House of the Dragon Season 3 Finale: The Treasons at TumbletonMary and James wrap up the final episode of House of the Dragon season 3 with a mix of praise, frustration, and a lot of dragon-related chaos. They break down the finale's biggest turns, from Rhaenyra hardening into full war mode to the destruction at Tumbleton and the emotional collapse of multiple characters. This episode is mostly a heated discussion of the finale's pacing, character motivations, and whether the season's ending choices actually worked. Mary and James also reflect on how the season set up season 4, and which claimants to the throne still feel believable.Key topicsIn this episode, Mary and James open by judging the finale as a strong episode, even if not the best of the season. They compare standout moments across the season, including the Battle of the Gullet and Aegon and Sunfyre's reunion. They debate whether the finale rushed Helena's story and Aegon's turn toward brutality.Rhaenyra's reaction to Aegon's return becomes a major turning point, especially as she leans further into prophecy, symbolism, and violence. They dig into Rhaenyra sending Mysaria away, reading it as either self-protection, mistrust, or damage control.Corlys, Baela, and Alyn all get attention as the discussion covers loyalty, inheritance, and the tension between family and survival. The Harrenhal storyline gets a deep dive, including Alys Rivers' tragic backstory and the history of the castle itself.Helena's confinement, hunger strike, visions, and eventual death are discussed as one of the finale's most confusing and emotional arcs. The Tumbleton battle dominates the second half, including Ormund's strategy, Hugh's betrayal, the army's breach of the city, and the collapse of the defense. A bold, immersive, and conversation-starting adaptation that the hosts both admire and dissect.Social Media:https://www.instagram.com/watchthatjawn/https://www.tiktok.com/@watchthatjawnpodc

SPOILER ALERT! Rhaenyra wanted to be anointed queen, so naturally she killed the High Sept and may have started a full religious war. Great plan. No notes. In our spoiler-filled recap of House of the Dragon Season 3 Episode 8, the season finale, we break down Rhaenyra's mad-queen spiral, Daemon calming her down with High Valyrian prophecy therapy, Baela finally calling her out, Alyn stepping up, and the disastrous decision to execute the one guy who could actually crown her. We also talk Helaena's tragic final scenes, the white horse vision, the butterfly imagery, Rhaenyra force-feeding her sister, Mysaria getting fired and escaping, Aegon rising with Sunfire, Ormond's brutal end, Roddy the Ruin going out in a blaze of glory, and Ulf being possibly the worst dragon rider in Westeros. Plus: Rachel's top characters of the season, Ormond Hall of Fame talk, Daeron getting knighted, Gwayne serving Daeron the Daring, Corlys' loyal Velaryon badasses, Rhaenyra's terrible public prophecy speech, Team Green chaos, Team Black incompetence, and the pain of waiting two years for more dragons. We gaan er dit seizoen uit met een knal. Of meerdere knallen tegen verschillende hoofden. E finalmente arriviamo a Tumbleton. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

House of the Dragon is back... and after a divisive second season, Season 3 is finally bringing the fire! In this episode of SuperHero Homies, we break down the first four episodes of House of the Dragon Season 3, discussing the biggest battles, character arcs, political intrigue, dragon action, pacing, theories, and everything that has us excited for the rest of the season. While we had plenty of criticisms of Season 2, these opening episodes feel like a major step in the right direction. The story is moving, the battles are spectacular, and the Dance of the Dragons finally feels like it's building toward the epic conclusion we've been waiting for. FULL SPOILER DISCUSSION This episode contains full spoilers for House of the Dragon Season 3 Episodes 1-4. In This Episode We Discuss: Our full House of the Dragon Season 3 review Why Season 3 feels much stronger than Season 2 The incredible pacing of the opening episodes Massive battle sequences and dragon action The political maneuvering between rival factions Character motivations and shifting alliances Which characters impressed us the most Why some of the cast feels less complex than previous seasons Our favorite scenes and biggest surprises The strongest action set pieces so far What still isn't working Predictions and theories for the rest of Season 3 Who we think survives... and who probably won't One of our biggest takeaways is that House