Hello everybody, There's been a bit of a gap, I know, but I'm coming back and I'm going to be regular, I've already got episodes recorded with author and improviser, Paul Schiernecker, and THE FIRST RETURNING GUEST Matthew Crosby off of Pappy's and the radio where he has a show with Ed Gamble on Radio X. I also have records lined up with some incredible comedians, including the likes of comedy hero and podcast legend, Michael Legge, and a few other secret guests who I can't really announce yet, but they are ALL over the place, so I'm excited about that, too. I'm going to be bringing out some bonus content for Patreon, as well as developing the very long discussed merch, so it's exciting times in the Tea Party camp. Episode one of series two (or as I'll be referring to it, episode 53) will be landing on your doorsteps on WEDNESDAY MORNING, so subscribe and tell your friends. I'm excited to be back! Go HERE for details of upcoming shows, including TOUR DATES, and other places you can find me and the podcast. Much love, Si X

Earlier this month, Charlene came to the programme worried about the amount of lead in her drinking water. We heard from Dr Tristan Sturm of Queen's University who said more could be done to make people aware of the risks of any amount of lead in their water supply. NI Water's Head of Drinking Water Regulation, Alison McMullan, is in studio to answer your questions on drinking water, what NI Water is doing to remove lead pipes and how homeowners can find out whether there might be lead pipes supplying water to their property. We look ahead to Black Friday with Trading Standards who urge customers to stop before they shop, and the Consumer Council's postal expert Michael Legge explains how to swap out your old stamps for the new barcode editions.

In this episode, I talk to the wonderful London-based Irish comedian MICHAEL LEGGE about his comedy career. As well as an acclaimed stand-up comedian, Legge won a Chortle award for his blog, and a Sony silver award for his podcast Do The Right Thing. I first saw Legge perform as part of the sketch group Theatre Sports Downstairs at The Kings Head, Crouch End in 1992 and then as a regular warm-up comedian for recording of The Jack Docherty Show for Channel 5 at The Whitehall Theatre (now Trafalgar Studios) in London from 1995 to 1998. I also saw one of his many wonderful solo shows, The Idiot at The Edinburgh Fringe in 2019. ...something that might be of interest.DTRT's very own Michael Legge - the especially angry one - has a book coming out VERY SOON.'Strawberries To Pigs' is a collection of his writing from 2008 to 2020, and is also his way of apologising for inventing online anger and wrecking all our lives. Stories of romance, success and bravery are not included. Instead of writing about how fun and exciting the life of a comedian is, he decided to tell the truth.Join Michael as he tries hard to control his fury at absolutely everything in this selection of 14 of his favourite arguments (but probably not yours) from his archive, plus the brand-new short story Mister Err Gets Blocked. Please go to https://gofasterstripe.com/pigs for more information and to join the LIVE LAUNCH next Monday 8th November. My guest on this episode of The Sensitive Rebel is Michael Legge. Michael had a 20 year career in acting before challenges with anxiety and burnout led him to engage in deep personal exploration and work which led him to pivot into the world of coaching where he now works as the Mindhealth Coach.Among the topics you'll hear discussed in the episode are Michael's journey through becoming an actor, burning out, and pivoting to coaching, the role of environment in well-being and resilience, the importance of doing meaningful work, how traditional marketing approaches don't always fit, and the one key concept that's been most powerful for Michael in his growth journey. Michael Legge spent 20 years as a successful actor. He took those experiences and life lessons, and created a mindhealth program where you discover living from a place of purpose. On this week’s episode, I have Michael Legge, who is a former actor best known for playing teenage Frank McCourt in Allen parker’s 1999 movie Angela's ashes and you might also know him from other TV shows like Shameless. Since being famous in the acting world for over two decades, he has now transitioned into a new career, having extensively studied self-development, various forms of therapies, and coaching. Now he is the founder of the mind health coach, helping actors and performing artists with anxiety and achieving their peak performance to excel in their career. We actually met in