Happy March 9th! (Or whatever day it is, because time is a construct). We kick off the episode by discussing our nighttime routines. Mike shares how he and Sam wind down with Wordle and Connections, while trying to read The Chronicles of Narnia instead of endlessly scrolling TikTok. We also preview an upcoming boys' ski trip where Mike and Dan will try to survive the slopes before the spring weather and Boston Marathon season officially take over. Then, we dive into the high-stakes anxiety of grocery shopping. Erin's fear of doing the "wrong thing" reached new heights when she accidentally left a gourmet jar of olives in her reusable bag.In our massive Winter Paralympics preview, we discuss the badass sport of biathlon (they ski with guns on their backs!), para snowboard drama with Brenna Huckaby. We also check in with our favorite "Dark Horse Dani" (Dani Aravich), who sends us an update from the Italian Dolomites about infuriating the locals by eating daily gelato in the winter just to gain weight for her races. Finally, we break down a bizarre niche internet rabbit hole: a TikTok creator who hires entertainers—like magicians, clowns, and a Tom Cruise impersonator—to perform exclusively for him in his empty house, which recently resulted in an accidental therapy session with a motivational speaker. We wrap it all up with a wholesome "No Bad, No Sad" story about a mystery fan putting up a giant billboard dedicated to Al Roker, and Al's delightfully coy reaction to his very own monument.

This episode is brought to you by: Sign up and get 10% off: Better Help Soberlink – sign up and claim your $100 enrollment bonus Happy March! The Café RE theme this month is Mindfulness and Awareness. This key topic helps us build awareness and space, which ultimately gives us the freedom to make different choices beyond drinking. Café RE will feature chats focused on mindfulness. It has been said that the most powerful medicine can't match the power of awareness. Recovery Elevator is compiling a list of recovery stories and we're going to put them in a book called This is How We Quit. If you want to be part of this book, and submit your story, we'd love to have you. There is no sobriety time requirement so if your saying to yourself, well, I've only been sober 30 days, I can't submit my story, then nonsense. Send an email to info@recoveryelevator.com and you'll get a google form to fill out and submit your story. [03:56] Thoughts from Paul: Paul shares with us a quote from author Brianna Wiest. "Your new life is going to cost you your old one. It's going to cost you your comfort zone and your sense of direction. It's going to cost you relationships and friends. It's going to cost you being liked and understood. It doesn't matter. The people who are meant for you are going to meet you on the other side. You're going to build a new comfort zone around the things that actually move you forward. Instead of being liked, you're going to be loved. Instead of being understood, you're going to be seen. All you're going to lose is what was built for a person you no longer are." [06:25] Paul introduces Tom: Tom is 40 years old and lives in New Canaan, CT. He is a construction superintendent, is married and they have 5-year-old twins. For fun, Tom enjoys gold, skiing and spending time with his kids. Tom first drank at age 14 and says he frequently blacked out when he drank going forward. There were multiple legal consequences throughout his late teens and early twenties as his binge drinking continued through college. Around age 21, Tom began using cocaine which enabled him to drink more with less blackouts. After college, Tom and his friends mainly drank on the weekend. Fast forward a few years and he found himself drinking alone during the week while his friends did not. As time progressed, he would wake up daily and trash talk himself for not being able to stop at just one or two. He felt like Jekyll and Hyde and struggled with that throughout his 30's. In 2020, Tom's twins were born. He struggled to juggle his drinking life and his family life. His wife was growing frustrated, and Tom wasn't the parent that he had hoped he would be. In spite of this, he never really thought about quitting drinking, but quickly realized moderation didn't work. He knew he would need to quit drinking for himself and not just for his family. His wife was growing frustrated, and Tom knew he would lose everything if he didn't quit. On June 12th, 2024, Tom was going to start a new job and looked at it as a clean slate. He says quitting was awkward and he began to talk to an alcohol counselor that helped him a lot. Within the first few months Tom felt better physically and able to establish a workout routine which helped him start the day in a better headspace. He started listening to the RE podcast and relating to others' stories. Exercise has become a hobby for Tom. Woodworking is a hobby that has come back for Tom as well, he takes pride in the projects he completes now. Tom's parting piece of guidance: If you can make