of the Dragon has recaptured much of the excitement that made us fall in love with this world. The first two episodes feature phenomenal pacing, outstanding action, and some of the biggest moments we've seen since the series began. That said, we don't think everything is perfect. While the spectacle has reached new heights, some of the characters don't feel quite as layered or emotionally compelling as they did in previous seasons. They're far from one-dimensional, but many of the personal conflicts and relationships haven't resonated with us as strongly as they once did. Even with those criticisms, we're having a fantastic time watching this season unfold. These first four episodes have us genuinely excited to see how the Dance of the Dragons reaches its conclusion, and we can't wait to see where the remaining episodes take Rhaenyra, Alicent, Daemon, Aegon, Aemond, Corlys, and the rest of Westeros. Whether you're a longtime Game of Thrones fan, a reader of Fire & Blood, or simply following HBO's biggest fantasy series, this episode is packed with in-depth analysis, theories, predictions, and spoiler-filled discussion. Jason and Rosie cover a packed episode: Criston Cole is killed in the Riverlands by Black Aly (Alicent Blackwood), Alicent and Helaena are pulled from the Red Keep's walls, and the small council splits over torching Tumbleton, with Daemon and Rhaenyra clashing hard. On this episode of Story Archives, Mario and Zach review S3, E6 Titled 'Faceless Men', in which the guys admire Rhaenyra's brilliant decision making and her absolutely effective repeated convos w/ Alicent. We also get a feel for what Alys is really aiming to do with Aemond, see an incredibly heart-warming reunion between Ser Hugh and his wife who was absolutely delighted to see him. We join Ser Ulf for some brews at the pub and Daemon as he takes a stroll with his incredibly dutiful gold cloaks. Over in Tumbleton, Ormund continues his really great job of raising Daeron and welcomes his cousin with open arms, whose just as happy to see him. Oh, and Corlys is definitely not captured by the dude with the bowl cut who definitely didn't magically teleport across Westeros with the perfect intel to grab him. Did I mention Baela is in deep mourning over Jace and taking a solemn oath of fidelity and abstinence? The conversation covers the moral and tactical questions around Ormond's garrison strategy, the disturbing picture the show is building of who Ormond really is and what his hold over Daeron reveals about power and abuse, and Corlys once again putting his own agenda ahead of everyone depending on him. The episode closes with Military Corner, David's new segment breaking down the battlefield positions of the Blacks and the Greens and what the uncommitted forces in the Stormlands could mean for the war ahead.Contact UsQuestions or comments? George Washington Rises, Westeros Crawls, and Jubilee Steals the Damn Show This week on the podcast, Brian and Darryl talk Young Washington, a good but slower week for House of the Dragon, and the absolute mutant madness of X-Men '97 Season 2. Spoiler alert: Jubilee is bad ass, and the boys are very much here for it. Episode Index Intro: 0:07 Supergirl/Sony Catchup: 4:50 Young Washington: 24:31 House of the Dragon (Season 2 Episode 3): 31:46 X-Men ’97 (Season 2 Episodes 1-4): 40:49 Supergirl and Sony Follow-Up Supergirl gets a quick follow-up after last week's conversation, with the focus on whether the new DCU is starting to build real momentum or still asking fans to trust the larger plan. There are pieces that could work, but the bigger question is whether those creative choices are actually landing yet. Sony's continued move away from physical media raises bigger questions for collectors, gamers, and fans who still care about owning what they buy. As entertainment keeps shifting toward digital libraries and platform control, the concern becomes whether fans are buying permanent access or just renting permission. Young Washington Release Date: July 3, 2026 Runtime: 122 minutes Director: Jon Erwin Writers: Jon Erwin, Tom Provost, and Diederik Hoogstraten Based On: The early life and military career of George Washington during the French and Indian War Studios: Wonder Project, 2521 Entertainment, 10 Ton Productions, and Red 56 Distributor: Angel Studios Summary: Young Washington follows George Washington before he became the Father of the Nation, focusing on his early military failures, his ambition, and the frontier conflict that helped shape the man he would become. The film tracks Washington as he is pulled into the French and Indian War, forced to deal