I just know that I could get everything I wanted if only I could align my energy - if I could have that high vibration, those good feelings... Are you wondering when and how your business is going to grow to the level that you visualize? How you're actually going to get that success that you dream about? You are not alone. Often when we take our first steps along the road to building an online business, we don't recognize how much has to be achieved and it's easy to become despondent. You've got the vision, you've done the business plan, you've dreamt. This is a brilliant start, but it's not enough. This week, I discuss the ‘act as if' technique - how aligning your energy, achieving that high vibration and acting as if you're already at your goal can bring your dreams to fruition. It's about leaning back on your vision, tapping into how you'd feel if you achieved your goals, how you'd behave and the actions you'd take. That feeling of it being done, that you can completely trust that it's already happened. It's powerful stuff. I hope it unlocks some resistance for you and helps you progress in your journey to success. Enjoy the listen. Listen and Subscribe to the Action Taker Tribe podcast on Apple Podcasts. So, the question is, do you live in a friendly or hostile universe? Do you think life is happening for you or against you? I know you heard this, but I want to give you my take on this. Don't you dare not listen to this podcast (lol), hear me out. Because what happens in your personal life at home is exactly what happens in your business.    "If you don't have a foundation, then you can't go up. You can't scale up in anything to keep running around in the same pesky stuff your whole life. And the clock's ticking, the clock is ticking." - Keith Kalfas.   Topics Covered: 1:32 - I believe that what happens at home if you're resisting commitment then, it's going to happen in all things. 6:06 - The more your life becomes stable financially, you have to find a way to break free and let go of some of those old identities. Forgive yourself, forgive the people you love, forgive, just forgive and upgrade your identity and move into a more abundant frame of mind. 12:59 - I know that my wife wouldn't be doing what she does for no reason. The hardest thing is to sift through all the emotional storms that a woman can throw at you and sift through and find the truth of why she's saying what she is saying. She has a real reason for feeling what she feels. 17:19 - Marriage is like a business. As soon as you're tied up, you're in this thing for life. 20:30 - Final advice, I am not a relationship guru or relationship counselor. I am not an expert when it comes to relationships. But, one piece of advice to throw at you to help not ruin your relationship is, DON'T LOOK AT OTHER WOMEN. Because that is a wolf trying to put poison into your household.    Key Takeaways: "So in the midst of the storm when your woman is upset with you, just like in your business, because if you can't come home to a stable home, how are you going to have a stable business? Your relationship to the feminine is your relationship to your business. You come home, and sometimes, just because she's upset doesn't mean you have to smear all over yourself, or you can hold the garbage can."   "I think all relationships, not just marriage, you keep finding the truth and sorting, and these people are your everybody in your life. They're your soul mates. And they've come to teach you a lesson. They're spiritually evolving around you. And just like my wife, every single time, we didn't give up."   Connect with Keith Facebook Instagram  YouTube LinkedIn Website   Other Helpful links! Most of the time, you hear the name Eric Reno on my podcast. In almost every episode, I mention his name, and I feel like you're asking, "Hey, who is Eric Reno??" Well, I mean he is quite popular too, you know. He's got a YouTube channel and popular on Instagram too. But, for those who are not familiar with him yet. Here's the chance to know him better and know why I mention him most of the time: a great entrepreneur, friend, mentor, father to his kids, and husband to his wife.     "As you grow older, I think it becomes more important. You see the kids grow, and it doesn't take long till they're adults. So I want to capture that moment, every moment I can with them." - Eric Reno     Topic Covered: 00:27 - Introduction to Eric Reno, the founder of Paramount Building Inc. and the Roof Illusion. 1:12 - Eric is just like everybody else. He started small and climbed his way up. But, even though he is successful now, he is still very down-to-earth and a nice guy. 3:40 - Marketing is the best way to promote your business, and this guy did his own way of marketing his business. He tells how... 7:21 - For Eric, family is so important. He noticed that when he sees his children slowly growing up, he realizes that they're growing, but he is not around. He makes sure that he gives attention to his family aside from managing his businesses. Listen to how he does it. 8:55 - Here's an interesting one. He started a roofing business first. But now, he keeps putting his money into real estate. That's what he will share... 11:16 - Yes, his family comes first. You gotta be asking, how does he manage multiple businesses then spends time with his family? He says delegation is vital in his company. 14:40 - As your business grows. It would be best if you planned for the future. You might think that hiring a lawyer, financial planner, and accountants is a waste of money. You thought you don't need them, but listen to Eric why he thinks these people are important. 