I want to share with you a couple of things and I’ll give you an update on my goals for those you don't know I'm going to reach for them - I have posted them this time, these are my goals and I'm going to be sharing them at #D2DCareers and I'm going to give you an update in a minute. Also, want to do a mini class on mindset. We’re going to talk about pray it, believe it, and receive it, and then a preview of my Manifest Your 6-Figure Dream Job Self-Study Program that I am launching at the beginning of March. So, I hope you can join me! I'm going to invite some of my friends to come and join us as we sit here and gather together. So, update on my goals - so this year what I did is, I broke them down, and so my vision versus a vision board is to be fit and to get 350k in sales in my business, and my bucket list. And so, what does that mean? So be fit for me is financially fit, it is physically fit, emotionally and mentally fit, not just from a physical standpoint. And so today is the 22nd, and I have actually worked out about 20 days out of 22 days, and so I am really proud of that I worked out that amount. And so, I feel like it makes it easier to get to work out, just simply because of the fact that I don't have to get up in the morning and go and work outside of the home. I have more flexibility of my time, and I have the ability to reset my schedule at the end of the day when my days should start and so for that I am grateful. The second thing is emotionally and mentally. I will tell you to be honest, and transparent, I have not kept up with my emotional standpoint with my journaling, not as well as I like to, and taking and setting aside time in the morning to do that, and so that's one of the things I think that I have really had to get going with is my journaling. So, I'm not sure if any of you have been journaling along with me, but definitely, if you have, I'd like to know how you’ve been doing with it, and how you kept up with it, or what challenge you're having with it as well. If you watch this later on when it's a recording and it's not live any longer, feel free at the end of the day to respond, because I want to do what's necessary not only to help you but also to help me because I found it challenging. So, my other goal is my 350k in sales. And so really this tonight is in part to share with you a little bit about that course, and so my prayer and hope is that what I find is, is that the coaching that I offer that everyone can take advantage of it, that everyone really wants to do one on one coaching, and some people have a different price point. So, the next goal is my bucket list. And so, I have plans in place to accomplish some of those things on my bucket list. And so, I am an avid reader, as you could tell probably from my background, but and that's back there, I'm an avid reader, and I would say I love the library. So, one of the things that I decided for myself was, that I was going to visit all the presidential libraries that we have, and so I have plans to visit three of them by the middle of the year. It's not my intention to do this all at once, but it is definitely my intention to get it done in the next few years. The next thing is to go to the beach on a quarterly basis. I might have plans to go home on Mother's Day to visit my mom. We will be in California and in Hawaii in June and have some other plans as well for the rest of the year. So, I am getting my traveling in, I'm getting my bucket list items in, and girlfriend is busy! So, I'm not sure - I would love to hear how you are doing with your goals and your plans and vision on your resolutions for this year as well as we both - all of us jointly together pray for one another that we would continue that we would just continue with what plans that we've laid before us for 2019. And so let’s embark on the mini class on this has been on my heart and I actually wrote this note and I find that when I'm in church I have a saying it is “good meat makes its own gravy”, and so when I am getting a good word, typically I am able to write down some thoughts and it triggers, so if the minister and the pastor is talking about a sometimes it will take me to B and C and D and then I just keep going with whatever word that is. And so, I hope you receive this, and not just as I give it to you, but that you would take it from here and go to B, C, and D, and implement it in some way shape or form in your life. And so, it's about mindset, because this year for me my word for 2019 is “forward”, and so everything that I want to do and accomplish is all about moving forward. And so, pray it, believe it, and receive it. In Mark chapter 11 verse 24, we find these words - and I'm going to read it in two versions - first in the NIV: “Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have it, receive it, and it will be yours.” and then an amplified version: “For this reason I am telling you, whatever things you ask for in prayer [in accordance with God’s will], believe [with confidence and trust] that you will have them, you will receive them, and they will be given to you.” Amen? So, let me read that again “Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have it, receive it, and it will be yours.” “Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have it, receive it, and it will be yours.” And so first, the thing is that we have to think about is we have to pray, and so for those of you who have been following me you know that prayer and meditation in journaling over the scriptures is very key. I have written a book about prayer in a devotional Journal entitled “Real Girlfriends Pray Devotional Journal” which is a 21-Day activity to help you to establish a habit of prayer, journaling, and meditating. And so that's where we start every single day, and prayer doesn't have to be something that you make a big effort to do. Literally, you can pray to your windshield! It is something that I believe so strongly in is praying to my windshield and so you too can do that you can pray to your windshield. You can pray in the bathtub, you can pray in the shower, you can pray when you are waiting at a red light for it to turn green, you can pray right before you go to bed or right when you wake up in the morning, you can pray when you're riding the bike at the gym, or when you are exercising, when you're doing weights, when you're on the treadmill, when you're on the elliptical, when you're on the stair machine, whatever it is you are doing when you are folding clothes, when you are putting clothes away, you can pray. I believe that prayer without ceasing is what God wants us to do. It helps with our mindset, and it helps to get our mind right. Then once you pray it, whatever it is that you pray, believe that it will happen, believe that it will come to pass, believe that it is possible, and it will happen, but you got to believe it. Scripture tells us “I believe, but help thou my unbelief” so what does that mean? That really means is that we wholeheartedly on the surface want to believe, but we also know that sometimes we doubt God's possibilities and God's gifts that he has stored up for us. But I ask you wholeheartedly that you would believe without ceasing, and without fail, and then we say receive it, so once you pray it, once you believe it, then you got to receive it. And so, let me break it down to you this way. It's as if you say that you want a new car. You're driving a car already, and you're going to have to turn that car in. I have a friend of mine that did this very thing. She prepared herself for the new car, so she knew she wasn't sure exactly how was going to work out, but what she did and she got up in the morning, she cleaned out her car inside and out, cleaned out all of her personal belongings, so that when she went to the car dealer, not knowing what the answer was going to be - whether she be able to get the car not - she made herself ready to receive it. And so that's what God wants from you, God wants you to be ready to receive his Blessing, and so if you say if you're single, and you say I really, really want to get married, I really want a blessed man who believes in God, who goes to church, who has a good job, or whatever it is that you desire, then you got to make yourself ready to be the kind of woman that the man is that you desire. So, you've got to make yourself ready for that at the end of the day, and you got to let go of baggage that's associated with preventing you from being available to receive that gift if that's what you desire, and God wants for you. And so, I don't know what it is that you've been praying about, what you need to believe, but you also need to make yourself ready. For example, if you live in an apartment and you lived in an apartment for a long time, do you have the money saved for a house? Have you thought about it? Have you gotten prequalified for a loan? Have you reached out to a real estate agent? So, you’ve got to make yourself ready for that to happen. Amen, somebody? Somebody say Amen! So again, Mark 11:24 “Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have it, receive it, and it will be yours.” And finally, I want to share with you a little bit about my class, and so I have notes prepared so I can stay on track. So, what I am launching, and this I cannot even believe that I have put this together just for you. And it is Manifest Your 6-Figure Dream Job Self-Study System. And what it is is you might say to yourself “I don't want to dream job” or “that's not what I'm looking to do”. Then Discovery and rediscovery. So discovering or rediscovering what it is that you are passionate about, the thing that you would do without pay. And it is where your skill, your dreams, and your ability meet, and in the middle, it is the one thing… the one thing… the one thing that you can get paid to do. That you can get paid to do. Then it's Targeted Focus. So, it's going to focus on that one job, it's going to focus on a list of companies that meet your expectations, what you desire in a culture, and that's going to allow you to thrive, and to flourish, to be prosperous, and to utilize your gifts, and to add value back to the world. And then number four, it is a six-figure building block. So all the building blocks that you need, your elevator speech, your resume, your one-pager, your thank-you notes, your follow-up, how your LinkedIn page should look. All of those things to ensure that you have all of the tools, your calling card as well, and then how you get to show up like a professional that you know you are. And then we'll walk through the process of creating an intentional Focus action plan just for you. And so, all of this is outlined in 5 easy steps in Manifest Your 6-Figure Dream Job self-study system. And so, this is a proven system for spiritually minded professionals who are ready to land six-figure dream jobs with purpose and prosperity faster than they ever thought possible. I say make today a Dare2Dream Day. Not just this day, but every day. I have a couple of things I just want to pop in and share with you. The first is, of course, happy Thursday, the second thing is, is that this morning I had prayer! I don't know if you were able to make it or not, but I want to tell you I'm inviting you every single Thursday morning at 7 a.m. And I'll check to see if anyone logs in at 7 p.m., but I'm not necessarily going to advertise 7 p.m. unless it's one of those days where I'm traveling west and can't make the 7 a.m. prayer. But if you pop on, I will join you there at 7 p.m. So today I talked about being enough, and not just enough, but more than enough that we are more than enough. God enables us to do so many wonderful things because of His word, and I want to share with you just a couple of scriptures that I shared this morning, and then I want to share with you two special things if that's okay. So, first in Genesis 1:27 we find these words and I'm reading my notes so please forgive me if I'm looking directly at you in the screen. “So God