In this episode Esther Longe and I talk about our lives walking with the Holy Spirit and how you can too. The Holy Spirit often is the most ignored person of the trinity. We talk about the beauty of a life with Him and how He helps us, comforts us, prunes us and makes us more like Christ. The gift of having the Holy Spirit abide within us is something we must come to understand to truly rest in God. The Holy Spirit is a person, one we have to intimately know, one who reveals Jesus to us daily. Let this episode set a fire in your heart to know Him more!As always, follow us on instagram @youcanrestherepod

Your Hope-Filled Perspective with Dr. Michelle Bengtson podcast
Episode Summary: Do you ever wonder about God's calling on your life? What does the Bible say about God's calling on your life? What does it mean when God is calling you? In this episode, I talk with Rachelle Starr. At the age of 23, she God called her to share the hope of Jesus to women in the adult entertainment industry. This led her to love people through their pain and her pain as she walked out God's calling on her life in outrageous obedience. You won't want to miss this episode! Quotables from the episode: One of the best things my parents did for me was to teach me who Jesus was and what he did for me. Learning about God's calling on your life begins praying for purpose and the people God wants you to reach. Ask God and invite him in to speak to you about your calling. In pursuing your God-given calling, consider prayer and fasting as well as silence and solitude to hear God's voice and receive his direction. Pray and ask God to give you eyes to see who God wants you to minister to. Fear, inadequacy, and doubt freeze us from living out our call. Outrageous obedience is about living out the great commission. When you come up against darkness, you become grateful for the salvation Jesus died for you to have. Stepping out in faith and doing something that the world says is crazy can be extremely hard and scary. But it's important to remember that if God calls us to something, He also equips us. Outrageous obedience to God is rooted in a relationship with Him. Sometimes we over-complicate things. If you are daily soaking in the Word and spending time with your Heavenly Father, He will guide your steps. It is God's faithfulness (and not our own!) that fuels our calling. The best thing you can do is just take it one step at a time. Before I did anything, I simply prayed. Because our faithful God goes with you, you can be a light where it's dark. You ARE good enough. When God calls you, he also equips you. Scripture References: Matthew 28:18-20 (ESV) The Great Commission: “Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Isaiah 61:1-3 (ESV) The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor; he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound; to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn; to grant to those who mourn in Zion— to give them a beautiful headdress instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, the garment of praise instead of a faint spirit; that they may be called oaks of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he may be glorified. 1 John 4:19 (ESV) “We love because he first loved us.” Matthew 28:18-20 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 17:20 He replied, “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” Esther 4:14 For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father's family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?” Recommended Resources: Outrageous Obedience by Rachelle Starr Today is Going to be a Good Day: 90 Promises to Start Your Day Off Right by Dr. Michelle Bengtson YouVersion 7-Day Devotional, Today is Going to be a Good Day YouVersion 7-Day Devotional, Today is Going to be Another Good Day Breaking Anxiety's Grip: How to Reclaim the Peace God Promises by Dr. Michelle Bengtson Breaking Anxiety's Grip Free Study Guide Free 7-Day YouVersion Bible Reading Plan for Breaking Anxiety's Grip Hope Prevails: Insights from a Doctor's Personal Journey Through Depression by Dr. Michelle Bengtson, winner of the Christian Literary Award Reader's Choice Award Hope Prevails Bible Study by Dr. Michelle Bengtson, winner of the Christian Literary Award Reader's Choice Award Trusting God Through Cancer 1 Trusting God Through Cancer 2 Revive & Thrive Women's Conference Subdue Stress and Anxiety: Fifteen Experts Offer Comprehensive Tools in Ten Minutes a Day. In this episode of We Are Vineyard, Jay talks with Diane Bauman about her work with people who find themselves in crisis pregnancy situations. Diane shares about navigating the different outcomes of her own unplanned pregnancies as a teenager, how she met Jesus, and her experiences as a ministry leader in the church while carrying a lot of pain and trauma from the losses she endured growing up. Diane recounts the transformational experience of finding forgiveness in a post-abortion support group and shares about the way God is repurposing her story to work with women locally and abroad through Value Life ministry at Vineyard Columbus. Diane Bauman is the Value Life, Transitions and Orphan Care Ministries Pastor at Vineyard Columbus. After a 20-year corporate career, she came on staff in 1999 as Volunteer Coordinator and leader of the pro-life ministry which later became Value Life. The ministry started in 1993 and has grown under Diane's leadership into a ministry serving hundreds of women each year. She is passionate about caring for women in unexpected or crisis pregnancies as well as those who have experienced the pain of abortion, miscarriage or early infant death. Diane experienced an unexpected pregnancy at the age of 15 and found the courage to stay in school and graduate with honors, so she understands firsthand the hardships faced by many of the women the Value Life ministry serves. In addition to her service to women and babies, she loves helping people discover what they are created by God to be, flower gardening, cooking, and reading. Diane and her husband Roy have been married for 46 years, they have 4 adult children, 14 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Rev. David Boisclair of Faith and Bethesda Lutheran Church in Pine Lawn, MO joins Rev. Brady Finnern to study I John 1:5-10. John heard, saw, & touched the good news of Christ and now he proclaims it to others: God is light, His cleansing, and His forgiveness by His blood. He warns us to re-think how we speak about sin as our Old Adam can say, “I'm not that bad of a sinner” but if that was true, why did Jesus die on the cross? If we aren't that bad, then we deny what God tells us about sin. As we confess our sins, our loving Father has given the final sacrifice of His Son that we have full forgiveness. Don't make God a liar about sin, but walk in the Light and know that He is a forgiver! “In Him there is no darkness at all. The night and the day are both alike. The Lamb is the light of the city of God. Shine in my heart, Lord Jesus" (Lutheran Service Book 411, "I Want to Walk as a Child of the Light").
