adoptive mother. A close-up look at one scene leads Justin to soften his opinion on Katherine Heigl and Erik recalls the interim technology of the early 21st Century.
This week Zach is joined by Jazz Keegan to discuss the fifty fifth episode of Smallville, "Delete." Before getting into the episode proper we have our customary Houston Rockets talk, reflect on their 2017-2018 season and falling just short of the NBA Finals. Then it's onto discussing the infamous Chlois Theory (in which Chloe Sullivan would become Lois Lane), Adam Knight's continuously Batman-esque character traits, and the most epic fight in the entire series. Hey ATA Listeners, it's Dan here, after surviving the world's greatest bachelor party, that caused me to wake up the next morning to find a Lemur on top of me, a Bride in my closet and the Luthor Corp. sign in my living room. I pulled off getting over my magically induced champagne bender to finish editing this podcast. And on this week's episode as expected we are reviewing episodes of Chuck, Castle, Fringe, Smallville, and Supernatural but not Bones because it is on a three-week hiatus due to American Idol. Highlights include, Nico and I discussing an episode of Supernatural that hit really close to home as well as us giving our reaction on a fun but off-the-wall episode of Smallville that was supposedly the sendoff for one of our favorite characters here at ATA, the legendary Chloe Sullivan. Also, yours truly once again spreads the love for John Noble because his performance in this week's Fringe flashback episode as Dr. Bishop was absolutely superb and I get on my soapbox to ask all of you TV fans out there to perform a job for Superman, which is saving four of the six shows that we cover from extinction at the hands of their respective networks.
On this week’s episode, we are one TV Show shy of being back to reviewing a full schedule due to Castle being off this week, but the good news is after an extremely long wait Smallville and Supernatural have returned with new episodes. Plus as expected we also have new episodes of Chuck, Bones, and Fringe to review as well. Highlights from this podcast include some casting news on The Avengers movie, an in-depth look on an episode of Chuck that could best be described as simply satisfying and myself along with Nico being extremely excited that Supernatural is back on track or in the words of Aerosmith's Steven Tyler, back in the saddle again. Also, we would like to thank certain people for joining us last Friday, February 4th for ChloeFest 2011! Special thanks goes to Legendary Women Inc, AlisaLea, and Allison Mack for potentially listening and for her portrayal of Chloe Sullivan aka Watchtower over the years.
When it comes to the character of Chloe Sullivan, we Smallville fans, we have our opinions, some of us believe her destiny is to be a reporter for the Daily Planet, while others see her as the superhero Watchtower and then there's the people who actually believe Chloe will become Lois Lane or the comic book fans like me who beat our heads against the wall, wanting to ensure that Chloe will forever be a part of the Superman mythos. However, despite our differences we have one thing in common when it comes to Clark Kent's best friend and one of his greatest allies, a love for the character of Chloe Sullivan. A love that inspired us to have ChloeFest 2011, a live show event that is Across the Airwaves version of This is Your Life Chloe Sullivan, through us using E-mails, Voice Mails and Tweets from fans all over the world to reminisce on our favorite memories of this legendary character and pay tribute to the wonderful actress who has played Chloe over the past 10 years of Smallville, Allison Mack. On top of that to really make this event something that Allison Mack and Smallville fans can cherish we brought in a few special guests to help us take a trip down memory lane as well as review Chloe Sullivan's triumphant return in Smallville's Final Mid Season Premiere "Collateral". These guests include Margaret J. Bates, from Legendary Woman Inc. a charity organization inspired by Chloe Sullivan, recurring star on HBO's Eastbound and Down, Elizabeth De Razzo who's acting career has partially been inspired by Allison Mack and it wouldn't be a live show without the return of ATA's very own recurring host, Brain Trust member, Michael J. Petty. By the way, thank you to all the Chloe fans out there who sent us their favorite Chloe memories as Voice Mails, E-mails and Tweets, if it wasn't for you this Live Show would've not been possible and in return for your support all of the Chloe memories that you sent in were a part of this podcast episode. So now that we've got all the business out of the way it's time for me to present, without further ado ChloeFest 2011...
