Pronta/o a seguirmi nell'ascolto? NavaDurga symbolizes nine forms of adi-shakti – Goddess Durga. During Navratri, we awaken the energy aspect of Godhead in the personification of the universal mother Goddess Durga, which precisely betokens the remover of grief in life. She is commonly famous with the name “NavaDurga”, “Devi” (goddess), or “Shakti” (energy or power). So, Navratri's nine nights were considered to be very auspicious to worship the nine planets and nine divinities. Names of 9 forms of Maa Durg are Shailputri, Brahmacharini, Chandraghanta, Kushmanda, Skandamata, Katyayani, Kalaratri, Mahagauri, and Siddhidhatri. Shailputri Shailputri is the first form of NavaDurga; and is also known as Bhavani, Parvati, or Hemavati. She is known to be the earthly essence. Maa Shailputri is the major and the absolute form of the Goddess. Since she was the wife to Lord Shiva and is known as Parvati. She took birth as the daughter of Lord Himalaya; due to which she is named Shailputri – the daughter of mountains. Her deity has a half-moon on her forehead and holds a trident in her right hand & a lotus flower in her left hand. The Goddess can be seen seated on mount Nandi (bull). Ashish P. “When Krishna saw the full moon night of the sharat season, He decorated Himself with various seasonal flowers, especially the mallika flowers, which are very fragrant, He remembered the gopis' prayers to goddess Katyayani, wherein they prayed for Krishna to be their husband. He thought that the full night of the sharat season was just suitable for a nice dance. So their desire to have Krishna as their husband would then be fulfilled.” (Krishna, The Supreme Personality of Godhead, Vol 1, Ch 29)