22:02 - I went live broadcast on Instagram the day I interviewed Eric, and I let people ask him a couple of questions about running his business, tips, and ideas, or what have you. Listen to this part. Maybe an unanswered question to yourself could be one of those.   Key Takeaways: "Do you have life insurance? Does your life insurance doesn't cover enough to where if something happens to you, like your family's not going to have to sell their house and move into an apartment? When they first brought this stuff to me one by one, man, yeah, they're right. What kind of legacy would I leave? If I did all this great stuff, I died. And then, it's like they're poor as hell, or they get my life insurance check, but it's not enough to survive. And then, they have to sell the house then. They have to figure it all out. Like, I better plan this out for them." - Eric Reno   "So you're gonna want to delegate the rest of those jobs out. So there's something that's fallen through the cracks, or there's too many repairs or loose ends. And you need to find somebody to take care of that. Or, if you're out on the weekend picking up your guy's slack, someone got to be accountable for that." - Eric Reno.   Connect With Eric Facebook Website LinkedIn Instagram YouTube Connect with Keith Facebook Instagram  YouTube LinkedIn Website   Other Helpful links! Today, I have Blake Albertson of B&B Lawncare to discuss success, happiness, and fulfilling dreams. This guy is so freaking awesome he succeeds at an early age. Listen to him as he shares clever insights about business and life. By the way, we talk about aliens too. Sssshhhh..     Topics Covered 1:04 - Introduction to Blake Albertson 1:19 - We talk about Soccer... Who doesn't like soccer? 7:38 - I am not a priest, nor a saint but, I'd like to let you know that putting God First in my life is the best thing I've done in my existence. 9:21 - Whatever you want to do in life, live your dreams. Please do it. No one can stop you if you want to fulfill your dreams. If you want to be a painter, go and paint. If you want to be a rockstar, go and make a video and upload it on YouTube. Your life your rules. 18:21 - The definition of success is you're able to be free and do what you want to do when you want to do it. 32:21 - One thing we learned is "Nobody Cares" whether you're successful or not. Everybody is always thinking "How" they could solve their problems, and they don't care who you are. But as long as you take good care of them, that's how you bring them into your brand. 38:55 - Yeah, we talk about Aliens and shit. Haha!     Key Takeaways "Use it to your advantage of you're solving people's problems. That's it. If you never get a customer to call you, you can never get them to invest emotionally into your business. It's hard to build a brand when nobody's even knows anything about you. They don't know about your quality of work. Like the perfect customer only comes when you solve their problem initially take really really good care of them. They fall in love with you and everything you believe in and your company and your company culture. And then, that's how you bring them into your brand." - Blake Albertson.   "How are you such a positive and resourceful and responsible person that negative energy doesn't pull you down? You are so positive that negative energy dissipates in front of you, and you pull it up. You're pulling people up. You're encouraging other people, you become such a positive, radiant, vibrant alpha, that you change the energy in the room, it doesn't change you." - Keith Kalfas.     Connect with Blake Linkedin Website YouTube Facebook Instagram Connect with Keith Facebook Instagram  YouTube LinkedIn Website   Other Helpful links! Useful tips from Chapter 6 of my New Landscaping Book

The Untrapped Podcast With Keith Kalfas

I hear you. Building a business is tough, and my clients work hard to achieve results. I decided to record a short preview of Chapter Six of my new landscaping book. I will discuss the possible mistakes in setting up a business that I learned the hard way. It was hard for me because no one guided me when I started. There are few people I ran to and asked for advice when I noticed that I've been doing it wrong. That is why here are some tips from the mistakes that I had gone through and corrected, which you might also encounter along the way.     "Here's how to avoid when taking on landscaping jobs. It's easier than you'd think, have rails set up on your business. I learned this the hard way. Rails or clear limits are essential to understanding how to run a business. It comes down to realizing what your business is and what your business is not." - Keith Kalfas.     Topics Covered: 2:15 - One of the best practices that you can develop as a business owner is understanding the needs of your potential customers and whether you can actually meet them before investing resources in them. Not evaluating your potential customers is a mistake. Screening is vital in a business, and it is not just accepting customers because of money. Talk to them and see if you guys are a fit. 11:15 - Avoid giving numbers right away. And instead, take a step back and tell your customers that you'll send them a quote. 15:26 - Always, always, always prepare a contract. A signature is important to acknowledge the agreement between you and your client. 21:33 -  Don't forget to put those tarps and canvass before trimming. 24:33 - Policy is important to run a business. Don't mess this up!     