created mankind in His own image, in the image of God He created them; male and female He created them.” And then in Psalm 139:16 we find these words “Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.” Isn't that amazing? That God already had ordained all of our days, and they were written down before we ever even came into being. And then I'll just give you another little peek - in 1st Peter 2:9 says “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God's special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of the darkness into the marvelous light.” And if this isn't proof that you are not just enough, but you are more than enough, for whatever is coming at you, coming to you, whatever is for you, know that you will rise to it, on this and every day, because God says in his word that it is true, and whatever is in his word, it is so. So, know that going forward no matter what, you or are not only enough, but you are more than enough. And so, I want to share with you a couple of things. It is a season of wishes and making wishes come true. And that is exactly what I hope to be able to do for you, I call My People, My Tribe, those who are out there daring to dream each and every day. Those who have followed me, those who have responded to calls, those who have encouraged me with words, I want to encourage you just a little bit right now. Plan for your 2019, that you're able to have your best year ever. Best year ever in 2019. Because that's what I'm hoping for myself, and I really want nothing less than that for you. So, I'm going to let you in on a secret, next year I am claiming it right now in 2018 - 2019 will be my best year ever. 2019 is the year of my best year ever! And I hope that you're able to go along on the journey with me. So, let me tell you why making wishes come true is so important. Just like last week, I was with a client, we were in a coaching session online, and she said to me that she wished she had had this information last year, or even earlier this year. And so, then I remark to myself I wish that I had someone to work with me as I work with my clients, to help them achieve their dream jobs sooner than they could on their own. And I do concur with that. And so, her which was literally in our conversation, that she could have had this sooner. So, my wish for you is that you can have it sooner than you thought. I am glad that I am here, and I just figured I'd pop in to say hello, and drop a little bit of what I've been thinking about and what was happening. So, I was just looking at my own goals for this year. Glad you could join! And I want to just jot down 6 things, 6 things to help you achieve your goals in 2019. We have the entire year, but I don't want you to let what happened last year happen again for you this year. 1 - Set A Goal That You Want To Achieve. It’s so much easier when it's something that we really want to do. And so, for me, if you've been watching me go live, and you've been looking at some of my posts, I have three big goals this year, and they are, to be fit (which is a bunch of things), goals related to my business, and also goals related to my bucket list. And so, I have been reviewing those on a weekly basis to help make it happen, and so first, you got to create some goals that you want to achieve. 2 - Assess How You Will Get There. Figure it out. What are the steps? What are the big milestones to getting there? And so, I'll share with you that one of my big goals is to improve my health. But that's just too generic. Literally, it comes down to BMI, it comes down to weight, and it comes down to all of your healthy numbers. Considering that, then you say how do I move the needle from where I am, to where I want to be, and then that's a real goal. And so, setting the exact result that you're looking for, and also setting a time. 3 - Make It SMART. I know you probably heard this before if you don't know what it is, I'm telling you Google is my friend. And smart really is that it’s specific. But I also read something recently that said that smart is just not it's not just that, it's not just specific as the first word, but it is also written and measured, and so this is what makes it smart. And you're measuring your progress along the way, and so if I move the needle just a little bit, so I'll say I weigh myself today, and I lost 3 lbs., and so I'm taking the ground that I made, and I am happy about it. ! How are you? Good to see you! The next thing is, it must be attainable. It must be something that you can really do. So, I'm not going to lose 50 lbs. in a week, it's impossible! So why set myself up for that failure? And so, make sure that it's something that is attainable. The other thing it has to be realistic, right? And so realistic for you might be different for me, but also just do your own personal litmus, to say that your goal is realistic. It also must be time bound. You must set a timeline to achieve it. Hey! How are you guys doing? You must set a timeline to achieve it, because at the end of the day, if you don't, then it's not real. So, make it smart is number three. Specific, attainable, realistic, and time-bound. 4 - Make A Plan. Actually, make a plan! Think about it. So, we make plans on our job, we make plans and all the places that we go, but we fail to make those kinds of plans in our own life for the things that we think are really important. So, make a plan! Put it on your calendar, put in your planner, on your phone, put a sticky note on your mirror, put it wherever you need to put it so that you can remember. And set some time aside on to review it. So not just plan it, but also to review it on a regular basis. So, for me, I happen to review my goals on a weekly basis. That might be too much for you. You might only want to review your goals on a bi-monthly basis or monthly basis. But whatever it is, make sure that you do you put it on your calendar, because if you don't put it in your calendar, it's not real. 5 – Adjust As You Go. Yes, you have to adjust as you go. So maybe you need to adjust your activities or what you’re doing, maybe you need to adjust the fact that what you're doing isn't working, maybe you need to go back and get some help, maybe you need to get some research, a read a book. Whatever it is that you need to do, considering the fact that this is a goal that you wanted to achieve, keep at it. 6 - Celebrate Your Success. When you achieve something, celebrate, but don't make your celebration something that will undermine your success, either. So, let me give you a clue. So, as I said, I lost 3 lbs., right? So, my success cannot be related to food, because that is going to undermine what I've been able to accomplish. So, keep that in mind. And so, Smart Goals – how are you going to achieve your goals in 2019? Let's just do a quick review, and I'll let you go. Identify a goal that you really want to attain. Assess what it will take to get there. Make a plan. Put it on your calendar. Adjust as you go along. Make it smart, specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and well-timed, and then celebrate along the way. And there you have it! You’ll be on your way to accomplishing your goals! And so, without further ado, I am going to ask that our guest, Yalonda Haywood, the breakout expert, tell us first what is the secret to your success?” Yalonda: “Well firstly, let me say thank you so much for having me today. I consider it an honor and the privilege to connect with you and your listeners. The secret to my success, I honestly feel can be summed up in one word - or two - Leap and Trust. Anytime I have ever hit another level, it required me to trust in God, to trust in the gifts, skills, talents, abilities that He has blessed me with, and then simply to leap. I know that I have a way of getting in my own head, which will allow me to get in my own way. And so, I have to leap. I have to go; I can't stay stagnant. I firmly believe that God is able to correct my course when I’m moving. But when I am standing still, He can't correct me, because I'm not walking forward in the faith that I proclaim and profess.” Lisa: “That’s awesome! So, tell me, and our listeners here at Dare2Dream. I know that, as I was introducing you to our audience, that you are also not just a wife, a mother, but you're also a minister. So, tell us a little bit about how you connect with God and what you do on a daily basis, and tell us about, maybe if you have a routine that that's associated with.” Yalonda: “So, let me just say, I feel like God has always been a part of my life. So, becoming a minister for me just, it really was a way of allowing the world to know what God and I already knew. It was our secret and we just shared it with others. I connected with Him, my first experience of remembering that was at age 12, and then again at age 17. I can remember really making a commitment to walk with Him. And over the years, my routine has changed, and it changes with the seasons. But the thing that stays consistent, is I don't focus on ministering to other people. I focus on being ministered to by God and worshipping Him and everybody else benefits from the overflow of our relationship. So, for me, if I'm in a steady flow; that looks like when I wake up in the morning, I acknowledge his presence in my life. That's the first thing. I thank Him, I thank the Holy Spirit for filling me, for guiding me, for leading me, and that's before my feet literally hit the floor. That is a must do for me, because I know truly in Him, I live, move, and have my very being. And then there’s study time. Sometimes I am studying a book out of the Bible, and sometimes I'm studying a book that leads me back to the word to validate what the author is writing. But it still allows me to feed my spirit with the consistent word. And then there's always prayer. Prayer for me is the glue that holds everything together. When I'm praying, I'm going to have the prayers for others, the prayers for my family, the prayers for myself, the prayers for work. I really categorize my prayers so that I can make sure that I'm spreading God’s love across every area of life that I'm responsible for touching. And so, there are times and there are seasons, just to be honest, where it's heads down every day in the word because I really need it. That means I am in a place where I need to fill my cup. And then there are some seasons where it may be a few times per week, and I'm living off - I call it “the bear” - I call it ‘the bear season’ where I’ve stored up. And that's carrying me while I go out and do some of the work that God has assigned for me to do.” Lisa: “Amen! Amen! I know in my own practice, and the Dare2Dream audience is aware of this, is that establishing a routine in the morning, of connecting with God, and also gratitude. And so, I employ a method called “Gratitude Blitz”. And so, I am thankful that you too, have incorporated that into what you do. So, I know also that you are an author, a speaker, and a business life coach. But also, a wife and a mother - so tell me how are you balancing all those big, big, big titles?” Yalonda: “Lord help me! I’ll start off with the wife because I balance well because my husband and I are a team. And he supports the work that God is calling me to do. And it’s not a relationship of asking for permission. It’s a relationship where I seek his agreement. And as long as we are in agreement, Team Haywood knows how to function. He knows when, “Hey, I'm on Daddy duty, I got the kids, I got dinner, I got the house”. And then there are days when I'm on mommy duty, “I got the kids, I got the dog, I got the house” – we balance it well together. As a mom, I'm present. That’s important to me. And I don't mean present like “Yes, my kids are going to be clothed, and fed and clean”. But present where when we are connecting; I'm looking into their eyes. I want to make sure when I say, “Are you okay?” or “How are you? How was your day?” That I look past their words, and I know that they are okay, or