Welcome to HOOVERING, the podcast about eating. Host, Jessica Fostekew (Guilty Feminist, Motherland) has a frank conversation with an interesting person about gobbling; guzzling; nibbling; scoffing; devouring and wolfing all up… or if you will, hoovering. In this episode, comedian Dana Alexander makes me a beautiful lunch and I rustle up some vegan brownies to wolf down afterwards. Dana’s really into her cooking and we get deeply detailed about her recipes. You say cilantro, I say coriander. Also I accidentally do something very rude with salt. Dana’s recipe is given out loud in the podcast and here’s a link to the vegan fudge brownies I made. It's a packed house on this weeks Race Wars as comedians Mark Normand, Dana Alexander & Amy Miller join Kurt & Sherrod in studio as they get into which races will and won't do oral, 'white genocide', and who Azealia Banks is feuding with this week!
This week on the ACP with Greg and Jonathan, Greg asks Dana Alexander - a black female comedian - about which is more difficult: being black or female? Dana has a lot to say about both. Calling out a right-wing comedian on HuffPostUK even earned her her own blog there. And we meet Max Amini, Iranian/American comedy superstar. The Amsterdam Persian community stood in line to take a selfie with him. Go figure!
Dana Alexander was the very first guest on this program back in 2004. A second episode a few years later has disappeared into the ether so this is officially her second appearance (even though it's really her third). We get caught up on her quest for world domination. She moved from Edmonton to Vancouver to Toronto to England and has performed in about 20 different countries. Pretty impressive, innit?
RHEFP 2013 #19: Peacock and Gamble and Dana Alexander - Double Bumhole. Richard is concerned about all the people calling him 'The Spirit of the Fringe' this year. Come on people, that's for the corporate awards committees to decide, not you. He's tired out and dreaming of dangerous balloon rides with derivative double acts. And then his dreams come partly true as Proctor and Gamble arrive. The talk starts with bumholes and descends from there. Find out about Peacock's Muppet collection, his love of Les Dawson and a synopsis of his appearance on Doctors. Gamble chats about having a non-functioning pancreas, his love of the work of Richard Herring and how Peacock groomed him. Both of them admit that Richard is much better at comedy and podcasting than them and agree to retire. With stand-up from Dana Alexander. It's the last Tuesday! Hooray!
