In this edition of Don't Blame Ali, Ali shares her unfiltered take on the recent attention Taylor Swift has received following her tweet on Monday to Netflix show Ginny & Georgia after one of their episode's made a sexist joke at Taylor's expense. "What do you care? You go through men faster than Taylor Swift." In honor of Taylor and Women's History Month, Ali focuses on two strong and incredible women who influenced songs on Taylor's Folklore and Evermore albums respectively, Rebekah Harkness and Marjorie Finlay. If you love the songs The Last Great American Dynasty and Marjorie, this is the episode for you. Then finally, in a last ditch effort, Ali shares her theory on if the Folklore-Evermore trilogy album could still exist with an interesting take on Taylor's music video for Cardigan. It is officially Women's History Month, thus Alana and Xia dedicate a an entire episode to discussing womanhood, sisterhood, and why each are important in our society. The hosts discuss how childhood experiences shaped their idea of womanhood, little girls being labeled as a "Tom-Boy," and how this impacted their ability to create women friendships in adulthood. Alana reveals that she did not realize she needed sisterhood until she was about 25 years old; and Xia discusses some of the challenges she faced as she began to build relationships with women. They also discuss how women are portrayed in the media and on this plays into the comparison and competition among women. The goal of this episode: to remind women and mothers that even through our differences, we can connect on the simple fact that we are women. Today we close out Happy Women's History Month ... Strong! We've had an entire month to revel and reflect on all of the work, magic and honor ALL that women bring to each space. We would be remiss to ignore that behind every #unboughtunbossedunfinished woman is an equally #unboughtunbossedunfinished circle/group/gang of friends! As always we catch up on how we have been Unbought. Unbossed. Unifinshed. and share more than a few laughs. In this episode's leadership development topic we discuss the full gamut of #sisterhood -- building sista-friends, sustaining sisterhood, and our personal experiences in phasing out close friends. We Speak the Name of #MarielleFranco, a Brazilian politician and activist who was recently assassinated. Share with us how your sista-friends help you reach your goals! Welcome to YOUR space!

Australian-born Maxine Thompson attended culinary school in NYC and launched a business in London. Talk about a worldly woman! She has grown Polka Pants, her business of bespoke chef's trousers for women, into a recognized brand that's getting much deserved attention. I begin this episode with an introduction to March being Women's History Month and give a hat-tip to just a few of the many amazing women in my life. Maxine is perfect to have on this episode acknowledging women because she's a rockstar. In this episode she talks about how she got the idea to make chef's pants for women, how she made is happen and the strategy involved in providing and developing a product that fills a void in the culinary industry. She talks about owning a business and how she stays sane, offering tips like a little technology ban time and going out dancing with friends. As promised, here's the video when Maxine came on my YouTube channel to show me how to make deep-fried olive oil ice cream: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GGE6Rt_E520 I hope you like the episode! * (apologies for the poor sound quality in advance -- tech issues!) * Happy Women's History Month everyone!! Its pretty apparent that music is a male dominated industry so for this week's episode we decided to honor some fabulously fierce women who are killing it in the game. Being that we are three women of color voicing our views on all things music, this was especially important to us. We also shared our views on the hypersexualization of women in the industry and if it can make or break an artist.

Days into International Women’s History Month, the Boom Bap Radio crew finally decided to get to work by honoring the many female MC’s who have made Hip Hop a better place. Aaah the good ‘ol days when there were female rappers throughout the Hip Hop landscape and there was no Iggy Azalea to be found. The C.O., the Angry Engineer and Masta Talka traveled on a musical journey that included the likes of Lauryn Hill, Dimples D; Foxy Brown, Lil Kim, Missy Elliott and so many more dope MC’s in this celebration of female lyricists. In this blissful, post-racial world, we didn’t worry about bigoted fraternities in Oklahoma, letters to Iran from Conservatives, the killing of more unarmed minorities by police in Los Angeles and Wisconsin, or the celebratory 50th Anniversary of the march in Selma, Alabama. Nope. Well at least we’ll never have to worry about there being a nigger SAE. Good thing those kooky kids aren’t racist. I’m told they have really good hearts. Yo! Is dude pooping on my car? Oh crap. It’s Boom Bap Radio!
