*(Disclaimer: The content in this video is intended for educational and informational purposes only)*Aurora, Colorado — On May 12, 2025, about 3 p.m., Aurora Police Department received a 911 call about a suspicious person trespassing at an offsite airport parking lot in the 19900 block of East 56th Avenue. The caller reported there was a male on the property checking vehicle door handles and refusing to leave. An Aurora police patrol officer responded about 5:15 p.m. Once at the scene, staff members reported the suspect was still on the property and was becoming more aggressive with employees. The officer located the suspect, later identified as 32-year-old Rashad Terrelle Johnson, and attempted to speak with him. About one minute later, Johnson charged the officer and there was a fight. Aurora911 received additional calls from people at the parking lot reporting that an officer needed help. The officer attempted to use less lethal devices to gain control of Johnson. Those attempts were unsuccessful. The officer also gave Johnson multiple commands, but Johnson refused to follow the officer's directions, and an officer-involved shooting occurred. Additional officers responded and provided first aid to Johnson until medical responders arrived at the scene. Johnson was taken to a local hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries. Johnson died shortly after his arrival at the hospital. The officer also was taken to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries he sustained during the fight.=================================Subscribe to Shots Fired Podcast Here:➡️ YouTube: @shotsfiredpodcast50 ==============Ways to reach the Shots Fired Podcast Team:==============
Bernd Bender, Dharma Talk given on May 11th, 2025 via Zoom for JissoJi Zen Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA.How can we practice peace, an “unarmed and disarming peace, humble and persevering,” as the new pope put it recently? Aren‘t the forces that hinder the free flowing of living life getting stronger every day? In this dharma talk Bernd addresses these questions from the viewpoint of Zen practice. In a time when totalitarian ideologues inject resentment and fear in order to control our minds Zazen has almost subversive qualities. Whenever we practice we're de-occupying our minds, thereby finding an inner posture that is unhindered and without fear, a stance from which we can respond appropriately to the cries of the world.--Bernd Bender, Dharma-Vortrag am 11.05.2025, gehalten per Zoom für JissoJi Zen Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA.Wie können wir Frieden praktizieren, einen „unbewaffneten und entwaffnenden Frieden, bescheiden und beharrend,“ wie es der neue Papst vor Kurzem ausdrückte? Support the show
It's Tuesday, May 20th, A.D. 2025. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 125 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Kevin Swanson Fulani Muslim killed 15 unarmed Nigerian Christians On Saturday, May 17th, armed Fulani Muslim militia opened fire on Agatu Christians in Benue State, Nigeria, killing 15 unarmed men. Throughout that North Central region, the Fulani have also killed 159 Christian residents over the last 40 days, according to TruthNigeria.com. Pray for Christians in Nigeria, suffering the most severe violence in the world today. Romania turns left after election interference On Sunday, Romania has taken the centrist-left position with the election of a new president named Nicușor Dan. Dan is supportive of Romania's participation in the European Union, and has made moves to approve the homosexual/transgender movement in his country. The more conservative candidate, George-Nicolae Simion, lost the election in a vote of 54% to 46%. Romania is the second largest Eastern European country by population. The mainstream media is interpreting this election as an international rejection of the Trump agenda. The back story is that Călin Georgescu, the conservative in the first round of the Romanian presidential election last December, garnered the most votes among the six presidential candidates at that time. After his opponents claimed that Russia had influenced the election through TikTok accounts, Romanian government officials detained Georgescu, canceled that election, and re-set it for May 18th. Tens of thousands of Romanians protested in the streets back in March. At the time, Elon Musk said, “They just arrested the person who won the most votes in the Romanian presidential election. This is messed up.” Most and least benevolent countries According to this year's Gallup World Happiness Report, the most benevolent countries in the world, judged by donations and volunteer hours, are Indonesia, the United States, Kenya, Gambia, United Arab Emirates, Ireland, Canada, and New Zealand. The least benevolent countries are Afghanistan, Yemen, Egypt, Jordan, and Morocco. Biden