It's always fun to get together with my teacher pals, but it was even "funner" to get together at my new favorite Southeast Asian restaurant, Lime Tree!  Loan, Vicky, Jackie, and I got together right before our Spring Break to talk about AAPI history, facts, and historical figures.  Pictured here is the Tape family, their 8-year-old daughter, Mamie, was part of a Supreme Court case which led to the desegregation of schools in America in 1885.   I hope you learn something and have fun at the same time! Fact check: I said George W. Bush signed AAPI Heritage Month into law... but it was his dad George H.W. Bush who signed it in 1992.  (Loan knew it... but I blew it) We recorded at Lime Tree in SF's Richmond District, and as a special treat, we got to interview the owner Ming too!  (We stayed for dinner, we're not sponsored by them, but I can tell you that the food is super yummy and you should go!) https://www.yelp.com/biz/lime-tree-southeast-asian-kitchen-san-francisco-2 Thanks to my guests and our host Ming for making it a really fun and delicious night! The tennis might be over, but the distinctive sweet green smell of tennis courts warmed by the summertime heat remains on our minds. In Imaginary Authors' The Soft Lawn, perfumer Josh Meyer recreates this distinctive olfactory memory. Sophisticated layers of green - from the hissy, the grassy, and to the sparkly - form a harmony of scent. With tints of citrus, blossom-scented air, and a rush of crisp aquatic freshness, The Soft Lawn is a surefire ace. It's available at our Emporium boutique and online store. Clarification: The 'Linden Blossom Tree' is not part of the citrus family, however it's commonly referred to as Lime Tree or Lime Blossom Tree in Europe. The Posterity Podcast is edited and presented by Nigel Dugdale. "In The Posterity Podcast, I will introduce you to a diverse range of voices from across many sectors in Limerick society. Some you will know, others maybe not so much. "I hope this podcast will capture the voices of those who see Limerick as home, I hope to get an understanding of what makes them tick and to discover their hopes and dreams for Limerick at a time when so much opportunity is in our grasp. "The official definition of posterity relates to all future generations of people. These people of the future could be your children, your grandchildren or great grandchildren, or any people born after you. "So every decision we make today, be it by those in power, in business circles, or in community development will affect the lives of those coming behind us. "This podcast will tell people stories, capture their voices for posterity and delve into the ideas ambition and hopes that they have as we prepare for and sow the seeds for the Limerick of tomorrow. "I hope you join me on this journey. I hope you enjoy listening to the stories you hear and most of all, I hope some of what you hear will inspire you. "Do get in contact with me if you have any suggestions for future guests, questions I might ask or just general feedback on the show. Contact Nigel Dugdale on Twitter: @limerickcitybiz

I started listening to Trevor Hall back in 2009 when my yoga studio played him in a heavy rotation. His music soon made its way onto my own playlists when I started teaching yoga myself. After speaking with him this week on the podcast I learned that his career in the music industry had a tumultuous start which including getting dropped from his label, living in a monastery, and eventually making a hit album. Beyond his music he's one of the most wise, peaceful, and dynamic people I've met.  We talked about music as a tool, meditation, surrender, learning vs. applying practices, saturn returns,  using astrology for self-awareness, traveling, staying grounded, relationships as mirrors, culture, connection, indecisiveness, and more. Phil started the new year off with an introduction to our week of prayer looking at a prophetic word spoken over Church in the Peak in November 2017. The word relates to us being at a turning point. Also, Justyn gave an update on the building works being carried out at The Lime Tree. To view the prophetic word referred to in Phil's talk (in PDF format), click here. Topics to pray for this week are as follows (click the picture to open a larger, PDF copy): Introduction • New year new start • A time for a new resolution • What is it that you want to achieve this year • Have you any goals for 2018 We are already on a journey with God and its not that we always need to look to something completely new We can look forward though to the adventure God is taking us on and with God there is always something fresh God has fresh things for you this year - don't know if you believe that, have thought about it. As i went back to work its that feeling of same old same old But with God its different. fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10 ESV https://bible.com/bible/59/isa.41.10.ESV So i want to share with you parts of a prophetic word give to us at a leaders event in Manchester at the beginning of November by Andrew Davies. Slide 1 In a book you very often get a blank page between chapters. I can see for CitP one chapter has ended and there is a blank page before the next chapter begins All that has gone before was to set the scene and foundation for whats to come Nothing is wasted with God, the good and the not so good But a chapter has ended and we are ti be the history makers writing the next chapter In a story book the story build on the previous chapter we have our story to together to write • We want to see the people of God knowing who they are and what it is that they carry in God • We want to see the goodness of God manifest in all our lives • We want to see the Gospel bearing fruit all over the peaks • We want to see people set free from addiction and oppression • We want to see the Kingdom of God advance and his rule and reign in every area of society in the Peak District • We want to see break through in the miraculous seeing signs and wonders Just to mention a few So what will you dream? Slide 2 There's a lot of history that's gone before that was good but at this moment you have a moment to dream about what you want to do in the Peak District and it is the Peak District, so often you think nation, nation, nation. God says actually at this moment dream about the Peak District We are committed to the nations we are already involved in Turkey, India particularly God is inviting us to dream not for ourselves but for the Peak District We have a promise from Isaiah 41 you shall winnow them, and the wind shall carry them away, and the tempest shall scatter them. And you shall rejoice in the Lord ; in the Holy One of Israel you shall glory. When the poor and needy seek water, and there is none, and their tongue is parched with thirst, I the Lord will answer them; I the God of Israel will not forsake them. I will open rivers on the bare heights, and fountains in the midst of the valleys. I will make the wilderness a pool of water, and the dry land springs of water. Isaiah 41:16‭-‬18 ESV https://bible.com/bible/59/isa.41.16-18.ESV How does that work out in across the Peaks? What does it look like for God to provide water for the dry and thirsty people? • We are praying into this prophetic word as Elders and with our wider leadership team • We are asking God for fresh dreams • We want you to be included and dream with us for what God has for our region This week we would encourage you to join with us in a week of prayer - Prayer sheet to help people. Next Sunday evening we are going to gather for prayer at life works hub 7 - 8:30pm Slide 3 What is that God has given you to d
