The gruesome twosome are finally back with all the crazy talk. The are talk politics, they are talking flagpoles and they are talking about the abuse the Alex puts on hotel rooms!

Notorious B.I.G. - Ready To Die Biggie, Biggie, Biggie Smalls is the illest. The Notorious B.I.G. - Ready to Die (1994) Dem Vinyl Boyz head to the home of Hip-Hop., New York City! East coast Rap at its finest. “Ready to Die” is a concept album chronicling the life and myth of the Notorious B.I.G., complete with stories of robbery, drug dealing, sex and even suicide. It was the first full-length album release from Bad Boy Records, a new imprint run by a young Sean “Puffy” Combs. Combs was very involved in the production and direction of “Ready to Die,” especially with the hit singles “Juicy” and “Big Poppa.” “Puffy was incredibly smart about branding,” Coker says, “and about how to sell this album to the masses at large.” The album features productions by Bad Boy founder Sean "Puffy" Combs, Easy Mo Bee, Chucky Thompson, DJ Premier, and Lord Finesse, among others. It was recorded from 1993 to 1994 at The Hit Factory and D&D Studios in New York City. The partly autobiographical album tells the story of the rapper's experiences as a young criminal, and was the only studio album released during his lifetime, as he was murdered sixteen days before the release of his second album Life After Death in 1997. Hello and welcome or welcome back to another episode of Yasmine’s Warehouse! Today’s episode is actually an assignment for my AP Language and Composition class, but I had to share! The question we had to answer was “What shapes identity?” My assignment partner Wes Fowler and I discuss how musical theater can both shape and reflect identity. In my research I found the online movement named #TheaterInColor which inspired the name of our episode and the arguments within. Helping us in our analysis and sharing her story is actor, writer, director, and educator Ms. Sharon Miles. Working with Wes and Ms. Sharon was an honor. I am so glad that we were able to come together out of our love for musical theatre, and more, that I have a platform to share it with all of you. If you've seen Hamilton (or have had a Hamilton phase like me) you're in for a treat! I had so much fun editing this, particularly the ~rhetorical choices~, and I hope you appreciate the way it came out. Thank you so much for joining us today, and I hope you enjoy the show! ✩✩✩ Stay updated: Insta: @yasmineswarehouse Facebook: Yasmine Ware Email: yasminetware@gmail.com Yasmine's Warehouse: “Spreading a little light in the world." We have a lot of exciting announcements for today. Let's get into it. Comes A Time Premiere. We're proud to announce a brand new podcast, called Comes A Time, with Oteil Burbridge and Mike Finoia. As Oteil and Mike say, “In these strange days, when you think it can't get any weirder, it does.” They'll be talking to artists, comedians, activists and more to discuss where we are today, and where we go from here. This will be a weekly podcast that will be on video and audio. Today you can listen to their first episode, and tomorrow you'll be able to watch or listen to episodes with Bob Weir, Melvin Seals and Mountain Girl. They have a bunch of awesome guests coming on in the near future.Festival Circuit: New Orleans Finale. Today we're releasing episode 5 of Festival Circuit: New Orleans. In this final episode, we wrap things up by looking at what the future holds for live music and jazz fest, how the music industry needs to change, and we pay tribute to some of the people who made New Orleans music what it is today.Miles Davis on Late Era. In the second episode of this new show, the guys cover “Doo-Bop,” the last studio album by Miles Davis. It was recorded with hip hop producer Easy Mo Bee and released after he died, on June 30, 1992. The album was received unfavorably by most critics, although it won a Grammy Award for Best R&B Instrumental Performance the following year. Reviews included that it “succeeded only in fits and starts,” so Sam, Andy and Winston take a fresh look at this odd album.Lonely Trip on Helping Friendly Podcast. On this new episode, Brad and I got to record together in person and review Lonely Trip, the 15-song quarantine album that has provided us with a ton of great new music, and a lot to dig into and discuss. We went song by song, discussing the music and lyrics, the influences, and we tell some stories along