Melissa Errico is a Tony-nominated actress, singer, recording artist, and writer. She is known for her iconic Broadway musical roles such as Eliza Doolittle in My Fair Lady and the title role in One Touch of Venus. She is also recognized from her roles on TV series such as Billions, The Jim Gaffigan Show, Blue Bloods, The Good Wife, Law & Order, A Gifted Man, Ed, and Miss Match opposite Alicia Silverstone. Her 2018 album “Sondheim Sublime” was described by the Wall Street Journal as “the best all-Sondheim album ever recorded”. In a review for her 2024 album “Sondheim in the City”, the New York Times described Errio as “one of Sondheim's deepest-hearted yet lightest-touch interpreters.” Errico’s interpretation of Legrand’s music is equally highly praised, so much so that she was asked to write his eulogy for the Times and was the only American singer invited to perform at Legrand’s memorial at Le Grand Rex in Paris. In recent years, Errico has become a contributing writer to The New York Times and served on the National Endowment for the Arts. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Anyone want lemonade? Zach and Amanda discuss some questionable choices in filmmaking from the 1993 movie The Crush. An underage Alicia Silverstone plays a 14 year old obsessed with her new 28 year old neighbor. But that, of course, is not the entire plot. This film is problematic in more than one way, and we are here to talk all about it. Take a listen and don't forget to like us on Facebook and follow us on Bluesky and Twitter. This week I bring you a video version of last year's MTV Summer series. 2025 marked the end of MTV as we know it, although it is not completely wiped from the airwaves. I wanted to mark its cultural demise with a bang—more specifically, the fondled trigger of Fiona Apple's gun. The video vixens, like Alicia Silverstone and Erin Everly, who lit up the visuals for rock gods, are the sisters of the siren writhing on the floor, mouthing vitriolic truths about gender dynamics.
This week, we review Batman & Robin (1997), Joel Schumacher's neon-drenched, camp-infused take on the superhero genre. George Clooney dons the cowl as Batman, with Chris O'Donnell returning as Robin, joined by Alicia Silverstone's Batgirl. Together, they face off against a pun-happy Mr. Freeze (Arnold Schwarzenegger) and the seductive Poison Ivy (Uma Thurman) in a Gotham that looks more like a laser tag arena than a city in peril. With its over-the-top costumes, toyetic set pieces, and infamous one-liners, this film raises intriguing questions about how far a franchise can stray before it freezes over.Is it a cold-hearted flop or a misunderstood cult classic? All photos and videos to accompany this episode are on our substack! Askajew.substack.comIn this episode we cover the events of last week, from the horrific murders in Sydney, to Ben Shapiro at TPUSA, to - of course - Mandy Patinkin. In case you missed it, Ben Shapiro took to the stage last week at Turning Points USA's AmericaFest, and in front of 30,000 people, for 30 glorious minutes, tore into all the haters. And yes, he named names. I was wondering in the episode what the reaction was in the room to Ben's speech, or rather - how many of these kids are actually buying into the Candace/Tucker nonsense? This week I got my answer, when Blake Neff, Charlie Kirk's producer, posted the results of a straw poll of the attendees (most were under 30 years old btw).Well, well, well. Would you look at that. Almost 87%, wait, let me spell that out - EIGHTY SEVEN PERCENT, view Israel as either a top ally or one ally of many. Only 13.3% don't view Israel as an ally at all. This is not to say the online poison spewed by many of these straight-up antisemitic f*******s isn't real. But perhaps, after all, the kids are alright. You see, the problem with all these people as I explain is that they went full retard, aka full antisemite. They could have gotten away with it if they just harped on about the manufactured famine or the USS Liberty, maybe even the dancing Israelis conspiracy theory would have gone over smoothly with people who enjoy alternative facts and dance recitals. But they went full batshit, mossad-tried-to-kill-me, Israel-made-me-pay-for-sex-with-girls, Brigitte-Macron-is-a-man, Jewish-bees-are-trying-to-kill-me, crazy. And they are losing. Take some free advice from a PR person - stick to the acceptable antisemitism of lying about Israel and parroting Hamas talking points. It's worked for the left.Ok, enough about politics. In this episode we also cover:* Our response to Sydney - don't cancel any events. Show up stronger. Here is the Weest Village Chabad event on the first night of Hanukah. It was packed, joyful, and freezing. That's how we roll.* How low or high is the bar to be a good Jews? Chaya Leah thinks you need to celebrate a holiday that isn't in the top 5 and not wear wool and linen together, Yael thinks you just need to listen to this podcast (and would and Instagram story or two kill you?)* A wonderful Shabbat Dinner in Long Beach ful of listeners and love.* You can't scream people into being on your side.* A beautiful sermon to an empty room:* Hanukkah movie recommendation!UPDATE: I watched this movie. It is not good. Watch the Alicia Silverstone one instead.Never a bad time to remind you that all your favorite Christmas songs were written by Jews. How do we know? A few years ago we had a Rabbi on who talked to us about the Jewish roots of many Christmas songs. It's a story of immigration, love and hope. You should definitely listen, and yes - there's a Spotify playlist. This is a public episode. On this week's podcast you'll be devastated to hear that we are unable to review Taylor Swift: The End Of An Era, however don't switch off, because we do manage to rustle up some alternatives. Matt's Movie Lodgecast Episode Number 200 is upon us! For this, we picked the highly anticipated and prestigious film Bugonia from Greek god and director Yorgos Lanthimos. For this film, Yorgos has remade a 2003 South Korean movie called Save the Green Planet! Jesse Plemons plays a conspiracy theorist who, along with his cousin, abducts the CEO of the pharmaceutical company played by Emma Stone. Plemons' character delves into all sorts of alien conspiracy theories as Emma Stone's character tries to convince him otherwise. The countdown to Christmas is on!