announces advanced prostate cancer Former President Joe Biden has been diagnosed with an "aggressive form" of prostate cancer that has spread to his bones, reports CBS News. On Sunday, President Trump posted on social media that he and First Lady Melania Trump are "saddened to hear about Joe Biden's recent medical diagnosis." Appearing on MSNBC's “Morning Joe” on Monday, former Obama health advisor Dr. Zeke Emanuel said the cancer is so advanced, he has had it for many years. SCARBOROUGH: “Doesn't it take some time for prostate cancer to develop to a point where it would spread to the bones?” EMANUEL: “He's had this for many years, maybe even a decade, growing there and spreading.” Dr. Emanuel explained how serious Biden's prostate cancer truly is. EMANUEL: “That Gleason score, that score is from 2 up to 10, and he's at a 9. That means that the cancer doesn't look normal. It looks very abnormal.” Appearing on Fox News with Jesse Waters, talk show host Hugh Hewitt was incredulous. HEWITT: “This is the fourth time, in a little over 100 years, that a Democratic president -- Woodrow Wilson, FDR, John F. Kennedy and now Joe Biden, have hidden crucial details about their health as Commander-in-Chief from the American people. Ronald Reagan did not do that. “And it just astonishes me that in a free republic, we have to worry about our leaders telling us whether they're healthy or not.” Supremes allows Trump to revoke protection for thousands of illegal Venezuelans On Monday, the U.S. Supreme Court issued a ruling allowing the Trump administration to deport 350,000 Venezuelans who are presently living in the U.S. on what they call a “humanitarian parole,” reports NBC News. Christian camp sues over foolish transgender mandates The State of Colorado is threatening to shut down a Christian Camp called Idrahaje -- short for “I'd Rather Have Jesus.” The Colorado Department of Early Childhood has refused to grant the camp a religious exemption concerning its transgender policies. This would require the camp to allow boys, pretending to be girls, to sleep, shower, and dress with female campers. The camp has sued the state, with representation from Alliance Defending Freedom. The camp disciples 2,500 to 3,000 students each year with the mission to “win souls to Jesus Christ through the spreading of the Gospel.” Camp Idrahaje has complied with all regulations until this year when the Colorado government officials released new gender identity rules that became effective on February 14, 2025. 96% of atheists embrace homosexual/transgender agenda The most likely group in America to support the homosexual/transgender agenda are atheists with 96% professing support. By contrast, 70% of white Evangelical Protestants oppose the lifestyle. Psalm 14:1 describes the atheist this way: "The fool has said in his heart, there is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works.” Mother loses right to disciple daughter Liberty Counsel is defending a mother in the state of Maine who has lost the right to guide the religious upbringing of her 11-year-old girl in a custody case. This includes taking her daughter to Calvary Chapel services on Sunday. A state district judge has ruled against the mother, citing “The ‘fear mongering,' paranoia, and anxiety taught by Calvary Chapel has, more likely than not, already had an impact on [the daughter's] childhood development.” Expert testimony concluded that Calvary Chapel is a cult, the church's pastor a “charismatic” speaker, who spoke “authoritatively” in his messages, and that he asserted his messages were objective truth. Liberty Counsel is appealing the case to the Maine Supreme Court. They still persecute people who preach about Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 2:14-16 says, “For you also suffered the same things from your own countrymen, just as they did from the Judeans, who killed both the Lord Jesus and their own prophets, and have persecuted us; and they do not please God and are contrary to all men, forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles that they may be saved, so as always to fill up the measure of their sins; but wrath has come upon them to the uttermost.” Housing prices sag Since June 2022, housing prices are sagging in some metro areas around the U.S. — 22.8% in the Austin market, 9.9% in the Phoenix market, 9.2% in the San Francisco market, 9.1% in the San Antonio Market, 7.3% in the Denver market, and 6.7% in the Dallas Market. The Consumer Price Index has also risen about 10% over that period of time. Moody's downgraded America's financial rating And finally, in a year-over-year comparison, the U.S. government is still breaking records for fiscal expenditures running 10% over Fiscal Year 2024. Moody's has downgraded the U.S. as a long-term issuer of bonds by one notch, ending a perfect rating for America over the last 108 years. No longer does the