Hey Everyone, if there was podcast equivalent to an Academy Award, it would go to Nico because his insight on this week's shocking and incredibly well done episodes of Chuck, Castle, Bones, and Fringe really made this podcast (that went a little on the long side) something special for all of you listeners out there. Highlights from this episode reviewing an excellent week of January television include Nico comparing Castle and Beckett's relationship to Firefly's Inara and Mal, myself comparing Bones' Hanna to Scrappy Doo and some news on the casting of Superman in Zack Snyder's upcoming film. By the way, I know this announcement is only relevant for about the next 24 hours but please remember to join us tomorrow night February 4th for Chloefest, a live show event dedicated celebrating the life of Chloe Sullivan airing at 9:15/8:15c on this website: http://www.ustream.tv/channel/across-the-airwaves-live immediately following Chloe's triumphant return to Smallville in the episode Collateral.
Great Scott, ATA Listeners! It's time for another podcast and on this episode there's no roads where were going because this edition of Across the Airwaves has a Back to the Future theme due to us reviewing Christopher Lloyd's guest appearance on the mid season premiere of Fringe as well as the Mid Season Premieres of Bones and Chuck. Highlights from the episode include Nico fearing that Hannah has caused Bones to jump the shark, a discussion of some huge casting news on Christopher Nolan's Batman sequel, The Dark Night Rises and Doc Brown himself joining us for our discussion on this week's episode of Fringe. Also I would like to acknowledge Michael J. Petty's editing debut on this episode and thank him for the great work that he performed on the Chuck section of this episode featuring Jeffster's greatest hits. By the way, thanks to all of you who sent us your favorite Chloe memories but please keep them coming and remember to join us on February 4th around 9:15/8:15c at this web site: http://www.ustream.tv/channel/across-the-airwaves-live for ChloeFest, a live show that is now going to review the episode Collateral, along with celebrating the life of Chloe Sullivan.
Hey ATA Listeners, on this episode of Across the Airwaves, I was replaced by an impostor, DUM, DUM, DUMMM!!! No, actually the voice you will be hearing throughout this podcast is mine but something goofy happened with the Internet connection so my voice was much deeper than usual, almost as if it was going through a voice changer. Although despite me sounding like Zordon (yes, here's a guy that made a Power Rangers reference) this episode is still really worth the listen, because our discussion on the most recent episode of Castle and the action packed FOX TV series Human Target is really insightful through us looking at these shows from a lot of different aspects within the TV Industry. Highlights from this guerrilla style episode that would make a conspiracy dude like Guerrero proud include Nico making predictions on the love story for both Human Target's Chance and our man Richard Castle. Also I make a request for you to send us your favorite Chloe Sullivan memories to help us enhance our upcoming Live Show, ChloeFest as well as reveal two new ATA segments that will be occurring on Twitter as well as our Facebook wall entitled Things Learned from Watching How I Met Your Mother and Psych Thoughts. By the way don't forget to support Legendary Women's Inc.'s charity for the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation in both Chloe Sullivan and Allison Mack's names which will be running through January 22nd. At the same time, don't forget to join us on February 4th at 9:15/8:15c for ChloeFest, a Live Show event, celebrating the life of Chloe Sullivan that will be occurring on this web site: http://www.ustream.tv/channel/across-the-airwaves-live following the airing of the Smallville episode Beacon.
Hey ATA Listeners, on this week's episode we are only going to have a review on the mid season premiere of Castle and take a quick look at the results of the People’s Choice Awards because we want to gradually ease back into a full schedule of reviewing our favorite shows which includes not only Castle but Chuck, Bones, Fringe, Smallville and Supernatural. Also we need the spare time to prepare for our next Smallville Live Show on February 4th entitled ChloeFest 2011, an episode of ATA that will not only review the episode Beacon but be a chance through the magic of a Live Show chat for all of you fans out there to have a conversation on how much we love the character of Chloe Sullivan and discuss her triumphant return in the Smallville Mid-Season Premiere Collateral! Highlights from this episode include a commercial made by Legendary Women Inc. advertising their charity event for the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation along with ChloeFest. Also we announce the winner of the TV Guide Magazine Cover Contest, Nico uses this week's discussion on Castle to compare his Top 5 List of the celebrities you would sleep with if you had the chance to yours by asking you to send your list to acrosstheairwaves@gmail.com and we have an amusing debate on if the People's Choice Awards are relevant. By the way as a reminder don't forget to join us on Friday February 4th at 9:15/8:15c for ChloeFest, a live show that will be following the Smallville episode Beacon and airing at this web address: http://www.ustream.tv/channel/across-the-airwaves-live.