India, a few years ago at a neuro-linguistic programming retreat and got on very well. I had to get him on the show as he made quite a career change and talks openly about it. In this episode, you will discover:How Michael made the decision to leave his successful career in acting of almost 20 years and the gradual transition to a new passion of coachingHow solving his own persistent level of anxiety in acting fuelled helping other actors with this common challenge in the professionWhat skills from a long and successful career in acting transferred into coaching? How Michael’s purpose changed as his career changed and the realisation of shifting from his ego to operating at the level of contribution to othersHow to tackle anxiety in your career and during Covid-19What’s the one thing that’s made Michael Legge burn from within?Resources:1Michael’s MindPerfect Program - get back in control of your mind in just 10 weeks: https://themindhealthcoach.com/control-mindperfect-program/ Follow Michael’s amazing tips and videos on Instragram @themindhealthcoachAngela’s Ashes - Michael’s first major movie when he was a child - watch it on Amazon Prime nowMichael’s career as a successful actor laid out on Wikipedia

Ho Ho 'Holy Moly' as Matt would say, what a festive treat we have in store for you! This Christmas, Castival guests return to pitch their favourite Christmas song of all time! Will the impassioned pitches of Matthew Crosby or Tom Parry steal the competition? Or will the festively furious rant from Michael Legge sum up the feeling of a nation? Whilst Laura Lexx practically fizzes with Christmas Joy, Bilal Zafar and Justin Moorhouse remain unconvinced by the seasonal selection. And there's plenty more where they came from... In our stocking this year we can expect some festive filler questions and generous dollops of the age old controversy: Christmas music. Love it or Hate it? Get prepping, cos Bec and Rory are joined by Michael Legge and Paul Foxcroft for a nosedive into the chaotic world of "post-apocalypse films". From 'Mad Max' to 'A Quiet Place', it's a crowded and sometimes rather random field, which probably explains why this episode produces two of the most bizarre ideas we've seen to date. Featuring a dystopian world in which gambling and country music are the only cultural and economic games in town, and an accidental time travelling adventure to a land where giant, sentient salad has taken over. This episode's a weird one, we're not going to lie. We've got a real treat this week with Michael Legge (@michaellegge) popping in, excellent comedian, team captain on the 'Do The Right Thing' podcast, television host & retired thief. We talk Northern Ireland because it's about time isn't it? Michael grew up in a small town that sounds like Newtown-Ornes but could be anything really (I couldn't catch it over the hour) full of racists, and skipped university to move to London 30 years ago and begin working for Northern Ireland Media during the end of The Troubles (fun fact: they started when Michael was born and ended when he left). Growing up Catholic in a Protestant town, not understanding Loyalists, and joking about loving the IRA on stage. There's also a great chat about people saying they're Irish, especially Americans with shamrock hats who've never been and don't know a single sentence of Beckett. Stop it. All Michael's live dates and previous shows can be found on his website, michaellegge.bandcamp.com Daniel Muggleton (@danmuggleton) is the regular host of #TheUnionJackOff, you can email him at theunionjackoff@gmail.com or find live dates on his website www.danielmuggleton.com
It's coming to the end of 2018, and inspired by the brilliant Two Shot Podcast, this week and last week, we chose some of our favourite clips from all the cheery chats about death we've had, since we started in 2016.In this episode you'll hear clips from Cariad talking to Sophie Black, Robert Popper, Deborah Frances-White, Michael Legge, Gary Andrews, Suzi Ruffell, Eshaan Akhbar, Bobby Mair, Ana Matronic and Aisling Bea. Canadian singer-songwriter Ben Caplan is on tour in Europe at the moment with his band and new musical Old Stock: A Refugee Love Story, so he dropped by the studio to chat with Robin and Michael Legge, subbing for Josie again whilst she's on maternity leave. They chat of Jewish refugees, squeezing philosophy lines into songs, great music biographies by hard rockers and much more. And Michael does an ad for Mercedes for which we very much didn't get paid for. Extended edition for Patreons as always. Please consider supporting the show at patreon.com/bookshambles so we can keep on making it!
