Dazza Greenwood, a technologist turned lawyer, discusses the transformative potential of generative AI, particularly in the legal field. Greenwood's background includes public sector work, law practice focused on technology, and current work assisting companies and governments with technology rollouts, especially where legal or regulatory constraints exist. He also maintains a research affiliation with MIT, focusing on the “over the horizon” implications of technology. Greenwood expresses excitement about the current generation of AI, emphasizing its ability to handle nuanced, qualitative tasks previously beyond technological reach. For Greenwood, generative AI bridges his dual interests in technology and law. Greenwood highlights the shift from traditional AI to generative AI, which he believes is revolutionizing how computers perform cognitive tasks. He draws parallels between how humans acquire language and how LLMs comprehend unstructured data. He also discusses the emergence of “agentic AI,” where AI is wrapped in applications to perform complex tasks, and how it can revolutionize law firms. Greenwood believes firms that effectively integrate these multi-agent systems will gain significant advantages in cost structure, quality, and speed, ultimately changing the landscape of legal services. He encourages lawyers to experiment with AI tools and explore new business models to remain competitive in this evolving field. __________________________Learn about Dazza Greenwood.Check out my other show, the Law for Kids Podcast.Get Connected with SixFifty, a business and employment legal document automation tool.Sign up for Gavel, an automation platform for law firms.Visit Law Subscribed to subscribe to the Substack newsletter to get notified about every episode, listen from your web browser, and for additional content.Follow @lawsubscribed everywhere.Sign up for the Subscription Seminar waitlist at subscriptionseminar.com.Check out Mathew Kerbis' law firm Subscription Attorney LLC. In this episode, I sit with comedian (and world's most iconic forklift driver) Frankie Fearce (she/they). CW: I am so very grateful for the honesty that Frankie shared her story with. Some listeners may want a heads-up that they talk about religious trauma and suicide in this episode. As always, LGBTQIA+ resources are linked below. We discuss Frankie's satirical character comedy show DAZZA, making a conscious effort to live in Queer community, experimenting with labels until we find the right fit for us, homecoming moments on dancefloors, unlearning who we have been told we are, moments that made us stop caring what others thought and knowing who we are is not a choice but fully and unapologetically embracing who we are is.
This week we have a catch up with moderator and all round good guy, Jesse Thomas. A surprise co host pops in to talk about the weekend away for Whitemark Wharf parkrun. Simon goes to another Birthday celebration, at Minnippi parkrun. Budgie's plans are changed. Two parkrunners break Australian records in longer events. There's a new first, with ANZ Pioneer achieved. Roving reports from Callum at Wendover Woods, Lyndell at Underwood Park and Em from Whitemark Wharf. Reginald checks in with regards to cancellations. Dazza had some creative Mo's and NZ adds yet another new parkrun.
Can't bat, can't bowl but can sledge and with that show mantra, Kev, Finey and S J Peak give their views on the major stories of the week (some stories may appear bigger than they actually are). The 3XY chart this week is just that - WEAK like the Australian batting line up and both cop their rightful whack. No prisoners here, everyone is fair game, from Marnus to Ding Dong, Smudge to Dazza it's shame on. Finally, Finey's been doing some sticker spotting and does not like what he sees. It's part 2 of 3! Well, if we stay on track. This one is about following the money! Spoiler alert - a lot of it came from the estate of dead rich white men whose nepo baby children have decided to perpetuate their parents shitty ideology and pretend that they deserve to be billionaires becuause 'the free market works'. Tax the rich. Enjoy! -------------------------------------------------------------Also, of course cbco.beer has CRP10 as a promo code still - 10% - and they have free shipping so go buy some beers.Get on The Dirt Unit wherever you get your podcasts. But also - just go here https://podcasts.apple.com/au/podcast/the-dirt-unit/id1701913743Brendan has an excellent project called 'earseed' and his new album 'revelations' is on all the usual streaming places. The video for the song 'Come To My Place' is really really funny and has tickled the pickle of Dazza and Penny actually liked it. Excellent. Here's the video:https://fb.watch/sfZIjwNRYC/Anything we promised would be in the show notes is probably not going to happen but feel free to hassle Brendan about anything you want in the shitposting group!
The Olympics are over but that hasn't meant the end of the excitement. Mel and TOC marvel at Carolyn's effort at The Clint Eastwood Backyard Ultra, while Mel finally ventured to The Ponds for some City2Surf fronding. TOC enjoyed inland adventures at McLeans Beach, Janet brought us a Singapore double at Bishan & East Coast Park Parkrun, and Calum celebrated at Lancaster with the ‘TV'. Also, all the bolts in Dazza's, Club Corner, Streaky Septmeber discussion and a little announcement on PALM.
