From milestone celebrations across the country to the powerful words that stopped Kirby in her tracks, this week's shows gave us all the reasons to celebrate. Bo was in full party mode when Amy called to shout out the 20-year anniversary of DC 7017 in Wintersville, Ohio. Kelly from Store 197 in Macomb, Illinois, successfully solved Kirby's riddle in You Don't Know My Name. Chris' good mood took a small dip when no wan was able to guess the movie, until Danny from Store 1459 in Indianapolis, Indiana, gave him a new hope. But it was John's shoutout to his fiancé and fellow associate, Angie, from Store 1294 in Marion, Indiana, that totally took the cake. Listen now!
In a galaxy, far, far away, Chris couldn't fool listeners with his Take On Me question, when three associates called in with the correct answer. But the mic-drop moment came from David at Store 520 in Winder, Georgia, who gave himself a shoutout for simply showing up to work that day. Bo named two Associates of the Day when Justin and Josh from Store 151 in Mcalester, Oklahoma, called in first. And Kirby was all aglow when she took a moment to honor Charlene, from Club 6651 in Catonsville, Maryland, who achieved her college-degree dreams thanks to the Live Better U program. Discover why Kirby says the best is yet to come, Bo believes the wheel is within reach and more on this week's show!
There's always something to celebrate with our DJs, and this week was no exception. Barb from Store 4323 in Kankakee, Illinois, called Chris to send long-distance birthday greetings to Skyler at Store 3262 in Cambridge, Ohio. And Adah from Store 86 in Springfield, Missouri, called Kirby to say happy birthday to her daughter, Sarah, at Store 1141 in Greenfield, Indiana. Ricky from Store 3296 in Houston, Texas, stopped by and chatted with Kirby. Chris and Bo had a confetti-filled time celebrating the re-grand opening at Store 2446 in Quakertown, Pennsylvania. Jovon from Store 4378 in Onley, Virginia, became Bo's Associate Caller of the Day, while Chris confirmed he's a “real live boy” and earned a shoutout of his own for his pumpin' playlists. Listen now to join the party!
From houseplants to forest bathing, Bo, Kirby and Chris ease into 2023 with a peek inside the wellness world. Bo shouted out some incredible associates in Milestone Minute. Kirby reminds us that we don't have to go full Snow White to reap the benefits of taking a walk in the woods (or a stroll around the block). Antonio from Walmart World and Andre the Dancing Cart Pusher bring big energy to The Chris Show, as do Chris' clues for a classic 1980s throwback. Press play for these highlights – and more New Year's inspiration – from the Walmart World Radio team!
The holidays are on the menu in the radio studio! Amber from Store 288 in Woodville, Texas, calls Bo to send a festive shoutout to her entire store. Kirby celebrates the Store 7224 associates who are sparking good in Lancaster, Texas. Chris' heart grows three sizes after Stacey shouts out the officers and associates making spirits bright at the Shop-with-a-Cop event at Store 1283 in Starke, Florida. From Connecticut to Idaho (w/a stopover in Purdue, Indiana, home of the Boilermakers) Chris is riding the shoutout express all week long, proving that the holidays really are the perfect time to shout out the love! Spoiler alert: Chris packed plenty of puns for the trip. Kirby recognizes the team at Store 2496 in Boone, North Carolina, for the ways they're Sparking Good in their community, then continues to spread joy with a Before You Go reminder that the people we meet – and the stories they share – can expand horizons and hearts. Bo celebrates three outstanding Walmart milestones. He also stumps everyone with his Impossible Question: 45% of families say they have done this activity together. Think you know the answer? Tune in and dial up the volume; this week's podcast is full steam ahead!
The holidays are a time of special moments and memories, and food plays a huge part. We treasure those delicious Thanksgiving and Christmas meals with our favorite dishes and family traditions. For the Season 3 finale of the Huddle, I talked to John Laney, who runs Walmart's U.S. food business. John talked about some of his favorite items, and how HIS family does holiday meals for their family of 10! John and I were especially proud to share how Walmart was able to strip the inflation out of an entire basket of holiday food items, so our customers can serve this year's big meals at last year's price! I hope you'll enjoy this episode, and I hope you'll come to Walmart for all your holiday needs. Thank you so much for tuning in this year. Happy holidays!
Bo's Impossible Question leaves us auto-ly delighted, as does this head-scratching stat: 40% of people say they read a book while driving. Hmmm. Does that make them wheel read? Chris takes his show – and Bo! – on the road, and the pair winds up in Willow Grove, Pennsylvania. Their on-air celebration of Store 3564's Grand Reopening is one for the books, especially when Store Manager Richard shares the story of his 23 years at Walmart. Spoiler: it has a heartwarming holiday plot twist. Kirby takes a nostalgic drive down Sesame Street with You Don't Know My Name, and the whole radio squad gets together for a very merry edition of 10 in 10. Fasten your seatbelts; this week's wrap up is gonna jumpstart your morning commute!
