SEO for decades has been thought of as an increasingly complex element of marketing to grow your company. But in this groundbreaking book, by Eli Schwartz, we uncover the human and artistic side of growth. Eli's hypothesis is that good SEO is not derived by throwing money and content at a search engine algorithm, but it's created by taking the right intention and building a great product. Product-led SEO is driven by listening to the needs of the customers you serve and delivering solutions that drive growth. Eli is an SEO expert and consultant with more than a decade of experience working for leading B2B and B2C companies. Eli’s strategies have generated millions of dollars in revenue for some of the internet’s top websites. He has helped clients like Shutterstock, WordPress, Blue Nile, Quora, and Zendesk execute highly successful global SEO strategies. As head of SurveyMonkey’s SEO team, Eli oversaw the company’s global operations, helped launch the first Asia-Pacific office, and grew the company’s organic search from just 1 percent of revenue to a key driver of global revenue. Eli’s work has been featured by TechCrunch, Entrepreneur.com, and Y Combinator, and he has given talks at business schools and keynoted conferences around the world. In this episode, Eli thoughtfully shares with us insights and strategies from his book, Product-Led SEO. Listen to this episode and learn about:Eli giving credit and thanks to his wife, Shawna (3:58)Being collaborative over technical (7:10)SEO as a long-term life learning strategy (11:15)SEO for product teams not marketing teams (14:36)Examples of product-led SEO (17:32)AI as an impediment to product-led SEO (20:25)Consultants versus full-time employees (23:23)Investing in SEO strategy (28:10)The first step to learning SEO (33:12)Red ocean versus blue ocean SEO (36:37)How Eli is investing in others (40:45) Links:Connect with Eli on Linkedin - https://www.linkedin.com/in/schwartze/Product-Led SEO - https://www.elischwartz.co/product-led-seo/

Welcome to today’s show!   WHAT WE’LL LEARN:   How Eli’s deepest roots shaped his identity in the world in a very orthodox Jewish community in New York called Crown Heights. How his childhood felt “very unsafe.” As he was growing up he started to group people as “safe” and “unsafe.” When an older community boy took advantage of him sexually,  Eli unconsciously held onto two deep seated beliefs that followed him throughout his life. Eli felt if he had money it would solve all his problems. At age 23, Eli had hit all these monetary and business goals and he believed all his problems would go away, and the opposite happened. Eli shared, “It was a shattering of a lie.” Eli  talks about feeling “pure sadness” and how getting in touch with that emotion was crucial to his recovery. About 5 years into therapy Eli met with his abuser and that day changed his life. Shame is a fear of not being worthy of connection. Why support groups are so effective. What would Eli write on a billboard for all to see. Hello Couragemakers! I couldn't be happier to be sharing the conversation I had with today's guest. This week I'm talking with wonderful human who is Eli Trier. Eli is a community builder for Quiet Revolutionaries. She helps introverts with big dreams to get connected and build thriving, engaged communities around their businesses, so that they can make a massive impact, find their dream clients, and make their corner of the world a better place. She specialises in creating powerful, strategic online community projects and loves every minute of her work (even the boring bits). Eli lives in the wonderful city of Copenhagen, Denmark and when she's not working you can find her curled up with a book, painting, or hanging out with her husband Lars. Eli's runs the group program love>numbers group programme which is all about getting connected and building a network of your right people. Applications are currently open - you can find out more by visiting https://elitriercommunities.com/lovenumbers In this week's episode, we're talking all about Eli's journey to showing up fully in all her, what she calls Wibbly-Wobbly, Wonky Glory. Eli shares her journey from struggling with crippling anxiety to helping people build authentic communities, her story of being diagnosed wth autism in her thirties, and her decision she made two years ago to only talk to herself with compassion and like her own best friend. We have a great conversation about boundaries and how having such firm boundaries around her time and energy are what allows her to show up fully, how self compassion and self-kindness are Eli's superpowers and how to find your people. I've been thinking a lot over the past couple of years, about the sustainability piece when it comes to creating a life you love and Eli's wisdom and practical examples around her own boundaries is seriously inspiring and helpful. If you're someone who wants to show up more as your imperfect self, wants to find your people and wants to find a way to show yourself more compassion and kindness instead of being your own biggest dreamshitter, this is the episode for you! Eli is an absolute powerhouse, I love her enthusiasm, her values and her energy. She is simply contagious. Here's to showing up in full in all our wibbly-wobbly, wonky glory and making the world a brighter place!