I know something's not right, or how was their day. I bring them into the activities. My youngest, Justin, has now taken a new interest in cooking; and whenever he hears a pot or pan, he's like, “Oh, what are we doing today?”, And he's washing his hands and getting ready. I invite him into that place with me, because it's another way for me to integrate quality time into the things that are necessary and just must be done. As far as being an author, that is the download from God. He speaks outright; He speaks outright. And when the downloading comes a lot. Like this weekend was just a true weekend of downloading, and I said to my husband, “I got to write, I got to get this out.” And so, I was gone. I went to a café. I got nestled in a corner and a table, I had many cups of coffee, and I was there for like six- and eight-hour sprints; just getting it done. But then when I came home, I was able to be present again. My mind wasn’t divided. So, for me sometimes, it's a matter of just getting the work done when it's time to work and knowing when it's time to relax so that I can connect in the most meaningful ways possible with my family. So that we're creating memories and not just going through a task list every day.” Lisa: “Got it. That's good! So, you also are an author. So, tell us about this book. This latest book that you have coming out. We are - as you can tell - I love reading and would love to hear about it.” Yalonda: “So, this latest work that I'm finishing, and is actually and is getting ready to go to editing and print, is “Break Out: It’s Time to Have the Talk”. And it's a book/workbook. This particular work is very near and dear to my heart, because in ministry; I birthed forth a company called “Rest Remains Funeral Program”. That particular company allowed me to do really creative design work for those who wanted to honor the life of their loved one it a special way. However, as my clients came through the door; it became more than just creating a program, of course, it became a ministry as we began to heal hearts. And I kept hearing a recurring theme about all of the pieces that were not put together before a tragedy occurred, or before life happened, or before someone passed away. And I watched people, not be able to enter into the grieving process because they were too busy trying to be the administrator of the affairs. Because everything was in shambles. I learned quickly that when we put the pieces together, we leave the final gift of peace. So, this particular workbook, it’s a way of guiding us through how to deal with our inner emotions, our inner thoughts, how to stand in our own truth about what we would like in times of crisis, medical emergencies, or post-life plans. So, we deal with us first in this workbook, and then it teaches you how to have the talk with your family, and how to organize your affairs. So, if that day comes - or I should say when that day comes - everything is already put together, and you truly give your family the final gift of peace, and they're not in a state of worry and chaos.” Lisa: “Amen! So definitely keep us posted on that, because, as you said, it's not if it happens but it's when it happens, and we all need to be prepared for the inevitable and preparing our families for when it's our time, and especially, I know myself as my parents are getting older, and older family members and aunts and all that, to have that type of resource just feels like an amazing gift to the community. So, thank you. And then you are a business life coach. Tell us about the work that you’re doing there?” Yalonda: “I love it, I love what I do. As you stated in the introduction, I was in a place of seeking. I was really seeking God for what is the next leap for Yalonda? I felt like I was in a place of transition and change. I was feeling a void that I knew could not be filled by the world, or man, or riches, or wealth, and I was looking at what is that missing piece? And I found myself traveling. And as I was traveling, I simply heard God say to me, “You are an expert at breaking out. I have told you how to break out, now teach others to do the same.” And He said, “You are the breakout expert.” And it was in that moment, that if a choir could sing if the heavens could begin to dance; that happened in my heart because I knew exactly what He meant. I began to go back over the course of my life that had thrown me some hard curve balls; from overcoming childhood abuse and molestation, to marital challenges, to financial disaster, and having to rebuild. All of those things; the grief that was in my heart from so many obstacles in having to walk hand-in-hand with Him as He healed me and made me whole again; I was like “God, I got it”, I broke out. And I knew that my trials were not for naught. They were to be capitalized upon; so that God would get the glory from everything that the enemy thought he would use to destroy me, but God actually used to build me. And so, in my work as a Business Life Coach, I'm a creative strategist. Creativity is a true gift, I see in color, I hear in color, I see pictures when people talk. I mean it's just the way God created me, it's unique. And I am able to bring my clients in, and the first phase of my program is that mental clarity; it is helping them develop that emotional and worth intelligence, where they become really keenly in tune with what they are thinking, what they are feeling, they own those emotions, they regain their worth, because sometimes the circumstances and the trials of life come and try to rob us of who we are, whose we are, and what we are entitled to. And so, you regain that worth, and then you really begin to work with me to create a strategy to break out of the place that you are so that you can tap into the life that you really want.” Lisa: “Alright! That’s amazing! So how did you come to be the breakout expert? How did you land there?” Yalonda: “You mean in the coaching?” Lisa: “Yes” Yalonda: “I leaped! I literally leaped! My secret sauce to success is to leap. And I am immediately obedient. So, when I hear the Lord say, “Do something”, I have to activate - once I know, if I'm sure it's Him, I activate. So, for me, I took all of the experience – coaching is new, but it's not new. I say if you count 20 years in Ministry, the sister girl talks, the let me pick your brains, the “Yalonda what do you think about this?”, or can you help me, can you look at this, if you count all of that? I’ve been coaching for two decades, definitely. It's not new, but I formalized it. I made it official. I went ahead and called a spade, a spade and said: “I am a business life coach”. I help people rebound, I help people come up with strategy, I am the creative juice behind their visions. And you know I went ahead and I, myself, up leveled. I secured a coach. I think that's really, really, important to invest in where you want to grow. So, I wanted to grow in that area. So, I needed to invest in myself so that I could continue to be coached; so that I could coach others at a higher level. I invested in all of the tools that were needed. You know, to really begin to develop a presence. From my marketing to my personal branding representatives that I partnered with, to photography that I partner with, to new relationships and networking in the industry, I really began to become a student to the craft that I wanted to perfect. And I would spend hours and hours every single day making sure that I was creating the content and material that would be valuable to the clients that I would work with. I don't believe in putting something into the market that's not of the standard that would represent God first, and something that I would want myself. So, I invested the time, the energy, the prayers, the heart, and making sure I had a great program. So, the breakout expert really was just born when I made that decision to leap, and then I rolled up my sleeves and I got to work.” Lisa: “Well, it sounds like this investment thing in yourself, and taking that leap and trusting God really help you to get to that place. And I am a big supporter of investing in ourselves. I think as women, and especially women of color; we spend so much time investing in the people that are around us, our loved ones, our friends, in our communities, in our churches, and it's like the same when you're on the airplane and the stewardess says, “Put your airbag on first”. And so, it sounds like you have taken that to heart. I applaud you for making that leap and making the investment. Now, this is interesting, your system is spelled out truth T-R-U-T-H. So, can you just give us just a peek into what that represents?” Yalonda: “When I was doing what I call my ‘self-check’ I have to stay true to myself. So, I’m writing all of this wonderful content, and I called five people in my life that I know that are near dear and just really know Yalonda. And I said to them, “Whenever I have helped you at any phase in life; what is something that you can say about how I relate?” And four of the five said to me, “Oh you just give us the truth. You tell it like it is. There is no sugarcoating with you. We don't have to worry about where we stand, you just going to give the truth”. Instantly, I look back at my content and I could see ‘truth’. So, the T stands for Touch the Walls. Because in order to break out, you must break down the invisible wall. So, you got to touch them; you got to know they're there. The R stands for Reflect Inwardly. This is where you really begin to take a look at where you are self-sabotaging, and you learn how to repurpose your pain, reprogram the mind, and reframe your actions. The U stands for Unlock the Potential. Sometimes as you go through life and there are all of these walls that are holding you back; your potential gets locked up. And so, I take clients through the exercise of teaching them how to unlock all of that greatness. The next T is Torch It, and this is where we ignite the passion and the fire. Now that the potential is unlocked, you will become, you will get excited about what your hands will be able to do, and so we really go through an exercise of identifying your reason why, and I'm teaching you tactics to stay connected to your purpose so that you don't get derailed by distractions. The last is Hit the Ground Running. It does not matter if you break down a wall, if you see your potential, if you get excited if you don't take action. And so, we’ll use this phase of my program to help you make stellar career business plans on so that he really began to gain momentum and put your faith into action.” Lisa: “Nice, Nice, That's nice. So, changing gears just a little bit, and so I love this question because if I were asking myself this question, I have a bunch to say. But if you could send a message back to yourself at any age: 10 years ago, 20 years ago, 30 years ago - what would the message be, and why?” Yalonda: “Oh Lisa, if I could send a message to myself – it would be, “take off the mask.” It really would be “take off the mask”, because I hit some hard roads in life, but I kept going. And I presented myself well put together when there were many times I was so broken on the inside - and it's almost an oxymoron - because I didn't trust the God that I trusted beyond all others, to do what I know only He could do in me. If I just would have paused, if I would have stopped, if I would have been honest with myself about where I was, I would have gotten to my place of authenticity and my place of divine Serenity a lot faster, quicker, and more powerfully. I didn't begin to show up in the full power of who God created me to be, until I took the mask off and I was able to say, “I'm hurt, I’m broken, I'm scared, I'm unsure, I don't know.” And when I work, when I really began to do that; I realized I didn't have that much to worry about. Things started happening so quickly for me. That's what I would tell myself and then I would tell my young self to trust - trust the unction. I am today where I dreamed of being