it through the first couple of days, and start to see the benefit, it'll get better every day. There'll be bad moments and challenging moments, but don't give up. Recovery Elevator Remember this is an inside job. It all starts from the inside out. I love you guys. Lesley Logan 0:01 Fuck yeah. Lesley Logan 0:05 Welcome to the Be It Till You See It podcast where we talk about taking messy action, knowing that perfect is boring. I'm Lesley Logan, Pilates instructor and fitness business coach. I've trained thousands of people around the world and the number one thing I see stopping people from achieving anything is self-doubt. My friends, action brings clarity and it's the antidote to fear. Each week, my guest will bring bold, executable, intrinsic and targeted steps that you can use to put yourself first and Be It Till You See It. It's a practice, not a perfect. Let's get started.Lesley Logan 0:47 Hello, Be It babe. How are we doing? Happy March 21st 2025. I'm practicing saying that because we are still recording these in January, because we've got stuff in February and things like that, that are going to get me out of town. I know I'm already back in town, but I'm getting ready to go out of town. That, such is the life we live. And so we must honor the time that we have. Lesley Logan 1:05 All right. So this episode is the time where we share something that's inspiring, that I saw online, that I'm like this just should inspire us all. We should all be so, like, this is amazing, very interesting to take note of. A win of yours, a win of mine, and a mantra. Really quick and simple. Lesley Logan 1:18 Okay, so this one came from @lifeotspectrum. I'm not really sure if it was like, oh, Life On The Spectrum. Duh, Lesley, get it together. OT. You know, usually they don't, usually put the T in the acronym, but there we go. So it says, point of view, your daughter is diagnosed with level two autism and asked for a party to tell her friends why she feels different. And I just think that's great. I think that's amazing. How beautiful is this child. She's like, oh, okay, I'm autistic. I'm gonna have a party so my friends can celebrate the differences in me. Brilliant, brilliant. You know, we should all have a party to celebrate our differences. Wouldn't that be so cool? So way to go. I believe her name is Ayla, and they said in the captions from Life On The Spectrum, like, slay queen, yes. And you know what's really funny? I don't think I would have thought of that, right? But it reminds me of I was getting my hair done, and I, finally, after six years, got a car, and it's a car I've wanted for a really long time. It's a really special car to me. It's a car that I've dreamed about. And I really, truly haven't had a vehicle. We have had the van, but I haven't had a car that can fit into a parking garage or, like, be valet or anything, for six years, and it hasn't gotten in the way, but it has. There's always a way around. There's like, another place to go to, but you have to go out of your way, right? And so when I showed her my car, she's like, you have to have a party for your car. And I was like, are you crazy? But actually she's not, because if I had been like Ayla, I could be like, I'm gonna do this. So Ayla, thank you so much for showing us that we can celebrate our uniquenesses with a party. And so maybe we should all do that. That's what we should all be doing. Lesley Logan 2:49 Okay, let's get to what your wins because it's so fun for you to hear your own win later on, after you've had it, in case you're having a day, and you're like, oh my goodness. And then you hear this, and you're like, oh, I had a win before. Yes, and also, and also for you listener, if you didn't send it in to see, like, what is possibly a win and how you might have had that in your life, right? So Melissa Capitano, on Wednesday, sent off my final payment to officially buy the studio from the previous owner. Still have some loans to pay off related to buying it, but I don't owe the seller anymore. Fuck yeah, that's amazing. It's so amazing to, like, make a final payment on something. You really have to celebrate that. How many of you have made a final payment on a credit card or on a student loan or on something and with red you know, one of these money coaches I listened to was just like, oh no, whenever you're paying a bill, you should do it from the highest light, from the highest place. So, Melissa, thank you for reminding us to do that. Lesley Logan 3:42 Kristin Salmans wrote, Contrology contacted me to write an article on the Spine Corrector and then emailed me again, asking to collaborate on a reel because of the ones I've done and tagged them in have been their best performing. Shocking on so many levels, and feeling honored and encouraged to keep doing what I'm doing. Didn't think any of that was in my strengths, but it's helped me to feel confident in areas I doubted myself. Also, Kim Young, as a motivator, using my Spine Corrector daily, wins all around. Isn't it so fun to get caught trying, just