As the dreaded pandemic rolls on—and we quickly near the two-year point—we're due for another entry: Despite believing we had probably delivered the final chapter of our 'Lockdown Sessions' series back in December 2020; 2021 had a bit to say about that! Accordingly, with no real end in sight, the series continues—now, the seventh entry. (The James Bond edition, if you will.) Normally, we'd collectively circle a date and eagerly await our next opportunity to catch up—beers, banter, laughs, and of course, the tunes. During this current—now prolonged!—period, said opportunities haven't afforded themselves, and we've been forced to get a little creative with regard to a platform for sharing and consuming music together, flexing our creative muscles in the process. Re-enter 'The Lockdown Sessions'. DJs In The Distance. Resuming operating for the seventh edition. We've once again mixed up the order to keep things interesting. If you're unfamiliar, it's a DJ take on "pass the parcel"... in the best way possible. Play four tracks and pass it on. Four more, and on she goes. The star-studded set also includes a collaboration with Nicki Minaj and Young Thug, who join the 74-year-old icon on “Always Love You.” “I've admired Young Thug for a while and he sampled one of my songs on his track, ‘High,' back in 2018 so it was great to collaborate again,” said Elton. “And then, I was so pleased when Nicki agreed to do it. With the museum currently finalizing its curating of the exhibits, there is debate on whether the museum “should be focused on celebrating the small group of leaders who played key roles or reflect a broader, more complicated tale,” referring to the Tejanos, Native Americans, and Black indentured and enslaved people that are rarely noted in the history of the Alamo. SPEEDING UP PROFESSIONAL BASEBALL: Kathleen is a massive St. Louis Cardinals fan, and agrees that the game would be MUCH more exciting if changes were made to speed up how the game is played. She's excited to read a recent article announcing that MLB is using the Atlantic League as a test league for changes that could potentially speed up the play of game and add more drama. On No Format Friday, anything can happen – and something amazing did happen. The one and only Sir Elton John joined Bo to chat about his new album, “The Lockdown Sessions,” on Celebrity Chit-Chat. We think it's going to be a long, long time 'til we calm down from that excitement. Our star-powered show continued with Amanda from Store 3232 in West Jordan, Utah, who touched down as our Associate of the Day. We then celebrated a double-whammy Milestone Minute, with Beverly from Store 892 in Ankeny, Iowa and Mary from Store 982 in Owatonna, Minnesota, who both celebrated 35 years with the company. The cheers continued for Doree from Club 6608 in Phoenix, Arizona, who celebrated 30 years. Finally, Bo's Impossible Question of the Day asked, “This was invented in 1958 and is probably in your pantry right now. What is it?" Tune in to find out what the delicious answer is.