Bo raises a mug to National Cappuccino Day before serving up a triple shot of motivation during a chat with Pam, Deb and Sandy from Pittsfield, Illinois, Store 480, who are each celebrating 40 years with the company. Detective Product dishes clues fit for a Thanksgiving feast. A letter from a pilot has Kirby reaching for the tissues inside the Group Chat. We're all ready to lace up our sneakers for Coach Mike at Store 1931 in Rhinelander, Wisconsin, and Chris' new fixation on green bean casserole-flavored sparkling water has us rethinking our holiday H2O strategy. Don't miss these highlights (and more) as the radio team delivers a cornucopia of holiday flavors during this week's radio wrap up!
Chris talks office time wasters (hint: ⛈️), the perfect cereal-milk ratio and the best-selling album of all time. It's a standing ovation for Steve, from Store 130 in Muskogee, Oklahoma, with his double shoutout to boss Sandy and wife Starla, followed by birthday kudos for his daughter's birthday. With the help of Stacey, from Store 3741 in Atlanta, Georgia, Bo puts the “wraps” on Halloween and starts unpacking for the holidays. But, he really gets “on a roll” with his impossible question: “The average person may use 57 of these a day.” The guesses that follow will have you
With Halloween fast approaching during last week's shows, Kirby learned that the top three most-searched costumes were a dinosaur, witch and Spider Man. After sharing trending news in Group Chat, she swung over to the phone and talked with Austin from Dallas, Texas, who gave a special shoutout to his girlfriend, Samaya, for the KG Birthday Club. Speaking of webs, AJ from the Global Tech Information Security Team joined Kirby to talk about phishing and how to stay safe from cyber villains as we closed out Cybersecurity Awareness Month. Finally, our very own superheroes celebrated huge anniversaries in Milestone Minute! Congratulations to Jeanne from Store 2158 in Northborough, Massachusetts; Kimberly from Store 2427 in Dallas, Texas; and Teresa from DC 8234 in Searcy, Arkansas, on 25 years with Walmart. Get caught up on the best of the week with Kirby Gwen & Friends.
Jason, from Store 5312 in Fort Worth, Texas, fueled the show when he called and gave a shoutout to the automotive department, specifically to his managers Jose and Chase. Bo treated listeners to some Halloween trivia and Bo's Impossible Question which asked: $700 million will be spent on this category of items for Halloween this year. Here's a hint, it's available at our re-tail stores. Kim from Store 1500 in Watertown, South Dakota, called and gave a shoutout to her opticians Carla and June who work in the vision center. Sounds like they are spectacular! In a special segment, Bo shared the top things parents consider “me time.” Exercising, reading, a bubble bath and sitting down for a nice meal were things that topped the list to help parents find their inner peas. Oh my gourd-ness: You're not going to want to miss the shoutouts from this week or the answers to Bo's Impossible Question and Halloween trivia. Tune in now, if you dare
You're probably going to feel like “the king of the world” when you figure out the answer to What Year Was It. In this year, Rose vowed to “never let go” while Will Smith was "Gettin' Jiggy Wit It.” This year the Chicago Bulls also won the NBA finals, the Green Bay Packers won the Super Bowl and the Marlins won the World Series. It was a homerun for Kelly from Store 1639 in Rochester, Indiana, when she guessed the correct answer and gave a shoutout to the digital team. Chris from Store 2538 in Eugene, Oregon, called and gave a shoutout to the entire overnight crew, his team leads, and coach for doing a great job. Chris and Iyube chatted about the phenomenal sport of Pickleball during the segment, Wrong Answers Only. We relished the moment with all the creative submissions. During Master Dad Joke Theater, Iyube was able to crack Chris, but only when it came to a joke about another breakfast favorite—pancakes. Chris's jokes were just too flat this week. Sweet dreams were made of cheese when we had two callers from Wisconsin. Props from Store 1138 in Madison, Wisconsin, and EK from Walmart 1551 in Franklin, Wisconsin, both called in and gave shoutouts to their coworkers. Be sure to tune into The Chris Show, it's Gouda make you laugh.