U.S, government get a Aaa rating, the highest level available. Now, it's an Aa1. Moody's noted that the downgrade "reflects the increase over more than a decade in government debt and interest payment ratios to levels that are significantly higher than similarly rated sovereigns.” The rating organization added that: “Successive U.S. administrations and Congress have failed to agree on measures to reverse the trend of large annual fiscal deficits and growing interest costs.” Another independent rating service, named Fitch, downgraded the United States in 2023. In the 80s, the idea of special acoustic or unplugged albums and shows became a new medium that continues to today. Most think that Mtv started the movement in 1989 with their series called “unplugged”, however, most rock bands were playing acoustic renditions of their songs on radio when they would do in-town promotions long before then. This week we are celebrating bands that can re-imagine their songs with acoustic instruments and still rock! We are pulling the plug… and gasping for air guitars! What's this InObscuria thing? We're a podcast that exhumes obscure Rock n' Punk n' Metal and puts them in one of 3 categories: the Lost, the Forgotten, or the Should Have Beens. Mtv started a series in 1989 called “unplugged”, and almost every mainstream relevant act started producing acoustic albums or versions of their songs. This week we listen to some artist that you may have never considered as having acoustic interpretations of their songs.Songs this week include:The Struts – “Fallin' With Me” from Unplugged At EastWest - EP (2023)Kingdom Come – “Janine” from Live & Unplugged (1998)Helloween – “Future World” from Unarmed (2009) Wednesday 13 – “Scary Song” from Undead Unplugged (2014)Corey Taylor – “Lunatic Fringe” from CMFB… Sides (2022)Courage My Love – “For Now” from For Now (Acoustic Sessions) (2012)MSG – “Lights Out” from Unplugged Live (1993) Please subscribe everywhere that you listen to podcasts!Visit us: https://inobscuria.com/https://www.facebook.com/InObscuriahttps://x.com/inobscuriahttps://www.instagram.com/inobscuria/Buy cool stuff with our logo on it!: https://www.redbubble.com/people/inobscuria/og-shopCheck out Robert's amazing fire sculptures and metal workings here: http://flamewerx.com/If you'd like to check out Kevin's band THE SWEAR, take a listen on all streaming services or pick up a digital copy of their latest release here: https://theswear.bandcamp.com/If you want to hear Robert and Kevin's band from the late 90s – early 00s BIG JACK PNEUMATIC, check it out here: https://bigjackpnuematic.bandcamp.com/

Sonya Massey shooting: Illinois police release bodycam video of fatal shooting of Black woman in her homeCNN, By Eric Levenson, Jillian Sykes and Brad Parks, on July 23, 2024https://www.cnn.com/2024/07/22/us/sonya-massey-police-shooting/index.htmlA distressing case of police brutality involving the death of a Black woman, Sonia Massi. Sonia, a 36-year-old mother of two, called the police for help because she suspected an issue nearby. The police arrived at her home, and the situation escalated tragically, resulting in Sonia's death. The incident, reported by CNN, involved an officer named Grayson, whose troubling history includes misconduct in the Army, multiple DUIs, and several complaints about his behavior as a police officer. Despite this, he managed to secure six different police jobs in four years, reflecting severe flaws in the system's background checks and accountability measures. The discussion highlights the bizarre circumstances leading to the shooting. Sonia jokingly said, "I rebuke you in the name of Jesus," which seemed to trigger Grayson. He appeared to take this joke seriously, displaying a panic that led to a fatal overreaction. The conversation delves into whether Grayson's religious beliefs might have influenced his extreme response, raising concerns about the impact of such beliefs on police behavior and training.Eli, one of the hosts, emphasizes the rapid escalation and unnecessary use of force, pointing out that the officer's immediate reaction was to draw his gun. This leads to a broader discussion on the need for better police training focused on de-escalation and handling various situations without resorting to violence.Cindy suggests several systemic solutions, including a national database to track fired police officers, thorough background checks, and improved training on de-escalation techniques. The episode underscores the urgent need for comprehensive reform to prevent such tragic incidents from occurring in the future. The hosts conclude that addressing these systemic issues is crucial to ensuring accountability and safety in law enforcement. The Non-Prophets, Episode 23.31.1 featuring Infidel64, Cindy Plaza, Eli Slack and Kelley LaughlinBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-non-prophets--3254964/support.