doing the thing, and then you get caught trying, and people see something in you, and it's, oh my God. Sometimes we have to have other people see something in us for us to go, I'm killing it. I'm doing a great job. So can't wait for your Contrology article to go out, Kristin, and I'm so happy you're loving your Contrology Spine Corrector. I love mine. It's one of my favorite things to be on. It's really, really beautiful. Lesley Logan 4:28 Okay, so a win of mine. I really want to highlight something, I think I mentioned it on a podcast that it's already come out, but I don't think I've celebrated it as a win with you guys. So on the last day of the tour. I mean, I guess I'd celebrate it with you. I talked about it on the podcast, but I just want to say I didn't actually celebrate it as a win, and I want to celebrate it as a win, because that's the message I preach. So on the last day of the tour, I had someone come up to me on the last event and and say, like, how do you have so much energy? And I have to say, a year before the winter tour, I did not end the year with a ton of energy, end of the year, not resentful or upset or like negative or not wanting to do what I do, nothing like that, but just kind of exhausted, a little whelmed, not overwhelmed or underwhelmed. Just okay, it's done, right? And her noticing that I had high energy at the end of a day, at the end of a long tour, after living out of a van for 36 days, there was a woman in me who was dancing with joy inside, because I was like, yes, you did it. And I will say that energy that she saw came from several wins compiled together. One of those is advocating for myself and finding some help with my hormones, which help with my sleep. Another is just years of continually keeping my practice up, and also boundaries, pretty strong ones that can annoy people sometimes. And I share this as a win because I knew I was doing all those things, and I even celebrated those ones along the way. You heard many of them, but it was really nice for someone outside to who it doesn't know me to see those things in me. And I was like, yes, because it's easy for us to get off of our own trains and off of our own dedications, and right before we could have had the outside validation to match the inside validation. Of course, the inside validation should be the only thing. But honestly, in a world of a lot of -ish, sometimes you need the outside validation to remind you that your inner validations is working. So I hope that makes sense. Anyways, essentially, my win is someone saw that I had the energy I've been working on getting and maintaining for a year ago, and it just made my day. Just made my day. And isn't that fun for something to make your day? It is for me. Lesley Logan 6:49 So, all right, let's pull a mantra. It's not even a mantra. This is, it's called The Deck and I actually have never, I know what I'm gonna pull. So, oh, this one's a, this one's a long, theirs are not mantras, because these are long. So here it is, and you can journal to it, right? We put the show notes of these podcasts out. You can journal to it. So, I embrace the mess my heart makes. It chooses to love. It chooses to feel. It chooses to wander far beyond the bounds of what seems like a logical decision. It risks being broken in order to stretch. It risks rejection in order to know the rush of being honest. It risks being wrong to see what might be right. So the mantra is, I embrace the mess my heart makes. And the journey to that is it chooses to love, it chooses to feel, it chooses to wander far beyond the balance of what seems like a logical decision. It risks being broken in order to stretch. It risks rejection in order to know the rush of being honest. It risks being wrong to see what might be right. What a beautiful poem. That's a poem for us today. Lesley Logan 7:55 All right, loves, Happy Friday. Send your wins in. I want to celebrate you. All right. Send them in just, to the Be It Pod, DM me, whatever. Let me know I can use it. I want to celebrate your win so you can hear them back and be reminded of the things that you're doing that are so great. Have an amazing day and until next time, Be It Till You See It. Hello friends! I hope March is starting off very well for you! What are you up to creatively?I see that I have been feeling better by creating.Late last year I decided to spend at least one hour per day in what I think of as "creative enjoyment." This is everything from taking a walk or hike – or over the last week or so, getting out to go skiing where I'm staying with my parents in the Colorado Rockies – to creating art, writing, making fun stuff! The rule has been that it's not about consuming somebody else's creations. It's about doing something creative from a place of enjoyment. Here's what I have been working on!This newsletter, Art Creativity & WellbeingA newsletter published in LinkedIn for leaders, The Heart of Leadership
Happy March my good people. I hope you're enjoying your 2025. You made it to March! Clap for yourself!