Edgar August Poe kicks off with a film featuring one of the icons of classic horror - Dwight Frye - as well as a director who would probably never be caught dead, or undead, directing a monster movie but he did act in this one - Erich von Stroheim. It's 1935's The Crime of Dr. Crespi (dir. John H. Auer), and Derek has Michael Legge (aka Dr. Dreck) to thank for bringing this fun kinda-sorta-Poe-adaptation(?) into his life. Plus Jeff Polier's Weird Wednesday Report, and a new segment from Ken Blose about Famous Monsters of Filmland! Author and avid swimmer Jenny Landreth joins the show to talk about her latest book Swell: A Waterbiography. She also brought along a bag full of her favourite books about swimming including works by Al Alvarez, Tanya Shadrick and Leanne Shapton. Stewart Lee is still around at the start of the episode for a lovely bit of synchronicity and Josie Long was still off with norovirus so Michael Legge is sitting in again to enjoy the chat and recommend some Spiderman comics. It'll all make sense when you listen to it, we promise... You can support the show on Patreon at patreon.com/bookshambles and not only help the show keep getting made, but also get yourself lots of rewards and goodies! For instance, this week, there's an extra 15 minutes of chat from this episode and you'll get plus a bonus episode with Phill Jupitus too.
In Part 2 of Stewart Lee's second visit to Book Shambles, Stew, Robin and guest co-host Michael Legge continue their conversation getting into the work of Rosemary Tonks, David Keenan, Dave Graney and Ithell Colquhoun. Also Stew doesn't like Dunkirk and Michael's annoyed on trains. This show wouldn't be possible without the support of our brilliant Patreon supporters. You can pledge to the show and get lots of brilliant rewards at patreon.com/bookshambles
Stewart Lee was our first ever guest on Book Shambles and now he’s back in Season 7 as our first return guest. Unfortunately Josie was ill at the last minute so for this episode the role of Josie was played by Michael Legge. Robin, Michael and Stew chat about Jarret Kobek, Alice Cooper and Mohave Ethnopsychiatry. This was a long chat so we’ve split it into two parts. The Forgotten Horrors series of books are MUST-HAVE books for any self-respecting Monster Kid, and this week on Monster Kid Radio, one of the men behind this long-running series - Michael H. Price - joins the show. He's not the only Michael dropping by, though. Michael Legge, also known as the horror host Dr. Dreck, is joining Derek this week on the podcast as well. We play the Classic Five. We talk about how we fell in love with the more obscure (dare we say, forgotten?) horror movies. And we also run through our Top Three Favorite Forgotten Horror Movies. Plus, we have Feedback, MKR's Year of Frankenstein continues, and there are two amazing movie screenings coming up that Monster Kid Radio will be . In this 54th episode, Michael Legge returns for a 2nd chat in Michael Legge 2: Michael Legger (yup, still using that Die Hard sequel titling scheme, and will forever.) Topics covered include a nice Batman, fighting Robin Ince, and we take our first visit over to Vegan Corner. Also, his dick. We talk a bit about Michael's dick. And thanks again to The Stand for letting me use their premises to record this sweet chat action. Michael on twitter: twitter.com/michaellegge. Chats (for you) on twitter: twitter.com/chatsforyou. Up next - a 3rd guest appearance from James Acaster in James Acaster 3: James Acaster With A Vengeance (told you I was sticking to the scheme)
Fuelled by a seemingly-bottomless well of anger, and capable of articulating it hilariously, Michael Legge rages that life isn't as beautiful as it should be. We learn how his own righteous ire mimics that of his bulletproof mum, discover the origins of twitter game #FuckAThing, and just at the end get him to say something pretentious about art. Cariad Lloyd and Phil Wang are the guests for the first of two summer special episodes. The teams discuss volcanic eruptions, noisy neighbours, evil twins, loud sex, battle re-enactors, violent cats, baldness and antiques with expert guest Mark Hill (surely the first DTRT guest who is also a regular on Antiques Roadshow?). The show also features the return of former guest and 'No Such Thing As A Fish' stalwart Dan Schreiber - this time very skillfully stepping in for the absent Producer Ben. Michael Legge's new book Dr. Dreck's B-Movie Museum is Monster Kid Radio's topic du jour, and who better to talk about the book with Derek than Michael Legge himself! RHLSTP #57: Michael Legge - Spreading All Your Nits About. For the first time in RHLSTP history, a guest has been unable to make the recording at the last minute. Al Murray had to drop out due to illness and so Rich was forced to find a new guest who could get to central London in an hour. And that guest