the way. Help Save Our Stages. We wanted to help plug the Save Our Stages movement, organized by the National Independent Venue Association (NIVA). If you visit their site, you can send pre-filled letters to your representatives and senators about legislation in the House and Senate that would help ensure the survival of live performance venues across the nation. Ford about some of her inspirations, including Toni Morrison (who, yes, was also from the Midwest). Then, with the Notorious B.I.G.’s hip hop classic “Ready to Die” turning 25 this week, we hear from one of its producers, Easy Mo Bee, and music writers Cheo Hodari Coker and Sowmya Krishnamurthy, about how the album first landed — and how its impact is still profound. After some studio issues and unfortunate delay I’m back up and running with part 2 of the Fresh Produce I dropped a while back….Mo Easy Mo Bee for you & yours…focusing on some of the later stuff in his catalog with some classic throwbacks tossed in for good measure, I stayed away from the obvious trying to go for the more unknown/unheard so if you’re wondering where’s all the Biggie stuff, Flava in ya Ear, Reprogram Remix, this is why…it’s a tribute not a “best of”…but I did leave some good ones out there for sure…stay tuned for episode 20 coming next, about to hit it hard now that I can function again!01 – Gza– Words From The Genius02 – Big Daddy Kane – That’s How I Did’em03 – Wu-Tang Clan – Take It Back04 – MC Eight & Dat Nigga Daz – Hit The Floor (Easy Mo Bee Remix)05 – Ras Kass – Grindin’ ft. Another nod to the beatmakers…Easy Mo Bee, easily one of the more overlooked producers from the golden era but he had a crazy attention to detail and knack for great accent samples slipped into the multiple classics he produced. He definitely had one of the most unique sounds of the time and was a go-to producer for Biggie, 2Pac, Craig Mack and more…on top of working with legends like Miles Davis, Slick Rick, Heavy D, Gza, Redman, Big Daddy Kane and his crazy remix work for Ill & Al Scratch, Rakim, 3rd Bass..he laced other legends randomly like Public Enemy, Jesse West, Paula Perry, Busta Rhymes, Positive K & more… 01 – Miles Davis Intro/Early 90’s Interview02 – Gza – Slammin’03 – Big Daddy Kane – Stop Shammin’04 – J-Rock – Let Me Introduce Myself05 – Heavy D – Black Coffee06 – Slick Rick – Cuz It’s Wrong07 – Craig Mack – Mainline08 – Paula Perry – Down To Die For This ft. Hiyer. How are ya? Thanks for being here. It's very much appreciated. Remember when Notorious B.I.G. and Method Man dropped red-hot collab 'The What' over an impeccably produced Easy Mo Bee beat? Well what we've got here for episode 75 is the podcast equivalent. Well it's not really, but that is a dead good song. This week's guest is podcasting royalty. It's the multi award-winning Griefcast's very own Cariad Lloyd. Cariad is an infectious ball of energy juggling so many different and brilliant creative pursuits. She and Craig discuss acting, podcast life, improvisation, grief and so, so much more. You might know Cariad from the afore-mentioned Griefcast, or from her improvised comedy group Austentacious. You might know her from her appearances in Peep Show, Murder in Successville and Toast of London. You might also know her from her appearances on Would I Lie To You, 8 Out Of 10 Cats, Have I Got News For You or QI. Basically, she does a lot. And she always does it wonderfully well. And she's dead cool. This is episode 75 of the Two Shot Podcast with the brilliant Cariad Lloyd. Get in touch... Easy Mo Bee is one producer that has touched the lives of Hip Hop fans that have been in love with two of our most prominent gems that this culture has had to offer. One man that has worked with the likes of Tupac & Biggie and can explain the origin of the friendship. He is also responsible for the musical playing field that Jay-Z & Biggie used to trade verses on I Love The Dough. Songs like Gimme The Loot, Warning, Temptation & of course one of the biggest songs that we have ever seen from New York at a time when the West Coast dominated the game. That was Flavor In Your Ear by the Late great Craig Mack. This man’s humble demeanor is the reason for the name that we use to address him professionally and that name is Easy Mo Bee. Tune in to witness the man play the elements of these hits using an original drum machine and historical sampler(Sp1200 & S950). Please enjoy this one of a kind interview on Behind The Smoke.
