Adam X's illustrious music career began in 1990 in Brooklyn, NYC, where he was born and raised. His earliest productions were released during this period, and he quickly gained momentum as one of the most adept DJs on the global underground techno scene. Alongside pioneer and brother Frankie Bones, he opened the doors of Groove Records in Brooklyn as America's first true outlet for underground electronic music with a direct focus on the techno genre. The Groove Records team also took part in organizing the first techno events ever to take place in NYC, including the legendary Storm Rave that started in 1991. Storm Rave was the first all-techno warehouse party organized on the East Coast of America, featuring line-ups with many up-and-coming artists who would later become global techno cult figures. The Sonic Groove label was born in 1995 at the upgraded Manhattan location of the shop (which also changed its name from Groove Records to Sonic Groove during the transition). Adam continues to operate the label in an exemplary and innovative way, with over one hundred releases to date, focusing on an assortment of techno music styles from many well established artists across the electronic music spectrum. A unique perspective and acute knowledge of music can be recognized in his DJ and live sets, which have always retained a unique sense of an uncompromised approach to the dance floor. Adam's approach facilitated acid techno's dominance in the early to mid-nineties, and he nearly single-handedly put the Industrial and EBM Techno cross-over genres on the map for the first two decades of the millennium. Now, Adam returns to his purist techno roots with a hard but deep thought-provoking sound, one combines the past, present and future of this timeless music. His Traversable Wormhole, ADMX-71, The Secret Initiative, Mass-X-Odus, and X-Crashed side-projects, along with his collaboration with co-conspirator U.K.-based artist Perc in their project AX&P, and with his techno life partner Maedon as Maedon-X on Tresor Records, have all strongly impacted the most discerning audiences. Adam X has also released his own work on his seminal imprint, as well as releases on some of the most essential labels to exist, both past and present, such as Wax Trax!, Direct Drive, Magnetic North, Peacefrog, Drop Bass Network, CLR, Hands Productions, as well as preeminent contemporary labels like Aufnahme + Wiedergabe, L.I.E.S, Hospital Production, and Pinkman. Adam currently resides in the electronic music capital of the world, Berlin, Germany. With unparalleled dedication, his activities never cease as he continues his individual tradition of operating on every vital level, from label activity to organizing events in the legendary Tresor club and performing in some of the world's most credible venues—a practice he has maintained since the early '90s. Adam X is a true force whose contribution has reached far into bringing the future forward for electronic music. "We were doing parties in Staten Island that were completely packed; Manhattan didn't want anything to do with us." Three New York visionaries discuss the city's '90s heyday. '90s nightlife in New York conjures images of Party Monster, jacking disco house and a rotating cast of mega clubs that saw thousands of revellers pass through their doors each weekend. From Limelight and Sound Factory to Palladium and countless others, clubbing was hitting its stride in New York, while producers like Joey Beltram, Frankie Bones and Damon Wild were producing game-changing 12-inches. But it was also the beginning of a decline, catalysed by the rollout of Mayor Rudy Giuliani's discriminatory policies that slowly gutted the club scene and the communities that called it home. To honour Resident Advisor's partnership with Wire Festival in Brooklyn this weekend, we're revisiting a panel recorded at our 24/7 party at Nowadays in 2018. We tasked the beloved Brooklyn fanzine Love Injection with presenting discussions covering five decades of dance music history. In this panel, Strictly Rhythm cofounder Gladys Pizarro, DJ and producer Lenny Dee and drag superstar and vogue performer Kevin Aviance spoke with journalist (and former RA staffer) Max Pearl about the rise and fall of the city's club scene during its golden decade. They also discussed how the city was sequestered, forcing many artists at the vanguard of '90s-era techno to make music and throw their own parties as the scene grew and shifted beneath the weight of city-wide reforms. "We were doing parties in Staten Island that were completely packed; Manhattan didn't want anything to do with us," said Lenny D. "So when we were doing it, we were making parties out in Brooklyn. A lot of music at that time was made here in Brooklyn—Joey Beltram, Frankie Bones, Tommy Musto, Damon Wild. So we had this scene where we're making great music, but no one's letting us play, so we're just going to do it ourselves." Listen to the episode in full.

Producer since 1990 - Live Act since 1990 - DJ since 1992 from Berlin/ Germany As bold as ever, House and Techno music has always been at the centre of Mijk van Dijk's musical universe, the place he calls his ‘microglobe'. Not satisfied with only mixing moving beats and emotive sounds, Mijk is dedicated to spreading a message through song titles, samples and his own lyrics. The idea of a microglobe: sharing ideas and music with people across an ever more connected planet and the facets of electronic music just being audible continents in a world of music continues to shape his artistic imagination. Throughout a career that now spans 28 years in electronic music alone, Mijk has produced with and for a diverse number of artists, including DJ Hell, Claude Young, Takkyu Ishino, Thomas Schuhmacher, DJ Rok, Toby Izui, Tanith, Cosmic Baby, Namito, Rummy Sharma, Rob Acid, Tom Wax and Martin Eyerer. He has also remixed Moby, Denki Groove, 2raumwohnung, GTO, Frankie Bones, Humate and Emmanuel Top, to name but a few. One of his most acclaimed productions to date – the Marmion tune Schöneberg – was conceived in collaboration with Marcos López and is considered as one of the eternal classics in House and Techno. Mijk has toured worldwide and developed an especially strong bond with fans in Japan, where he released on major and independent labels, such as Sony Music and Frogman Records. Being a practiced musician Mijk van Dijk has played live to audiences of tens of thousands, as well as jamming with music artists of different disciplines and genres. His DJ sets may often include live elements such as drum machines and effects, making each a fresh and exclusive experience. Microglobe is now home to all the different shades of Mijk's musical style. It began as a project name under which he released his first album Afreuropamericasiaustralica and now represents his new label microglobe musik produktion which merges all the influences of Mijk's music in one distinctive musical message. The first offering is the EP “Peace 4 All”, released on September 14th 2018. Other recent releases include his remixes for German electronic pop duo 2raumwohnung, T-Raum (Vienna), Henning Richter (Berlin), Sub Human Bros (Japan) and the latest “Schöneberg” remixes by Tim Engelhardt, 2raumwohnung and Der Dritte Raum. Mijk van Dijk was already called Multi-Mijk by Germany's leading Techno mag Frontpage in the early 90s. This is truer today than ever before.

