Why do successful entrepreneurs reach a point of overwhelm and what are the first steps to moving forward?Kate gives us her insight into why business owners can hit a ceiling and a feeling of exhaustion, even when they're reaching the point of seeing real success. How can you manage the overwhelm and being on that brink of growth where you wonder 'Can I really do this?' all the time. When you feel frazzled, the constant self talk and 'mind monkeys' rise up, this can be exactly the time to look to grow and expand and let the old stories and the old version of you go.Self-doubt and sabotage are big players when it's time to uplevel and it doesn't have to stay this way as there is no creativity without vulnerability. This vulnerabilty can cause feelings of exposure that can make you feel exhausted and you might feel like it's falling apart when it's really coming together! What's the balance between being self-led and needing leadership from others? How important is it to implement your self-care and use your energy wisely? All this and more as I discuss and debate with Kate and shine the light for women to move forward and rise up to meet their own dreams. Kate Davis is a business leadership mentor, an ICF certified coach, a business architect and change manager with 25 years of experience in mentoring and leading teams.https://www.katedavis.nethttps://www.facebook.com/katedaviscoachhttps://www.linkedin.com/in/katedaviscoach/Your Host, Teresa Brooks is a transformational Business & Mindset coach and founder of COACH Magazine & Podcast. Kate is talking with Teresa Brooks who has recently launched the Coach magazine and is a business coach and NLP practitioner. They discuss Teresa’s own experiences with mental health and the changing conversations and perceptions of mental health. This interview provides a window into an individual’s personal experiences and opens the discussion around prevention through coaching, education, personal understanding and empowerment. KEY TAKEAWAYS Business is personal and there is a difference between mental health issues and the blocks people face in business. It’s about the person; I’m coaching the person behind the business, not the business, you can't coach a business. Early in my adult life my endeavours to move forward brought a huge amount of pressure and stress which resulted in me crashing in all areas of my life. I was doing things, but I wasn’t connected anymore, everything was broken It was scary and very tiring; you cannot have any understanding of it unless you have experienced it. When you are in a state of depression you feel out of control about everything around you. People need a reason, a validation, an explanation and if you are suffering from a mental health issue it's not easy to describe how and what you are feeling. The forums are people all going through the same experiences and this can offer support but lead to you being kept in the same place when what you need to do is work on yourself Ultimately we all want to be heard, understood and helped when you find a place where you feel listened to it can seem like a safe haven. Lots of people will need extra support in their lives for a short period People can be helped and there are hugely varying degrees of mental health With the work I do, I'm not just listening to their words I'm listening to them, everything about them, I'm watching their physiology In children, mental health should be dealt with in ways that empower them and teaches what they can do to feel better and more powerful about themselves For children, it's about developing self-awareness and understanding who they are. It's important we think about our children the next generation must be able to live full and happy lives You are never too old to get to grips with how your mind works. There is always something to learn BEST MOMENTS ‘ is massively supportive, but we still worry about what others think’ ‘The more knowledge and learning we have from an early age the better’ ‘I continued to suffer from anxiety attacks because I was so scared it was going to come back’ ‘I have always been able to express myself but when I got to a place where I couldn’t speak about it I wrote everything down’ VALUABLE RESOURCES The Mental Health Revolution Podcast You can contact Teresa via her website: https://www.teresabrookscoaching.com/ You can subscribe to Coach Magazine view the website: https://www.teresabrookscoaching.com/coach-magazine/ ABOUT THE HOST Kate Ashley-Norman You can support The Mental Health Revolution, and contribute to the conversation in the following closed Facebook group - https://www.facebook.com/groups/238516643507943/ You can search Kate Ashley-Norman on any of these platforms – Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn. In Episode #77 on The Jen Mavros Show we sit down for a warm, heart-held conversation with Founder of The Beautiful You Coaching Academy, Editor in Chief of inspired COACH Magazine, Hay House Author and Hostess of The Priestess Podcast, my friend, the ever-so delightful, Julie Parker. Julie walks the path of a Modern Day Priestess infusing her love into the hearts of each person she encounters. During our time together, she defines for us what a Modern Day Priestess is, "she is a spiritual leader, especially connected to the Goddess and the Divine. However, it looks different today because we don't have the temples that we once used to. So for a modern day priestess, her temple could be a sacred circle on her floor, it could be a facebook group, it could be an online community, it could be a gathering of any kind in a local park. But essentially a Modern Day Priestess is a spiritual leader, she is a woman who is devoted to walking a path where she supports and assists other women to connect to their own divinity." We move into discussing Feminism, White Privilege, and Feminine Abundance. A heart-expanding and thought-inspiring conversation... One I'm certain you will love.  I can say now, with utter certainty, that after having spent time with Julie, I proudly stand tall as a self-proclaimed Priestess and Feminist [you might too, after a listen]. Grab a cup of tea sister, snuggle in and take a listen.

Y'all, I love today's guest. Talking to Julie Parker feels like being hugged by a fun and wise aunt. You feel safe, seen, heard, and you know that she's got experience and so much care to back up everything she's sharing. We started the conversation around femininity, sensuality, and flow, then ventured into life transitions. Julie runs a coaching certification school and has been in the industry for 17 years. She had a lot to say about the evolution of life coaching, we discussed some of our pet peeves in the current industry, and I got her opinion on when people are ready to either become a life coach, or hire a life coach. As a former therapist, it was also illuminating to hear Julie's perspective on when it's appropriate to hire a coach or hire a therapist. This is a very rich conversation, with tons of useful insight, I can't wait to hear what you think! Julie lives in Melbourne with her husband, stepdaughter and two much loved adopted cats. Show notes: Julie's inspiration behind creating the Beautiful You Coaching Academy Why Julie hired a coach to help her settle her inner mean girl chatter The beauty of being creative when you feel stuck with a decision Why hiring a coach to help her create her course wasn't really a tough decision to make The more powerful the questions are in a coaching session, the more powerful the client's self-awareness will become "Why" questions will never be as powerful as "how" and "what" questions What triggered Julie's disordered eating in her past and how she moved on Your problems with food are not really about food People do not care what you look like (SERIOUSLY!), they care about how you make them feel You are not for everybody, and that's okay.