"Paula Perry"Female hip-hop MC from Brooklyn, NY. People first heard Paula Perry as a member of Masta Ace, INC, where she proved to be far more than simply a token female crew member. She struck out on her own with her debut single "Paula's Jam," which was a monster underground hit. And she soon released a slew of singles, including "Extra, Extra" produced by Premier. She eventually wound up on Motown Records, but her album, Tales From Fort Knox, got lost in the system. Life and work. Paula Perry grew up in Fort Greene, Brooklyn, an area that at the time consisted mainly of prefabricated blocks of social housing (so-called projects ). It was discovered by rapper Uneek, also from Brooklyn, who introduced her to Masta Ace . In 1992, with Masta Ace, Perry recorded a song called Kick It On The One , intended for the second solo album by Masta Ace, Shelf Life . However, since Masta Ace overcame with his label Cold Chillin ', there was no longer the release of this album. The already completed songs were released years later on two EPs. The recorded with Paula Perry song is located on the first of these two discs, on Shelf Life Vol. 1 , a 2013 published and limited to 300 copies pressing on Chopped Herring Records. After separating from Cold Chillin 'Masta Ace founded the Masta Ace Incorporated crew (Masta Ace, INC.) And joined the group on the label Delicious Vinyl. Paula Perry was also included in the crew. Together, the album SlaughtaHouse was released in 1993. On the occasion of the tenth birthday of the video music show Video Music Box , which started in 1983, Paula Perry and Masta Ace were able to perform their song Who You Jackin from the SlaughtaHouse album live. After Perry had canceled an early tour of the group because she preferred her own professional career of uncertain music career, she then toured regularly with Masta Ace, INC. By her own admission, she received only for these tour performances money from the record label, but not for their participation in the albums. [1]Two years later, in 1995, the crew released the second album called Sittin 'On Chrome . This made it to # 19 on the Billboard Top R & B / Rap album charts and remained in the Billboard Top 200 for months. In 1996, Paula Perry released her first 12 " solo as a solo artist entitled Paula's Jam (on Loose Cannon Records, a 1994-96 imprint of PolyGram Records, whose best-known artist was Buju Banton ). The song received in the music press partly outstanding reviews. In a review it was said:24-year-old Brooklynite Paula Perry fluted glasses of Cristal. "" If we were judging female MCs these days on verbal skills instead of puny poetry, then Lil 'Kim and Foxy Brown would revert to their given names and serve. ""If rappers were to be judged on their verbal abilities and not on their sexualized gutter language, Lil 'Kim and Foxy Brown would have to end their careers (" take their bourgeois name back ") and 24-year-old Paula Perry from Brooklyn would be champagne (" Cristal ") a champagne brand) in crystal glasses. "- Charles Aaron : in the music magazine Spin , issue February 1997, p. 92It was followed in 1998 by the song Down To Die For This (on the label Motown ) as well as collaborations with the Lost Boyz ( The BQE ) and other rappers (Nicki D, Paula Perry, Rah Digga , Heather B , Precious P & Bahamadia - Six-pack ).With the single produced by DJ Premier and recorded at the D & D Studios in New York , Extra !! (in 1998 on Motown) in the style of an extra page of the fictional newspaper Fort Greene Chronicles on her already completed and raring album titled Tales From Fort Knox (the title is a nod to her birthplace Fort Greene, Brooklyn) be pointed out. The song was played internationally on the radio and was also mentioned in the German music press:"Refined by the golden producer hands DJ Premiers, this track delights Paula Perry's debut album [...] from the very first second. The ingenious mixture of hypnotic minimal beats, a gripping funk groove and a voice from which one would like to be told a few stories, captivates sustainably. "- Norbert Schiegl : in the music magazine JUICE , issue 5-1998, p. 82However, the aforementioned album was never released, allegedly because the label (Mad Sounds Recordings, an existing in the 1990s and specialized in hip-hop sublabel Motown ) intended for the release and promotion funds instead for an album by Queen Latifah ( Order In The Court ) used. Most promo CDs of the 17-song album were destroyed by the label, although there had already been reviews in music magazines. Allegedly, there are only fewer than ten copies today, so that individual promo CDs of the album are traded on the Internet at top prices. In addition to the previously published single tracks, the album contained productions of Easy Mo Bee , Clark Kent and Domingo. Guests included Kelly Price and Perry's mentor, Masta Ace, and Que 45, with whom she has a son. Masta Ace produced under the pseudonym Ase One also four songs of the album. Two years later appeared with Y'All Chickens Make Me Laugh another 12 "of the artist under her real name (this time on the label Fully Blown Recordings), which was also played internationally on the radio. One last solo release available on a physical sound carrier was the 12 " I'm So Ghetto / Watch Ya Head , released under the pseudonym" The God Mommie "(in 2003 via Familliar Faces Records). Since then, Paula Perry came out only on the Internet published mixtapes ( Paula Perry The Godmommy, 6 , 2009, and Take Another Shot At It , 2012), as well as through short videos in which she directed herself.Although Paula Perry made a name for herself in her hip-hop underground through her early songs ( Paula's Jam and Extra, Extra !! were underground hits and made it into the Hot R & B Singles of the Billboard charts), she finished her Career as a musician, without ever having made the commercial breakthrough as a solo artist. This week we were lucky enough to talk to legendary producer Easy Mo Bee. He shares amazing stories from his long and illustrious career working with Biggie, 2Pac, Miles Davis, Craig Mack, and more! We’re very proud of this interview and hope you enjoy it.