Alonso and Jacks are back to kick off our Netflix Christmas movie journey — and the first one up is A Merry Little Ex-Mas.ABOUT A MERRY LITTLE EX-MASA separated couple tries celebrating one last Christmas together with their kids before their divorce. However, the husband's new girlfriend joins the festivities, causing tension and chaos during the holidays.AIR DATE & PLATFORM FOR A MERRY LITTLE EX-MASNovember 12, 2025 | NetflixCAST & CREW OF A MERRY LITTLE EX-MASAlicia Silverstone as KateOliver Hudson as EverettJameela Jamil as TessPierson Fodé as ChetMelissa Joan HartBRAN'S A MERRY LITTLE EX-MAS SYNOPSISWe're getting a Christmas story. We meet Kate about 20 years ago, fresh out of college and starting a job at an architecture firm. She goes to a party and dances with a guy named Everett. When he decides to settle down and start his own practice, she follows him to his small town of Winter Light.Flash forward 20 years: they've decided they're getting a divorce… sorry, cautiously uncoupling. Obviously, in Winter Light, you need the mayor's approval for that. They tell him they're still going to do Christmas together as a family, and the mayor (along with all their friends) thinks they're completely insane—because apparently you can't divorce nicely. It's going to be a full house for Christmas: Kate and Everett's son Gabriel and daughter Sienna, Sienna's boyfriend Nigel (who is a Harry Potter tour guide), Kate's sister, and… apparently, Everett's new girlfriend. Kate is the last to find out and, shockingly, she's not thrilled. She runs into Everett and his girlfriend, Tess, while out in town, and it is painfully awkward. The next day, Everett tells Kate he wants everyone—including Tess—to have dinner together tonight. Kate and the kids head to Everett's house and are shocked to see how chaotic things are. The vibes are weird, but maybe they'll get better… right? The next day it's time for Christmas traditions! Bright and early, Kate takes the kids to get a tree. At the lot, she meets a hunky young Santa named Chet, who gives her his number. She shrugs it off—until feeling discouraged by all the Tess-ness and her kids rolling their eyes at her eco-friendly traditions—so she decides… yolo.Naturally, their first date is with the entire family: sledding. It does not go well, with Kate crashing. Everett rushes to check on her, and—uh oh—the old sparks start flying.Kate and Tess chat. Tess basically asks, “How did you let him get away?”Everett and Chet chat. Same conversation, obviously.Turns out, Everett worked too much, and she was just too darn environmentally friendly.Everett apologizes to Kate for not being present in their marriage, and it means a lot… until he adds that if he ever marries Tess (or anyone else), he'll be better. That sends Kate spiraling, and she destroys the gingerbread village she made. She blurts out that she “can't wait to get out of this place.” When pressed, she admits that once Gabe finishes high school, she's moving back to Boston to become an architect again. They all have Christmas dinner together and exchange gifts. Kate gets Everett the indoor grill he's always wanted instead of her usual handmade gift. Everett gets Kate her favorite perfume—made from scratch. It's very sweet. And then Tess opens her gift from Everett: AirPods. She's like, “Excuse me… you MADE your ex-wife perfume from scratch?” Things go downhill fast when the Christmas tree catches fire. Chet—naturally—strips down to help put out the fire.Though Kate finds Chet extremely amusing, she ends up breaking things off with him.Later that night, Everett surprises Kate and the kids by showing up to look through their Christmas Eve picture book like they always do—which leads to an almost-kiss.Christmas morning: Tess bows out, knowing Everett is still in love with Kate. Chet comes to pick her up, obviously. With the power out at Everett's house, everyone heads to Kate's place—because of course hers is fully battery-powered. When they arrive, the entire neighborhood is already there, praising Kate for everything she's done. Through her family and friends, Kate realizes that even though she let go of her original dream, she still made a difference. The movie ends with Everett telling Kate he doesn't want a divorce. He wants to move with her to Boston. Kate tells him she's not going to Boston. Then they kiss—big ones.A year later, Kate has opened her own sustainability company. She's the one working all the time… but in a good way. And the movie ends with “You Can Call Me Al.” Watch the show on Youtube - www.deckthehallmark.com/youtubeInterested in advertising on the show? With a screenplay by Will Tracy, the film is an English-language remake of the 2003 South Korean film "Save the Green Planet!" by Jang Joon-hwan that had its world premiere at the Venice International Film Festival, where it received positive reviews for its compelling performances, pitch-black comedic writing, and otherworldly direction from Lanthimos. In this episode it was Jef's turn to pick a movie for the crew to watch and chat about, Brian and Josh figured after their stinky picks recently Jef was going to elevate the situation and pick a good movie. Well Jef decided it was only fair to stoop to their level and dig into the dumpster for a nice ripe one. Of course he would never just do any old thing, he will always make sure there are at the very least good actors attached to his pick. He was not wrong, he chose 1995's "Hideaway" starring Jeff Goldblum, Alicia Silverstone, Jeremy Sisto, Rae Dawn Chong and Alfred Molina! A whole stack of somebodies! Alas even with all that star power, Hideaway might be best appreciated by those that saw it when it came out, or who knows maybe it is your future favorite movie? Either way The FM3 dig into it and come out the other side forever touched by Heaven and Hell, and revived and ready for the next episode. So win win? Enjoy!