Key Takeaways: "Ask yourself when you start. Who is your customer? Who is not your customer? What areas and zip codes do you want to target? What areas and zip codes you are not interested in? What types of jobs are you looking to take on? And what types of jobs are you not interested in? Now, that's really easy to say for me right now that I have an established business. But truthfully, when I first got started, I was doing anything, I would paint your shed, I would pull your weeds, I would shovel rocks, I would bust up concrete, I would do anything for $1. So I think that if you're straight up desperate and have a customer willing to do anything. I'm willing to pay you money, whatever, bro, do anything. But as soon as you get established, you kind of stopped doing all that stuff. It depends on how advanced you are in your thinking and your confidence, right?"     "We're known for doing the best highest quality work in my city, period. And I got to charge for it. So that's when you move upstream, higher up in the pyramid, where you say, you know what, I'm only going to do quality work for quality money. That's what we do. We do beautiful work, and we charge more because of my reputation on the line, and that's where I get in where I fit in. Right? That's just me, but think about stuff like that, right?"   Connect with Keith Facebook Instagram  YouTube LinkedIn Website   Other Helpful links! Today's show is all about recognizing our Veterans. Little did we know that most of our very own American Soldiers, after risking their lives, some of them, although not all, are coming home homeless, penniless, and worst, they feel forgotten. That is why we have here today, Miss Sandy Mc Nabb Bower (Founder and Volunteer Director of Vets Returning Home) to share how she got to the point of starting this organization that is helping our Veterans start their new life. Sandy will tell us the story of why she chose to start this organization, how and what her purpose is in helping our veterans in need. Our Veterans are asking for help, and they need us. They need you! They are not asking for a lot but, a little help is appreciated Suppose you are the person who has the heart for our veterans in need. Vets Returning Home's contact number is: Vets Returning Home Phone Number: 586-285-5606 You may also reach the founder herself through Phone Number: 586-216-8510 You could also send her an email at  sandy@empirepays.com For more info on how you can sign up for their Sponsored Partnership Program, visit them at https://www.vetsreturninghome.org/spp Website: https://www.vetsreturninghome.org/ Topics covered: 1:30 - Introduction to Sandy Bower. Her reason and mission for starting this non-profit organization. 6:18: Let's see for ourselves. If you are in Michigan and would like to drop by and say hello, pay your respect to our heroic heroes. Sandy is inviting you to visit them at 17955 E Eleven Mile Rd, Roseville, MI 48066, United States. (Click the Address Link to load Google Map) 8:37 - How did this non-profit organization start? 13:01 - Amid this COVID crisis, how are they surviving? Sandy shares with us how. 23:27 - Sandy's tips for us, business owners, on how to survive the crisis. "For me, failure was not an option," - she says   Key Takeaways "So I created this where if a business makes a commitment to the returning home, like a monthly commitment for because I'm really trying to build that residual, where no matter what happens with fundraising dinners and large gatherings and stuff, we need to survive no matter what. So the different thresholds are like there's a package for $25 a month, $50 a month, or $100 a month. And in exchange, because it's got to be a win-win. So, for the business that participates in our supporting partner program, I bought this plaque. So you get this plaque that says we're a proud supporter of Vets Returning Home with our logo. And then, they get a window cling, the same image, window cling's proud supporter, they get to put our logo on their website, and we put their logo on our website, we come out and do a live stream featuring their business, and encourage the community to help support their business while they're supporting our veterans."   "The little train that could that's the biggest secret. The little train that could, and it's funny because when I share that, with so many of these younger ones that I mentor, they're like, Really? That's it?. I am dead serious. If you think you can, you can. If you tell yourself, oh, I don't think I can do that. Well then, guaranteed you will fail."   Connect with Sandy Bower Facebook   Connect with Vets Returning Home Facebook Instagram  YouTube Website   Connect with Keith Facebook Instagram  YouTube LinkedIn Website   Other Helpful links! My friend, if you haven't watched my keynote speech at the IWCA convention (International Window Cleaners Convention) in Orlando, Florida. Here's the audio version so you could listen to it while you're doing your errands today.    And if you're one of those people who already watched, thank you so much! If in case you want to playback, I appreciate your effort and willingness to learn.    To those who don't have any idea. I discuss the 5 Ps of Personal Development, based on Abundance Frequency and Reframing Your Perspective on Time // To Become a Success Magnet. A Tip On Personal Development, Well Being, and Having Peace in Your Life. Lines, Levels, States, and Stages of Consciousness | Paradigm Shifts. As taught by Ken Wilber.   "I remember so many times when I was online about to buy a ticket for a convention. And then my excuses got in the way, and I didn't want to drive across the country or fly across the country. And I did it anyway. And then I met one guy, or one person, or even a group of guys, I sat down having dinner with and that very conversation changed my life.. I found myself at one in the morning, leaving a restaurant with a group of guys in tears literally having the breakthrough transformational conversation that made me go back home a different man." - Keith Kalfas.   