The 25th anniversary? Whatever. Clueless (1995) was Diana's pick before she checked the calendar. She originally wanted to gush about baby Paul Rudd but more time is spent talking about Cher's awesome relationship with her dad Mel. Naturally, the Emma comparisons are rampant. Shallow, rich and socially successful Cher (Alicia Silverstone) is at the top of her Beverly Hills high school's pecking scale. Hello, Lovelies! What happens when you cross true crime, cats, and science? Rebecca's purrfect episode! This week Rebecca tells us about the cases of Shirley Ann Duguay (from Canada) and David Guy (from the UK... their locations are important) and how some hair-raising evidence convicted their murderers. Pour some tea and join us this week as the puns can't pawsibly get worse. This week's drink break is brought to you by Fataliteas! Fataliteas is a podcast where host, Alysa Lucas, explores true crime cases over tea with the help of her friends because without tea, friends, and good conversation, there is nothing but darkness and chaos. E67 – Hop on the 2020 sister train and follow our thoughts as we talk through Mouse’s suburban optimism and Weens’ city pessimism, while discussing traffic, Mr. Rogers, true crime, and the homeless. Our eyes were opened by Julianne’s interview with a Los Angeles Police Department officer, who had a lot of information and thoughtful perspectives on the homeless problem in LA and the day to day issues that the LAPD deals with. Then we have some parenting discussions about Mouse’s boys about male role models, teasing and gender jokes, internet safety, and sexual health. Fun fact: did you know Joelle was a sex educator in college and was on the news talking about HPV? Now, don’t be fooled by the heavy topics. This episode is laden with ridiculousness and funny stories. Look out for brisk red sweaters, bearded ice skaters, drunk tarot card readers, caped rollerskaters in g-strings, condom banana totems, and a guy named Rare. Hey! We are so excited to share our panel on Women in True Crime with you, recorded in Chicago during our trip over for the True Crime Podcast Festival. Our wonderful guests joined us for a truly fascinating discussion. We covered our thoughts on why women are the largest consumers of true crime, why the victim hood we cover is largely female and our guests feelings on the notion of 'glorifying' the subject matter and their responsibility towards the victims and survivors in the cases we cover. Massive thanks go to Kate, Alysa and Justin for being panellists, the audience for joining us and our listeners for sending us their questions. Also thanks to the Arrogant Frog for hosting us and sorting us out drinks! Appreciated. Thanks all, we hope you enjoy!Notes from this weeks episode:Kate's (Ignorance Was Bliss) bio: Kate has spent her entire professional life in the fields of mental health and criminal justice with a focus specifically in the fields of correctional psychology, forensic psychology, and crisis assessment. On this episode, Alysa from Fataliteas and Best Forevers Podcasts guest co-hosts to discuss the cold case of the Sioux City 3. On the morning of December 3, 1974 a mother and a neighbor drove to her son's home in Sioux City Iowa. It was the second day her son and his roommate hadn't shown up to work; which was unusual. As she entered through the door- she was greeted with a gruesome scene of 3 young adults murdered.
