The Electronics Entertainment Expo was finally taken off life support earlier this week, its epitaph being a brief statement reading, “After more than two decades of E3, each one bigger than the last, the time has come to say goodbye. Thanks for the memories.” It was a long time coming. Although no one who has been paying any attention can say they're surprised by this news, for gamers of the '90s and '00s, it still hits hard. We discuss the death of E3, what could have been, and reminisce about our favorite E3 moments. We'll also be talking about how developer Fntastic is closing its doors just four days after the ugly launch of The Day Before on Steam, how Twitch now allows ‘artistic depictions of nudity' in update to sexual content policy, and how Valve is asking Steam Deck owners to not to smell the handheld's vent fumes. Finally, class is in session with Professor Ryebread in our Gaming History 101 segment. In this episode, we're looking at the Atari 2700.We love our sponsors! Amidst the many cancelations of 2020, one has left the video game world feeling a little more empty. The cancelation of the Electronics Entertainment Expo, E3, has left the various video game publishers scrambling to figure out how to announce their newest slate of games as well as Microsoft and Sony's new consoles. While many questions are still unanswered, Sony has recently unveiled the Playstation 5 and the first two dozen or so games for it. Ian and Justin give you their play by play of these announcements and which games they are most excited for. Returning franchises and intriguing new IPs are discussed, and the immediacy of memes is explored.

The Electronics Entertainment Expo is one of the biggest events in gaming and tech every year. This year was no different, as hordes of publishers and developers showcased their wares and trailers, taking the hype train off the rails for a gnarly crescendo. But what was it like on the ground floor? In this BONUS CAST, Matt from Oculus joins West Coast Avenger Gregg to talk about what it was like at E3 2018 -- the vibes, the swag, and what's new and exciting in the world of VR Gaming. CHECK IT. Another temporary hiatus for Chris means a return to a revolving door of guest co-hosts new and old for John to geek out with. Generation Animation's own Felipe Diaz-Vera returns for a gargantuan talk regarding a recent movie, a recent video game expo, and an entire genre of games we both enjoy....But because neither of us had a time we needed to sign off and it's been a month since the last episode, John chose to do another two-parter so we can have new content for you patient listeners sooner. So our rhythm game retrospective will have to wait. We start things out by discussing Chris's status and some personal projects, then John gives his thoughts on the Pixar sequel he's long desired above all others (Spoiler free since it only just came out and Felipe hadn't seen it during this recording), and then we dive into our personal highlights of this year's Electronics Entertainment Expo. From Star Wolf possibly being bi to everyone getting Norted, there's a healthy amount of opinions, speculation, and excitement, but honestly, all that really matters is that METAL WOLF IS COMING HOME, AND WILL BE UPHOLDING TRUE AMERICAN JUSTICE. And yes, Felipe followed through on his promise of making this episode's majestic thumbnail. Timestamps: 12:56 - Incredibles 2 spoiler-free review 30:18 - Spider-Man PS4 36:42 - Super Smash Bros. This year's Electronics Entertainment Expo has come and gone, and we tackle our biggest takeaways from it. John loses his mind over Super Mario Odyssey in a good way, but Hell hath no fury like a Rabbids-fatigued Chris. We also talk upcoming fighting games on the opposite side of the visual quality spectrum, Dad of War, and AwesomeCon. But since this is unlucky episode number 13, John unleashes a true disaster movie to unpack with Chris, as we dissect the cinematic disaster that is 1993's live-action Super Mario Bros. movie. Discussions include why the film fails both as an adaptation and a standalone piece, what elements of its aesthetics and imagination deserve legitimate credit, and the best way Hollywood could go about doing a possible second attempt at bringing Mario Mario to the big screen again. Strap on your belts, get your plumbing tools, trust the fungus, and do your best John Leguizamo impression - this is a crazy one. In the final episode leading into E3 we talk about Jess' time so far with the new Fallout 4 DLC, Far Harbor. Next up was Jonathan's early impressions of Dark Souls 3, which he seems to enjoy quite a bit more than Gabe. Garett has been playing The Witcher 3, which led us to some of life's most important questions, such as: Why is Geralt of Rivera such a selfish asshole? Gabe played Picross 3D, Animal Crossing: New Leaf, Bravely Default (and how broken it is), Until Dawn, and Uncharted 4. After that, the main event! We make our best guesses at what awaits us at E3 2016, along with some of our more outlandish hopes. Join us as we talk about past E3 disasters and rumors that Sucker Punch is developing a PS4 exclusive Spiderman game, and then barely escape Jonathan's terrible Yves Guillemot impression.

Like a rocket from the crypt, it's episode 136 of Connectivity! We are in the final count down to the 2014 Electronics Entertainment Expo, or "E3" as the kids call it. Seeing as no real news is ever released at this time of year, we're going to give you pseudo-baseless speculation! We've got some fresh off the dome predictions on what's going to happen with the Nintendo Figurine Platform, Super Smash Bros for Wii U and 3DS, the next entry into the Legend of Zelda series, the new mystery 3DS game, Yarn Yoshi, Metroid, and more! And if you're into that Nontendo thing, we have a brief segment from Alex about Watch_Dogs. Maybe the Wii U version will eventually be released... maybe not. Speaking of E3, with the big show on the horizon, now is the perfect time to submit us your questions and comments to connectivity@nintendoworldreport.com. We'd also really appreciate it if you would take the time to rate and review our show on iTunes.
The Electronics Entertainment Expo just wrapped up in L.A. and there is a lot of video game news to talk about. Chad and Chris wanted to take a little longer than a "Jump Cut" segment would allow, so... here is our first ever Bonus Episode! Enjoy.