Topics Covered:   1:36 - The five p's of personal development    1:41 - "Presence" - When you're right here, right now, live events are where you go to get your life change   2:45 - "Pride" - Here are some things that get in the way. And it's our ego and our pride.    6:53 - "Pressure" - If you had this much time from the whole state to get something done, you'll literally procrastinate down to the last 10% and get it all done.   12:37 - "Persistence" - Sometimes you got to have a breakdown to have a breakthrough.    24:34 - "Power" - That's when you move from a place of feeling like you're not worthy of being completely worthy. This thing happens when your worth rises, and now nothing is impossible for you.    The second part I allotted for the Question and Answer portion regarding Social Media Marketing to help build their marketing strategy.  Some of the questions answered are:   How do you start YouTube and create a list and video idea content topics and start publishing it? Are you using the library? Did you just make a list of words? Like, one bite at a time? How do we start doing this?   What's the number one thing that you want to put on social media posts that increase or boost your SEO?   Are there certain players that you utilize to help build these things to make the process or making the edits quicker when it comes to splicing them together and add music?   Do you use keywords to get the traffic boost for your videos?       Key Takeaways:   "I never knew that, that your self-worth and your belief in yourself are directly tied to your income and your socio-economic strata. It's definitely those two things. And the more my self-worth went up was the more that my income went up, and the more my business grew, and the healthier my life got. So, know your worth."   "I believe you have to have a personality now on social media. It could be you or it could be one of your lead techs who likes doing that, like super important when you have a personality, selling the business, and just being yourself. That's what's going to authentically pull in and make the customers lock-in, gravitate and listen. Because they want to see a person. So, they come for the information, or they come to get the service or what they need."     Connect with Keith Facebook Instagram  YouTube LinkedIn Website   Other Helpful links! After giving my keynote speech at the 2021 IWCA convention (International Window Cleaners Convention), I went to Bobby Walker's office.   For those who don't know, Bobby. He is the Bitch whisperer who started the No Bitch Zone group.    Together with our friend Quentin Howell, we reminisce about how everything started. We talk about our businesses, share our insights about our journey, money, leadership, and of course, Jurassic Park.       "A bitch is someone that doesn't pursue their own goals or their dreams because of their own fears, or because of what other people may say Think or Do. And at the end of the day, it's someone that doesn't have personal accountability. So don't be a bitch; be the guy that goes out there, chases the dreams achieves the goals. And honestly, no matter if you achieve them, it just matters if you're running towards them. So that's the No Bitch Zone." - Bobby Walker   Topics Covered:  2:59 - Bobby's story began when this bitch whisperer watched my YouTube video.   11:03 - Quentin shares his story of how he fought the struggles he faced during his divorce. How he managed to rise from his downfall.   18:16 - Just like them, I started very small. I am proud of it because of the struggles I've been through. Life's lesson has taught me so many things. That's what I want to share with you guys.   21:06 - Being tired of working for somebody else. As Bobby says, "It's not so easy to build a business that is independent of you. BUT if you don't want to work for someone else, that part's actually really easy, as long as you're cool with rejection."   25:20 - Failure is looked at the wrong way. As for Bobby, failure must be looked at differently. Instead of quitting, this must remind you that you must push to get your goal.    30:50 - Never quit. Please don't say that it's not working until you yourself finds it not really working.     Key Takeaways:    "They want to start their own business, but they do have that fear. The crazy thing is, it's really, really easy. To replace a basic income doing anything, you can pick up dog poop and replace an average income. It's not so easy to build a business that is independent of you. But if you don't want to work for someone else, that part's actually really easy, as long as you're cool with rejection." - Bobby Walker.   "The problem again is not your market. It's you. So when these people do these things that you're talking about, they go out there, try it, and what have you. That's the keyword is they tried it and my philosophy, my internal mentality, when I'm doing things like five, is trying to clip flyers, you know, which is a real controversial way of marketing, always sparks arguments and debates on what I'm trying whatever I say to myself, I'm going to prove that this thing doesn't work before I ever quit." - Bobby Walker.   "It's very interesting when you have a service-based business because there's always somebody, and if there's not, you just haven't networked with them yet or found out how to get that person to connect. They're always ready to write a check, please, I need you. I've been looking for you please. Um, you have so many people calling you and begging you to dig their money to come quote-unquote, clean their stuff, or provide that service that service businesses."  - Keith Kalfas.   "So people are terrified of rejection and things like that. If I could talk about who moved your cheese, if you throw some mice inside of a maze and you put cheese in a corner, they'll go, and they'll find it, and they'll eat the cheese. When the cheese is gone, the mice will bump their heads up against the wall for a couple of minutes. And then where's the cheese? Oh, I guess it's gone. So they'll bounce? No, keep looking around the maze, and they'll keep looking until they find more cheese. And that's the pattern of mice, and God made mice. Let's just say that when you put humans in a maze, you do the same thing. It could be a job. It could be cash could be an opportunity when that thing is gone. They don't usually wake up and say, oh, it's gone. Okay, well, let's look somewhere else for the opportunity. They'll literally start banging their head against the wall until they go insane, and starboard. doesn't die in that corner. Yeah. And so we've been trained and conditioned in a job to find another job like the rejection of entrepreneurship, of getting turned down all the time. Yeah, that's what I think people are terrified of. They think they're gonna starve to death. You've been working your ass off, daytime probably till night. You don't rest. You keep working, working, working until you save this ton of money because you want to have financial freedom. But, let me ask you this. Are you just saving your money, or are you investing it to make it grow? Saving versus Investing. Interesting, right? Let me tell you one thing. A man who saves money is wise but, a man who invests his saved up money is a WISER. Now, you've got to be asking, "Hey, where to invest, Keith?" That's why I invited a long-time friend of mine to tell us more about Real Estate investment. Guys, I'm not telling you to jump to this quickly. I want you to listen, understand, and then think if this is really for you. Remember, investing is not as easy as one, two, three. There are things to consider and a process to follow. So dive in as Andrew, and I talk about Real Estate Investment. I promise you; this episode is worth your time.   Topics Covered:  00:49 - Andrew - "The Real Estate Guru"   1:47 - How did it all start? His real estate investment on the works.   4:34 - "For the most part, it takes a lot longer to kind of build-up that portfolio than it does to buy a house put a whole bunch of money into it" - he says   7:17 -Now, here is the part where Andrew talks about how to start your Real Estate investment   8:54 - Say you don't have enough money to buy a property for this investment. Is it okay to borrow from a bank? Wouldn't this bury me of debt?.. Great question there, guys. But, let's listen to Andrew as he explains the difference between good and bad debt.   18:04 - Technique, technique, technique, and more of it here. Learn how this cash flow works   24:17 - Tenant requirements. Is it necessary? Yes! Why? listen...   29:56 - Ooops, great Infos, right? Seems easy and seems fun. But, think about it first because as Andrew says. Real Estate is not for everyone.       Key Takeaways:   "A lot of people I've noticed are afraid to buy their first property because they're trying to chase the perfect time in the economy to buy. A lot of people think either price are too high, or they're too low. And we think they can go lower, they want to get the best deal that they can they want to see the upside of it, what I've learned is you're never going to be able to time the market perfectly. You just need to go off history and what you have today and decide if it's the right time. I think if you're buying in a sense of trying to create a cash flow if you're buying long-term rentals, it's always a good time to buy as long as that property cash flows, meaning it's going to bring in more rents than expenses are going out."   "You start with your one or two properties. And as those grow and create equity, you can eventually either sell those and buy one big apartment building. Or you can take the equity from those four or five, six houses, and use it as a down payment on a small apartment building and still hold on to those properties that have the cash flow there. And even though you are taking out a larger debt on it, and now you have maybe another $100,000 in debt on that payment, you only have an additional $500, say on 100,000. So you have to make sure that still covered by your rents coming in which if rents keep increasing, it's covering your larger debt now. So you're still cash flowing on them, you've held on to them. And now you've been able to move on and buy this bigger property and have more cash flow."   "Real estate is great from a tax perspective and is able to create passive income, but it is not for everyone, it really isn't, I think I truly have a passion for it. And I think this kind of goes back to why I always wanted to flip homes, I like buying properties. And seeing them evolve and being able to fix them and bring them back to life. I like doing that whether it's a single-family home, or a multifamily and truly contributing to the neighborhood, in the city. And even if you have a single-family home, and you plant flowers out front, or you fertilize the grass for a summer and get the grass green, the neighbors see that and they all start doing that."   