Quand on pense «gangs» on pense The Wire ou Gangs of New York. Extraits sonores Frankie Cutlass, Puerto RicoFat Joe, FlowJoeJust Ice, Gangster Style RapSyko, Ten CuidadoTego Calderon, AbayardeChinx Drugz ft. Frankie Cutlass, is an American Platinum producer, DJ, rapper, musician, writer, and remixer from Harlem, New York, United States. He is best known for his hits "Puerto Rico Ho" and "Shake Whatcha Mama Gave Ya." It was Cutlass's brother who first inspired him to DJ, and Cutlass first used the decks in the 1980s at the age of 12. Shortly after, he started working as a DJ at local parties and clubs. Cutlass first hit the scene at the age of 15 and one year later left school to embrace a full-time music career. He soon moved into production as well, working with Freestyle music artists such as TKA, K-7, Sa-Fire, The Cover Girls, George Lamond, Judy Torres, and Lisette Melendez. In 1994, Cutlass used his own label, Hoody Records, to produce The Frankie Cutlass Show, from which his single "Puerto Rico" played on the underground club circuit. In 1995, Cutlass released his second single "Boriquas on the Set" featuring Fat Joe, Doo Wop, and Ray Boogie as an underground hit, and it would lead him to a recording deal with Relativity Records/ Violator Records. By the mid-1990s, Cutlass was a member of the Funkmaster Flex team "The Flip Squad" and started spinning at special events, and on the airwaves for New York City's Hot 97 (WQHT) Radio Station. Frankie's interest had expanded into production as well as leading him to work with popular artists such as Notorious B.I.G, Uncle Luke, Fat Joe, Shaggy, Rayvon, Akinyele, Mad Lion and veteran Latin Music artists such as Tito Nieves on his smash "I Like It Like That" 1997 saw the release of his second album, Politics & Bullshit, paying tribute to old-school rap and featuring artists such as Redman, Busta Rhymes, Mobb Deep, Fat Joe, Smif-n-Wessun, Sadat X, Biz Markie, Craig G, Kool G Rap, M.O.P., Keith Murray, Heltah Skeltah, the Lost Boyz and Roxanne Shanté.The third single, "The Cypher, Pt. 3," reunited several veterans of Marley Marl productions, including Biz Markie, Roxanne Shanté, Big Daddy Kane, and Craig G --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/melissabillieclark/support

The Freestyle Club Episode 26: Second Generation with Andy "Panda" Tripoli The Freestyle Club sits down with the one and only, Song Writer and Producer Andy "Panda" Tripoli. We start things off with MTV's 2nd Generation hosted by Tony Moran (one half of the Latin Rascals) and Andy Panda. Andy talks about the creation of the show, being picked up for a second season, the representation of Latinos and Latin Hip Hop music and the reasons for the show ultimately being canceled. [zoomsounds_player config="TFC-Player" songname="Second Generation with Andy "Panda" Tripoli" type="detect" source="https://media.blubrry.com/thefreestyleclub/s/https://s3.amazonaws.com/thefreestyleclub/TFC-026.mp3" thumb="https://daunknownadmin.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/TheFreestyleClub-026xBlog.png" alt="Second Generation with Andy "Panda" Tripoli " replace_artistname="Andy Panda, CPR Jose Ortiz, and Nick Colon"] Andy goes on to talk about the genesis of The Cover Girls. He explains how his love of Motown Music and groups like The Supremes and others inspired him to create his own girl group. We set out with the concept and shared his vision with Sal Abbatiello of Fever Records. Eventually, after a few initial replacement, they finalize the members of The Cover Girls and Andy pens Show Me. We examine how Freestyle was "OUR" generation's Salsa Music. We reminisce how our parent would play Salsa Music and how we grew up listening to Salsa Music. Now as we grew up our children, in turn, grew up listening to our version of Salsa Music with Freestyle Music. We also take note of how Old Salseros are not generally known to be accepting of new artists and how that mentality is now present in Freestyle Music. Proving that Andy Panda listens to The Freestyle Club, he sets the record straight on Together Forever and the role that Frankie Cutlass played in the creation of this Freestyle Classic. Andy talks about Tony Moran and his many contributions to the Freestyle Music genre. We wrap up the interview with Andy sharing his upcoming Freestyle Music projects.

A pioneer in musical innovation and evolution, Electronica singer-songwriter Janid (Jah-NEED) has been unleashed upon the world since 2006 with her dark, sensual sounds; irreverent yet poetic lyrics; and distinctly commanding voice. After three evolutionary albums, spanning Latin, R&B, Pop and Dance genres, Janid has established herself as a powerhouse in entertainment today. Recognized as a uniquely gifted and influential artist by thousands of fans, colleagues and the Recording Academy, Janid is often sought after for performances, endorsements and collaborations. She has appeared on projects for Frankie Cutlass, Nocera, Roy'al and Kaydean, movie soundtracks, television and radio commercials, and is the Spanish voice of 1-800-JETBLUE. In mid-2011, Janid is scheduled to make her big screen debut in the 5.2 Films motion picture “Bare Knucklez”. Janid's early work has already earned her a list of awards and accolades including the CNet Editor's Pick for Brown Eyed Soul Artist Award, recognition from the Recording Academy, a nomination for Best Independent Artist of 2009 from Internet Radio Magazine, title of “New York's Sexiest Latina” from Farandulife Magazine, two nationally televised performances at the New York National Puerto Rican Day Parade in 2006 and 2010, the most requested performer during the Gay Pride Events season in 2009, as well as international performance invitations from Mexico, Japan and South America. Even more impressive is that she has accomplished this without ever being signed to a major label. Possibly the hardest working independent female recording artist of the new millennium, Janid has managed to forge a path of success where others have failed. She continues to brand an indelible mark by inspiring and encouraging a new generation of recording artists and leaves a sea of mesmerized fans in her wake with what they have labeled “the sound of the future”.