Last summer, Hunter spoke with Central Florida criminal defense attorney Andrew Darling to discuss Governor DeSantis removing State Attorney Monique Worrell from office. At the time, Andrew and Hunter expressed their concerns that the primary reason for the removal was due to Worrell's willingness to prosecute cops. Today, Andrew is back to share how those fears have come to reality. In 2020, Andrew's client was shot by a cop. Originally, Worrell pursued the case, but with her gone, it took the new State Attorney just under 9 months to drop the case, but for a reason that you have to hear to believe. The war in Gaza has killed more than 25,000 Palestinians, according to the Gaza health ministry. Our colleagues at Independent Television News sent evidence of one more death, an apparently unarmed man walking with a group of men under a white flag with their hands up. Their crew in Gaza documented the killing and John Irvine reports from Israel. A warning, this story includes images of violence. Ralph has a new book out, The Rebellious CEO: 12 Leaders Who Did It Right and in this episode, we profile three of them, Andy Shallal, owner of the restaurant “Busboys and Poets,” John Bogle, founder of the Vanguard Group, and Robert Townsend, iconoclastic CEO of Avis Rent-a-Car and author of the classic business book “Up The Organization!” Mr. Shallal joins us in person while financial advisor and Boglehead, Rick Ferri, talks to us about the late John Bogle and Robert Townsend Jr. explains the origins of his father's philosophy. Plus, Ralph gives us an update and a call to action on Gaza.Click on the link to order your copy of The Rebellious CEO.Andy Shallal is an activist, artist and social entrepreneur. Mr. Shallal is the founder and proprietor of Busboys and Poets restaurants in the Washington DC area, which feature prominent speakers, poets and authors and provide a venue for social and political activism. He is co-founder of The Peace Cafe, a member of the board of trustees for The Institute for Policy Studies, and a member of the advisory council for the American Museum of Peace. The whole idea of this book The Rebellious CEO is to show that these CEOs reverse the business model. They didn't just have a vision and say, “We're gonna squeeze workers and consumers and environmental indifference to maximize the profits.” No, they started out saying, “We're gonna treat the workers well. We're gonna treat the consumers well. We're gonna confront the environment. We're gonna speak out against injustice.” And they all made money. Every one of them in the book said they always paid attention to profits because without profits they couldn't do all the things they wanted to do.Ralph Nader, author of “The Rebellious CEO”It becomes very personal. And when it's personal, it's hard to separate yourself from the business. So everything that happens in the business, it's not a one -off, it's about me. If the business is treating my employees badly, it means Andy Shallal is treating his people badly. That's a very personal way [of looking at it] and it's a way for I think a lot of these folks that you write about in the book to kind of stay on mission and say, “This is my name. This is my legacy. This is my entire being that is on the line.”Andy ShallalUnderstanding those dynamics and how race plays out in this country and how people interpret and see race is really a very important part of our training— to make sure that people do not fall into the trap of saying, “I don't see race,” because race sees you. And unless you are proactive in how you deal with people as they walk through the door, you're gonna probably make mistakes.Andy ShallalRick Ferri has worked for 35 years as a financial adviser and he is the host of the Bogleheads on Investing podcast. Mr. Ferri was a pioneer in low-fee investment advice and portfolio management using ETFs and index funds, he has authored 7 investment books and hundreds of articles published in Forbes, the Wall Street Journal, and several professional journals, and he is the former president of the John C Bogle Center for Financial Literacy.