Connect with Keith  Facebook Instagram  YouTube LinkedIn Website   Other Helpful links! Today's episode is exceptional because I have here with me my Godfather, friend, and mentor. Mr. Michael Leonard A short introduction about him: he is a Lead Census Field Manager at the U.S. Department of Commerce, and he's been working there for about 1 year and 7 months. He is very skilled in Nonprofit organizations, coaching, and public speaking (Now you know where I got my talent from.) But, before that, he's assisting Veterans in navigating the various methods to fund Post-Secondary Education at Wayne University. A very talented, Man. One of the people who I look up to. Join us today as he shares his meaningful perspective in life.   "People don't change unless they choose to change. And some people like yourself have made positive changes in our life. Other people go with the flow; they stay in their comfort zone. And they stay the same way." - Michael Leonard.     Topics Covered:  00:20 - Introduction to Michael Leonard "My Godfather"   2:37 - You have to keep your eye on the goal, whatever that goal is, and faith is the most important component of all. A good combination to use to be able to achieve your goals in life.   7:24 - To lead, a person has to have the betterment of the people around him at heart, which makes a leader be able to be open. Be able to conduct themselves and say things as uses the word wisdom.   14:10 - A salesmanship is actually a form of teaching. You tell others what you want to do and how they can theoretically benefit them.   17:36 - Leadership comes with great responsibility and setting up a good example not only to adults but most importantly to children. Content is very important.   21:49 - My friend Joshua Latimer has created a community called "Honor and fire. It's about family faith and belief systems.   27:59 - Maintain your decorum at all times.     Key Takeaways:  "Listen to what your wife has to say. And don't try to think about what you want to get off your chest first. After you listen to what she has to say, you address it, then maybe you share what happened at work, and you want to vent, and that's called good communication." - Michael Leonard.   "You need to maintain your decorum. You need to maintain who you are as an individual. Despite what's surrounding you." - Michael Leonard.   "Don't use filthy language. Don't use violence. With respect to the person, you're talking with. Listen to what they have to say even if you don't like it, have a dialogue with that other person. You all have a choice of how you're going to react. Choose how you're gonna react, you have a moment in time, use it wisely." -  Michael Leonard    Connect with Keith  Facebook Instagram  YouTube LinkedIn Website   Connect with Michael LinkedIn   Other Helpful links! So I had to become a role model for myself so that I can serve others." - Daniel Miraval.     Topics Covered:  1:01 - Daniel Miraval board certified master arborist. 2:37 - Here is a quick story of how Daniel started his career as an Arborist. 6:08 -  You've got to have your mission statement, your core values, and your vision.     Key Takeaways:  “You've got to really have your own mission statement, your core value set up, you got to have your own vision for that ride. on someone else drive you either have to have that from within.” - Daniel Miraval       Connect with Keith  Facebook Instagram  YouTube LinkedIn Website   Other Helpful links! The Untrapped Podcast With Keith Kalfas

Hey, my friend. This episode I've recorded is not from my YouTube video. I recorded this separately just for this podcast. This is the only channel where you could hear this topic.  While driving going somewhere, I just want to get this off my chest. This is about abundance, about failure, about fears and worthiness. What is worthiness to you really? I grew up in poor dirt surrounded by poor people. And all they thought was poor thoughts. And that permeates in my brain. And now I'm on my way to being rich. In fact, I'm going to be the richest person I know. I just know that. See, even though I'm not there yet, I know it's going to happen. Now, let's understand why self-worth is important, and why you must add it to your formula on how to be rich.   "For the first time in my life. I am a provider, and I've never gotten to be that ever before in my life, and the feeling of being a provider, I take so much pride in it."   Topics Covered: 1:40 - Before reaching the top, you must start from the bottom. I remember working in a collision shop in the middle of winter detailing cars for $9 an hour. I was broke my whole life. For 30 years, I was broke. But, do we settle in this situation? Of course not. You must find a way to survive. You don't stop, my friend. You don't stop until you find a way. 4:13 - You thought that I was kidding when I told you that I didn't grow up silver-spooned? Listen to what I have to say... 6:30 - When you slowly reach your goal and start earning big money. You slowly build your confidence, your self-worth, yourself. 10:57 - So when you finally hit a six-figure business, you can finally afford a couch, you can get a bed, you can get tables and chairs. You can finally get a dresser with a matching nightstand. Do you know what I mean? You will feel amazed and fulfilled. That's a success for me! 19:36 - Again, this is just a short episode, but I can't stress this enough that there are tons of courses and programs and podcasts and things that can teach you how to sell more and make more money. Do your own due diligence. 21:36 - To finish off, think about what is missing in your formula after you've followed all the advice. Do you think that you have self-worth? Are you worthy? When you feel worthy of it, and you believe that you deserve it, everything will follow. Think about it, my friend.      Key Takeaways:   "If you want to make more money, if you want to get to the next level in the next step, or you feel like it's impossible to get there. It's totally not possible."   "When you say it, you believe in yourself. And if resistance comes up, you just take a breath, and you just keep breathing through that. Keep repeating it to yourself, feeling it and normalizing and your system as though that's totally normal."     Connect with Keith  Facebook Instagram  YouTube LinkedIn Website   Other Helpful links! Are You Subconsciously Sabotaging Your Success Because You Feel Guilty About Becoming Successful? | 5 Steps Before You Start a Landscaping Business