was Michael Legge - no, not the one from the film Angela's Ashes or the blind or deaf Hereford-based massage therapist. The one from the Bollings and Nerrin Podcast. I can only apologise. But it turns out that the podcast might be even better with no preparation (ha, as if there's any anyway) and last second bookings cos Michael has funny stories about how he copes with people playing music on the bus, falling out with Robin Ince, Richard's inability to clap, and why he won't eat stuff that's come out of an animal. And there's more serious chat about the rise of the new-sexism in comedy and an almost entirely successful comedy of nostalgia about a show that nobody in the audience seems to have heard of. It gets awkward and weird, but they push through that and find some funny stuff again. He's no Al Murray and he might not even be the Michael Legge that you're thinking of, but he was the best we could do in the time available.SUPPORT THE SHOW!Check out our website and become a badger and see extra content http://rhlstp.co.ukSee details of the RHLSTP tour dates http://richardherring.com/gigsBuy DVDs and Books at http://gofasterstripe.com See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

Welcome to Epi81 of Succotash, The Comedy Podcast Podcast. I, Marc Hershon, am not alone this week. Joining me as co-host for the show, via Skype, is Associate Producer Tyson Saner! It was about a year ago that Tyson began sending me a stray clip or two, testing the waters to see if his choices jibed with the "flow of the show". And it wasn't long after that I recognized his value in helping me to canvas the vastness that is Podcastland in our ever-widening efforts to sample comedy podcasts. By the end of last summer he'd been named our Honorary Associate Producer. He supplies the show with at least three and as many as a half-dozen of the clips you hear every week, as well as giving me valuable background info on both the specific clips and the shows from which they've been harvested. At the beginning of the year he became our ACTUAL Associate Producer – as you can now hear in Bill Heywatt's closing credits – and this won't be the last time we hear his dulcet tones on the show, methinks. In the course of the show we find out a little of Tyson's background, how he stumbled into being a massive podcast listener and fan, how he found Succotash and what really catches his attention when it comes to deciding to click that Subscribe button on a show. We also have a DOZEN clips in this show, not to mention our Burst O' Durst, a brand new Henderson's Pants ad, and even a song from out of Tyson's repertoire of original music (most of which is available - for free - from SoundCloud!) PLUS we have a Special Bonus Interview at the very end of this epi! Keep listening after Bill Heywatt says "Goodbye!" to hear my interview with Cole Stratton, co-organizer of the 13th Annual San Francisco Sketchfest and co-host of podcasting's Pop My Culture. We were backstage (or "mid-stage", actually) following his appearance in Speechless (a show I help produce) at the Sketchfest. Our chat is only about nine minutes long but, as it comes at the end of the longest Succotash episode yet recorded, it's a while getting there. Top 10 Most Active Shows In Stitcher's Top 100 Comedy Podcast List No wild swings up or down the Stitcher 100 list this past week, but there definitely was some movement in the chart… AT MOVED 9. Never Not Funny/Jimmy Pardo -12 I guess there WAS a major jump up the charts, actually, if you look at Succotash's nuimbers. We went from #5945 last week to #5107 this week, so that's pretty sweet! The 2nd Annual Stitcher Awards were last week and I attended the ceremony, which was held at The Chapel in San Francisco. Many awards were given out for categories across the spectrum. I recount the winner in this episode of Succotash, but you can also go see the list of top prize getters on the Stitcher blog. Burst O' Durst In this episode's installment of comedian Will Durst's running commentary, he takes some potshots at the ultra-rich. Novak, actor/writer from The Office and the author of a new book of short stories. The Clips Chillpak Hollywood HourThis week’s clip from CHH with Dean Haglund & Phil Leirness features them thanking me for catching a big ol’ audio snafu in their recent episode. (Hey, we podcasters have to help each other out, right?) SModcastVintage SModcast (from July 10th, 2008) wherein Kevin Smith turns ordinary circumstances into "What If?" adventure time, pushing Scott Mosier furthur and further outside his comfort zone as the "What if"s become more and more unlikey, bizarre and often outrageous. EdumacationThe idea behind this show (form the SModcast universe) is that Kevin Smith needs educating so Andy McElfresh brings in stories and information from around the world while Kevin asks as many questions as he possibly