[John Bogle] was very determined. He believed in giving investors a fair shake on Wall Street. He believed that we should get our fair share of market returns. He believed that there was a conflict of interest in the investment industry between the people who owned the investment companies and the investors in those companies—the people who bought the mutual funds. And he said, "You cannot serve two masters."Rick FerriThat's our mission—to build a world of well-informed, capable, and empowered investors. And that's what the Bogle Center and the Bogleheads are all about.Rick FerriRobert Townsend, Jr. is the son of Robert Townsend, who was president of Avis Rent A Car from 1962 to 1965 and was the author of the best-selling and iconoclastic business manual Up the Organization: How to Stop the Corporation from Stifling People and Strangling Profits.[Robert Townsend, Sr.] was definitely iconically an iconoclast, but I don't think he saw himself that way. He didn't just believe in partnership. He saw that—and teamwork— were the only things to accomplish. So he found, just through serendipity or synchronicity, partners everywhere he looked.Robert Townsend, Jr.[Robert Townsend, Sr.] embarked on a new career of consulting…He would come back from consulting with somebody or other, finding out, “All they wanted was me to tell them they were doing it right. And nothing I said actually made any difference.”Robert Townsend, Jr.In Case You Haven't Heard with Francesco DeSantis1. The tide seems to finally be shifting in favor of a ceasefire in Gaza. Democracy Now! Reports “British Foreign Secretary David Cameron and German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock called for a ‘sustainable ceasefire' in a joint article in The Sunday Times. The pair said efforts should be focused on a two-state solution after the assault comes to an end. The U.K. and Germany had previously declined to call for a ceasefire and abstained from voting last week on the U.N. General Assembly's ceasefire resolution. Also on Sunday, French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna called for an ‘immediate and durable truce' while meeting with her Israeli counterpart Eli Cohen in Tel Aviv, saying ‘too many civilians are being killed' in Gaza. This comes as U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin arrived in Israel earlier today, where he is expected to focus talks on transitioning to a ‘lower intensity' war.'”2. Many wonder why these countries are changing their position so abruptly. One explanation could be the efficacy of the Red Sea blockade enforced by the Yemeni Houthis. Thus far, five of the largest shipping firms in the world, including CMA CGM, Hapag-Lloyd, Maersk and MSC, along with Evergreen and BP, have “paused or suspended their services in the Red Sea,” due to Houthi attacks, per the Economist. Collectively, these firms represent over 60% of global shipping. In response, the United States has announced its intention to form a naval bloc to combat the Houthis, risking further escalation in the region.3. Haaretz reports that Al Jazeera is “preparing a legal file to send to the International Criminal Court (ICC) over what it called the ‘assassination' of one of its cameramen in Gaza.” The ICC complaint focuses on a cameraman, Samer Abu Daqqa, who was “killed by a drone strike on Friday [December 15th] while reporting on the earlier bombing of a school used as a shelter for displaced people in the southern Gaza Strip,” but will “also encompass recurrent attacks on the Network's crews working and operating in the occupied Palestinian territories and instances of incitement against them." The Committee to Protect Journalists reports at least 64 journalists and media workers have been killed in Gaza since October 7th.4. On Sunday, Pope Francis decried the murder of two Palestinian Christian women who had taken refuge in a church complex in Gaza, Reuters reports. The Pope mourned that "Unarmed civilians are the objects of bombings and shootings. And this happened even inside the Holy Family parish complex, where there are no terrorists, but families, children, people who are sick or disabled, nuns…Some would say 'It is war. It is terrorism.' Yes, it is war. It is terrorism."5. According to NBC Bay Area, “At least hundreds of union members rallied at Oakland City Hall Saturday to call for a ceasefire… The ‘Labor for Palestine' rally brought out members from 14 unions across the Bay Area [including longshore workers, teachers, electricians, and nurses]. In addition to the call for the cease-fire, a statement put out by organizers said it also wanted the U.S. to stop providing military aid to Israel and ‘an end to Israel's occupation.' Organizers