What started as a technology demonstration three years ago with plans for only five short flights across the Martian surface, has come to a bittersweet end.
One of the pioneers of the web, VNC, Webcams, and more joins us; plus we'll update you on a few projects we love. Special Guest: Quentin Stafford-Fraser.

In 1992, Ole Brøsted Sørensen & Morten Støve left Brüel & Kjær and developed their first product, the 4006 Omnidirectional Microphone.DPA mics became popular across a number of sectors, including the theatre market, who needed a solution that, while still capturing clear sound, was flexible and easily concealable. DPA also collaborated with the Danish hearing aid manufacturer Muphone, who were looking to create better sound in smaller units. DPA minimised the capsule size into a miniature package that was so clear sounding and yet unobtrusive, it could support creative expression on the stage and work began on creating headset versions of the miniature mics. After years of shared success, DPA and Muphone merged in 2005.Since 2015, DPA has intensified its focus on new product development and has increased its investment into research, creating concealable miniatures, flexible headsets and top-of-the line vocal microphones. CORE by DPA was introduced in 2017 in the miniature lavalier and headset capsules. This preamplifier technology minimises distortion and expands dynamic range. Each microphone is assembled by hand at DPA's factory in Denmark. During the process, which can take up to 200 steps, each one is calibrated up to 15 times before final approval.https://www.dpamicrophones.com/https://mars.nasa.gov/mars2020/Sam Inglis BiogEditor In Chief Sam Inglis has been with Sound On Sound for more than 20 years. Last month, the Perseverance rover successfully landed on Mars following a six-and-half-month journey from Earth through space. Over the next Martian year (or, over 600 days here on Earth), the rover will search for signs of ancient life, collect data about the climate and geology on Mars and pave the way for human exploration of the Red Planet. This mission is a group effort by the scientists, engineers, technologists and more at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Jim Rinaldi, former CIO and current Chief Information Technology Advisor at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, joins Juliet to discuss IT's role in a successful mission, and how his team at JPL supports mission personnel from early planning stages through landing and beyond.
This week's episode gets into all of the hard-hitting topics: the end of Kimye (we know, so sad), NASA's Mars 2020 Perseverance rover and a DD-Krispy Kreme debate you just won't wanna miss.
The Perseverance Rover was launched on July 30, 2020, at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida. It landed on Jezero Crater, Mars by Feb 18, 2021. Our goal today is to know some important reasons behind the #MARS2020 mission.
We share some exclusive details about the Linux-powered gear that just landed on Mars, and the open-source frameworks that make it possible. Plus a major new feature coming to a Linux distro near you.

Dánartíðni þessara hópa virðist margföld á við a
Halldór Halldórsson, fyrrverandi bæjarstjóri á Ísafirði og fyrrverandi borgarfulltrúi í Reykjavík situr í stjórn Ofanflóðasjóðs, tilnefndur a
