A story about survival, grenades, jean shorts, and abs. Listen in as me and my guest and fellow podcaster, Cam, zip up our jorts, sharpen our boobytrap spikes, and hunt down this film's sauce rating. Written and directed by David A. Prior (Deadliest Prey, Killzone, Jungle Assault), TV Guide called the film "a wretched Rambo ripoff," while Morning Movie Review said "Holy cow[, t]his movie is a good time." Welp, if that ain't a ringing endorsement, I dunno what is. It tells the story of Mike Danton (play by March 1984 Playgirl Man of the Month Ted Prior) who get's kidnapped by a band of mercenaries who "train" for some oblique mission by hunting civilians running for their lives. The leader of these mercs is Colonel John Hogan (played by David Campbell) who himself is at the mercy of a suited mystery man named Michaelson (played by veteran actor Troy Donahue). These mercs are training for a mission that is never explained and they all seem to be rather incompetent. Their general lack of ability will be their death knell when Danton gets free and starts picking them off one-by-one. There are oodles of shitty explosions, excessive gun cocking, and consistently bad hand-to-hand combat techniques. This movie is a rollicking good time in the trash cinema genre! The film is currently available on Amazon Prime. Check out Cam's podcast, it's a fun time! https://linktr.ee/JURSPodcast (Jacked Up Review Show Podcast)

WWIII is averted by sending two men to do single combat - one who just got beat up and another who is one mean gardener. It's about as dumb of a movie as ever been created and now we gift it to you. While The Final Sanction has some flash in the pan moments that have similarities to the masterpiece Deadly Prey it's a film that suffers from being dreadfully slow. Everything takes way too long - think Birdemic. Sadly, it misses its chance to be an instant stinker classic (because it's so stupid) and falls into the it's just ok category. It also needs disclaimed that if you want to have any clue what's going on, then you'd best be able to speak William Smith, who delivers most of the exposition in a horrendous Russian accent stacked ontop his usual gravel voice. So expect to have no idea what is happening. Eventually, you'll piece things together and realize how unbelievably unthoughtout this plot is. While it's a bit of a chore in places (due to the pacing), this is still a do if you've never seen it. It's absolutely one of the dumbest movie we've reviewed. Put some usual Ted Prior business, Z'Dar's chin, freezeframe credits, and assorted nonsense along the way and it's still a David A. Prior movie. Enjoy with riffers!

C'mon, don't spoil the surprise by actually reading the episode description for once. This is where I need to type the metadata so five people will download this episode and keep me from the creeping inevitability of financial destitution. This week we are reviewing The Pest (1997), starring John Leguizamo (Spawn, Land of the Dead, To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar). We rank this film amongst Leguizamo's other works , such as Super Mario Bros. We also go into his acting development and the method he used in voicing Sid the Sloth in the Ice Age franchise. Leguizamo's character unwittingly signs up to be in a manhunt over $50,000. He is in dire need of quick cash to pay off the Scottish Mafia after a failed scam. He is hunted by co-star, Jeffrey Jones (Beetlejuice, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Sleepy Hollow). We talk about him and all of his criminal woes. In short, he is not the coolest guy ever. We also talk the differences between MadTV, which Aries Spears, who plays Chubby was on, to Saturday Night Live, which director, Paul Miller, worked on for several seasons. Miller and writer, David Bar Katz, both have cameos in the film. Can you spot them? This film is a retelling of Richard Connell's The Most Dangerous Game. The film has remarkably poor reviews online, in print, and is probably the sole reason that we have not been contacted by alien beings. The film has some heavy-handed racial humor, which is not for the faint of heart. For those seeking highbrow entertainment, fear not-- there are plenty of fart and vomit jokes too. The short story has been adapted many times for the silver screen and we compare this film to its contemporaries: The Most Dangerous Game (1932), A Game of Death (1945), Run for the Sun (1956), Bloodlust! (1961), The Suckers (1972), The Woman Hunt (1972), Maneater (1973), Turkey Shoot (1982), Slave Girls from Beyond Infinity (1987), Deadly Prey (1987), Lethal Woman (1988), Deadly Game (1991), Hard Target (1993), Surviving the Game (1994), Mindhunters (2004), Red: Werewolf Hunter (2010), Hounds of Zaroff (2016) The Purge (2013), and The Hunt (2020). We also briefly touch on the new film adaptation coming out featuring Liam Hemsworth and Christoph Waltz. We also talk about true crime parallels with Robert Hansen and The Zodiac Killer. Jake does a partial spoken word rendition of Voodoo Mambo, possibly the most shockingly terrible song I've ever heard.