when I was 17. When I was 17, I said to myself, “I'm going to be a motivational speaker, and I want to write books, and I want to travel the world, and I want to help people.” Then someone said to me “You can't make money doing that.” And so, I said to me, “Oh, well I guess I'll go to college.” And I'm not saying there's anything wrong with higher education, I totally believe in it and encourage people to go further. But if I would have listened to me, and cut out the sound of the world and got in tune with the sound of my own voice? The journey would not have been the forty-year journey through the desert. (laughs) It would have been a quicker route to where I was ultimately designed to be anyway.” Lisa: “All right. I think I have some stories that I share about that I wilderness trek that took 40 years. So, I can definitely concur and relate to that. So, I'm thinking about, you know, all the things that you're doing - all the things that you're responsible for - I want to also just connect back a little bit to your mission. And so your mission, as it's clearly stated in your bio, is “No More Walls”. So, tell me about what that means to you, what that means potentially to people who connect with you, to help them find their own truth, and also to the Dare2Dream podcast audience.” Yalonda: “So, no more walls from me echoes in my ears so loudly. It’s a reminder that I don't have to live with limits when I serve a limitless Savior. It is a reminder to me that everything is possible to him who believes. That I don't need the permission of a man to put me in a box. I wasn't designed to be restricted. I'm not designed to be imprisoned by fear, doubt, and unbelief - and I say that to the listeners - you're not. You are designed by the One who created the wind, who is free-flowing, that blows; that created, hung the sun and the moon and the stars in the sky. He painted the canvas of the universe. That means that for you as an individual, you are uniquely designed and created, and you should not live within a box. You should not live with walls that prevent you from running hard, from going fast, from getting all that Heaven will allow for you. One of my most favorite scriptures is Psalms 27:13 through 14. And when you talk about all of the things that I do, sometimes when you look at them on paper, it can seem overwhelming to people. But it’s not for me because I don't live my life with walls anymore. I am guided by Him, and God just – He’s the Master project manager. Hallelujah! He absolutely tells me how to orchestrate my life and all of the pieces come together and that scripture says, “I had fainted unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.” And, for me, I hold so fast to that in my mission of No More Walls, because it reminds me that I'm not going to fight in this journey, that I am putting my faith and my hopes in the right place. But if I have courage that He is going to give me the strength - and it's His responsibility to strengthen my hand, because that's what it promised He shall strengthen thine heart He shall strengthen my hand He is the one that gives me what I need so that I'm able to operate in excellence in everything that He's calling me to do. And I always take that, Lisa, and I couple it with 1st Thessalonians, I think 5 and 24, which says “Faithful is he who calls me, who also will do it.” And so I don't faint, because He is faithful. I don't live with walls, because He's going to strengthen me. I don't resist and hold back, because I know that He's going to fulfill the purpose in my life. And so I say to the listeners, whenever you find yourself at that place of transition, whenever you are daring to dream, as you would say in this community, bank on yourself. Put your confidence, your trust, and your faith in the one that you serve and then just Dream. Most of everything that I do today that has created a different lifestyle for me and my family, that changed the trajectory of us living beneath our means in a place that was financially hard, came when I started to dream. I didn't have to know all of the pieces, I didn't have to know how. I entered into my first six-figure career because I dared to dream. Someone said “try it”, and I said “okay!” and I did, and it's simply worked! It just worked! I realize that I knew things, and I had skills that I may not have known what to call them, but it didn't diminish the skill nonetheless. I may not have understood the industry lingo, but once I got in there, I fit right in. You have to be willing to take that leap because on the other side of your fear, is the manifestation of all of the promises and the blessing that life has for you.” Lisa: “Amen! Let the church say Amen! So, I want to leave some time as well for you to go a little bit into if you want the E&W IQ™, and then also how the Dare2Dream listeners can reach you, connect with you, and understand more about the work you're doing as the breakout expert.” Yalonda: “All right. So, E&W IQ™, a new system that I created for emotional and worth intelligence. And so, a lot of times we are told to be strong, to keep going, oh don't let that get you down, don't worry about that, you've got it, and what happens is we process that as knowledge, but not necessarily our truth. Because the truth maybe “yeah I will overcome, but right now I am simply hurt.” Or the truth may be “yes I'm going to stay in this marriage, but this broke me, and I have broken pieces.” It could be the grief of losing a loved one, or the grief of losing a job, or the things that you work for, but we got to keep going! And so, you don't become emotionally smart, because you numb and dumb down your emotion. And so, one of the things I teach people who work with me is how to really get back in tune to what you're thinking, and how you are feeling so that you learn how to process those emotions in an intelligent way. You are not uneven, you are very strategic and practical about how you begin to approach - you're not up one day and down the next - that's the emotional part in its cliff note version. The worth part is having to come into a relationship with what you are really worth. It's amazing to me, and I am guilty - I was guilty - it was amazing to me that I had gifts that were uniquely mine. They were my unique blueprint for how I would show up in the world. And my phone was ringing off the hook with people who wanted to connect with me, but my ‘having level’ and my ‘worth’ wasn't there. And I can perceive in my mind about how to charge someone, or how to ask a person to invest in the knowledge that they wanted to receive from me. Or when I would get a job when it was just in corporate, I would be afraid to negotiate a salary, because I didn't have a worth intelligence. But when I learned how to really lay out what I bring, the value that I bring to the table, how I show up in the world, all of the unique skills, gifts, talents, and abilities that make me uniquely Yalonda, my worth started to go up. I realized that I didn't have to be timid about the investment of working with me, I didn't have to be timid about what I deliver, I didn't have to be timid if I received a job offer that did not match my ‘having level’. I was okay with saying no, and knowing that something else was going to come back with - be more in line with my belief system about what I was worth. And so, I teach people how to get a connection with that. Scripture: “We can Make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps.” Proverbs 16:9 Attitude - A positive attitude can go a long way in the workplace. Having a positive attitude is essential to do creative work. Your attitude determines the course of your life. When you’re negative, you act as a roadblock in the path of your success. Passion- The enthusiasm you show when you are passionate about something is easily noticeable and can rub off on others. Being passionate about something also gives you the ability to endure in times when things may not be going your way. Being Coachable - Be always open to learning. You can never know everything. To increase your chances of success, you need to be a continuous learner. Go above and beyond - Doing something extra will not cost you much but it will definitely add a lot to your character and make you stand above the crowd. Being Prepared - “Failing to plan is planning to fail”. Always be prepared, formulate a plan before you do something. Being prepared reduces a significant amount of possibilities of failure. Which skills are you lacking, and where do you occasionally fall short? Most of the big opportunities that we get in life come as a result of the little choices we make every day. In life, your competition isn't other people. It's the negative thoughts you think, the time you waste, the procrastination you allow, the unhealthy food you eat and the personal development you ignore. Poor choices can potentially harm your own future success. Soft skills are absolutely invaluable in every organization, and each will boost you towards greater personal and professional success! Being on Time - Many people have a habit of being late to meetings, work, and appointments. For most people, time is money and they hate for their time to be wasted. Being on time takes zero talent and shows discipline. It gives a good first impression. Scripture: Psalm 90:12 “Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.” According to Rick Warren “Time is your most precious gift because you only have a set amount of it. You can make more money, but you can't make more time.”. Work Ethic - Cutting corners may seem like the easy way out but it always leads to dead-ends. Doing your work with honesty and dedication will take you to new heights. Take pride in the quality of the work you’re doing. Scripture: Proverbs 16:3 “Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.” “Never stop doing your best, just because someone doesn’t give you credit.” “The only way to do great work is to love what you do.” “You can’t have a Million Dollar dream, with a minimum wage work ethic. Effort - Give your everything when you do something. You shouldn’t regret afterward that you didn’t make enough effort to make things happen. Always do your best. Scripture: Colossians 3:23-24 “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.” The effort is what it takes to get something done. Your dreams will take time. It will take efforts and require dedication and sacrifice. Stay focused. Focus on your goals. If you know you’re "Why" it will be easier to stay motivated. Scripture: Phil 4:13 “I can do all things through him who strengthens me.” Motivation is an inner driving force that pushes you to do and accomplish things. It is comprised of a strong desire, ambition, and the realization of the importance of what to want to do. In order to accomplish anything, you need a driving force, otherwise, nothing would happen. A simple wish is not strong enough to make you take action. A wish is a weak desire, but only a strong desire can drive you forward, to act and accomplish aims and goals. Motivation is awakened by both internal and external factors, which stimulate the desire and the energy to continue being interested and committed to a job, action or goal. It is the process that stimulates people to act, do things, and accomplish goals. What can help you to get motivated? You need to know exactly what you want. Your goal should be clear. You need to be aware of it benefits of what you want to accomplish. You need to keep the desire, enthusiasm, and zest constantly alive. Scripture: Phil 3:14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. Prayer: Lord. Grant us the strength to press towards our goal. Amen. It starts with passion. We find the thing inside of us that lights us up every single day, and we begin our journey to greatness riding on a wave on excitement and enthusiasm. But this passion can only take us so far. Eventually, the excitement starts to fade, and our motivation declines. Many of us quit, defeated, but