also said the rally was the first such labor-led rally in the U.S. this year.”6. AP reports Tesla is recalling “nearly all vehicles sold in [the] US,” following a two-year investigation by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, or NHTSA, regarding “a series of crashes [some deadly] that happened while the Autopilot partially automated driving system was in use.” Dillon Angulo, a driver who suffered brain trauma and broken bones in one such crash, said “This technology is not safe, we have to get it off the road…The government has to do something about it. We can't be experimenting like this.”7. Upon taking office, one of President Biden's stated foreign policy goals was to overturn Trump's designation of Cuba as a state sponsor of terror. Yet, according to the Intercept “in a private briefing last week on Capitol Hill, State Department official Eric Jacobstein stunned members of Congress by telling them that the department has not even begun the review process.” As the article notes, “The terror designation makes it difficult for Cubans to do international business, crushing an already fragile economy. The U.S. hard-line approach to Cuba has coincided with a surge in desperate migration, with Cubans now making up a substantial portion of the migrants arriving at the southern border. Nearly 425,000 Cubans have fled for the United States in fiscal years 2022 and 2023, shattering previous records. Instead of moving to stem the flow by focusing on root causes in Cuba, the Biden White House has been signaling support in recent days for Republican-backed border policies.”8. In Chile, voters have rejected a far-right proposed new constitution, per PBS. As the article notes, this vote “came more than a year after Chileans resoundingly rejected a proposed constitution written by a left-leaning convention and one that many characterized as one of the world's most progressive charters.” The new, right-wing draft was characterized as even more conservative than the Pinochet-era constitution it sought to replace as it would have “deepened free-market principles, reduced state intervention and might have limited some women's rights.” As ex-president Michele Bachelet, who campaigned against the new draft constitution said “I prefer something bad to something worse.”9. In Argentina, radical right-wing President Javier Milei has announced a crackdown on civil society, “calling on armed forces to break strikes, arrest protesters, ‘protect' children from families that bring them to demo[nstration]s, and form a new national registry of all agitating organisations,” per Progressive International's David Adler. While unsurprising, this clearly flies in the face of Milei's purported ‘anarcho-capitalist' principles.10. Finally, did Southwest Airlines cancel or significantly delay your flight during the holiday season last year? If so, you could be entitled to a $75 voucher as part of the Department of Transportation's record $140 million settlement with the airline, per the Hill. Under the settlement, which the Department of Transportation claims is the largest ever penalty against an airline for violating consumer protection laws, the airline is required to establish a $90 million compensation system to be used for passengers affected by “controllable cancellations and significant delays,” in addition to paying $35 million to the federal government. Last December's Southwest “meltdown” included “more than 16,900 flights…canceled or delayed…affect[ing] more than 2 million passengers around the holidays.”This has been Francesco DeSantis, with In Case You Haven't Heard. We are witnessing a great American gaslighting. When the media is saying the Allen, TX mall shooter is a Hispanic White Supremacist, the border currently getting invaded is actually closed, and Jordan Neely, a man with 42 prior arrests including attempted kidnapping and assault is a "beloved street performer" there's something terribly wrong. Producer Andrew steps in for Charlie to cover the truth behind these misleading headlines while providing a critical update on the Southern Border and the end of Title 42. He is also joined by Mark W. Smith to discuss his book "Unarmed" and why the left's arguments following any tragedy always fall short of addressing the root cause of gun crime.Support the show: http://www.charliekirk.com/supportSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
