She also thought that Batman can, apparently, talk to bats. Then came The Dark Knight. Doug prepped her on the Joker's philosophy, the importance of Batman's no-kill rule, and the practical effects behind the hospital explosion, which Doug and Jill actually witnessed being filmed when they lived downtown Chicago. Natalie handled the pencil scene with more composure than expected. She processed the ferry sequence. She understood the stakes, and spent the entire climax waiting for Bane to show up. And when it was over, she looked at her dad and said: "I see why you like it." Ten years. Worth every second. "Fackham Hall" is a period parody comedy film set in 1930s England that crosses "Downton Abbey" with "Airplane!" and "Monty Python." It is directed by Jim O'Hanlon and written by comedian Jimmy Carr (in his screenwriting feature debut) with Patrick Carr and The Dawson Brothers. It stars Damian Lewis, Thomasin McKenzie, Ben Radcliffe, Katherine Waterston, Tom Felton, and Jimmy Carr. It follows loveable pick-pocket Eric Noone (Radcliffe) as he lands a job at a unique English manor house. He quickly rises through the ranks, and a forbidden romance with the lady of the house, Rose Davenport (McKenzie), blossoms. But when an unexpected murder occurs, Eric gets framed - leaving Rose and her family's future perilously uncertain. McKenzie, Radcliffe and O'Hanlon were all kind enough to spend some time talking with us about their experiences making the film, which you can listen to below. There's refined British comedy, and then there's “Fackham Hall,” a movie that waltzes in wearing period-accurate garb on the outside and immediately trips over the furniture. It's the kind of delightfully silly romp where aristocrats brood, servants scramble, romance simmers, relatives wed, and the background is working twice as hard as the actors to steal every scene, like “Downton Abbey” politely offering you tea while “Airplane” swaps the sugar for gunpowder. Set between the wars, the film follows starry-eyed servant Eric and rebellious aristocrat Rose as their forbidden attraction detonates inside a household already teetering on the edge of absurdity. "Orwell: 2+2=5" is a documentary film, directed and produced by Raoul Peck. It follows the life and career of George Orwell, examining how his political observations remain relevant in the present day, particularly the lessons from his novel "Nineteen Eighty-Four." Damian Lewis narrates the film as Orwell. The film premiered at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival in the Cannes Premiere section, where it received positive reviews and was nominated for the L'Œil d'Or. Acting great Damian Lewis stopped by to chat about his vampiric new film, the Radleys, as well as shedding light on his return as King Henry 8th in the much anticipated new series of Wolf Hall.

Damian Lewis grew up in North London and, after a spell in boarding school, returned to the city to study acting at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. He began his career with the Royal Shakespeare Company before transitioning to television. Damian's breakout role came in Band of Brothers, which was the most expensive TV show of all-time, in 2001. His portrayal of Nicholas Brody in Homeland earned him both an Emmy Award and a Golden Globe. His latest film, The Radleys, is adapted from a book by Matt Haig and tells the story of a family of vampires. Nick mixes an Old-Fashioned for Damian while Angela prepares caponata bruschetta to start, followed by hearty pumpkin risotto, inspired by a butternut squash recipe by Martha Collison. The experts at Waitrose pair this with a Gabriel Meffre Côte du Rhône. Damian Lewis is the perfect dinner-guest; he arrives hungry and armed with excellent anecdotes.