the successful one’s forge on, fueled by a seemingly endless supply of mental strength and determination. They have a hunger – an unwavering force that drives them to defy the odds and continue when everything and everyone could not. They want it more than they want air. It gives them the power to conquer the fears, the failures, the setbacks and survive the months, years or sticking with Plan A. My husband said to me yesterday, when Plan A fails – revert to plan A, and I say there is only Plan A there is no Plan B. Hunger is a hard thing to hang onto in the face of doubt, but there are some ways to find and feed that hunger and stay motivated when you’re struggling to see the light and to keep forging on. Here are six thing I have found help me to stay on track with Plan A Change your environment. Create a routine. Anticipate roadblocks. Always keep learning. In the words of Dr. Seuss “The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.” Change your language. Nourish your body Yes, massive success requires massive focus and massive clarity. I call it clearing the deck to focus on what is most important. But as monumental as it seems, it is only the sum of the consistent efforts we put forth. It is a process, a journey. So let that journey (and all the little choices we make each day) be fueled by passion and hunger our Dare2Dream Mindset – because putting all these together, you are unstoppable. In July 2017 and 2018, Dr. Woodard’s company (LDW Group LLC) won competitive bids and was selected as the One-Stop Operator for the comprehensive American Job Centers (AJC) for CareerSource Northeast Florida (Region 8) and CareerSource Central Florida (Region 12). The One-Stop Operator ensures that the AJC partners provide a seamless customer-focus delivery to services to customers who utilize the One-Stop Center. From 2015-2017, Dr. Woodard served as the Associate VP of Workforce Education and Economic Development for Florida State College at Jacksonville (FSCJ). There, she provided strategic oversight for Continuing Education (CE) open enrollment programming, Corporate Learning and Training Solutions (CLTS) (engagement with the business and industry community to provide contract training, professional services and programs), the affiliated registered apprenticeship programs and federal grant programs including FSCJ’s $5 million DOL Florida Apprenticeship Grant. In her first year at FSCJ, Dr. Woodard and her teams eliminated deficits in both entrepreneurial centers (CLTS and CE) and exceeded revenue goals by nearly 50 percent. She developed fast-track short-term training to meet the needs of employers in the College’s service area; these programs were designed to articulate to the PSAV (Postsecondary Adult Vocational), A.S., and B.A.S. workforce program pathways. Dr. Woodard is knowledgeable of LMI and uses the information to make data-driven decisions. Prior to relocating to Jacksonville, Dr. Woodard was the VP of External Relations and Funding in the workforce division of Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C) in Cleveland, Ohio. She served two tours of duty at Tri-C from 1998 to 2005 and again from 2011 to 2015. While at Tri-C, Dr. Woodard managed multi-million- dollar workforce grants while having oversight of the division’s resource development, grants management, quality assurance, and the Job Link Services (JLS) department. During her time at Tri-C, Dr. Woodard earned two of the College’s highest awards for a stellar performance: The President’s “Professional Excellence” Award & Executive Vice President’s “Excellence In Action” Award. The secret to your success is to remember why you even have a career and do exactly what you should be doing. Yes, actually do it. But the challenge for some of us may be bigger than this question. It may have to do more with earning potential than anything else. We all need to earn a living in some shape or form. But what if in the process of earning a living we had fun, we livened out our passions, we made a difference and we somehow left the world a better place. How fulfilling would that be, would that then become your number one secret to career success. Let’s dig into the why behind your career choice to help you and me in clarifying our number one Secret to Career Success. Do you know your Why? I mean really know it. In a position that nothing can or does move you off it. Let’s walk through some possibilities to help you remember or discover your why. Here are eight possibilities (help you discover your career why): You’ve always had an interest in this career or type of job from a young age You have a parent, friend or family member who encouraged you to get into it, and you found that you like it a lot You care about helping people and making an impact and this career allows you to do that (only use this if it’s relevant to your career- like ministry, teaching, science, medicine, for example) You started your career in a different field but transferred within a previous company and ended up liking this new area more You read a book that turned you onto the topic You watched a film that turned you onto the topic You had a university professor or other teacher who encouraged you to get into this career field You have a personal story or reason for caring about the career or field you’re in. Before we close this Podcast today, I want to share with one final thought. Why is this important? When we are able to live fully in a dare2dream mindset, we can let go of everything that is holding us back from our true calling, from our dream career and ultimately our dream life. When we live the Dare2Dream life, we are operating at our highest potential, we have a passion to carry us forward, doors are opened, and opportunities are plentiful, and we receive window blessings. No, the struggle may not ever stop, and we still must work hard, but it does not feel like work, because this is our why, this is our dream and our passions are all wrapped up in making it happen. I was recently asked about my call, by someone who really has no understanding or concept o what a call from God really means. And if you are wondering, I did not take the time to explain it, but I took the time to share my why. My personal why is, God, called me to transform lives, and until recently I did not know exactly what that was. Not that my why has been revealed to me in Dare2Dream and ministry and business, this podcast, events, books, a monthly accelerator, a future retreat and who know because with God all things are possible, and it does not yet appear what we shall become. Have you ever thought about being brave in the context of fear. Understand what it means to be free. Pursue your passions. Let go of whatever is holding you back. Let go of whatever you’re rebelling against without a higher purpose. Live in the moment. Father, you know what’s best. Now, Lord, we ask that you would merge your way with our desire, then knit them together to form the master plan. And after that, show us the way, and we will be caring to give you the glory, honor, and praise. Amen. Our focus “5 Secrets to Get Everything You Want” Let’s Just admit it to ourselves, we all want it our way, and when we can’t have it our way, then we’ll take OUR WAY. The truth is there are rules to what can and cannot have and to what can be done, and to what can ultimately work. But I know a God who has all, is all and can do anything but fail. The sky and beyond is truly out limit. The idea behind the SECRET is the universal principle “law of attraction.” You attract what you think of and what you want. If you are broke right now it is in part because you are thinking about it, you are letting your worries get to you. Isn’t it true that when you wake up on the “wrong side of the bed” everything seems to be going badly for you that day? That is because bad things attract other bad things. If you are in a bad relationship, it is because of your thinking, If you never have the things you desire or want if you have a hard time achieving your goals. Take some time to analyze the why. Use a simple formula Ask yourself the 5 Whys. But it can be used in two different ways. We talk more about this when we discuss this week’s activities for this podcast. How can you learn how to make this law of attraction work out for you? The 5 Secrets To Get Everything You Want: Remove all limits Define Your Goals Massive Focused Action Align All of your Resources (Time, Energy, Prayer, Environment, Money) Believe You Can Remove all limits – remove your inhibitions related to what you are capable of doing, and accomplishing. My rule is that if someone else can do it that I can too. In my early 20’s I found myself in the army in the middle of boot camp. No, I am not joking, in boot camp my first week I was in the mess hall, cleaning dishes, for the celebration meal for the graduating recruits and I was handed a plate from a new graduate, and I remember it so vividly, she said I would not make it. Those same words have motivated me my entire life…. And this example was no different. Needless to say, I did complete boot camp and ended up in the best physical condition of my life. The secret was I remove the limiting thoughts and did the nearly impossible at least that was I was told. Define Your Goals - Our goals start with a dream or a vision of how it could be. But this is just wishful thinking until we make it a goal. Use Smart Goals (SMART) Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant and Timed. Massive Focused Action. The easiest way to take massive action is to take action. Take a look at your resources, but most especially how you spend your time and money. If you have a family, you will need to have a conversation and get buy-in on your goals. Enlist their help, but not their criticism and doubts. Begin to journal, act as if and place positive words of affirmation all around you. Consider recording a statement of affirmation and repeat it, listen to it, make a mission statement for your new goals. Align All of your Resources (Time, Energy, Prayer, Environment, Money) Then create your plan of action. You can also request access to free training on Decluttering this will help you get started. Click the limit in the show notes. Believe You Can – Believe you can, and you are halfway there. Utilize Positive Affirmations one of my favorites is “I can do all thing through Christ who strengthens me.” (Phil 4:13) Closing Comments What I have learned to be true, if we don’t do what we have been called to do, it can never happen, if we succumb to our fear it can never happen, if we sit on our dreams and never act on them and turn them into goals and then into accomplishments guess what they will never happen. Our focus “The Best is Yet to come.” Our life on earth is like the pre-game in basketball. Life is interesting and full of promise, but it doesn’t compare to what lies ahead. Just think of the pleasure of knowing that even when life is good, the best is yet to come! Or that when we give cheerfully to those in need, it’s an investment in heavenly treasure. In times of suffering and sorrow, we can find hope as we reflect on the truth that a pain-free, tearless eternity awaits us. It’s no wonder that Paul exhorts: “Set your minds on things above” (Col. 3:2). I’m going to reveal my age a bit. I am a Burger King baby. There was a commercial that came out in 1978. You can order your burger at burger king burger the way you want it. Just like the commercial, I just want it my way, and when that can’t happen I still - just want it my way. I believe that NO means not now, and I ask the questions a different way. But when we think about the core of the Best is Yet to come it centers on the word “Yet” Yet is up until the present or a specified or implied time, by now or by then. Also, even still further additionally, and besides. "Yet" is a conjunction, a conjunction is a word used to connect clauses or sentences. So why is Holding on to the premise of “The Best is Yet to come.” So important? It important because it is the key to getting all that your heart desires in this life and more. The 3 Elements of Getting the Best: Dream Bigger When was the last time you had a dream and set goals? If your dreams don’t scare you, they are too small Have you identified the deep desire for the biggest job that truly scares you, and stretches you, (say the title out loud) are you scared yet? To get the best, you have first to believe it’s possible Where is your faith meter? I believe but help my unbelief. Anticipate the best; No anticipate the Very Best! Our focus “The Importance of Being Grateful.” There are four key areas to practice gratitude and to increase your grateful meter. 