Tyler Balsman started with Walmart as a People Greeter when he was 16, working his way to Store Manager in a community we've been in for a long time – Store 242 in Paola, Kansas. Four years ago, Tyler was excited to add another title to his resume: Kari's Dad. Tyler and his wife Danielle used Walmart's adoption benefit when they became the parents of their beautiful baby girl. Tyler joined me on the Huddle to talk about leading a small-town store that makes a big impact, making the decision to adopt, and how our adoption benefit and parental leave made the process easier. We also talked about how Walmart has expanded our adoption/surrogacy benefits from $5,000 to $20,000, and how our medical plan now supports fertility services. Families come in different shapes and sizes, and they start in many different ways. At Walmart, we're proud to support all of them!
There was a round of a-paws when Kirby was joined by Walmart's pet merchants Gabi, Gabriela and Jonathan as they shared the latest in pet apparel and goodies. From ‘fits to treats and Halloween bundles ghoul-or, be sure to check out all that is available for your pets online and in-store. Kirby was also joined by Bo this week skelebrating the top-10 DIY Halloween costumes. Trick or treat yourself with these fun and creative ideas that anyone can try! Speaking of treats, it was definitely a treat when “Big Wayne,” from Store 5874 in Torrance, California, called and gave a shoutout to his entire store for getting things done and treating the customers with love and respect. We loved hearing from Terri at Store 5965 in Chicago, Illinois, and Pam from Store 1902 in Ammon, Indiana, as they both gave shoutouts to their pharmacy teams in honor of Pharmacy Appreciation Week. It's a boo-tiful thing hearing from our customers, associates and special guests each week, so tune in now to hear more eerie-sistable shoutouts!
It's National Pharmacy Appreciation Week, and Bo started the show with his own shoutout to all the Walmart pharmacies, especially to the team at Store 4686 in Bentonville, Arkansas. Bo's Impossible Question asked: What occurs once in a minute, twice in a moment and never in one thousand years? It seemed to only take a second for a correct guess to come in from Joe at Store 363 in Marshall, Missouri. Ethan from Store 1599 in Overland Park, Kansas, and Jasmine from Store 2412 in Ellicott City, Maryland, didn't waste any time securing the right answer as well. Bo spiced it up in Detective Product, so we were caught off gourd when Carrie from Store 4818 in Jacksonville, Florida, guessed the correct answer. We're giving ‘em pumpkin to talk about in Milestone Minute as we celebrated three 25-year anniversaries. Congratulations to Jose at Store 2346 in Toa Baja, Puerto Rico, Danny at Store 591 in Cynthiana, Kentucky, and Carol at Store 2131 in Topeka, Kansas. For more a-pill-ing pharmacy week and associate shoutouts, tune in now!
It felt like a “Daydream” in What Year Was It as Michael Jordan made his first return to the NBA, and we all became friends with an animated cowboy and space ranger. We also had a friend in Jerome from Store 1401 in Naperville, Illinois, when he called and gave a shoutout to the overnight team for working hard. It was a slam dunk when Gayle called from Store 4439 in Paw Paw, Michigan, and gave a shoutout to her entire store and to every position at Walmart. The show bounced over to Vivian at Store 631 in Easley, South Carolina, as she gave a shoutout to all the associates in her store, especially the pharmacy associates. The ball was in their court as we recognized Pharmacy Appreciation Week this week. All our swishes came true celebrating Sylvia from Store 4194 in Victoria, Texas; John from Club 8219 in Matthews, North Carolina, and Pamela from Club 8278 in Greenville, South Carolina, in Milestone Minute. Congratulations on your 35 years with the company! From shoutouts to dad jokes, make it a fast break to The Chris Show!
Kirby kicked things off chatting with Dylan from Store 5649 in Warrington, Pennsylvania, spreading the love for his fellow associates, especially Leon in the deli department and Jamelle in the front. The Grammy's were highlighted in Trending News, and we also learned that Tina Turner is the latest icon to have her likeness transformed into a Barbie. We rolled into You Glow Girl and recognized Betsy, a Pharmacy Associate from Store 3234 in Rogersville, Tennessee. We are beyond Rx-cited to celebrate Betsy and her 20 years of service. There were more years of service to celebrate in Milestone Minute. Congratulations to Desirae from Store 328 in Waterloo, Illinois, on 30 years with Walmart. This week we recognized National Savings Day, and by coin-cidence, Walmart also shared the millions of tuition costs saved since launching the Live Better U education program. Bo shared that the first Comprehensive Punk Rock Museum will open in Las Vegas early 2023.
