Ned got away, leaving a fisherman's daughter pregnant - she called the child Jon. Davos can go to White Harbor but the Manderlys have thrown their lot in with the Freys. Six years later, House Velaryon faces a succession crisis when Lord Corlys Velaryon is seriously wounded in the Stepstones. Vaemond Velaryon petitions King's Landing to remove Lucerys as Corlys' heir, proclaiming him illegitimate. Rhaenyra and Daemon return to the capital with all their children to defend Lucerys' claim. They discover that King Viserys is now bedridden and all royal affairs are managed by Queen Alicent and Ser Otto in his stead. Alicent covers up her married son Aegon raping a handmaiden. When Vaemond arrives in the Red Keep, Rhaenyra proposes an arrangement to gain Princess Rhaenys' support. She also requests that her father defend her succession, quoting Aegon the Conqueror's dream. The next day, Otto Hightower hears Vaemond Velaryon's petition, who claims that Driftmark should pass to him. As Rhaenyra begins speaking, King Viserys arrives and declares Lucerys the heir to Driftmark. Enraged, Vaemond calls Rhaenyra's children bastards and is immediately decapitated by Daemon. That night, the Targaryens, Velaryons, and Hightowers attend a feast to mend their relations, but the princes start a fight. In this episode Ender is flying solo and bring you his breakdown and analysis of episode 6 of House of the Dragon The Princess and the Queen. Episode Summary: Ten years later, the Triarchy has reclaimed the Stepstones. Rhaenyra gives birth to her third child whom Ser Laenor names Joffrey. Queen Alicent notes the infant's hair, like his brothers Jacaerys and Lucerys, is brown rather than Targaryen silver. She presses King Viserys to acknowledge them as bastards with no claim to the throne, though he rebuffs this. Ser Criston, now loyal to Alicent, trains the princes in swordsmanship. Alicent scolds Aegon for pranking his younger brother Aemond, then says he must prepare himself to fight Rhaenyra for the throne. Prince Daemon and Lady Laena visit Essos with their daughters Baela and Rhaena, where the Prince of Pentos offers them a lordship in exchange for an alliance against the Triarchy. When pregnant Laena is unable to give birth, she commands her dragon Vhagar to burn her to death. To make peace, Rhaenyra proposes a marriage between her son Jacaerys and Princess Helaena, Alicent's daughter. Ser Lyonel Strong offers his resignation as Hand of the King over rumors that his son, Ser Harwin, fathered Rhaenyra's children. King Viserys refuses, but allows him to briefly travel to Harrenhal with Harwin, who will remain there. Ser Harwin's emotional farewell to Rhaenyra and her children implies he is their father. Alicent tells Larys Strong she wishes her father was still the king's Hand. At Harrenhal, Ser Lyonel and Harwin are killed in a fire orchestrated by Larys.

Episode 130:  King of the Narrow Sea features a family reunited as Daemon returns for his years long exile and war in the Stepstones and Rhaenyra gives up on the processional to find a consort.  But Daemon's return lights a spark in Rhaenyra at exactly the right (or wrong?) moment, interrupting her thoughts which are fixated on a life lived in the gilded cage of marriage into which she is being forced.  Passion, duty, power dynamics, and manipulation abound in this episode filled with outstanding performances and deft direction. Auch diese Woche geht es bei HOUSE OF THE DRAGON heiß her – und die Rede ist diesmal nicht von feuerspeienden Drachen, denn die kommen in der 4. Folge ziemlich kurz. Stattdessen geht es in alter GAME-OF-THRONES-Manier diesmal vor allem um Sex: Von Prostitution über erste Male und eheliche Pflichten bis hin zum (beinahe) Inzest ist alles dabei. Am Anfang der Folge kehrt Prinz DAEMON nach einem Sieg in den STEPSTONES als KING OF THE NARROW SEA zurück nach Hause, wo er von seinem Bruder VISERYS mit offenen Armen empfangen wird, nur um am Ende der selben Folge erneut verstoßen zu werden. Grund dafür ist der Ausflug von DEAMON und RHAENYRA in ein Bordell in FLEA BOTTOM, wo die beiden sich näher kommen, als VISERYS und uns allen lieb ist. Auch die erneuerte Freundschaft von ALICENT und RHAENYRA wird auf die Probe gestellt, als die Prinzessin von der neuen Gemahlin ihres Vaters nach ihren nächtlichen Eskapaden befragt wird. Dass ALICENT ihre eigenen Nächte mit dem König wenig Spaß bereiten, bleibt uns nicht verborgen – ebenso wenig, dass Sex und Ehe in HOUSE OF THE DRAGON oft wenig mit Liebe und dafür umso mehr mit Politik und Intrigen zu tun haben. Knowing Daemon only wants the marriage to gain the crown, the king exiles his brother back to the Vale. To avoid scandal, Viserys orders Rhaenyra to marry Ser Laenor Velaryon. The king dismisses Ser Otto as his Hand, realizing Otto has always manipulated him for his own personal gain. In this episode, we explore the Targaryen's political acumen seasoned with a bit of paprika incest and senior citizen on teenager love making. From the start, we get into Rhaenrya going on Tinder/Speeding dating to find a suitable mate followed by Daemon arriving back at Kings Landing