4 Gratitude Practices Learn Prayers of Gratitude. In many spiritual traditions, prayers of gratitude are considered to be the most powerful form of prayer, because through these prayers people recognize the ultimate source of all they are and all they will ever be. Keep a Gratitude Journal. Establish a daily practice in which you remind yourself of the gifts, grace, benefits and good things you enjoy. Setting aside time on a daily basis to recall moments of gratitude associated with ordinary events, your attributes, or valued people in your life this gives you the potential to interweave a sustainable life theme of gratefulness. Remember where you came from. To be grateful in your current state, it is helpful to remember the hard times that you once experienced. What God has already pulled you through is a reminder of what he can and will do later. When you remember how difficult life used to be and how far you have come, you set up an explicit contrast in your mind, and this contrast is fertile ground for gratefulness. Make a Commitment to be Grateful. Make being grateful a practice and a habit. Research shows that pledging (oath or promise) to perform a behavior increases the likelihood that the action will be executed. Therefore, write your gratitude commitment statement or gratitude intention statement. This could be as simple as “I commit to counting my blessings each day,” or “I will intentionally be grateful in every aspect of my life.” and post it somewhere where you will be reminded of it every day. Our focus in our episode today “How to create an Abundance Mindset.” Abundance is about flourishing. It is operating with no lack. Our scripture for this Podcast: Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. (Psalm 2:5) The Lord will open the abundant storehouses of the skies where he keeps the rain, and he will send rain on your land at just the right times. He will make you successful in everything you do. You will have plenty of money to lend to other nations, but you won’t need to borrow any yourself. (Deut 28:12) Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. Faith is complete trust or confidence in someone or something. Faith involves intellectual assent to a set of facts and trust in those facts. For example, we have faith in Jesus Christ. This means we completely trust Jesus for our eternal destiny. We give intellectual assent to the facts of His salvific death and bodily resurrection, and we then trust in His death and resurrection for our salvation. Faith simply means believing that something is true, and then committing our lives to it. Our scripture for this Podcast: “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” (Hebrews 11:1) Prayer: O’ God our Lord and Savior we lift up our hands in praise of you. Thank you for placing your mind in us, and for giving us faith beyond measure. Amen. Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Now faith is the assurance (title deed, confirmation) of things hoped for (divinely guaranteed), and the evidence of things not seen [the conviction of their reality—faith comprehends as fact what cannot be experienced by the physical senses]. Amplified The fundamental fact of existence is that this trust in God, this faith, is the firm foundation under everything that makes life worth living. It’s our handle on what we can’t see. The act of faith is what distinguished our ancestors, set them above the crowd. What is then so important about faith: Without Faith Nothing Happens No Faith, No Power No Faith, No Progress So what happens if we replace the word faith with Dream….Let’s look at this again. In Episode 9 we will focus on “P.U.S.H.- Pray Until Something Happens.” PUSH - In the late 90’s I started a prayer ministry entitled PUSH. It was when I first began to understand the power and importance of prayer. Welcome is the Dare to Dream Podcast with Rev. In daring to dream my hope and prayer is that everyone I touch on this journey forward will be somehow transformed in exactly who they were called to be. The deepest desire in my heart is that some small part of this podcast, the Facebook group or the coaching or webinars or book. The most important in Daring to Dream is courage. The 4 keys to Daring to Dream: Courage Strength Fortitude Belief First Courage. According to Colin Powell courage is, Courage is not about self-aggrandizement or increasing your own power, or bravado, or desperate initiatives. It’s about the willingness to respectfully, relentlessly, and unapologetically challenge people – including the smartest, toughest people around you – in the pursuit of unit goals and performance excellence.” But for this type of courage, you need to first walk your talk. But wisdom is also part of true courage. We must seek the wisdom of God to know when to step and when to wait. When to seek, when to pray, when to fast. But not just the what but also the how. Secondly Strength. Strength is a combination of courage and wisdom. There is no strength without first courage. Strength starts where courage ends; Strength is like muscle memory. Like the memory foam in products. When you use your muscles, they flex and build. When your muscles flex and build. Strength is the ability to impact change. Robert Schuller says, “Tough times never last but touch people do.” Take this all in and ask what does it mean to you. How will you strengthen yourself? The Third Fortitude. Fortitude in its purest form is a synonym for courage and strength. It is courage in adversity; it is bravery. Or exhibiting bravery in the most difficult of circumstances. Think back to a time of your seemingly worst days, you felt depressed, your marriage or relationship was failing, or you did not have a relationship at all. You were by yourself, peering with pea green envy at the window other people’s happy lives. You were kicked out of school; you were fired from your job, your car was reposed, you were on the brink of losing everything…. BUT GOD.. had a fire of courage, strength, and fortitude burning inside of you to get up, to speak up, lift your head up, and to put just one foot in front of the other…. And before you knew it things began to change. Think back on this time not trying to forget but try to remember, how you felt, what you did to overcome, and the joy in your heart when you came through on the other side of your pain…. This is the type of fortitude I am speaking about. This is the thinking that allows you to think beyond common sense and get out of your own way. Fourthly Belief. In the song from The Wiz staring Diana Ross and Michael Jackson, Lena Horn encourages Dorothy through the song “Believe” Believe you can use this experience to get through anything. Of course, I pray that you never reach that level again, but use what you have to get to where God is calling you. You can do it, what you want is BIG, it’s so big in fact it scares you to death. This is right where God wants you to be. A wise man Rev. Dr. Fowler of Akron Ohio shared in a talk I attended he shared that his only regret in life was that he did not dream bigger. He had not set his bar higher. So on today, Dare2Dream set your bar so high that it is out of your reach, You can’t even see it in the distance. What will happen is that you will begin to strive for the impossible goal, the impossible dream, and then with each day that passes, and your continued pursuit of it, it will be closer and closer, and you will achieve beyond your wildest dreams. But also, be sure to suspend in disbelief. Act as of success is for certain. And it certainly will be. Act like you have complete faith. So a let’s recap. The 4 keys to Daring to Dream: Courage Strength Fortitude Belief So, daring to dream is when a dream doesn't become a reality through magic; it takes sweat, determination, and hard work. But when you dare to dream, it must come from the heart if you really want it. Scripture: Finally, sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. (Phil 4:8) For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love, and self-discipline. (2 Tim 1:7) Consider it pure joy, my brothers, and sisters,[a] whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3 because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. (James 1:2-3) Prayer: Father God, We know that whatever is true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, it all comes from our source, our gracious and Heavenly Father. Lord, we thank you that you have removed a spirit of fear as far as the east is from the west, and placed in our hearts, power, and love and a sound mind to do your will and seek after our goals and dream daily in the name of Jesus, Amen. Let’s hop right to our topic- The 5 S’s to feed your Soul. I want to share the 5 S’s and then break down each one a bit if that’s OK. The 5 S’s to Feed Your Soul: Source Silence Solitude Stillness Sanctuary First Source. The Source of all things, that which created the heavens and earth, that which breathed life into us. For me, it is God Almighty. For me, it is not beyond the realm of possibility for the same God to be known by different names – but one source, yet all speaking in our tounges. My source is Adonai, my All and All. Without my source, I am nothing at all. I honor and lit up my source. The goal here is to read the instructions that God let for us, read His word daily. You can start with the scriptures found in this podcast. The Second S is Silence. This world is so noisy. We are all overly stimulated with news, constant videos and television streaming, along with music, text notifications and notices, video games, Facebook, Instagram, Snap Chat and all the many screens we have access to and use, the passwords we must remember, the information we ingest and must report out on – it is ALL JUST TOO MUCH. Even when we go shopping whether online or in person, there are millions upon millions of choices and decisions to make. There is information that we are only capable of a limited number of decisions we can make each day. I mean good, well informed, sold decisions. This is why Mark Zuckerberg and the Steve Jobs of the world wear primarily the same thing every day. When we remove, all the unnecessary, and insignificant decisions, we can truly be silent. Consider what you can remove from your every day to gain some silence. When I first experience silence on a higher level, I never expected what happened - to happen. When my family and I first moved to the DMV, I began to test my theory, and I drove home to Ohio alone with no radio or sound at all. I was amazed by what happened to me on the inside. I found my ride refreshing, as I was able to take in the beauty of fall and all the beautiful colors, purples, reds, oranges and yellow. I felt a connection with God and his creation that I had not experienced since my time in Hawaii. The concept of being still was for me - taken to a whole new level. The Third S is Solitude. If our minds are consistently being triggered, and it is influenced it is very difficult to achieve any level of solitude. The type of solitude I am refereeing to is when you can sit with your thoughts, and focus on what you need to accomplish, do, dream or just simply be without other tasks, other people’s needs or just sitting still…. without anything interrupting your solitude. I recall a time when I thought I had achieved