Happy March, everyone! Spring is still somehow 84 years away and we're reading Scot and Bothered by Alexandra Kiley. We got an ARC for this follow up to the Kilt Trip (episode 85), so if you're reading this, the book is out. Middle Sutherland son Jack fell in love with American student Brooke when they were at the University of Edinburgh, but a lot of things got in the way. Seven years later, the two of them are working on the same project. And that project involves hiking an 80-mile long trail over a period of two weeks. Can anyone say “only one tent?” Also Discussed: pickles, Kdot, and why we're not cut out for hiking Scottish trails.Up Next: The Neighbor Favor by Kristina ForestSOS Novella: Gagged by the Gherkin by Biblio BarbieWhat else we're reading:Scythe and Sparrow by Brynne Weaver (listening to it!)Until the Shadows Claim Her by Amber Thoma (3/14)The Sea-Ogre's Eager Bride by Ruby DixonSHOW INFORMATION: Join the DiscordFollow us on Spotify! This whole new series was birthed out of my mom season where I still want to share hope with the world. Hey, Soothers! Here's my Tarot reading for the month of March, for all readers. The cards had a very clear message for the month ahead: You are not alone, and your voice carries more weight than you realize. Spirit, ancestors, your higher self, whoever, are surrounding you, ready to assist—but they need you to ask. At the same time, this is not a moment to stay silent or shrink back. Your words, ideas, and truth matter. Whether it's speaking up for yourself, sharing your wisdom, or calling in the support you need, March is a time to embrace both the power of your voice and the deep well of guidance available to you.Watch the video or listen to the audio for guidance, assignments and ideas on how to do this. Happy March!

Brad Crowell 0:01 Fuck yeah. Lesley Logan 0:02 Get ready for some wins. Let's get started. Lesley Logan 0:47 Hello, Be It babe. Happy March 1st. Oh my goodness. Here we are. How fun was it to have a leap year this year? So you are here for the Fuck Yeah Friday episode, which means I'm going to share a win of yours and a win of mine and an affirmation to kick off your weekend with something amazing. So shout out to my mom it's her birthday weekend.Lesley Logan 1:07 So this one is from Lisa Osoteo and she said this is a special FYF because it falls on LL's birthday. Okay, pause. You guys, this is for the listeners, I'm obviously behind on sharing people's FYF. This is from January but we're getting all of them out there as they go. So this one is about my birthday. But here back to Lisa. Okay, so this is my win I thought LL's birthday was on January 24th. So I told my students let's do the Amy Cuddy power pose in honor of LL. They stood there with their hands on their hips owning their fierce. And I thought how cool that I'm part of a community who stands in a power pose with me without batting an eye. I told my class I was going to do 41 acts of kindness that day in honor of LL until my friend, Mandi, informed me that LL's birthday is actually Friday, January 26th and that maybe I should consider spreading out these acts over a few days say, over 41. Mandi is so smart. So now Mandi and I invite all of you to join in on 41 acts of kindness, silly, fun, Be It generosity movement, divine tantrum, humor, creativity, joy, and of course, love to celebrate LL. You can do your inspired action in however many days, 41, and share your unique list with LL. So happy birthday, LL, we love you. Well, Lisa, I love you, and Mandi so much. And actually this is coming out right before you arrive at my house for a retreat. And I can see you and Mandi at a retreat in Cambodia. Lesley Logan 2:32 All right, my win. So I had, two years ago, I had this vision of having a bunch of people in my house for a Pilates retreat. And that meant that they had to be eLevate alumni, which means that this dream was like so in the future because, I thought at least a lot in the future, because I needed to have several people to go through eLevate two and invite to the retreat. And so it