can which Andy also attempts to answer. Hilarity Ensues. This clip is of Andy attempting to apply real world diagnoses to the cast of The Cosby Kids. Fitzdog RadioBobcat Goldthwait’s always entertaining and this time Greg Fitzsimmons has him. We get an interesting glimpse into the life of the once celebrated madman comedian whose ambition these days is all about making and directing movies. To fuel his interest, he’s back in the clubs, which leads to an interesting series of comedy club anecdotes. Perfectly ImperfectThis panel-based comedy commentary show features four variously "challenged" hosts – Kathy Buckley, Tobias Forrest, Geri Jewell and Mark Povinelli – who take off on, debate, and otherwise have their way with a variety of topics. In this clip, it's about marriage equality and Muppets. Broadcast BasementI was a guest with Chris Lanuti, the main host of podcasting’s Broadcast Basement this week. He asked me what kinds of podcasts I don’t particular like and which ones I do. Also how Broadcast Basement can get mentioned on our show more. Having me on as a guest is obviously one way… Nardwuar, The Human ServietteNardwuar's chats with musicians are among some of the most unique in the history of music interviews. He plays his own version of This Is Your Life complete with memorabilia and gifts for his guests. In this clip, he's speaking with eclectic musician Jaap Blonk. Do The Right ThingAnother fine British recommendation from our friend @Good_Podcasts, Do The Right Thing is a comedy panel show hosted by Danielle Ward with team captains Michael Legge and Margaret Cabourn-Smith. Guest team members this week are Jason Manford & Sara Pascoe. In the “Agony Aunt” sequence this episode, the panel answers a letter about how to deal with a free-loading, loser former best friend. Comedy Bang BangHosted by Scott Aukerman, the premise of the show is simple: Scott interviews celebrities, musicians and comedians. Another comedian or performer comes in after the initial interview and pretends to be someone else – sometimes a famous actor, but often a character from a television show, or sometimes a brand new original character. The featured guest is Park & Rec's Nick Offerman, who is interrupted by a whiny, pissy Paul Giamatti…voiced to perfection by James Adomian. A Mediocre Time with Tom & DanThis show was one of the six podcasts nominated for Best Comedy Podcast for the recent Stitcher Awards. The winner was Comedy Bang Bang, but it must mean something that Tom and Dan got in there. They’ve got a subscription model show and a free version and they do their show out of Orlando, Florida. In this clip, they ruminate about Salem witch trials, a hot new restaurant idea, and they also talk about making it big in Nashville with one of their songs. Adam & JPGot a note AND a clip in the Tweetsack this week from the Adam & JP podcast: “Hey Marc, I just recently found your show and I love it. Really great work! In advance, thanks for giving us a shout out. Basically, we talk all things geek (gaming, comics, movies, music, pop culture) with a comedic slant. We host a two hour radio show on a local station every Saturday morning and do a weekly podcast. I have attached a clip from our latest episode, in case you wanted to use it. Thanks again and we would love to chat with you on the show sometime to discuss your show." J Patrick Pretty funny stuff, guys! That's a pretty full show! Almost TWO hours of Succotash! Enjoy it, savor it, and please remember to pass the Succotash along, too! — Marc Hershon
This 2nd episode of 'Chats (for you)' features a chat with the comedian, Michael Legge. Twitter: twitter.com/chatsforyou. For more info, visit imminentjoy.com.
RHEFP 2013 #10: Michael Legge, David O'Doherty and Felicity Ward - Orangeman's Day. Richard is a bit frazzled and confused as the daily grind of two shows a day starts to take its toll, but a podcast full of comedy talent will revive him. Plus he's just seen Clare Grogan in the street. Michael Legge is back as a last minute replacement for a jet-lagged Bo Burnham (he'll be on the show on Tuesday), chosen as the comedian who is most similar to the YouTube sensation and not because he was the only comic on Twitter at 9 this morning. He has more stories of being mistaken for the other Michael Legge (from Angela's Ashes), confused women in train stations and his love for Mrs Brown's Boys. Then there's five minutes stand-up from the brilliant Mary Poppins hating Felicity Ward, before David O'Doherty arrives to tell us about his stolen bike wheel, what happens when you try to cash a giant novelty cheque and how he's managed to create 12 Fringe shows in as many years, which should shut Rich up for a bit. With added feedback to annoy the audiophiles and help pinpoint them to the police when they complain. Plus a profound and beautiful song about life. A right cracker in fact.