this, and something reminded me that I was not at the level of solitude I thought I was. I was listening to the radio, and an advertisement for a large big box department store came on, and they were advertising a white sale., but not just any white sale but the largest white sale of the YEAR, so large in fact that as they said I didn’t want to miss it. I was only a few blocks from home, but I found myself turning around in my car heading in the opposite direction to go and partake of the White Sale. Then it hit me - I did not need any additional sheets or towels… and I turned myself around and headed back home. I share this story to emphasize the importance of our solitude and the importance of our need to have it and the importance of guarding it and placing boundaries around it for our greater and greatest selves, and for up leveling, for reaching your high vibration self. Stillness is the fourth S. Scripture tells us to be still and know that I am God. (Psalm 46:10) Why be still you ask. We are still so that we can hear, see, feel and touch our source. God is always speaking to us, but because we are constantly moving, it prevents us from hearing, seeing and feeling His presence. We are not available for God to place in our souls and spirits that which is essential for us to manifest our dream jobs. God cannot reach us the line is busy. He is knocking at the door, and we don’t hear it, He sent us an email, but it is lost with all the other things we missed or overlooked. For us to receive power, renewed energy, from the only source I know is to be still and know….He alone is the source, find some time to be still and see, and watch Him work. It’s funny when I hear Christians say; I don’t feel the presence of God like I once did, what I know to be true, God has not moved, He is the same yesterday, today and always. Try it, be still for 5 minutes, then 10 then 15. Before long, you will be able to still for hours. I saved the best S for last, number five - Sanctuary. For me, my home office is a major part of my sanctuary. Before this, I did not truly understand what having a personal sanctuary could do for me. In 2017, I had like many years in the past created a list of goals and placed them on a vision board. Fast forward to August when I got serious about achieving my goals, I started with decluttering and making my home office my sanctuary. When it was completed, I was able to focus and begin to achieve on a level I had not experienced prior. I saw my way through making real progress on my goals. To see my Vision Board for 2017, check out the link in the show notes. But what makes it my sanctuary, is my books and Bibles and a space I created and defined as my own. I have a custom scented candle that sits on a warmer, I have fresh flowers, and all my senses are positively engaged. It is very feminine; there are positive affirmations all around me and a beautiful chandelier that my husband picked out for me. But the one thing that makes it my sanctuary is that it is MY PERSONAL SPACE, and all MINE, mine, mine, mine. Every day, I meditate, journal, and have quiet time. I also work on my dreams, goals, and aspirations in this space. My advice is - If you don’t have a space that is all your own, make this part of your goals now and in 2019. So a let’s recap. Welcome is the Dare to Dream Podcast with Rev. Scripture: “Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, “Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain.” And God granted his request.” 1 Chron 4:10 “May he give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed.” Psalm 20:4 “Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans. “Proverbs 16:3 Prayer: Shall we pray – Heavenly Father, you are the one and only true and living God, and we know you have our plans in your hand and they have been established since the foundation of the earth, we pray for direction, guidance, and wisdom, we pray for enlarged territories, and we pray that nothing with hurt or harm us. We commit our plan to you as we not go forward to see what the end will be. Amen. How do you eat an elephant? I know it’s a crazy thought, eating an entire elephant. It is no different than the big goals we have identified for ourselves. If you are anything like me I made bigger than life goals for 2018. Some of which were so big I would literally have to work day and night to accomplish. But, I knew that when I made them a goal during my visioning for 2018. What I also, know to be true is that I have never seen the righteous forsaken or His seed begging bread (Psalm 37:25b) Yes, maybe you have heard you can only Eat an Elephant One Bite at a time. When you are when dealing with a large task, goal, or project it is one bite, one step at a time. These last few weeks I have really been struggling with being overwhelmed with all that needs to get done, we are planning for guest visiting us, I have two new team members I am onboarding, and to top it off my A/C in my car is in need of repair. And living the DMV in June it is super-HOT. My Elephant is my coaching business Dare2Dream (actually, my dream job!) are all the things in need to be doing now versus later, thee ideas that I need to get on paper and the other ideas I need the help of my team to accomplish. It’s fun but all very hard work. Here are few suggestions to get you on track with eating your elephant and not feeling overwhelmed: The first thing to do is reflect on your relationship to the elephant. Is it YOUR elephant, i.e. is it YOUR goal? Is it YOUR dream? Are you working on what you think you “should” be doing, or setting a goal to make others happy? If it’s not your elephant, decide how much power you want to give it. What do you have a choice about? Can you decide to release attachment to the goal, knowing you have bigger fish – or elephants – to fry? So, let’s make and assumption you have decided that the elephant is one of your choosing; You have decided to out your goals first (put on your air bag so to speak) you’ve named it Dream Job, Book or Blog, Vlog, Side Hustle or Relationship or New Career or Cleaning Out and Decluttering, Getting a New Mindset. How will you feel once you have it… stop and close your eyes for a moment? And really think about HOW YOUR WILL FEEL. Try renaming the elephant to reflect what you want to experience. Focus on your intention. Using this guidance, my Dream Job (elephant) might sound like this: I feel empowered and confident as I share my unique voice with the world. I am making a difference in the lives of the women I work with, I am leaving the world a better place, I am transforming lives. I am helping others to reach the place God is calling them too. Does this help? By focusing on what I You/I want to feel, You/I are opening up to possibility that it will happen. My elephant might evolve, and if I’m too focused on a specific make and model, appearing at a specific time, I might miss an even better outcome. Some other tips for keeping the elephant in perspective: Be Authentic: Keep showing up you and only the “real to you” with authentic intentions and goals, the more likely you are to be committed and take action. One Bite at a Time: When you feel overwhelmed, it helps to remember to take your commitments and actions and break them into bite size pieces, or fun size goals. Remind yourself that you have choices about what you say “yes” and “no” to, and when and how you move forward. Let your yeses be yes and noes be no. Celebrate Your Wins: Each time you reach a milestone, celebrate it! Treat yourself in a way that feels appropriate. Acknowledge your progress and channel that positive energy into taking the next bite. Enlist Helpers: Get a coach who will help you stay on track and who will support you. Keep connected to people who inspire, encourage and challenge you. Hire me as your Dare2Dream coach to help you. Eliminate Negative People: Stay away from negative influence, news media, television, from our circle of influence, and especially dream killers, and snatchers. Trust the Process: By focusing on the experience you want to have and making choices based on your intention, you can trust that you are moving towards your goal, even if things look differently than you anticipated. “Start by doing what’s necessary; then do what’s possible; and suddenly you are doing the impossible. ~St Francis of Assisi Before we close I have a few activities you can do on your own to make this podcast “How to Eat an Elephant” stick. Deuteronomy 30:9 "Then the LORD your God will prosper you abundantly in all the work of your hand, in the offspring of your body and in the offspring of your cattle and in the produce of your ground, for the LORD will again rejoice over you for good, just as He rejoiced over your fathers; " Prayer: Let us Pray - Our Gracious and heavenly father, As I sit here opening myself up in prayer, I lift holy hands in total adoration to you. I am ever grateful, and thankful for just simply who you are. Lord, I thank you for going out ahead of me each day, I think you for rain and sunshine. …more of this wonderful and beautiful life. Amen. Today, as I meditate on where I am in my life, just on the other side of 50 and approaching a birthday later this week. I feel so blessed to have done so many wonderful, and fun things, having been blessed to experience and live the life that I have, and I am so grateful for all of it. As I peer back but while standing flatfooted looking forward to the promise of the future I am leaping for joy, and even more thankful for it all. A few weeks ago, I shared in a conversation with a colleague, she happens to be a physician and she discussed the fact that the neck does not allow us to turn our heads completely to the rear or to see what is behind us the same when in which we can see what is in front of us. She made a great point, and I expand it to think of it in this practical way. When you are driving your automobile, they all have rear view mirrors. One above in the middle, one on the left and another one on the right. And if your care is fancy, you may even have a rear camera with a screen, that will show you what is behind you while you are backing up…. With all this technology to stay safe while backing up or while switching lanes. The front window in combination with the side windows is one of the largest areas on the front of a car. I say that because there is a reason for that. It is simple it’s in the design…. Because looking forward is also how our heavenly father or higher power designed us - to look forward and not backward. I say all of this to emphasize the importance of when we look forward we put ourselves into a position to receive. Just like in basketball, we must be in the position to receive a pass, in football, our feet must be planted, and to go a step further - we must also be in bounds and have control over the ball after the catch, or it is ruled incomplete. It also means - To be ready for the day or Carpe Diem (to Seize the day), and this can never happen when we are not focused on moving forward. Nor can it happen when we are not focused on receiving, focused on the catch and most importantly focused on the abundance that is available just for us. Reserved in the library of life, with our names on it. Be ready for it and Be ready to receive it. I want you to get this, to plant it deep inside of you. What is important about abundance: Abundance is a Soul at Peace - what does it profit a woman to gain the whole world, and forfeit her soul? “For what will a woman give in exchange for her soul?” The evil one can offer you the world at a very high price. Never agree to pay or to the terms that lead you to going in the wrong direction – It will cost you more than you are willing to pay, it will take you to places you never intended to go, and don’t belong – and It will keep you longer than you ever intended to stay, - it JUST COST way TOOO MUCH. Abundance is contentment –The problem with all the counterfeits of the enemy and the world is that they leave us