Au Royaume-Uni la victoire des travaillistes parait assurée aux législatives prévues ce jeudi 4 juillet. La gauche britannique est plébiscitée, y compris à la City, traditionnellement acquise aux conservateurs. L'engouement de la City et des patrons britanniques est massif. Et concret : depuis décembre les dons effectués par les patrons en faveur du parti travailliste dépassent largement le montant des cotisations versées par les syndicats, les financiers historiques du Labour. En février les places vendues pour la présentation du programme économique du parti de la gauche sont parties en deux heures. Et ce programme a convaincu. Selon un sondage effectué à la mi-juin auprès des investisseurs, une large majorité d'entre eux estime qu'il fera bien mieux que le parti conservateur sur le plan économique.L'onction de la presse libéraleLes travaillistes ont même reçu hier l'onction de la presse libérale. Le Financial Times, le quotidien de la City, comme l'hebdomadaire The Economist, ont pris position en faveur du Labour, parce qu'ils estiment qu'il est à même de sortir l'économie britannique du gouffre où les conservateurs l'ont plongée en quatorze ans de pouvoir. Pour la City, le référendum sur le Brexit est leur péché originel. Le divorce avec l'Union européenne était contraire aux convictions, et aux intérêts de la place financière. C'est aussi la décision qui va accélérer la déliquescence de l'économie britannique.
