Then, get ready to discuss the correct pronunciation of “espresso,” the unspoken meaning of “likes,” the one that got away, Venmoing friends after dinner, staying friends with your ex, and period sex. You'll also hear their thoughts on the smaller details of life, including toe socks, unscented candles, Shrek, astrology, and of course, toilet paper. Lawrence (aka Law) joins as a guest again and the crew jumps right into a discussion about how each feels about period sex and the methods they each use when having period sex. Talk turns to shower sex and the best positions to use – or not use – when getting busy in the shower. Law shares an experience that led to him to getting slapped by a woman. The group dives into a game of Would You Rather and have to decide on whether they want their brother or best friend to father their child; want their lover to think about them while having sex with someone else or be with them while thinking about someone else; if they prefer to be tall and handsome with a small dick or short and unattractive with a huge dick; and if they would prefer to give up masturbation altogether or be forced to do it five times per day. The discussion then turns to relationship inequalities – in sex drive, work-life balance, income, ambition, and even height – and whether those inequalities can be overcome to the point of having a fulfilling relationship despite those differences. Do you have a great period sex story? How did you answer the Would You Rather questions? Let us know and your comments may end up on the podcast! Sex during periods. Is this a hard no or a reason for you to get creative with your partner? The subject of period sex is still very much taboo, even though it is 100% safe. Today my goal is to educate and let you know that it's ok to have sex during periods. You might even find you and your partner enjoy it! A fun fact, sometimes sex during your time of the month can actually make you feel BETTER. But if you know that period sex isn't for you, that doesn't mean the passion in your relationship has to take a backseat. Periods can make women more horny, so put that energy to good use! Use this time to get creative, send naughty texts, sexy photos or even leave a steamy voicemail to keep the spark alive! We have to be willing to put in the effort and make these uncomfortable conversations more common, it's the only way for us to fully understand how our partner feels. It's ok to be unsure about it at first, but that's why it's so important to talk it out. Plus communication is the gateway to adventurous and amazing sex! “One thing to remember is exposure is critical, the more we're exposed to something the more comfortable we become." - Sarrah Rose In This Episode: Sex on your period can actually make you feel BETTER. The increase in testosterone right before the period begins can make women more horny. Communication is key! Make sure you're both comfortable before engaging in period sex. And, so much more! And we almost didn't release this episode. Given the stigma and epic amount of shame and trauma around periods, it's no wonder that this can lead to insecurities and awkwardness when it comes to having sex on your (or your partner's) period. In this episode, we attempt period sex for the first time in a long time (because last time didn't go as planned) and discuss why people have period sex, what the issues are, and how we can help people with this part of life. And yes, things get messy. But since there's no sexual blueprint that dictates what makes sex successful or right or good, we continue to show up for each other despite the awkwardness, energetic disconnect, and “womb robbery.” So, whether you or your partner are a bleeding human, grab your headset, tune in, and get ready for some learning moments when it comes to having sex on your period (or knowing when not to). It's been ages since we last had sex during Lacey's period. We're very period conscious and make it a point to operate around the phases of Lacey's menstrual cycle, respecting the winter state of rest. But today, Lacey's up for period sex. We've both felt sexually disconnected lately, so we're approaching this as a great opportunity for us to reconnect with each other. In this session, we're taking the opportunity to show you what it looks like to show up for sex during menstruation, to make space for & allow a change of direction to happen, and to use sex to further yours & your partner's healing. By the end, our goal is to show you what can happen when you release the expectation of what something should look like and simply allow space for what is. Grab your headset, tune in, and get ready to talk about periods, homemade pads, & experience communicating your truth to elevate your sex session. Get all the juicy episode notes at https://laceyandflynn.com/podcast/14-period-sex Learn more about Sex Elevated, our online course to amplify your intimacy, supercharge your sex, and slingshot you into a new dimension of pleasure, connection, and love in your relationship.