wanting more. We are not fulfilled, we wanted thanksgiving dinner but had fast food instead, and are still hungry. It leaves us just wanting more of the wrong things. … BUT the wonder of God is that His abundance comes with contentment. Here is what Paul said - “I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am. I know how to get along with humble means, and I also know how to live in prosperity; in any and every circumstance I have learned the secret of being filled and going hungry, both of having abundance and suffering need. Because - I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.” Contentment is not found in how much we have but in who has us. God offers us the heart of contentment that is found not in treasures here but an eternity with Him. Abundance is being free to be me - When I say free to be me, I to be the “me” that God created each one of us to be. You see abundance is found when we find and sought after and become what we were was made to be. This is no different that Daring2Dream. Daring to be bold, daring to try, dare to set out on faith and see what the end will be. This in part, is the major point of this podcast Dare2Dream. I am not saying these are easy to achieve in the times that we live. But try, try and never give up. Every day keep trying – Every Day keep doing the work, every day keep moving towards the high privilege of our calling… being free to live in the abundance of God our higher power and the Almighty alone. Welcome to the Dare to Dream Podcast with Rev. Lisa Ealy, Episode 2. Today, our episode “Focusing on your Goals” - to manifest your dream job. I want to take this time first to honor God as the head of my life and the director of all things Lisa including Dare2Dream. Please allow me to read a scripture into your hearing and follow with a prayer. Scripture: Phil 3:13-16 Beloved,[a] I do not consider that I have made it my own;[b] but this one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal for the prize of the heavenly[c]call of God in Christ Jesus. 15 Let those of us then who are mature be of the same mind; and if you think differently about anything, this too God will reveal to you. 16 Only let us hold fast to what we have attained. (NRSV) Let us pray – Gracious God, I’m not saying that I have this all together, that I have it made. But I am well on my way, reaching out for Christ, who has so wondrously reached out for me. Friends, don’t get me wrong: By no means do I count myself an expert in all of this, but I’ve got my eye on the goal, where God is beckoning me towards —to Jesus. I’m off and running, and I’m not turning back. So let’s keep focused on that goal, those of us who want everything God has for us. If any of you have something else in mind, something less than total commitment, God will clear your blurred vision—you’ll see it yet! Now that we’re on the right track let’s stay on it. Amen. Let jump right into our topic today “Focusing on your Goals” - to manifest your dream job. When we begin to focus on our Goal, we do something called pressing in or leaning in. So what is Press - It is a steadily applied weight or force, to move in a certain direction, Strain with urgency, haste or great attention. How fitting for our theme “Focus on the Goal, Press towards the goal.” Scripture Says to Press towards the High Calling of Jesus. And that is so applicable to our topic today. What I know to be true is that things that are high or sitting high are often hard or hardest to reach. We either must stretch, get on our tippy toes, get a stepping stool, or ask for help or unfortunately never reach what it is that we were reaching for in the first place. And that won’t do when we have a goal to reach and no time for delay. So, let’s keep on pressing, keep on reaching and keep on striving to reach and ultimately manifest our dream. Because the only time of truth is right now. We know that the gift of life is only given right now. We must learn to let go of past if we wish to experience our lives in the present. We must learn to let go of the pull of the future as well. I heard a wise woman say, “that is future tripping.” which is something that may not ever come to pass, but none the less we are spending today’s energy focusing on it. Then we have the past, the past is a memory to cherish and to grow from, and the future is promised to no one. Realize Deeply, that the present moment is all you have. “If your mind carries a heavy burden of past, you will experience more of the same. The past perpetuates itself through lack of presence. The quality of your consciousness at this moment is what shapes the future.” – Eckhart Tolle “My Presence is my Super Power to create the future I See and Want.” The Future God is calling all of us towards. Your goals, vision, and mission will drive your ability to achieve your dream career but not just that - it will also dive your ability to achieve your dream life and anything else you desire to manifest. Let me say that again – Your goals, vision, and mission will drive your ability to achieve your dream career but not just that - it will also drive your ability to achieve your dream life land anything else you desire to manifest. So, keep going - keep pressing - keep leaning in towards the prize of your highest calling, don’t hold yourself back, don’t allow fear or sticking thinking, the old self or the lizard brain to stop you. Learn to love the butterflies in your stomach and let them lead you onward towards your dream job and dream life. Just simply lean into the highest calling and look and see what happens. I recall when I was in my twenties… I attend a class at church during what we called them the Christian Institute. A week of intense Christian learning. The instructor talked about praying over our goals, but first shared the importance of writing them down, some call this making it plain. I call it capturing your dream planning. It does two things, it provides a focus for your prayer - but when you achieve, and you will achieve it - it is a reminder and will push you forward to achieve more than you ever thought possible. Now I do not want you to think that prayer is a magic formula or like fairy dust, but there are times when God ‘s answer to our prayer is Yes! But there are other times when the answers are - not yet, or wait and even NO. But we need to be careful about our prayers because God’s answer of no may men this is not for you. But don’t ever stop praying. No matter the answer. This also reminds me of how we need to heed to what God may be saying to us and perhaps we are praying for the wrong thing, and it is a sign to keep seeking his will and keep praying. But whatever the answer, do not give up hope in well doing. Your goal may be the journey itself. Let us now turn our attention to our homework for this podcast. There are a few things I need you to do these next few days as homework. What do you need to focus on? Identify if there is something holding you back? Write out 1-2 goals this week that can be accomplished in one week’s time. Journal/Meditate: I am being called to… I am being called. As I close, I have a few reminders. Psalm 90:12 “So teach us to number our days, that we may present to You a heart of wisdom.” Job 8:9 "For we are only of yesterday and know nothing because our days on earth are as a shadow.” Let us pray - Heavenly Father, we acknowledge your presence, as we take time to reclaim and claim our time. We are speaking life into our future selves. This is the time, the year that we will make time our own, take time to me to plan, to envision, time for self-care, time for fun, time for laughter, time for vacations, tome for meditation, journal, to be with you and to seek out your call for our dream job. Claim and name and every perfect gift come from you. Give us the time to take the time and make the most of our time. Hi, I am Rev. Lisa Ealy, and I am the founder of Dare2Dream. Let jump right into our topic today “Claiming or reclaiming our time. The time we have is important. Time is a precious gift. Once it is past or expired, we can never go back. For me, I am placing a stake a hold on my time. Yesterday’s time is but a memory. Sometimes a found memory, sometimes it’s a nightmare, and we move quacking to get to the next day some it can fade away. But either way, time is so critically important. The importance is more so related what we do with our time. What we can accomplish, and how we utilize the time we have, and the memories we might create along with new experience time gives to us. I ask myself why am I in a hurry to get things done I rush and rush until life’s no fun. I am not talking about using my time in this way. I am talking about savoring my time, cherishing my time, placing importance on my time. Understanding the significance time has and the importance of it. Realizing that time is precious, time is not being wasted nor flaunted, my time is worth so much, and I so little of it to give, and none of it to waste. Time is all we have; My time is now, My time is my own, my time, yes to say it differently This is MY time. So, women of God I am taking MY Time back… No, I am claiming and reclaiming my Time. Time is our most precious resource. It is perishable and irreplaceable. God in his grace has given us all the same amount – 24 hours per day. The quality, joy, and impact of our lives are directly related to how wisely we use the time we have. In addition to our ability to manifest our dreams is a direct relation to how we use each and every 24 hours we are given. The important thing about time is we have to preserve it in how we utilize it. The first step to utilizing out time to the fullest is to declutter. The question is - What is clutter and why do I need to declutter? Clutter is what is taking up space related to your time, your energy, and the spaces you live, work and spend time in and around. This is a critical step in manifesting your dream job because when we are bogged down with clutter and the weight of too many things going on or happening all at once or even the clutter associated with too much news and too much meaningless television. Our minds, bodies, and spirits are full of this, and there is no room for anything new let alone an ability to focus on Manifesting our Dream Jobs. There are a few things I need you to do these next few days as homework. Take Inventory, Log how you spend your time. (Track it for 24-48 hours including one typical weekday and one weekend day) Inventory your workspace, your home, and your car. (taking note of what is there and what is there that is just taking up space.) Inventory your spending habits. Capture all of the results and then think about these questions: How do you feel about what you learned? Is there anything you need to change? If so make it into the form of a goal. For Example: Beginning on May 1, I will limit my television time to 2 hours per week. Once you complete this activity, then begin considering how you want to begin to spend your time. And as you stop some activities don’t focus on what you are giving up but focus on what you will be gaining. And then begin to think about your goals. Lord we pause in prayer to give your name honor and glory, may this new Podcast Dare2Dream reach beyond, above and around each and every obstacle to provide the women this podcast with reach, the ability to break free and do what you have called them specifically to do, allow them here and now to manifest their dream, give them wisdom to be daring, to be bold and be gratefully to give your name the hone and glory. Daring to dream may feel like an elusive goal, but that is why I am here. You see I have been daring to dream my entire life. Ultimately, this Podcast is about taking the leap to Dare2Dream and put one foot in front of the other with the needed and required guidance, prayer, tools and information to manifest your dream job sooner. The truth is that I am sure it will assist you with your dream job search, but it will also help in your life as well.