with shifting alliances, dangerous mistakes, and the brutal reality of leadership before he is truly ready for it. Main Cast: William Franklyn-Miller as Young George Washington Mary-Louise Parker as Mary Washington Kelsey Grammer as Lord Fairfax Andy Serkis Ben Kingsley Production Notes: Directed and co-written by Jon Erwin, Young Washington arrives as a historical war drama built around the making of George Washington rather than the myth of George Washington. The film leans into the mistakes, pressure, and survival instincts of a young man caught in a conflict much bigger than himself. A sequel titled 1776 is already in development, continuing Washington's story into the American Revolution. Rating, Out of 10 Pawns Really Have a Way of Taking Down a King Brian: 8/10 Darryl: DWN House of the Dragon (HBO / Max) House of the Dragon, Season 3 Episode 3 Title: Rhaenyra Triumphant Air date: July 5, 2026 Based On: Fire & Blood by George R. R. Martin Created By: Ryan Condal and George R. R. Martin Summary: Rhaenyra's hold on King's Landing is already starting to look more fragile than victorious. The city is starving, the treasury is gone, and ruling from the Iron Throne is proving to be very different from claiming it. While Rhaenyra tries to stabilize her rule, Daemon pushes for harsher action, Corlys fights for the future of his family, and the supposed Daeron situation becomes another political mess inside an already broken war. The episode is good, but slower this week, spending more time on fallout, legitimacy, and court tension than dragon fire or battlefield momentum. It is very much a table-setting episode, but the pieces it moves could matter a lot as the Dance keeps getting uglier. Main Cast: Emma D'Arcy as Rhaenyra Targaryen Matt Smith as Daemon Targaryen Olivia Cooke as Alicent Hightower Steve Toussaint as Corlys Velaryon Rhys Ifans as Otto Hightower Ewan Mitchell as Aemond Targaryen Tom Glynn-Carney as Aegon II Targaryen Rating out of 5, Fake Targaryens Does Not a Fun Episode Make Brian: 3.4/5 Darryl: 3.25/5 X-Men '97 (Disney+) X-Men '97, Season 2 Episodes 1-4 Air date: Season 2 premiered July 1, 2026, with new episodes releasing weekly on Disney+ Episode 4 Title: Rise of Apocalypse – Part II Based On: Marvel Comics' X-Men and X-Men: The Animated Series Developed By: Beau DeMayo Summary: X-Men '97 Season 2 picks up after the chaos of Season 1 by throwing the team into an even bigger, weirder, and more comic-book-ass corner of mutant history. With the X-Men scattered across time and Apocalypse looming large over the season, the show wastes no time going huge with the stakes, the emotion, and the deep-cut Marvel madness. Through the first four episodes, this season is already firing on all cylinders. The action is big, the character work is sharp, and the show continues to understand exactly why people love the X-Men. Jubilee, in particular, comes out looking like an absolute bad ass, bringing the kind of energy that makes this feel like peak Saturday morning cartoon nostalgia smashed together with modern serialized storytelling. Main Voice Cast: Ray Chase as Cyclops Jennifer Hale as Jean Grey Cal Dodd as Wolverine Lenore Zann as Rogue George Buza as Beast Alison Sealy-Smith as Storm A. J. LoCascio as Gambit Holly Chou as Jubilee Production Notes: X-Men '97 continues the legacy of X-Men: The Animated Series while pushing the story into darker, stranger, and more ambitious territory. Season 2 is leaning hard into time displacement, Apocalypse, mutant survival, and big emotional swings, while still keeping the colorful, fast-moving, comic-book energy that made Season 1 such a monster hit. Rating Episode 1-4 out of 10, Character Assassination Does Not Exist In the Danger Room, Does it! House of the Dragon S3E3 Review: SPOILER ALERT Rhaenyra has King's Landing… but she might also be losing her mind. This week on Thumb War, we break down House of the Dragon Season 3 Episode 3, aka what Rachel calls Rhaenyra's Unraveling. The Red Keep is haunted, the music is screaming, everyone is starving, Corlys is furious, Daemon wants to burn the world down, and Rhaenyra decides the best way to win over the nobles is to serve them a beautiful feast of rats. Rachel loved the episode's descent into Targaryen madness. Jason thinks the show keeps cutting away from the exact moments we need to see — especially when dragons are involved. We get into the Ormund Hightower standoff, Alicent and Rhaenyra's weird little soul connection, whether Team Black is falling apart, and why someone needs to make a Downton Abbey-style House of the Dragon episode set entirely in the Red Keep kitchen.
