House of the Dragon is back... and after a divisive second season, Season 3 is finally bringing the fire! The first two episodes feature phenomenal pacing, outstanding action, and some of the biggest moments we've seen since the series began. That said, we don't think everything is perfect. While the spectacle has reached new heights, some of the characters don't feel quite as layered or emotionally compelling as they did in previous seasons. They're far from one-dimensional, but many of the personal conflicts and relationships haven't resonated with us as strongly as they once did. Even with those criticisms, we're having a fantastic time watching this season unfold. These first four episodes have us genuinely excited to see how the Dance of the Dragons reaches its conclusion, and we can't wait to see where the remaining episodes take Rhaenyra, Alicent, Daemon, Aegon, Aemond, Corlys, and the rest of Westeros.
