Pastor Daniel Stevens' sermon emphasizes God's plan for growth and expansion in our faith and communities. Reflecting on Philippians 1:3-6, he highlights how the Apostle Paul's journey mirrors our calling to believe for “more to come.” Pastor Stevens reiterates Good Hope Church's vision—“Reach Up, Rise Up, Reach Out”—and explores Core Value #4: fostering Spirit-filled, life-giving churches in every community. This aligns with the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20) and the transformative power of Acts 1:8. Churches must not become stagnant or toxic but instead embrace their role in spreading hope.He encourages believers to adopt a “YES until no” attitude, prioritize God's long-term plan over personal attachments, and identify their unique role in advancing this mission—whether through going, giving, praying, or staying. Sacrifices, like Jesus leaving Heaven for humanity, are necessary but eternally rewarding. Together, we can empower the faithful to embrace the value of reaching the “one” while strengthening the “99.”#MoreToCome #SpiritFilledChurch #ReachUpRiseUpReachOut #FaithInAction #KingdomPurpose[ Video Version ] / [ Sermon Notes ][ Daily Devotions with Pastor Daniel ]STAY CONNECTEDDaily Devotionals with Pastor Daniel: http://goodhope.ag/devotionsSermon Podcast: https://sermons.goodhope.agInstagram: http://instagram.com/goodhopemnFacebook: http://fb.com/goodhopemn

Video version: https://youtu.be/fJWJgieaZN4 From hosting parties as kids on two home hifis in a small west country town to playing some of the biggest clubs and festivals in the world, schooldays best friends Nick Halkes and Andy Smith have enjoyed amazing careers both individually and together. Here they talk about remixing , touring and so much more as they prepare for the release of the third instalment of the Reach Up Disco Wonderland compilation series on BBE that Andy compiles. As schooldays best friends Andy and Nick ran a mobile disco together and hunted for bargain 12 inch vinyl in their childhood home town of Portishead near Bristol. At this point they had no idea that Andy would supply beats and tour the world with Portishead before one of the top 100 djs in the world nor that Nick would go on to set up the XL and Positiva labels becoming one of the UK mst respected dance and electronic music industry executives. Reach Up launched more than five years ago at London basement venue The Waiting Rooms and soon after appeared at Carl Cox's night at Space, Ibiza where they played for three seasons on the bounce and then also began packing out their monthly London residency at Peckham's South London Soul Train (hosted at the legendary Bussey Building). Following the 2017 release of the Reach Up Disco Wonderland compilation on the renowned BBE Records, Volume 2 was released in 2019. Andy and Nick's re-edits of two tracks on the 2017 Reach Up Disco Wonderland comp were just the start. Nick's collaboration with Full Intention, both to release original music on Midnight Riot and remix State of the Nation feat the Jungle Brothers, gained support from Purple Disco Machine, Dimitri from Paris and Roger Sanchez. From there a chart topping Nick Reach Up remix of Hideaway by De'lacey followed and a Nick Reach Up collab with Birdee and vocal legend Barbara Tucker that scored coveted daytime Radio One play in the UK whilst hitting top 3 on Traxsource. An invitation to remix Mel C took the Nick Reach Up sound into new territory whilst a rework of Body Work by Hot Streak also took off. Most recently Nick was approached to remix the Kylie single Magic taken from her album appropriately entitled ‘Disco' and in October 2020 had 4 remixes of his simultaneously in the Music Week Upfront Top 20. In the time that all this was happening amongst other achievements Andys re-edit of Will Sessions & Amp Fiddler feat. Dames Brown – Lost Without You notched up a tune of the month accolade in Mixmag. Despite having much to look back on Reach Up's monthly radio show on the award-winning Soho Radio features regular guest mixes from the likes of Full Intention, Jumpin' Jack Frost, Young Pulse, Danny Rampling and more showcasing the hottest new music along with classic and more hidden gems from back in the day. Despite knowing each other for decades maybe this is still just the start for Nick and Andys Reach Up Disco Wonderland adventure?!

Racism Related Stress can play a significant role in the lives of BIPOC, and can be a key factor in making or breaking successful treatment outcomes. But, how can we as clinicians help support the individuals struggling with this? This is exactly what Ray and Paul hope to answer following the expertise and guidance of Dr. Ryan DeLapp in this Master's in Practice episode. Ryan describes how his REACH UP model helps give clinicians an orientation to life that helps support and empower their BIPOC clients who are impacted by Racism Related Stress. We hope you enjoy this Master's in Practice episode: Racism Related Stress with Dr. Ryan DeLapp.
Dr. Ryan C.T. DeLapp—licensed psychologist and director of the Racial, Ethnic, And Cultural Healing program at The Ross Center—discusses how clinicians can address racial stress in youth of color through evidence-based skills and the REACH UP model.

