It's Not About the Money: In Search of Grounded Fundraising

It was our pleasure to host Jeff and Kat P. for the recap of Andy C.'s episode. Through powerful imagery and key stories from the life of Jesus, they unpack their own journey of waiting on the Lord with vulnerability and wisdom. I (Heather) have watched Kat and Jeff weather the storm and have seen both their faithfulness to obey and His faithfulness to provide. We are so blessed to share this conversation with our listeners. Don't miss the special salutation from our youngest podcast guest to date as we wrap up the episode!

When you have too much demand (you're booked out too long), raising your price will lower demand. Sounds bad. Is good. When we work less and make more, we can scale. And there's always someone willing to pay our prices. A good time to know when it's time to raise those prices are when you're feeling burnt out and overworked.  In the Business of Baking, Corrie covers a lesson she learned this week on mitigating problems, alleviating order fail points, and eliminating bad clients. We talk about member Lori who reworked her entire business model to get her business to work for her - not against her. It's awesome. We'll be launching the SCM Course in August (you can pre-register for the sign-up email here). Heather covers how you can use Google Calendars to streamline your business, stop forgetting things, and have more time for less work. WHOA, guys - this isn't our best work, but I'll be darned - it's finally on time. It's the weekly Sugar Cookie Marketing Facebook Group Podcast, and it's just okay! Anyways - she texted me (Heather) this past weekend to not ask questions, get in the car, tell no one, and dress up - pretty positive she was going to murder me, but was also lookin' out for the photo the news would post of the body. ANYWAYS - what actually happened was tons better. In the Marketing Minutes, I (Heather) recapped the story about SouthWorst bumping me from the flight I paid for a month prior and still taking my luggage and making me pay for that ticket and the rebooked flight. They did offer me 20% off the rebook though which is not ideal since at this point, I wanted nothing to do with that airline. None of this is true, but it's how you sound when you don't refund a client for your mistakes. We'll be launching the SCM Course in August (you can pre-register for the sign-up email here). Leslie guides her clients through a three-month intensive called the Unshakeable Leadership program. She bases her method on what she defines as the three P’s - Personality, Pleasure and Profits. Do you know your true enneagram number? By tapping into your enneagram personality type, you can unlock a deeper understanding of yourself. This inner wisdom can improve your sales and leadership skills. Turns out Leslie and I (Heather, host) are both enneagram eights. In the spirit of Eights, we go to some raw and vulnerable places during this conversation. If you’ve listened to other podcasts about the enneagram, get ready for a fresh, new approach. Amy Hanneke RD, aka @SatisfyNutrition IG, has experienced some major career moves since we last talked. On her first episode of RD Real Talk (67: IE Stories in Clinical Nutrition), she was working in clinical nutrition and living in rural southern Idaho. She went on to leave her clinical post, set up a booming private practice in Denver, CO, and eventually decided to close up shop and move, again. If you’re interested in setting up your own weight-inclusive, non-diet private practice, check out Pursuing Private Practice-Intuitive Eating, a robust course led by Jennifer McGurk. I (Heather) used it in setting up my own practice! This is an affiliate link. We don’t hear much about the whole private practice, especially the nitty gritty of getting things set up, but more so the tough decision to leave the business world, and become an employee again. All of these choices are deeply personal, and Amy gets real about why this was right choice for her. She also takes us into the world of Satisfy Nutrition, sharing some behind-the-scenes info about her social media world. Another essential resource to both mine and Amy’s private practice: SimplePractice. SimplePractice is an Electronic Health Record for dietitians that provides flexible formatting for show notes, practice documents (templates for Release of Information, Policies, and billing), scheduling, and secure video conferencing!