His initial introduction to raves and clubs in the early 2000s led to an infatuation with underground music (Particularly house & tech). From there, This obsession grew into a passion for Djing and music production. After spending years on his craft, Dustin's music developed into a style of filthy yet intimate basslines, rugged and bouncy percussion and groovy vocals. Fast-forward to today, Dustin has signings on labels worldwide such as Pron Records and Majorleague Recordings, his event hosting business Blackout Entertainment and countless club bookings alongside artists such as Frankie Bones, Daniel Portmen, D-Unity, Sydney Blu & more. Keep an eye out for more from this Artist.

ReclaimEDM.com: music channel for deep underground quality music
#ReclaimEDM Podcast 01 features fresh techno, tech-house tracks from around the world, mixed live by DJ nomsta. This episode features music by Stephan Bodzin, Turinno, Sasha Carassi's remix of Spektre, Acumen, Perc remixing Amelie Lens, Alan Wools, Axel Karakasis, Balthazar & JackRock, Frankie Bones remixed by Raito, Flug and remix by Locked Groove, Kreisel & Dani Sinergia and Hertz. Starting the mix slow and easy to ease the listener in with Stephan Bodzin's new track "Catamaran" on Tales Of Us' label Afterlife, a melodic deep-dorderline-tech-house number and quickly pick up the pace with Turinno's recent tech-breaks release "Jungle Jungle" setting the tone for all the thumpers picked out for this debut podcast. It's December and everyone's feeling festive, in the mood to party and this mixtape is for just that, to get the groove on and straight up techno is the choice of hymn. Respekt Recordings' label boss Spektre's "Forged In The Heart Of A Laserbeam" got tuff with a remix by Italian Sasha Carassi stripping things down to build a cool, contemplative cut around the strings and pads of the sci-fi inspired tune (I'm liking this maybe because I've been watching all that Stranger Things - nomsta.), which was broken down by the constant hammering and rising wonky bassline of Acumen's "Ixtapa", an excellent tech/deep-house debut on Sasha's seminal Last Night on Earth imprint. Amelie Lens has been in the spotlight recently and Perc helped lend weight (pun intended) to a nononsence remix of her loopy public announcement "Stay With Me" to a chunky beat. "No Sleep" is for the music fans thick on the dark smoky dancefloor way past their bedtimes, that's how they party in Ukraine evidently as witnessed by Alan Wools, real name Arseny Volos, on Kiev based label IAMT. By now, the mix is on a steady 129 - 130 bpm rock-out of rolling basslines. Monster tracks shifting over to Greece based producer and self-made label Axel Karakasis' Remain Records, blended into "Wake Up Experience" a new release by Bulgarian techno production duo Balthazar & JackRock. 2017 saw Detroit techno legend Frankie Bones gave an update to his 1989 anthem "Call It Techno", and I had to play the Raito remix for this year-end roundup to date the mix. Mixed in by looping the spoken words vocals on the breakdown of the previous track. This is quickly chased into the deeper end with Argentinian-in-Barcelona Flug's original and Locked Groove's "broken techno" remix of the aptly named "Deepness" on Suara. Kreisel teams up with Dani Sinergia's for a soaring piece "Endless Space" recently released on Leeds-based label Yin Yang, and closing the mix, we teased with the slightly-trancey "303 In 1991", a track by Gothenburg based producer Hertz who actually did an early version of the track with limited studio gear now giving it a new rinse of updated kick and hi-hats. Enjoy! Tracklist / Stephan Bodzin - Catamaran (Original Mix, Afterlife) Turinno - Jungle Jungle (Extended Mix, Armada Electronic Elements) Spektre - Forged In The Heart of A Laserbeam (Sasha Carassi Remix, Respekt Recordings) Acumen - Ixtapa (Original Miх, Last Night On Earth) Amelie Lens - Stay With Me (Perc Remix, Second State) Alan Wools - No Sleep (Original Mix, IAMT) Axel Karakasis - Ball And Chain (Original Mix, Remain Records) Balthazar & JackRock - Wake Up Experience (Original Mix, Renesanz) Frankie Bones - Call It Techno (Raito Remix, Intec) Flug - Deepness (Original Mix, Suara) Flug - Deepness (Locked Groove Club Mix, Suara) Kreisel & Dani Sinergia - Endless Space (Original Mix, Yin Yang) Hertz - 303 In 1991 (Original Mix, Sway Records) Featured story on reclaimedm.com/en/blog/reclaimedm-podcast-01 Download available on Soundcloud @reclaimedm Send news to hello@reclaimedm.com For DJ booking, promos, media: nomsta@gmail.com