In the light of the moon, we kicked off another week of The Chris Show! From apples to plums, chocolate cake to Swiss cheese and even a lollipop, in What Year Was It we celebrated a notable book featuring a tiny—who became a not so tiny —caterpillar. Speaking of cake, Tiffany from Store 1363 in Madison, Georgia, fluttered to the phone lines and gave a shoutout to cake decorators Pete and Tracy in celebration of National Cake Decorating Day! Making things a little bit more fun-fetti, Corinne from Store 2328 in Orange, Massachusetts, gave a shoutout to the whole team. And vendor Norm from Store 2131 in Topeka, Kansas, gave a shoutout to Dave for doing a great job. We added some icing to the cake with these fantastic associates highlighted in Milestone Minute. Congratulations to Donna at Store 649 in Titusville, Florida, who celebrated 35 years with the company. Marilyn from Store 1442 in Page, Arizona, celebrated 30 years, and we also recognized Peggy from Store 177 in Paris, Tennessee, who celebrated 25. Tune in now to see if your guess for What Year Was It was a piece of cake—or maybe it was more like two pears, five oranges and a slice of watermelon.
Tammie Jo Shults was one of the U.S. Navy's first female fighter pilots. She later became a Southwest pilot, and in April 2018 she was piloting a flight from New York City to Dallas that experienced a sudden engine failure. The plane was down an engine, and the explosion broke a window – causing the cabin to quickly depressurize. Tammie Jo stayed calm, immediately rerouted the plane, landed in Philadelphia, and even went back to speak with her passengers afterward. It was an honor to have Tammie Jo join me on the Huddle to talk about the experience, leadership, how she's persevered against offenses, and how we must always “keep our wings level.”
This exclusive episode was bound to happen. New York Times best-selling author Ali Hazelwood joined Kirby on-air to talk about the launch of the Walmart Book Club—a club long overdue, don't you think? Ali recently released her new book, “Love on the Brain,” which is the first title of the Walmart Book Club's new series. Ali shared with Kirby how she transitioned from writing fan fiction to writing original books full time, and the different things that have influenced her writings—like neuroscience! Tune in to learn more about Ali's creative writing process and more details about this exciting chapter with the launch of the Walmart Book Club.
It's October, the leaves are beginning to turn, pumpkin spice is on speed dial and we also celebrate Cybersecurity Awareness Month. This week Kirby had the opportunity to interview Program Manager AJ from the Information Security division. Kirby and Bo also visited Walmart's first Automated Consolidation Center in Colton, California, to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month. In “What Year Was It,” Hula hoops became a national craze, and we never would know what it was like to be a “Material Girl” just living in a material world — if it weren't for the birth of this singer. When it comes to Bo's Impossible Question of the Day, one from this week might ruffle your feathers. The question asked: Which is heavier, 100 pounds of rocks or 100 pounds of feathers? Diane from Store 40 in Moberly, Missouri, isn't taking for granite that she was the first caller to answer Bo's Impossible Question correctly. However, associates Nathan, Andrew and Tucker were rock stars themselves also calling in with the right answer. Tanika from Store 4434 in Ocala, Florida, one of our Associate Callers of the Day, gave a shoutout to her Academy Trainer Lacy and the rest of the associates at the store. What a gem! Miranda and Team Lead Jaya from Store 3332 in Fulton, New York, gave a big birthday shoutout to their Store Manager Jeff as he celebrated his birthday this week. Our private fleet drivers are the best-of-the-best. They safely drive millions of miles on the roads, keeping our entire business going. We're also proud to offer one of the best driving jobs out there! A new driver can now earn up to $110,000 in their first year with us, and we recently launched the Private Fleet Development Program which pays for Walmart associates to earn their commercial licenses. Levor Franklin is a recent graduate of that program, and we spent some time on the road for this new episode of The Huddle. Levor is a great driver and fantastic 18-year associate! THANK YOU to all of our incredible drivers and technicians! We appreciate you.

What a week for Bo, who heard shoutouts from all over! The first came from everybody's buddy, Dwayne, at Store 3529 in Indianapolis, Indiana. He left a big impression after he shouted out every associate at his store. And don't miss the return of Downtown Sheila Brown, a Bo Show legend, who called to catch up and leave a sweet shoutout for her friends at Store 632 in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. In other news, the Impossible Question of the Day was vexing indeed. It asked, “What gets wetter the more it dries?” In Milestone Minute, we celebrated Gary from Store 4187 in Florence, Alabama, and Danny from Club 8175 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, for 25 years with Walmart! We also celebrated Timmy, from Store 269 in Lawton, Oklahoma, for 20 years! Tune in for all that, and then some, on The Bo Show!
It might be August, but did someone say jingle bells? Eager to display her cheery spirit, Jamie from Store 153 in New Albany, Mississippi, requested some holiday music to match her festive outfits. (She could be onto something here.) Roxana from Store 2215 in Darien, Illinois, gave Chris an unexpected recommendation in the segment “On the Road Again.” Everyone was surprised to hear her shout out a national pizza chain – it's not even deep dish. Hit play to hear the reindeer games our very own DJ Chris got up to this week.