Toc and Mel wear their hearts on their sleeves this week, touching on some important topics. To lighten the tone we also have roving reports from Lyndell at Logan River, Alison at Queens Park, Belfast, and a new voice from the UK Ruth – bringing us a report from Gunpowder parkrun. Dazza has the week off but there is more discussion about bridges and plans are forming for the Adventurer baton. Tune in…
What do you do when you hit the doldrums? When inspiration dies? When everything just sucks??? That is what has afflicted both Darren and myself over the last few months. There are things you can do. Most importantly, we are here to listen to you. Post your worries in the group. There are literally thousands of wonderful people here who are more than willing to help you up. Another question I posed to Dazza was, "Should our expectations of perfection rise the more expensive a CBG is?" Shane Speal released a fantastic video about CBG expectations a few years ago https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yllHolhWn14&t=413s He's talking about the imperfections that make these instruments so perfect in our eyes. However add large sums of money to the equation and the expectation may be that they are expected to sound and feel more like a traditional instrument. Thoughts please?! Thanks again to my friend Darren for joining me on this CBG extravaganza. You can see what I have been up to on the Facebook group and at www.birdwoodguitars.com Thank you for supporting the show and an enormous THANK YOU to Ben 'Gitty' Baker, Shane Speal and the team at C.B.Gitty for supporting the podcast. It's a fast one this week as TOC joins Mel to discuss all things Speedweek at Sandgate parkrun. We discuss parkrun's global expansion plans, and, speaking of fast, Liam Adams gets a call up to Paris. Dazza hears from a lot of people, PK visits Nuriootpa, Lyndell is on the South Bank and Johan checks in from Emerald Resort. Rachel logs in, and the UK reigns supreme again.
Sarah joins Simon on Level 2 with a view to go over her trip to Ridley Place Foreshore and his return to Sirromet. They spoke double Dutch on Whit Monday, were Franc about their feelings about French parkruns and caught up on Tim Franklin's whereabouts. There was also some late mail received all the way from the Netherlands and they checked in on Dazza. There were launches, The Birthday Boy and roving reports from Lyndell at Glasshouse Mountains Conservation parkrun, Alison at Tokoinranta, David at Ridley Place Foreshore and Mel dropped in from Armidale.
This is part one of - uh - lots? At the core of this episode is a well planned script. The other 2 hours is mostly waffle between two cooked brains. Add to that the sustained consumption of alcohol and you got yourself an episode. The Atlas Network is an umbrella organisation that helps create, sustain and propel libertarian thinktanks into media and modern meme culture. Its roots extend into the early 20th century and feature some predictable names such as Milton Friedman and Tony Abbott. What fun guys! Brendan has done a deep dive into this with a script that spans across about 44 pages. In this episode, I think we got through about 12 of them. It was a good fun record and I regret nothing. Although next time we record, I might try not to start half cut. That might help. Enjoy! Also, of course cbco.beer has CRP10 as a promo code still - 10% - and they have free shipping so go buy some beers. Brendan has an excellent project called 'earseed' and his new album 'revelations' is on all the usual streaming places. The video for the song 'Come To My Place' is really really funny and has tickled the pickle of Dazza and Penny actually liked it. Excellent. It's a blue moon pod – which means Olly is back to join Mel at Level 2 and bring us up to date on Disney princesses, Welsh launches and sailing. If that isn't exciting enough – TOC slips in the back door to chat to Run the World creator, Travis Ireland, giving insight into how the innovative platform was created and his journey to find love for parkrun. Rachel dips her toes in the water, Dazza goes bat crazy, and Tassie seems to be the place to be. Tune in…
Welcome back to another episode of the world's numkber one, most favorite CBG podcast!! Darren and I are joining you today to chat about all the interesting things that are happening in the group. New builds, new members and some incredible group contributions. Adam gets super excited about the proper place to put piezo pickups and proves his point with a really cruddy demonstration with a beaten up, 8 year old, rusty CBG. Only the best content ladies and gentlemen. Darren shows his sensitive side by explaining his grandson's latest saying, which is, "Don't bite your friends". Thank you for supporting the show and an enormous THANK YOU to Ben 'Gitty' Baker and the team at CBGitty for supporting the podcast. If you need to order parts and want to support the show, you can by using our affiliate link https://www.cbgitty.com/?ref=birdwood and if you use the promo code BIRDWOOD you can receive 10% off the price of your first 3 orders with CBGitty.