2012 #19: OMO Sexual - Michael Legge and Jarlath Regan. Richard has a bit more of a spring in his step than he's had for a few days and he's been given a t-shirt by one his potential stalker killers - it's nice that they can give as well as take - and he's enjoying his most recent iTunes review. He's joined by Michael Legge, a man who eschews honey, but is less discriminating about what fluids can go in and on to animals. You will find out if he believes in ghosts, how Twitter lost him two ticket sales, his appeal to the Dutch and how much it is still smarting for him that he wasn't thanked at the end of last year's podcast. Richard is trying to solve the Irish Question (but making things a bit worse) and upsetting bus drivers and Scottish people and generally making a nuisance of himself, which suggests that he's on the mend. Stand-up from Jarlath Regan.
David and Danielle have been to see the 'Hunger Games' and comedian and all round angry fellow, Michael Legge waxes lyrical about 'Belleville Rendez-Vous'
Here it is, almost live from The Stand comedy club in Edinburgh. The very first RHEFP (rhefp), a daily podcast keeping you up to date with all the Fringe gossip and hot and not shows. Plus loads of stupid banter with a top comedy guest (or in this case Michael 'Nerrin' Legge). It's the first try so sorry if the sound is a bit uneven - we tried to record it with the Tascam but some audience interaction sent that smashing to the floor and so this is the version recorded through the desk, and I think Michael might have forgotten to speak into his microphone. Because he is a dick. Or the balance might have been off. But let's blame Michael. We talk about foam pies and pizzas in eyes and Twitter threats, as well as finding out which made-up shows the audience have already seen. There's stand-up from Catie Wilkins and a competition in which you will find out Rasputin's phone number and who Michael may or may not be cat-sitting for. Plus tales of Hunter from Gladiators and being wanked off by a ventriloquist dummy (not the same story). And someone won 50 in cash.
PILOT: This is the 'Do The Right Thing' pilot episode recorded back in April 2011. It is so rough-and-ready that we forgot to introduce any of the teams - hence Producer Ben chips in at the start with a stultifyingly unfunny but mercilessly brief factual introduction. After that we get onto the serious business of plummeting lifts, punching piranhas and penis extensions. Alongside regulars Danielle Ward, Michael Legge and Margaret Cabourn-Smith, the pilot features comedy writer and performer Dan Maier and musician, author and renaissance man Jimbob from Carter the Unstoppable Sex Machine. On the eve of our final Los Quattros Cvnts show (til September) we gather together with Michael Legge in a pub like the cvnts we are and bang on about cvnty stuff. And Michael forgets that Frank Carson is the celebrity he spotted. Michael! It was Frank Carson!
It’s an odd one this week. The first half is another OB, this time in a Starbucks in London’s lovely London. We briefly mourn the passing of Pik before falling back into our usual barrel of bullshit. It’s what she would have wanted. The second half takes place many months ago: having watched Doctor Who’s Waters Of Mars episode and got rather pissed, the three of us and Michael Legge decided it would be fun to watch some celebrated disgusting internet shock videos and record our reactions. It’s basically a lot of shouting. We weren’t going to bother putting it up but in the absence of an Event Horizon Crescent and to make up for the vast gap between sodcasts, we thought it was time to inflict the fucking thing on you lot. Sorry.
To celebrate and publicise our upcoming Los Quattros Cvnts shows at the Phoenix in London on 17th and 18th November, we are joined for a one off special sodcast by Michael Legge, star of the Precious Little podcast and 4th cvnt.As it’s not a proper sodcast, we don’t cover the comments or the poll, but we couldn’t pass up the chance to go through some hates with someone so filled with fury as Michael. So sit back, relax and let this particular bunch of cvnts fill your ears with their shit.