The Bo Show had a busy week! Bo heard from associates around the world of Walmart, starting with Keith from Store 3487 in Detroit, Michigan, who left a shoutout for fellow associates Tasha and Nick! And Tiffany from Club 8253 in Jacksonville, Florida, became the Sam's Club Associate Caller of the Day after she taught Bo how to properly say Duval! In other news, the Impossible Question of the Day kept associates guessing! It asked, “What belongs to you but get used by everyone else more than you?” You'll have to tune in to hear the answer. In Milestone Minute, we celebrated Beverly from Store 505 in Deridder, Louisiana, for 35 years with Walmart! We also celebrated Jason from Club 6781 in Keller, Texas, for 30 years and Robert from Store 994 in New Port Richey, Florida, for 25 years! Tune in for all that, and a nearly-impossible question, in the Bo Show highlights!
It was so cool having Jay Leno join The Huddle. He's a famous comedian, television host, writer, and supplier for Walmart! They were in Michigan for the Woodward Dream Cruise which is North America's largest celebration of automotive culture - and, of course, Mr. Sam's truck made an appearance. Jay is passionate about cars and started his own line of car care products called “Jay Leno's Garage” about a decade ago. His items are developed, made and shipped from the U.S. and have been on our store shelves for a couple of years now. Listen to this new episode to hear Jay's advice on how to keep innovating, make products that can reach more people, and ultimately - deliver and care for each customer.
What a week for Kirby Gwen, who made more friends to add to the roster! She chatted with Sarah, who she met at the Holiday Meeting, to share some mutual words of love and encouragement. It'll warm your heart. She also had some cool shoutouts, like one from AJ at Store 1737 in Villa Park, Illinois, who had great things to say about the OGP team – and Kirby's choice of tunes. In other news, Kirby's 15 Seconds of Fame segment is a hit! Wanna hear your fellow associates rock out? Tune in! Milestone Minute was supersized as we celebrated tons of time with Walmart: Mary, from Store 1473 in Mankato, Minnesota, celebrated 35 years! Kim, from Store 1082 in Jacksonville, Florida, celebrated 25 years, and Dennis from Club 4778 in Auburn Hills, Mississippi, celebrated 20 years. Listen in for all that, and more, from Kirby Gwen & Friends.
Fresh off a fantastic week at Walmart's Holiday Meeting, the team was excited to play What Year Was It? From the iconic film Grease and Van Halen's debut to Ben & Jerry's first ice cream shop, 1978 was truly a memorable year. Even more memorable was Clinton from Store 592 in Derby, Kansas, guessing the answer correctly while giving a shoutout to his whole store! Speaking of years, Jasmine from Store 199 in Lincoln, Illinois, called in to celebrate her nine-year wedding anniversary with her husband and fellow associate Jeff. Congrats to the happy couple! It was a week to remember on The Chris Show, so hit play to hear the highlights.
It's been such a great week in Denver, CO, connecting with our teams at the Walmart U.S. Holiday Meeting! Getting to talk items, prepare for the upcoming season, and spend time with associates in person is always energizing - especially when they're as passionate as Leidy Diaz. Leidy is the Store Manager at 2090 in Franklin, NJ. She moved to America from Colombia at 19 years old, has been with the company three years, and has been serving as SM for about a year. This was her first time coming to the Holiday meeting, and she loved getting to share experiences with fellow managers from across the country. Listen to this new episode of The Huddle to hear why some consider Leidy to be the mayor of her community.
The Bo Show began as all things should: with great conversations and thoughtful questions. Bo kicked off the show naming Rossann from Store 5876 in Dunedin, Florida, as Associate Caller of the Day. Turns out, the pair have history. Rossann and Bo have a great picture together from the 2022 Associate Celebration – and she also left a shoutout for her whole store. Bo's Impossible Question of the Day is one you may need a hand answering: What has four fingers and a thumb, but isn't alive? Listen in, and you just might learn. You'll also hear some marvelous milestones, like Jeff from Sam's Club 6307 in Columbus, Ohio, who celebrated 35 years with the company. And Lisa, from Store 889 in Thomasville, Georgia, who celebrated 25 years, while Joseph, from Store 4139 in Omaha, Nebraska, celebrated 20 years! Tune in to hear all that joy, and then some, in The Bo Show!
Kirby kicked off her second week on the air with a bang! Stephanie, an associate in the Garden Center at Store 141 in Fort Smith, Arkansas, left a shoutout for her “homies” Clarice and Issac.
