In 1970 Avon Books published a landmark anthology “Science Fiction Hall of Fame” featuring 16 classic short stories that represent landmark tales of the genre. The stories were voted on by the members of the new (at the time in the late 60s) organization Science Fiction Writers of America. In this series, I will be joined by a panel of different guests to break down these stories and talk about the authors in the book. In this episode, I am joined by two experts on Philip K Dick. Wait a second I thought this episode was about AE Van Vogt. It is.. but the Canadian Golden Age author was a massive influence on PKD, so I was interested in introducing two Dickheads to Van Vogt. So joining me is the Total Dickhead blogger – Professor David Gill and author/publisher/editor Keith Giles of Quior Books. The story we are covering is the 1942 classic “The Weapons Shop” by AE Van Vogt. This story appeared in the December 1942 issue of Astounding… Read it here: https://archive.org/details/Astounding_v30n04_1942-12_dtsg0318/page/n7/mode/2up •You can find my books here: Amazon-https://www.amazon.com/David-Agranoff/e/B004FGT4ZW
There is allot of talk about defining personal resilience and what it is and what it's not, and it's not often someone shares their own story of resilience. I'm joined by David Gill who does just that. Throughout his journey of resilience he has experienced rewarding moments and massive setbacks (some quite scary), but his enthusiasm and dedication to 'service above' self' will keep you listening to some incredible stories. Don't miss what David has to shares about what he's learned over the years and why he's so upbeat about life - you'll be better for it. Enjoy!

Germline and somatic testing for in prostate cancer can improve outcomes and promote early detection and prevention, yet many patients are not aware of testing and the impact it can have on treatment options. In this episode, CANCER BUZZ speaks with David Gill, MD, medical oncologist at Intermountain Healthcare's Intermountain Cancer Center and Lindsey Byrne, MS, LCGC, licensed certified genetic counselor at The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center, who discuss how genetic counselors and increased patient education can help cancer programs close the practice gap and promote guideline-concordant testing among patients diagnosed with prostate cancer. “I'd really advocate—even in your patients with a negative NGS panel—please still consider getting germline testing in those patients.” –David Gill, MD “We know that individuals, yes, they're dealing with a diagnosis of cancer, but the first thing people say to me when I sit down with them is, ‘All right, I have this figured out, but what does this mean for my family?' They're really worried about their family, and that's where our focus is, to help take care of that.”—Lindsey Byrne, MS, LCGC David Gill, MD Medical Oncologist Intermountain Healthcare - Intermountain Cancer Center Salt Lake City, Utah Lindsey Byrne, MS, LCGC Licensed Certified Genetic Counselor The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center – The James Columbus, Ohio This episode was developed in connection with the ACCC education program Germline and Somatic Testing for Mutations to Optimize Outcomes in Metastatic Prostate Cancer and is supported by AstraZeneca, Johnson & Johnson, and Pfizer.

The Long Shadow of Default The sovereign debt literature has somehow managed to overlook one of the biggest, most enduring debt defaults on record, involving one of the world's richest democracies. We're talking about the United Kingdom's failure to pay its First World War debts owed to the United States. We talk with David Gill (University of Nottingham) about his wonderful new book, The Long Shadow of Default (Yale University Press), which focuses on the origins and consequences of this largely overlooked episode. We talk about the consequences of default for the U.K. in financial markets (basically none), the consequences for diplomatic relations between the U.K. and U.S. (much more significant), and on how this episode shapes national policies regarding sovereign debt to this day. Producer: Leanna Doty
This is Part 1 of a special podcast series called "Kingdom Strategies: Old Tactics For New Victories." This series focuses on the letters of Jesus to the 7 Churches of Revelation. Each letter provides principles for the church to overcome issues within and problems without. Tim W. and David Gill take a look at the letter to Ephesus. This church was a loveless ultra-conservative church that was strong morally, and fervent with their orthodoxy, but they lost their first love. Jesus said to them and to us, “Remember how you used to love, repent, and redo your first works. Love passionately again.” Revelation Commentary by Bishop Walls Follow Kingdom Link Podcast on Facebook Follow TWG Ministries on Facebook Listen to the full lesson taught at MPC - Ephesus

It's been a bit of a ride since starting with Voltage. In this episode, our guest is David Le Blanc, a Voltage member who started with Amazon in 2018. For the first year, to a year and a half, he tried to figure out the right product & what niche he should go into.