I have two chapters lined up for you guys in this episode. Steps to becoming successful are not easy, even you're already there and have achieved your goal. Still lots of improvements you need to make, many things you need to learn. Don't stop. Do what you have to do.   "I took so much pride in creating value and being a giver to people the best that I knew how and I create, I found great value in that. But I was doing it through the years to the point where it was becoming detrimental to my own success. Where I wasn't leveling up myself. And I actually uncovered through time in some tough trials and tribulations that  I was actually afraid of success. So I was sabotaging my own success in doing everything to help everybody else because I was too afraid and too guilty." -  Keith Kalfas   Topics Covered: Are You Subconsciously Sabotaging Your Success Because You Feel Guilty About Becoming Successful   It came to the point that I am becoming detrimental to my own success. Where I wasn't leveling up myself. And I actually uncovered through time in some severe trials and tribulations.   You need to give everything away to everybody else all the time, to the detriment of your own self. And so I started to stop and take a moment and say, Wait a second. What if this amazing thing I just learned was meant only for Keith right now? And I stopped, and I said to breathe and practice receiving, which doubled my income. Doubled my income. My revenue. You see, you need to learn for yourself too.... You need to apply it to your own self.   And I worked on my receiving muscles of learning how to be not only a cheerful giver but a delighted receiver without feeling guilty, and I still struggle with it, right? But I've come to this conclusion that the more comfortable you are with the giving, receiving relationship of being a value add or a value creator, someone who creates value for everybody, you're always creating value in your giver. But you also have to be a receiver. This is a give and take relationship to make things work.   I noticed once I start to become a little bit successful, there are many people in my life. And it's been an emotional process of growing up and maturing, to learn what's real, what's fact from what's fiction, because other people's victim stories, and unwillingness to grow and evolve in their own life really be exposed, and there'll be a spotlight put on them. When you start to grow, and you start to shine.     5 Steps Before You Start a Landscaping Business     If you're going to start a business and get it up to six figures, a full-time business. belief, the belief that it can actually happen for you if you make it happen. Even if you have a crappy plan, it's better than no plan at all, get some sort of a game plan together. If you haven't ever done it before, you have to have some type of a game plan.   Confidence is the belief, your belief in your ability, your belief in your ability to figure things out. Do you believe in yourself?   Visualize this is so powerful. If you have a little bit of confidence in yourself, it's a question Wait for a second, if I just gave myself a chance, and I believed in myself, would that increase my chances of success at this?   Expand means once you get a lot of activity going in the business and you're busy now you can start to come back through, say you know what, I want to raise my prices a little bit now you develop the real skill sets of learning how to have difficult conversations with customers and how to learn your value and your self worth and prove that you are who you say you are.     Key Takeaways:   "If you don't have your mindset straight. If you can get excited about entrepreneurship in general, that you get to be your own boss and call the shots and build a business from your mind into reality how you see fit, and actually generate revenue and do positive things in the world. And you have the belief that it can happen for you."   "Even if you've never done the thing before, get a pen and a piece of paper and make a list of your plan of attack of how you're actually going to go out and do this thing. And he also told me even if you have a crappy plan, just get the plan together, get going move forward confidently. And then reiterate your plan as you go."   Connect with Keith  Facebook Instagram  YouTube LinkedIn Website   Other Helpful links! The Untrapped Podcast With Keith Kalfas

I tell a story about an embarrassing moment that happened between one of my Best friends and me.  I want to share this with all of you, and I hope you learn from this just as much as I did.   "I believe it's important to start having difficult conversations, not only with other people but with yourself, to stop you from being stagnant. If you want to grow on the outside, you got to grow on the inside. And sometimes it's not easy to face the fact that you're not perfect, that you have things in your life or in your psychology, that is just deeply embedded that you haven't worked through yet." -  Keith Kalfas.   Topics Covered:  A fake friend won't say anything, and they'll talk shit behind your back. Real Friends hold you accountable.   It's your ego getting in the way because you have some complexity.   I wouldn't be on the ropes unless William trained me to do ropes.    