took us three rounds of eLevate to get to enough people where I felt like okay, I can invite some. And we're having it here at my house and I pull in all of my equipment I can fit in the living room. And my win is just that. I didn't give up on a dream that's two years ago. And I did all the work that got to where we can make this happen. And my team is behind me all every step of the way. And my family too, because they had to help us move all this equipment out of the room. And so, just want to celebrate because sometimes I think we have these dreams and these visions from so many years ago and when they come to fruition we're just like, oh it just took so long instead of going oh my God, I did that. So that's happening starting tomorrow. So I'm really just so stoked about this win that I'm celebrating it for the people who arrived, but it's just, it's just incredible to sit here in that goal, oh my God, this was a goal from years ago. And I had to do so many different things to get this goal to even be a reality. And I'm so grateful I did it because Lisa is one of the people who is going to be there.Lesley Logan 4:03 All right, the affirmation that I have for you today is this: Sometimes the work is resting. Sometimes the work is resting. What does that mean? It means sometimes we needed to stop working so hard to make things happen and just rest, just sit still, just let it be. So maybe there's something that you've been trying to make happen, a win you've been trying to make happen and that's impossible. So maybe you sit still and close your eyes and visualize that having already happened. And that rest might be the answer. Lesley Logan 4:39 So thank you so much for listening to the Be It Pod. You are incredibly amazing. You are the reason why we get the guests that we get and we have so much love for you. And until next time, Be It Till You See It.Lesley Logan 4:51 That's all I got for this episode of the Be It Till You See It Podcast. Hi everyone! Happy March, happy Leap Year, and happy Eclipse Season! Get ready to buckle up those seat belts - we're going on a ride! March and April are significant months of 2024 because they ring in our first eclipse season. Eclipses are notorious for fated events, destined meetings, and profound shifts in our livelihood. If you have planets in the sidereal Pisces or Virgo, this will likely be a big year for you! Even if you don't have placements here, if you're in a Sun, Moon, Rahu, or Ketu dasha/sub dasha - this will likely impact you as well! In the podcast we discuss Mercury quite a bit, remember that Mercury is also TRAVEL. That said: if traveling, make careful travel plans this month... Happy March friends! We have an amazing lineup of guests on the show this month and I'm so excited for the episodes ahead. Today I sat down with Jinger Duggar Vuolo and discussed her new book, Becoming Free Indeed: My Story of Disentangling Faith from Fear. Truthfully, when I first heard of this book, I didn't think I would be interested. After several friends encouraged me to give it a read, I was shocked! This is no "tell all", but instead Jinger does an amazing job of pointing us to Jesus as the Gospel is woven through every page! Jinger Duggar Vuolo grew up on television from the young age of ten years old. For almost 18 years she appeared on TLC's reality show, 19 Kids and Counting. Jinger has always been vocal about her faith, even as she entered into adulthood and began the terrifying process of detangling everything she had ever been taught. As Jinger watched lifelong friends leave God and christianity altogether due to church hurt and leadership abuse, Jinger felt compelled to share her story of how detangling her rigid childhood teachings actually led her to freedom in Christ. In today's episode you'll hear more about Jinger's journey, what she's still learning to let go of, and how every morning she reminds herself of how loving and gracious our God is. I hope you're encouraged by listening and remember to go grab yourself a copy of her new book!Click here for all show notes