On March 12, 2018 Craig Mack passed away at the age of 47. The famed Brentwood, New York MC was the first artist to release music on the then up-coming Bad Boy Records label; and with the release of his debut album, Project: Funk da World on September 20, 1994, Mack's "Flava in Ya Ear" became a much needed first success for Bad Boy and it's head Sean Combs. Mack's Project: Funk da World was made up of 11 tracks, 5 of which were produced by the legendary Easy Mo Bee. Here is The Library with Tim Einenkel's interview with Mo Bee about collaborating with Craig Mack and the important place that Craig Mack's music and persona had and still have in Hip Hop. In a week dominated by stories about former New York Giants place kicker Josh Brown and the NFL's continual coverup of domestic violence, we speak to Jessica Luther, author of the book “Unsportsmanlike Conduct: College Football and the Politics of Rape.” This week I also have some choice words of my own about the Giants’ shameful handling of the Josh Brown incident and why Roger Goodell should, in my opinion, no longer be employed. This week on The Library with TIm Einenkel, Tim talks to Jahi a member of the hip-hop group, P.E 2.0 which dropped it's first project last year, People Get Ready, last year and is set to release their latest album, insPirEd in the first week of January 2016. The album features guest appearances from the likes of KRS-One, production from the legendary Easy Mo Bee and brilliant social commentary. Jahi tells Tim: "Chuck could have selected a lot of different people for P.E. 2.0 and I'm humbled and honored that he selected me. I think it's because that I have a voice, there is a particular level of lyricism that I'm already about, that I was influenced already by Public Enemy KRS-One, Rakim and many others...Public Enemy is my voice. It was Public Enemy that set a culturally consciousness." Learn more about your ad-choices at https://www.iheartpodcastnetwork.com

Essential. Cyrus Malachi is one the UK's deepest rhyme writers. His recorded works of art are nothing short of instant revelation, so it was our pleasure to welcome him onto the show to discuss his new album, mixtape and the impact and ambition of No Cure Records in 2010. We talk wider issues regarding the UK hip hop scene and Mista Montana mocks Giggs openly - a true deliverance. AND THAT'S NOT ALL! As Redphone Records continues to gain threatening momentum, one of their key vocal messengers, Matt Maddox, join us for an exploration of underground hip hop's leading lights including their recent signing of Viper Records affiliate NightWalker, their distribution deal with Rob Schwartz's powerhouse Whomag Distribution and much more in an interview that will inspire you. Easy Mo Bee is a legendary hip-hop producer whose skill and ingenuity behind the board merits him being labeled as a true hip-hop pioneer and trailblazer. An influential figure in helping build the Bad Boy Records empire, Easy Mo Bee turned Craig Mack's "Flava in Ya Ear," and Notorious B.I.G's "Ready to Die" album into instant hip-hop classics. From "Doo-Bop", his Grammy-award winning collaboration with the late Miles Davis, to cuts from Busta Rhymes, Tupac, LL Cool J, Big Daddy Kane and more, Easy Mo Bee's musical styling and producing easily combines sounds from today and yesterday with some of the best MC's in the business. This is a must hear interview, tune in for the latest and greatest from this Hip-Hop Icon and Motivator Thomastrius L. The story of her journey is truly an amazing one. Williams intends to continue writing, as well as provide motivational speeches to inspire others pursuing their educational goals.
I For this post I let the people decide the next mix I put up. After going through all the votes a 2Pac mix was the winner. I'm sure a lot of it has to do with the large majority of the people that visit this site are from California but it's all good. Thanks again to everybody that gave their ideas and some of them I do plan to do in the future so keep checking back. But anyways this was really easy because i'm also a big fan of 2Pac. I was actually the only one in my whole crew that really listened to 2Pac. Being from Virginia you didn't hear a lot of him on the radio partly because of the whole east coast west coast situation that was going on at the time but that's another story. These are some of my favorite songs by Pac and most of them are actually east coast influenced. Before 2Pac signed with Death Row Records, 2Pac worked with a lot of East Coast producers like Easy Mo Bee, Stretch (RIP), and so on. Also right before he died he was working with Buckshot, The Beatminerz and the whole Boot Camp Clik so his style was really a mix of both coasts in my opinion. So here it is and if you're listening to this at work be careful because you might want to snuff someone in the face or start a new revolution in your office.