Friendship wasn't about money. It was about camaraderie. It was about loyalty. It was about a lot of other things.   My friend William is one of those friends that you only meet once in a lifetime.   You need to find somebody who doesn't give a shit about what you have or what you don't have or what you know. Who cares about your accomplishments, just as you care about his.     Key Takeaways: "When the student is ready. The teacher will appear when you're ready, and you stand up, and you say that you're ready when you look your own eyes. In the mirror, he says, I'm ready, I'm ready for this doors will open up, and opportunities will open up in your life and your business. And miracles will happen that you've always dreamed of coming true in your life. It'll all happen for you."   "Do you feel worthy of having what you say you want? As soon as you feel worthy, and you feel that you deserve it, you got it, it's yours if it's available, and other people can access it too. And people that have these aspirational qualities that you know or know of or see on social media, they have things, or they have lives that you wish you had. They're just people. Sharing with you guys the five things I've learned to do BEFORE Year-end Taxes. I know these things could be very annoying to you, because it happened to me, right? That is why here are the tips that I learned based on my own experience. You could follow these steps, or don't. It doesn't matter. What's important to me is. You get debt-free, whether you get help or do it in your own way. Let's dive in.   "I have a mentor who's one of my best friends who went from having a $2.3 million business to ending up going bankrupt, and going $1.4 million in debt, losing everything and getting audited, he lived out every entrepreneur's nightmare. He used to tell me these nightmare stories A long time ago in vivid detail that scares the crap out of me to make me understand that the taxes thing is a non-negotiable, right? I'm very thankful for that. And I want to share some of this with you" - Keith Kalfas   Topics Covered: 1:01 - Quickbooks account - start here, it will save you time to manage all your books to reconcile your finances. 1:23 -  Bookkeeper - hire someone who could help you manage your books. And hey, I have this awesome bookkeeper who is great doing this stuff, Dan Platta and he is super awesome. He is the CEO of Blue skies Bookkeeping and I assure you what he did for me he can do for you. 4:34 - Write all your finances 5:28 - Have a quick talk with your accountant or bookkeeper, talking to them and allowing them to give you advice on your finances could really help you settle your finances. 7:11 -  Be organized. 7:29 - Don't hesitate to ask your accountant and/or your bookkeeper about your finances. It is better if you initiate the move to ask, it is better to know more about this stuff than avoiding these things.   Key Takeaways:  "Call your bookkeeper and your accountant or your CPA and I wouldn't recommend if you don't have an accountant, go find an accountant who specializes in taking care of small service-based businesses just like ours."   "So you go to your accountant, you sit down, and right in the middle of getting your taxes ready, you say hey, I've written a quick list of you know, five or seven things that I wanted to ask you while we're here face to face because I want to learn, right? Okay, whatever, okay? And then you just go down the list and get your questions answered and learn. And now not only are you not blindly just having your accountant take care of your or your take care of your taxes, but you're also learning the process as well."     Connect with Keith  Facebook Instagram  YouTube LinkedIn Website Connect with Dan Platta Hire Dan Platta For Bookkeeping Services. Be sure to listen to the end for: Tammy's Bonus tips on maintaining a good relationship, PLUS her take on The Wedding Cake case and the former Pageant queen's take on Miss America's swimsuit competition ban.  Her answers may surprise you! Tammy Shaklee The Gay and Lesbian Matchmaker   TAMMY SHAKLEE, FOUNDER OF H4M MATCHMAKING Tammy Shaklee is the “Gay & Lesbian Matchmaker” as a trailblazing straight ally. She is a former broadcast journalist, then district director for a Texas state senator turned ambassador to Sweden . After completing the acclaimed year-long business leadership program, Leadership Texas, Tammy followed her passion for mentoring by replicating a national mentoring program to prevent high school students from dropping out, was donor services director for a $150 million community foundation, then saved a Texas chapter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation as its CEO with aggressive increased revenues of 250%, receiving national recognition.  In 2012, Shaklee researched, designed, and founded H4M Matchmaking (H4M.com) in Austin, Texas. H4M is the private, offline, and personal matchmaking service designed exclusively for gay and lesbian professionals. Now serving clients from coast to coast including Texas lesbian women, H4M is leading a movement of more traditional introductions, courting and dating for today’s modern gay single seeking a monogamous long-term relationship. She believes the pro-equality movement invited straight allies to join in support. H4M is Tammy’s contribution to bring a traditionally straight service to the LGBT community. Happily married to her husband she met through a matchmaker, Tammy consults in leadership, hosts a monthly salon of media-savvy women, blogs, mentors, is (still) working on her first book, and has filmed a “sizzle reel” for an unscripted reality show on tolerance and inclusion.     Get the Notes!