on a seemingly good-will gesture after defeating the Crab Feeder at the Stepstones. However, we quickly realize this good-will gesture was nothing more than a ploy to bed and eventually wed Rhaenrya, his niece, for political power. Viserys, after years of only concentrating on his Lego set realizes there are vultures all around him, circling his dying corpse, including his Hand, Otto Hightower, who couldn't wait at the chance to tell Viserys of Daemon and Rhaenrya's wild night out in Flea Bottom. Realizing that Otto puts his own ambition and self interest over the realm, he fires Otto faster than Trump fired Omarosa. Meanwhile, Prince-Admiral Craghas Drahar, known as the Crab Feeder, menaces the Stepstones at the Triarchy's behest. The Small Council presses King Viserys to remarry and propagate his royal line, which risks Rhaenyra's succession status. Rhaenyra's suggestion to show force against Daemon is dismissed, and she is relegated to selecting a new knight for the King's Guard. She chooses the unpopular Ser Criston Cole. As Alicent Hightower continues comforting King Viserys at her father's urging, Lord Corlys Velaryon, husband to Princess Rhaenys, proposes his twelve-year-old daughter, Laena, marry the King. Daemon steals a dragon egg to goad Viserys into a confrontation at Dragonstone, but Otto Hightower goes instead. As bloodshed looms, Rhaenyra flies to Dragonstone on her dragon, Syrax, and retrieves the egg. Her disobedience angers the king, prompting a heartfelt discussion about Queen Aemma and his remarrying. Jaehaerys' grandchildren, Princess Rhaenys Targaryen and Prince Viserys Targaryen (Rhaenys' younger cousin) are the candidates. Westerosi law gives a male heir precedence over a female, regardless their birth order and Viserys is chosen. Nine years into King Visery I's reign, the Triarchy, an alliance formed by the free cities of Essos, threatens the kingdom, wanting to seize the Stepstones region. Viserys must also restrain his brother Daemon's brutality as the City Watch commander in King's Landing. Viserys, certain that pregnant Queen Aemma will bear him a son, holds a tournament to celebrate the impending birth. During the event, Dornish knight, Ser Criston Cole defeats Daemon in a competition while Queen Aemma and her son die in childbirth. The Hand of the King, Ser Otto Hightower, proposes that Viserys' only living child, the young princess Rhaenyra, be named heir to the Iron Throne. Ignoring others' advice, she chooses Ser Criston, the only knight with actual battle experience. Lord Corlys and his consort, Rhaenys, propose that Viserys unite their Valyrian houses through marriage with their twelve-year-old daughter, Laena Velaryon. The Small Council learns Daemon stole a dragon egg and intends to marry his mistress Mysaria as a second spouse. Ser Otto and a small detachment sail to Dragonstone to retrieve the egg. Rhaenyra follows on her dragon, Syrax, and forces Daemon to renounce his false claims and return the egg to her. Fire Will Reign Emotional Fantasy Music - Ice & Fire by Solas. House of the Dragon is an American fantasy drama television series that is a prequel to the television series Game of Thrones (2011–2019), both based on the A Song of Ice and Fire novels by George R. R. Martin. The prequel series was created by Martin and Ryan Condal for HBO and is based on portions of Fire & Blood. Condal and Miguel Sapochnik are showrunners for House of the Dragon. Set about 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones, the series chronicles the beginning of the end of House Targaryen, the events leading up to and covering the Targaryen war of succession, known as the "Dance of the Dragons". Season One, Episode One: The Heirs of the Dragon: In the last years of the reign of Jaehaerys Targaryen, the Old King, tragedies took the lives of his two eldest sons, Princes Aemon and Baelon, leaving the question of succession open. Faced with this situation, the king convened a Great Council where all the lords of Westeros would choose their future ruler. Two of Jaehaerys' grandchildren were candidates for succession, Princess Rhaenys Targaryen, wife of Lord Corlys Velaryon, the richest man at the time, and Prince Viserys Targaryen, Rhaenys' younger cousin and husband of Lady Aemma Arryn. By Westerosi law, a male descendant always comes ahead of a female descendant, causing Rhaenys to lose even though she was the oldest descendant of the king. Nine years later, King Viserys I reigns under the threat of the Triarchy, an alliance made by the free cities of Essos to obtain the region of Stepstones. In addition, Viserys has to deal with his brother Daemon Targaryen's misbehavior for practicing brutality against criminals in King's Landing in command of the City Watch. Queen Aemma dies during childbirth along with her newborn son, who would be Viserys' heir. The Queen's death occurred during the tournament held for the Prince's birth, where Ser Criston Cole defeated Daemon. The Hand of the King, Ser Otto Hightower, suggests that Viserys name his only living child, the young princess Rhaenyra, as heir to the Iron Throne instead of Daemon.