Arby's is a fine first date, never eating ribs like a gentleman, caterwauling bouncing 65 year old village feeders.

This show is a departure from The CLI's one-to-one format. Chris is joined by three guests to discuss joining up sport and wellbeing in Sheffield. Anna Lowe is Programme Manager at the National Centre for Sport and Exercise Medicine and Leader of Move More. Chris Dayson is Associate Professor in the Centre for Regional Economic and Social Research, and leader of the Healthy and Active 100 research theme at the Advanced Wellbeing Research Centre (AWRC). Nigel Harrison is Chief Executive of the Yorkshire Sport Foundation. Move More is the vision of Sheffield as a happier, healthier, and more connected city. It recognises the key role that being more active has to play in that vision. The first Move More strategy was launched in 2015, and the second was launched in June 2021. It's a whole systems approach to increasing physical activity in Sheffield. The six priority areas are communities, education, health and social care, environment, sport, and active travel. Anna observes that many of the things that support wellbeing are non-medical; such as relationships, nature, and moving more. The latest Move More strategy targets the areas of the city where the need is greatest, as characterised by geographical location (the most disadvantaged wards), and demographic groups such as age (older people), and sex (women and girls). The Yorkshire Sport Foundation (YSF) is one of 43 active partnerships across England, primarily funded by Sport England. Their role is one of “connecting, influencing, and, where needs be, providing opportunities to be active.” One of YSF's managers is part of Anna's Move More team. Active Burngreave is an example of a project involving close collaboration between Move More and YSF. The funding for this originated from Comic Relief. The physical activity and sport were designed around how the community operated. The project employed Safiya Saeed, now a local councillor. She is “the sticky person that everybody goes to in that particular area.” There are now several activity groups: Big Brothers, Reach Up, Sisters. The key, maintains Nigel, is that this is people in Burngreave organising things for themselves through local leadership. The role of Move More and YSF has been to support it in the background through funding, advice, and professional development. Chris Dayson explains that social prescribing is an opportunity for health practitioners to address a patient's social and emotional needs by referring them on to activities in their community. Such activities may be social, physical, or a combination of the two. At the heart of the process – and where NHS England are investing a significant amount of money over 10 years – is the link worker. The link worker keeps abreast of what is happening in the community, and potentially also plays a community development role. They take the referral from the health practitioner, develop an understanding of the patient, and then put in place appropriate support and activities. Thus, social prescribing is a pathway from the NHS to the community, and it provides just one mechanism through which the Move More strategy might be delivered. Activities that involve connecting to nature or take place outdoors are sometime referred to as ‘green social prescribing.' The government has seven test and learn sites for green social prescribing. South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw has one of these test and learn pilots. This is a cross-government initiative including NHS, Department of Health, Defra, along with sector partners such as Sport England and Natural England. At present we don't know what proportion of social prescribing involves sports clubs, and in general there is a lack of knowledge about what capacity exists in the community and what can be done to support that capacity. Directories exist, but more important is the link worker's understanding of the community and what is going on. Chris is heavily involved in the evaluation of social prescribing. He describes...
It's easier to reach up than it is to bend down and get on somebody's level. Quit wasting your own energy waiting for people to match yours. Yes, you read that correctly. People who are not going to meet you and match your energy need to realize that they will get left behind. It is your life and you will reach success. With or with out them, it's not your problem, it's theirs. Keep grinding, keep working. People who are on your level will be drawn and pushed to you, everyone else simply doesn't deserve to be a part of your journey. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/katherine-gutierrez4/support
In today's episode, I want to share messages from my heart, given to me from God. I want to talk about how to overcome your struggles and help you understand that you are not alone. When you open yourself up to receive a hand up from God, you are open to do anything without fear. In 2012, as a single mom of 5 kids, I was so scared of being alone. Even though there is so much support for single mothers, I felt unsupported. I would pray every night for help to get me through the next day. It was through prayer and my experiences that I learned to reach up, not across. I opened a bakery out of my home and sold cattle out of my backyard. Through this, I learned confidence. This process taught me to look to God, look to your family, friends and peers and ask for their advice. I want to share with you my 4 steps to help reduce struggle. Try it for 3 days, first thing in the morning and last thing at night. I call this method L.O.V.E. Look to God. Open your eyes and heart. Verify truth. Enjoy the ride. A miracle is a shift in perspective. Look to God and know that you can relate to Him. Be brave, open your eyes and heart to Him, and know that he will show you the way up. Look for the truth of the situation. The truth is what happened, not your feelings. Finally, strap in and enjoy the ride. Thank God for your blessings and for where you are. Know that wherever you are is where you are meant to be. Know that you will be greater for what you are going through.
